STRENGTHS

  • That's a Thicc Girl: With a hull constructed of thick, interlocking armored ellipsoid hull plates, multiple overlapping defensive systems and robust shield generators, this vessel is able to withstand heavy fire and severe damage yet remain functioning which provides extreme defensive resilience.
  • Floats Like a Butterfly: Due to its advanced propulsion, control and stabilization systems, the increased mass of the vessel is mitigated allowing the ship to maintain the maneuverability and speed typical of its class.
  • That's What She Said: Due to the ship's hull geometry, the interior volume of the vessel is substantially greater than most vessels of comparable length providing ample interior space for additional ships systems, storage and crew.

WEAKNESSES

  • Ye Cannae Change the Laws of Physics: The ship is very heavy for its size and has powerful engines that can, eventually, propel it to great speeds, in a straight line. Turning is another matter. Inertia, force and mass, along with the geometry of the craft make this an easy ship to 'fly' but an extremely difficult one to maneuver especially at speed where aggressive maneuvering can become outright dangerous for those pilots unfamiliar with the ship's characteristics.
  • [COLOR=rgb(209, 72, 65) Can take it but can't dish it out:][/COLOR] With only three laser batteries and one missile tube this ship will struggle to do appreciable damage to anything more robust than a starfighter.
  • Identifies as a Nubian Yacht: Although it is based on and resembles a stock commercial freighter, this is a custom hand-crafted ship. The internal systems are commercially serviceable but any significant damage to the hull will require the services of a (or several) skilled Mandalorian metalsmiths. The 3.175 mm beskar-ciridium cladding alone cost over 2 million credits so operations will be a constant financial drain.
  • Out on a Limb Literally. When deployed the combined stabilizing/gun boom is a very exposed position and easily damaged if the shields were to go down. Destruction of the Boom will affect the ships defensive fire volume and maneuvering ability.
  • Impregnable but not Indestructible The engine thrust nacelles are the hulls weakest spots and if the shields fail damage to them could leave the ship dead in space, continued hits to the hull can pulverize the external sensors leaving the vessel deaf, dumb and blind. Although the hull can withstand direct hits from even heavy turbo lasers eventually the kinetic abatement systems will fail and the kinetic shock from heavy hits will be dissipated inside the hull turning organic lifeforms into jelly.

DESCRIPTION

When commissioned by Dral-kar'ta Sandyr for a new personal starship, the Designers at Mando-De'Loren Multi Atmospherics began the process by studying the design of the Gallofree Yards Maka-Eekai L-4000 which was a practical and reasonable design meeting the needs of transport captains for decades. But when the Engineers got involved to update and modernize the ships system, which the design needed, they couldn't help themselves from making a few tweaks here and then a few more there and, as long as they were at it, they thought they might as well take the opportunity to improve this system and redesign that detail, and that and before anyone noticed, while the ship outwardly looked mostly the same as the original, the entire internal wiring, layout and systems had been changed and improved. The new hull plating system does not rely on any type of new metallurgy but it is a testament to what can be achieved by talented Engineers when they are given the freedom to be creative and innovative unconstrained by the limitations of time and money. This design is much too specialized and over-engineered to be be a commercial success but as a custom craft for its new owner, it is a well-made technical marval of the shipwrights craft.

The defining feature of this craft is its newly designed heavily armored hull The armor on this vessel is a bespoke two-meter-thick five-layer amalgamation of armor and damage mediation systems. Layer 1 is a Beskar-Ciridium Alloy grid forming an outer skin Kenetic/Energy Striker Plate to localize high yield piercing strikes. Layer 2 is an Energy Shield Buffer of Dallorian Alloy and Agrinium matrix armor for thermal shedding and radiation absorption. Level 3, the Thermal and Shock Dissipation Core, uses heavy ferroceramic plates to absorb brute force impacts. Suspended between them is a Hydro-Gravitic Bistate Gel that absorbs ambient vibrations and instantly dampens shockwaves. Level 4, the Shielding Core, of Neutronium-Impregnated Impervium. This is the thickest final armored bulkhead and riles on brute strength to stop any ordinance that gets thru the outer layers. Layer 5 is the Inner Hull anti-spall spaced framing of Durasteele-Alusteel Weave lined with Duraplast that blocks EMP and any spalling from reaching the interior.

The hull architecture is basically an ellipsoidal truncated Spheroid of interlocking Isogrid armored panels that provides ample internal volume and a strong hull that does not require conventional framing and allows internal modularity unrestrained by structural requirements. As math is hard, this means that the hull does not require any internal support to maintain its structural integrity so, aside from where the engine thrusters and bridge windows intersect the hull, the interior spaces can be designed without any limiting factor but the limitation of the gross volume of the interior hull. This design simultaneously provides for a very strong ridged hull and unfettered modularity of internal spaces.

The interior has been fitted out to meet the personal needs of its owner and while it is ostensibly a private yacht, it is a private yacht for a Mandalorian and that means being armed and armored. The up-scale finishes are more quality than quantity with fabrics replaced by leathers and plastics by wood and stone with metals polished. It is comfortable and luxurious but in a practical Mandalorian way.
