Life Day To Never Forget! (SJO/CIS Festive Social!)

Ura nodded, a happiness continuing to come of her. ear voice may not have carried emotion, but the Force and her eyes did at least. She looked at [member="Jorah zos Darnus"] , nodding before speaking again.

"Well, nice to meet you, Shaol'maru." She then listed carefully when he explained that sum cultures found them fashionable. The Lervon tilted her head curiously, thinking about it. She then started to shift a little. "Really?" Her form then seemed to shift some, making it look like she was wearing a sun dress. She looked at it, trying to see how it looked. "Not sure why it's a big deal?" She chuckled a little, looking over to [member="Acaadi"] , [member="Kat Decoria"] , and [member="Kyra Perl"] . Ura was happy to see everyone having fun, and shook her head a little.

"Yeah. Those are some of my friend. Kyra, Kat, and Acaadi."

Kyra? Slow down? Ha.

She was in her element tonight. No training, pretty dresses, friends, alcohol. All the stress of the past months fell off her shoulders as she took her first sip of Kat's proffered drink. The deaths, the failures, the threats on their future? It all faded to background noise as the pleasant bite of alcohol tickled down her throat. Out in this ball room, Kyra felt like nothing more than a kid again. She basked in it. The little empath made no move deflect or protect her mind from the influence of others around her, practically vibrating against the swath of enjoyable energy around her.

She leaned into Kat's arms, listening as Acaadi accounted for his dateless existence. "Well that just won't do. Everyone needs a date to one of these things-- have you tried Ura?" Kyra unabashedly was trying to match everyone in their class up. The only thing that spared Kat from the effort was the fact that she had asked Kyra out first.

Then Kat just had to deal with other things. Like Kyra making sure their dresses didn't clash.

Kyra grinned as she caught [member="Ura Iolar"] 's eye. "Ohey look. She's talking about us now. Go, woo her! I hear she likes sand," Kyra laughed out, giving Acaadi a playful shove Ura's way.

She waved at Ura as she did so, mouthing 'I got you'. Ura had never asked to be 'got'. Kyra cared not. She took a long sip of her drink, grinning sideways at Kat and winking as she did.

Vytal was pleased to find Jorah encountering and communicating some someone at the gathering so quickly. It did him well to be exposed to the politer and gentler offworlders of the galaxy. As much you could learn by being thrown to the wolves, there was something to be said in having time to think about what was happening in the moment with less violent interactions. After all, interacting with the offworlders was an important skill for a Nightbrother far from home. He would need allies, and temperament to gather allies in times of need.

Speaking of which -- with a lack of Jedi Masters for a Nightmother to commune with -- the pale woman casually had made her way around to a rather boisterous gathering. As she stood there some feet back, the Dathomiri woman observed the men -- and likely some women -- cheering as alcohol was shoved into the face of one of their own. Some sort of ritual or rite, she gathered. A test of endurance and willpower to see it through. How it was there were women in their rank, Vytal could scarcely comprehend; but their behavior was quite inline with what she'd come to expect of some offworld males.

"To your healers," Vytal scoffed in jest aloud. Perhaps they had new livers grown in jars just waiting for the day they would be needed. So these were the Rangers that could fight the battles that Jedi might seek to avoid, but would wage if no alternative was possible? Well, they seemed a solid sort. No doubt the Rangers and Dauntless must have engaged in joint exercises at some point; Vytal was curious what might result from such things.

Galaar could very well smell the woman leaning in before she actually spoke. No matter where they were, she had always managed to have an intoxicating scent about her, one that got his attention promptly whenever it came close. As she leaned over, he leaned a bit closer, allowing the space between them to be quite minimal. Her words caused the smirk on his lips to spread and he turned to the redhead, chuckling in the process. His lips pressed against her cheek softly at the same time as his fingers pinched her side lightly through the dress she wore.

Staying leaned in close, he brushed his lips lightly against her ear and spoke softly, almost tickling with his voice. “Perhaps drinks are only a temporary thing then. I can’t have you being all pristine and proper all evening. I would have thought you lost your edge.Another chuckle followed, then a slight pull as the pair walked out an into the dance floor area. Well, to the edge of the dance floor at least. He had no qualms with them joining it once he had a few drinks in his system and he couldn’t remember that he couldn’t dance whatsoever.

