SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The KIIR-24 is compatible with quad-chamber magazines for rapid alternation between ammunition types.
    • At most sixty-four slugs in total, at least sixteen slugs of each type; the display may be confusing.
  • The KIIR-24 can increase the exit velocity of individual slugs at the expense of firing rate, see above.
  • The KIIR-24 is compatible with a wide variety of specialised slugs, listed non-exhaustively below.
    • GC-01 (Depleted Baradium): Armour-piercing solid metal round. Simple, yet effective.
    • GC-02-E (Explosive): Detonite or baradium core, power > penetration.
    • GC-02-I (Incendiary): Sets the target on fire, probably a war crime.
    • GC-03-I (Ion): Detonates an ion pulse on impact, anti-droid.
    • GC-03-N (Nonlethal): Slug-shaped dart filled with a potent paralytic/sedative mixture. Performs poorly against armour.
    • GC-05-C (Cortosis): Cortosis slugs; mediocre penetration and terrifying pricetag, but quite effective against lightsabers.
    • GC-07-S (Shrapnel): Synthetic crystal core paired with microcharge; shatters into thousands of tiny pieces designed to cause internal bleeding and extreme inflammation in most organics. Definitely a war crime.
    • GC-07-F (Fex-M3): Boils the victim's brain. Fun, but probably illegal.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
  • Deadly: Whether firing tiny, sharpened rods of cold metal or shrapnel charges of dubious legality, Stormclaws are deadly.
  • Unusual: Blasters are the norm and most militaries adapt accordingly; anti-kinetic protection is at least slightly rarer in general.
  • Unusual: Unlike regular ol' blasters, Stormclaws need specialised ammunition, more frequent reloads, and a knack for air dynamics.
  • Lightweight: Stormclaws fire smaller rounds than your average slugthrower - as such their potency is almost entirely reliant on velocity.
DESCRIPTION
The Stormclaw is a reliable, adaptable design usable in almost any environment for almost any purpose. So long as the user can provide the slugs it needs and keep the battery topped up, the sidearm can reliably keep going through hell and high water. Metaphorically speaking, anyway - don't use your Stormclaw underwater, for while technically waterproof, the slugs it fires are significantly slowed down by bodies of water.

Despite or perhaps because of a reliance on specially-made slugs, Stormclaws are remarkably adaptable - armour piercing, incendiary, and ionising slugs are but the starting point. Perhaps the most innovatively ruthless ammunition type available to the Stormclaw is its shrapnel rounds, which use specially-made synthetic crystals in place of metal - the microshrapnel it produces is deadly, painful, and exceptionally difficult to remove.

Naturally, Globex's medical division immediately began working on specialised tools to remove the accursed stuff.
