- Fully Automized: As with many of the ships the N&Z produces, this Frigate has been fully automized, meaning that most of the regular functions of the ship are being maintained and processed by the internal AI, which in this case is the highly capable ATHENA DCOS with much greater memory and data storage capacity than any previous AI or droid brain set up.
- Highly capable: When it comes to its offenses and defenses, this ship holds the distinction of being capable in both fronts, having the distinction to have ample firepower for its size and enough defensive capacity to have enough staying power in any proper fleet.
- EMP/ION: A common theme with any fully automized ship is their weakness to electro magnetic pulses and Ion weaponry which generates EMP's, as these can overload the ship's systems and even fry them when the EMP is powerful enough, forcing the internal AI to reboot and thus suddenly turning the ship analog, which when only the minimum crew is present, might not be a good time...especially during a battle.
- Difficult range for turbo lasers: Of all the weapon placements, the turbolasers have a somewhat difficult position as they o,ly have a frontal 180 degrees to work with, considering the back of both the upper and lower placed turbolasers are blocked by the ships engines and thrusters.
The Pollux I - class Frigate has been designed on the strict orders of the board of directors, who saw that their company's line up was lacking several proper vessels that could effectively maintain control over smaller planetary and star systems with a small number of vessels. The choice of it becoming a frigate was made when it looked like the specs of a star destroyer sized vessel would be too high and too costly to be sold to smaller factions and systems.
As a first, this frigate presents the first use of the ATHENA DCOS system, in this case the DCOS1M, as in the mass production version, allowing for a much better operation compared to older vessels which used droid brains or older AI types. Now with the added TOP package, the ATHENA is in theory a next gen AI with higher capacity and ability than its peers both inside and out of the company line up, thus promising a great operational quality for the Pollux I - class.
Adorned with the standard HPI Consortium hyperdrive system coupled to the NZ OS3 as back up, F.A.R. reactor and hermes 760i fusial engines, this frigate promises proper speed and maneuvrability in its class, especially with the addition of the RAS missile propulsion system acting for the thrusters. Loaded with a lot of goodies, quality products and despite its average cargo still some hangar space, the Pacifier is designed to the letter and fulfills all desires the board of directors had: in creating a proper command or patrol ship for smaller fleets or in a support role for large fleets.