Once at the bar, a chair was pulled out for the gorgeous redhead, then he took the one beside her. Giving her hand a little squeeze, the greying haired man waved down the bartender. Props to him, he was quick to make his way over to the pair of mandos, white toothed smile shining brightly as he stood at attention before them. “And what will you two be drinking tonight?” Galaar couldn’t help but tilt his head slightly in thought, glancing over to the redhead before a thought popped into his head.

With a smirk that hadn’t left his lips since the moment the pair had arrived still pulling at his lips, he fully turned to cali, nodding to the bartend before stating his idea. “How does I ordering your for, you ordering for me sound? Could be real fun.” A little shrug followed, knowing that the idea might not be taken. Couldn’t hurt to offer a little game though.

"I wouldn't say you're entirely wrong, power attracts hanger-ons after all it's the nature of the beast. If someone thinks that you can do something for them, either now or in the future then they're bound to seek you out, to curry favour with you. It's just how people think."

One hand came up, sweeping over the vista infront of that, as if to reveal it all to the man standing next to her as Lunara tilted her head to the side, one eyebrow arching up ever so slightly. It wasn't that unusual to find someone who was unhappy with the way people fawned over power, circled around it like vultures all waiting for a piece of the pie, their turn for attention. The only question was why her companion was so jaded, bad past experiences, or just a failure to seek out and claim those 5 minutes of attention himself?

"I think, here though, you're maybe seeing things that don't exist. If you look at it, the Vicelord and an Exarch, arguably two of the most powerful people in the galaxy are there, just dancing alone without anyone trying t cut in, without a circle of others fawning over them, clapping their every move. I see Padawans and Masters, Knight and even a member of the viceroyalty here, but where are these sycophants you speak of. You yourself are a many of some significant power, of capability within the Confederacy and yet I see not one of those weakminded you mentioned fawning over you."

The tilt of the glass caught the light as Lunara half saluted her companion, that little ghost of a smile playing over her lips as she lifted the drink to take a sip. Truth was it was different, she'd been to the events, both at home and in the Confederacy where those vultures existed. Vultures she'd managed to avoid the interest of so far she'd seen how it had effected others and could even share the man's distate of those individuals who saought to ruin a party. Luckily the Jedi seemed to be less concerened with that than just enjoying themselves.

"Besides, these are the Jedi, it's not like they're super concerned with our politics or bying from us. Yes, they might try to save us from teh dark path we all tread, but let's face it you have to cross some lines in the name of personal beauty right?"

That small smiled morphed into a larger grin as the young woman turned to face Credius head on, her crystal blue gaze settling on his face.

"How about for one night, leave the Eriadu mindset at home and just relax an enjoy yourself. Who knows, you might actually end up liking it."

The young Dathomiri turned back to see Ura's form changing appearance.

The sand shifted, until it was clear that she was wearing a dress similar to the ones that she had pointed out to him. Indeed, she indicated a group of females and stated that such were her friends.

It was clear that Jorah had trespassed. Or, at least, overstepped his bounds. To speak to a female without permission was not allowed among the Dathomiri. And now it seemed that he might also be keeping her from her coven of sisters.

At the same time, it seemed as though the Nightmother had found an amusement for herself in the drunken rabblerousers.

This social gathering between the Silver Jai and the Confederacy was proving to be anything if boring.

"I apologize if I have kept you from your friends," the boy noted aloud, with another bow toward the Lervon. "It was nice to have met you, Ura of the Lervon."

Laughing, Acaadi shook his head at Kyra. He liked seeing her this bubbly again. Things had been different since their run in with the trandoshan and then their failure as escorts. Their trip to Bespin had hardly been a success either. He knew that in the case of the trandoshan and mandalorian attacks they had not been expected to act, yet it still hurt to have failed like that.

He did not know what Kyra's upbringing had been like. It has hit them in different ways he suspected. For him it had been the first time he had truly felt a weight of expectation bearing down on his shoulders. Perhaps no one else had put it there but himself. Throughout his life everyone had always come so easily.

For the weeks since he had turned a little inwards. The Force had always been connected to the spirituality of his own people, but meditating had always seemed so pointless when he could prove his skill with raw ability.

