SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Augmented Assault: Achieved via energized and reactive polymer materials incorporated into the body glove, the armor enhances the wearer’s speed, strength, and athleticism by threefold, allowing the operator to wield heavier weapons with decreased encumbrance and to grapple stronger enemies. In addition, the neural interface integrated into the neck piece allows the armor’s functions to be controlled via thought, increasing reactivity in combat.
  • Face the Sun: The OIF/ISB Tactical Armor achieves an excellent resistance to heat and energy weapons via “skintight” integrated “skintight” energy shield projectors that are embedded within the construction, high-quality betaplast-laminanium composite armor plating, ostrine reinforcement, energy sinks, a composite armorweave bodyglove, and yet more defensive systems.
  • Sonic Weaponry: Equipped with a sound dampening overlay and sonic nullifiers, the OIF/ISB Tactical Armor provides the wearer with a good level of protection against sonic attacks, which while somewhat rare, are nonetheless lethal in the right circumstances.
  • Mind Shield: A Force shield integrated into the neck piece provides excellent resistance against mental attacks, protecting the integrity of the mind against mentalism and other forms of Force intrusion.
  • Low Profile: While the coatings do not offer true stealth capability, they lower the armor’s sensor profile, while making it more difficult to see, harder to fully distinguish, and more difficult to lock onto.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weaponized Radiation: While the armor is capable of protecting its wearer from background radiation in the environment, it does a poor job in protecting its wearer from weaponized radiation, due to it being far more concentrated than radiation in an environment or a vacuum.
  • Acerbic Affliction: Unfortunately, acid weapons are very effective at eating through the protective material to harm the wearer directly, potentially inflicting a host of dangerous effects.
  • Tensor: While optimized to mitigate damage from most forms of energy-based assaults, tensor weapons are indeed the exception. In firing compressed tractor beam waves, they can bypass most of the armor’s defenses and affect the wearer’s body at a cellular level, with the potential to cause mortal injury.
  • Shield Projector Fragility: The OIF/ISB Tactical Armor is a high-tech energized combat armor that depends in large part on its electronics for its defensive prowess. Thus, should its electronics be overloaded, disabled, or impaired, the armor’s ability to protect the wearer will suffer in turn. In such a case, the miniaturized intrinsic shield array might suffer malfunction. Since this system is a linchpin to the armor’s resistance against disruptors (the protective material by itself is unable to adequately defend against this weapon type as solid materials can not be proofed against disruptors), these weapons will likely pose an especially mortal threat to the wearer in the event of system failure.
  • Surface Damage: While the armor’s equipped Dream Sight has an extremely advanced surface-integrated passive reception array, any direct damage to the surface may diminish the effectiveness of the system due to the destruction of a number of passive micro-sensors. This can result in blind spots in the passive reception array.
DESCRIPTION
Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire, the various branches of its security apparatus required enhanced capabilities for a protracted campaign against dissidents, rebels, and external threats. In response, First United Astral Engineering was commissioned to design a next-generation combat armor for tactical personnel of the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) and the Office of Imperial Promotion, Galactic Truth, and Fact Correction (OIF).

The OIF/ISB Tactical Armor system provides robust protection for the Empire's most loyal and fanatical operatives, granting them priority access to a platform vastly superior to obsolete heat-reflective power armor or standard ISB tactical plating.

In essence, the OIF/ISB Tactical Armor is engineered to ensure the endurance of the Emperor's favored servants, ensuring that their will—and by extension, the will of the Emperor—cannot be easily opposed.
