SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Jotun is able to deploy a forward-facing, rear-facing or complete comprehensive shield bubble.
  • The deflector shields of the Jotun allow for free movement between the inside and outside of the shield bubble.
  • Creating a neutron-positive field around the hull of the ship, the Jotun defensive system partially dissipates ion and laser-based weaponry, reducing effectiveness and total damage.
  • The Jotun has increased and more-efficient power generation due to a Sybarium crystal power converter.
  • SACG-23S shock-absorbent gel protects the Jotun from overheating, allowing for a greater shield power capacity.
  • Due to its reduced size, the Jotun is able to be installed onto fighter-sized spacecraft and vehicles.
STRENGTHS
  • Looking for the Little Guy: The Jotun defensive system is designed to be able to be equipped by smaller fighter-sized spacecraft and vehicles, and its small size and efficient use of power thanks to a Sybarium crystal power converter allows for the Jotun to be used economically on smaller ships.
  • Protects Itself and Others: The Jotun is able to deploy a forward-facing, rear-facing or completely comprehensive shield bubble, along with a neutron-positive field around the hull of the ship that partially dissipates ion and laser-based technology, and an anti-rad layer protection ships or vehicles from harmful radiation.
WEAKNESSES
  • Jedi, Sith, and Everything In Between: The Jotun offers no protection from lightsabers or the force, meaning that Jedi, Sith or other force-users and lightsaber wielders will be completely unhampered by the Jotun. Similarly, sonic weapons and pressure are also very effective tools against the Jotun.
  • Not that Small: While the Jotun is able to be installed on fighter-sized starcraft and vehicles, the shield system is not an independent portable device. It is much too large to be feasibly worn by organic soldiers, and the Jotun must be connected to a power source if individuals wish to use the defensive system independently.
DESCRIPTION
Roble Manufacturing's first defensive system, the Eir, was a functional success but much too large to be installed onto smaller fighter-sized spacecraft and vehicles. As such, Roble Manufacturing created the Jotun, a much smaller version of the Eir with efficient power consumption, smaller size and weight, but with the core features that had made the Eir as successful as it was. The Jotun is designed in a way that operators of the shield system can throw around the shield, so to speak, in a way that can act as a single protective barrier for oncoming blaster fire or a comprehensive shield system for dogfights and space battles. Either way, the Jotun is an extremely capable and power shield system that is vital to any starfighter, freighter, or similarly-sized spacecraft.