What use was that power if he didn't know what to do with it, didn't see the danger coming? Acaadi had slowly become quite determined to deal with his glaring weaknesses.

Right now, he was determined to enjoy himself.

"You know you can just tell me you two want to go and dance!" he laughed at Kyra, sticking out his tongue. The empath would be able to tell there was nothing but amusement behind the tease.

The mirialan made his way across the floor, catching the last of the dathomirian boy apologising profusely. Another reminder that attempting to flirt with one of the witches would be playing with fire. Acaadi gave him a friendly wave as he took a step back from Ura.

"Hey Ura, fair warning, Kyra has decided she's setting us up today," he told her.

The Nightmother's eye was drawn aside then by an invisible hand. The Rangers were of interest, and perhaps they'd notice her or her departure. The white woman, however, was intended on those under her charge being strengthened or at the least given opportunity to do so. A Nightbrother, strong in body and focused on mind, could still use the guidance of a Sister that had been tossed among the waves of the strange offworlders. Once more the Dathomiri woman slipped through the crowd with hardly any effort at all. Most seemed to give her kind more than ample room to pass. If that was their wish, to keep her and the power she held at arm's length it was their loss.

"Sometimes it is necessary to fight when the odds are stacked against you," Vyta said unbidden by any present, her voice calm and unbroken. "Many social battles are waged on the hills and mountains of preconception and fear." Her gaze passed over the sandy woman and then to those that seemed keen on her well-being. "If it would benefit you to have an ally, however..." True, Vytal had hoped to meet more of the Jedi Masters -- those present seemed taken, sadly -- but if it would prove educational to Jorah then the evening would not be for naught. Though it was always possible the sandy woman might have taken an interest in Jorah herself; this would be a pleasant surprise, which Vytal would not deter despite their differences.

"It is simply the expression of power which makes one the center of attention," The viceroy chuckled when the young lady mentioned that despite the fact that he himself was supposed to hold some sort of significance in the grand scheme of things, there weren't any vultures circling around him. Though in a sense he had already discovered that thinking he had any power within the confederacy was but a mere illusion. After all, the viceroys were just like the senators of the old republic: people that could voice their opinion, but in the end had little to no executive power beyond their own borders. Luckily for him, there were already plans being made to intensify his own power within this decentralized government, with no Knights Obsidian, no confederate defence fleet stationed within his system, he had found the caviat within the laws of the confederacy which would allow Credius to far outrank the other viceroys when it came to executive power. "As you said, the Vicelord and the lady Exarch are dancing alone, with none flocking to them...for now."

After she had taken a sip from her glass, the woman managed to catch him off guard by stating something about most of the party's attendants being jedi, pointing out the fact that they were the least likely to concern themselves with politics and the likes thereof, which made Credius's eyes twinkle a bit as he couldn't refrain himself from grinning ever so slightly. "Now that there is a good joke, Jedi that don't concern themselves with politics. If one of them would ever state that...they'd be branded a hypocrite, no? Is it not the truth that the galaxy has been formed through history specifically by jedi and sith meddling with politics?" Letting out a chuckle, his gaze went towards the Vicelord for a moment before it returned back to the woman who had been so wonderful at entertaining him with her delightful, albeit perhaps a bit ignorant statements. "Oh, but I am relaxing, my dear...simply not enjoying it as much as I would be enjoying reading a good book or going out for a hunt. We all have our interests after all and mine happen to be a bit more solitary rather than social."

Things were going well, Acaadi held a weak defence in the case of his growing facial hair which convinced Kat that there would be a likely chance that Acaadi never grew a full beard in any near time. Kyra had decided to set Acaadi up with Ura, she wasn't sure if she was meant to feel sorry for the pair or if she wanted to see how they would do for the night. Kat caught Kyra's smile and wink, a slight blush set on her cheeks as she winked back to Kyra. The girl was younger than her so she was keeping an eye on the drinking, one or two shouldn't be too bad but she didn't want her date getting drunk.

Kat also realised that she would have been likely to be the subject of Kyra's attempt to setting up someone at this event, though she suspected that Kyra might have tried initially with people she would not have been interested in. Kat blinked when Acaadi had mentioned witches. "The nightsisters are fine, as long as you are into slightly weird chanting at night. Also, don't think you can be too picky Acaadi." Kat poked her tongue out at him as he wandered off to Ura. Kat turned to Kyra, smiling warmly to her, "Well do you want to go dance now then or spend some time watching those two?" Kat asked her date as she took a final sip of her drink and placed it on a nearby table freeing her hands.

