- Role: Paladin Company was created as a direct response to the Bryn'adul incursion into Silver Jedi territory. It is comprised of combat veterans and survivors from the battle of Yurb - particularly those few survivors of Icarus Platoon and Maul Company. This is a combat company, pure and simple. Their job is to kill the enemy by any means necessary.

- Combat Function: Paladin company is a multi-role infantry combat company. It excels in a variety of operations, both offensive and defensive in nature. It's soldiers frequently train for defensive and holding actions, guerilla warfare, urban warfare, close quarters combat and advancing under fire. Each member has earned their orbital jump wings and all members are required to hold a secondary qualification in either combat medicine, marksmanship, demolitions, hand-to-hand combat or tactical analysis.
- Veterans: Paladin Company is comprised entirely of veterans. Primarily, it is comprised of survivors of the battle of Yurb, but soldiers from other operations have also been recruited. This unit is unlikely to have the same kinds of difficulties adapting to theatres of combat that other less experienced units have.
- Volunteers: Paladin Company is comprised entirely of volunteers, who have been informed well in advance of their joining that the primary mandate of this unit is to engage the enemy (be it Sith, Bryn'adul or otherwise) in the most aggressive way possible. The Paladins expect to be the first in and the last out in any given operation. As such, their resolve is difficult to shake and their morale very difficult to crack.
- Thrown Together: Paladin Company is comprised of soldiers coming from various types of units. There are special forces, such as the surviving members of Icarus Platoon. Standard duty Rangers, such as the survivors from Maul Company and even former reserve forces that saw action on Yurb. With this discrepancy in previous training, there have been some understandable growing pains as those with less skill are forced to work harder to catch up, and those with higher skillsets suddenly being required to teach others. This has made a somewhat difficult start.
- Battle Weary: The downside to having a unit entirely comprised of veterans is that the instances of post combat traumatic stress, and other associated mental difficulties (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation etc...) is much higher. Since the majority of the company are survivors from Yurb, operations against the Bryn'adul seem particularly triggering for the soldiers.
Paladin Company was founded in the aftermath of the Silver Jedi's victory over the Bryn'adul at Yurb. It was conceived by a core group of survivors from Icarus Platoon and Maul Company: units that were nearly wiped out defending the Shield Outpost. From there, it was filled out with survivors from other parts of the battle and rounded out with specifically chosen veterans from other operations. Command was originally intended for a Hapan officer, but the unit was pressed into service while enroute to begin training within the Consortium. That battle being the Sith incursion on Onderon. With no commander available, Lieutenant Beltran Rarr was promoted temporarily to the rank of Captain and led the unit to engage with Sith-aligned Mandalorians. Following the battle, Beltran's promotion was made permanent and he was assigned as the commanding officer of the unit.