Yuroic decided that it was important for him to attend the Life Day event, he had spent most of the day with his children and Jairdain, getting presents and having fun with them. It had been a good day and Yuroic decided it would be nice to finish the day chauffeuring the party. Or at least had been asked to chauffeur and needed to attend to party being a Jedi Master and part of the Assembly. Yuroic stretched and adjusted his jacket, he had forgone the tie since he found it choking him and he had a little gel in his hair. Wandering over to the bar, Yuroic ordered himself a small drink, nothing overly strong but pleasant to drink.

Looking around, he spotted the Padawans having fun, [member="Kyra Perl"] seemed to be very hyper tonight which made sense. Zeltrons thrived on parties and the atmosphere that brew from them. So it wasn't surprising that she was so excited, though he wasn't pleased that she was drinking, Yuroic knew that she was pushing her luck there and would be keeping an eye. He didn't want to be dealing with drunk Padawans again at a party, and the Order might get a bad reputation for letting Padawans drink till they were wasted which was not something he wanted. Sipping his drink, Yuroic looked around and saw that there were plenty of other guests.

[member="Darth Metus"] and [member="Srina Talon"] from the CIS had arrived which was nice to see, it was good for the two factions to have events like these. It was proof that the Jedi and Sith can live in peace and didn't have to be in constant war. Something that did not suit the Jedi, however, he could hear the rowdy cheers of very drunken Rangers. Shaking his head, Yuroic looked over to them, he hoped that they wouldn't make too much of a sense. Also who gets that drunk this early at the party, at least wait till midway or at the end of one.

"Politics is everywhere," Lunara agreed, tiliting her glass forward Credius as she turned fully to face him, the pale amber liquid curling up out of her class to form a ribbon that danced between them, twisting through tighter and tighter knots. "Everyone in this room has a modicum of power and politics is nothing more than the application of power through another means." The champagne ribbon twisted around them before streaming back into her glass as the young woman half turned, her free hand coming up to sweep across the room, "Everyone here has power of a sort in their own way, and that means that that politics is a part of everything that they do, tha we do, it's as natural a part of us as breathing. But that same proliferation of power makes this something else, something special."

The young woman let go of her glass, securing it the air next to her with the force, the crystal vessel hovering there without a temour as she took a few steps forward to spin and face him arms outspread. "The fact is, because everyone here has power, has a means of power then well it provides an eye in the storm. The truth is no-one in this room needs anything from us, from one another. We're already allies, we're already friends, what more could the Jedi possible ask from us? What more could we possibly ask from them? Tonight, we just get to be, just be us and there's no judgement, Jedi, Sith or other tonight is just about enjoying one another's company." A small smile curled up her lips, "The galaxy will still be out there and the vultures can descend tomorrow. You're not wrong about the history of the galaxy, Light knows we've all done enough damage to history with our meddling, but that's not today."

Truth was while the galaxy might be a place of constant war and death, today in this place none of that was present, alll there was was a kind of quiet peace, the calm of hte storm she'd tried to describe. Lunara had grown up dealing with politics in one way or the other, within the church, within the Imperial family, it was impossible for her to avoid it. She might never have been the best student of the art but it had beaten itself into her very being, and she ccould appreciate the viceroy's distaste of it. "It might not be quite the solitary pursuit's that you're normally interested in but..." she took a half step away, holding out a hand to Credius, "The Vicelord and Exarch are only one pair and it's a big floor. So, in an effort to stay ahead of the vultures...care to trip the light fantastic?"

Ura looked at [member="Jorah zos Darnus"] , the Force and her own eyes conveying her surprise. She didn't think he'd be so worried about keeping anyone from friends at a party. Then again, she admittedly didn't know much about Dathmirian culture. She looked a little surprised, but didn't want to make her new friend feel too uncomfortable. She knew good and well how it could feel.

"Oh.... Ok.... You weren't really keeping me from them though. But it was nice meeting you, Shaol'maru." She was then surprised, and somewhat confused when [member="Kat Decoria"] , [member="Acaadi"] , and [member="Kyra Perl"] come up. The part that confused her was what Kyra said though. She could tell what her friend mouthed, but she didn't know what the pink skinned padawan meant by got. She then heard Kat, which only added to the confusion. Then finally Acaadi answered her silent questions. Kyra....

"Oh.... Sh-she...." Ura's body seemed to shift some, clearly nervous. It would've been clear that it wasn't Acaadi, and more what Kyra had decided to do. "So.... Uh.... What exactly do we do?"

Acaadi spared a glance over his shoulder when he saw Ura looking in that direction. He already knew it would be Kyra up to no good.

"You don't have to go if you want to stay and talk?" Acaadi offered the young dathomirian. Their culture intimidated him, but he'd been left out of social gatherings before.

Admittedly he had never felt out of place to a great degree. He had spent his time in his own community and been a fairly popular within his own year group back at home. It hadn't been hard to adjust to silver Jedi lifestyle either, beyond coming to terms with how much more tedious it was than he had expected.

"We talk, I drink and when I've drunk enough we dance," he told Ura plainly.

if they're watching anyways
No warning? She really needed to keep her senses tuned -- she didn't even realize her parents had arrived until she was brought into a hug by her father. Not to say it wasn't a pleasant surprise. This was the best thing ever. Her family, here with her to celebrate, all ready to do all the things she'd planned and see all the things she'd prepared. Everything would go perfectly. It had to.

She squeezed her dad as hard as she could. It wasn't very hard, but it was clear that she was trying. Eventually the pressure lessened and she slipped out of Josiah's grasp long enough to spread the enthusiastic embrace to her mother, Mara. Another hug and internal warm-and-fuzzy feeling later, Auteme stepped away and looked at them both, a big grin on her face. She felt like a silly little kid. Already having fun. "Happy Life Day!" She giggled a moment, for no real reason.

"Present goes under the tree, then I'll show you around! Life Day on Kashyyyk is really something," she said, already inching her way through the entrance, eager to get moving. There were cookies to be eaten and presents to be opened.

"Well do you want to go dance now then or spend some time watching those two?" Kat asked her date as she took a final sip of her drink and placed it on a nearby table freeing her hands.

Kyra's grin only widened as she watched Ura's energy fluster around her. Neat little trick, that. Kyra was growing stronger, the padawan no longer needing to touch someone she was close to to sense their emotions. Ura in particular was comprised entirely of the force, making her a radiating billboard sign for Kyra's psyche to read.

They had spent so much time engaging with each other's signatures, it was starting to become as natural as breathing for Kyra.

"Oh, definitely watch."

She tipped back her drink, smacking her lips and placing her empty glass down besides Kats. Had the Zeltron hybrid inherited a second liver?

Was a bit rude to ask, but she strode forward confidently enough, wanting to be in ear range. Her gaze fell on Vytal Noctura Vytal Noctura , just on the edge of the group. "Hey..." She tilted her head, straining to get a read on the stranger.

Nothing.

Drats.

"Who's that?" She blinked as the person in question met her gaze. An easy smile broke across Kyra's features, a friendly nod being given across the space. "She looks alone." And that wouldn't do. "Come on, lets get Acaadi two dates." And willing or not, though likely willing, Kat was dragged forward by the arm she had strung through Kyra's. It was almost comical. Like a dog on a leash.

Kyra smelt friendship. Kyra go.

"Hi!" She greeted, spilling into the space around Vytal.

As Vytal sought to converse with her young Nightbrother, the sensation of someone attempting to intrude upon her from afar entered into her thoughts. And those of Lylek, a spirit that was far less amused than the Nightmother herself. True, trying to read someone of her position could be dangerous if successful, but they were surrounded by Jedi. Perhaps it was more surprising no one had tried it sooner. So many of those present seemed so young -- so full of bravado and bluster. Even young Nightsisters could misbehave, though they usually didn't test their luck against a Clan Mother for good reason.

The Dathomiri's gaze lifted and followed the path back to the source of the attempt. It led to a young one whose expression belief no apology, and perhaps not an ounce of embarrassment at being caught. She said a few words to Jorah before she straightened up. Slowly the Nightmother turned toward Kyra and her companion that was unceremoniously drug along.

"Hello there," the pale woman hailed the young one as they drew close to one another. "I must say I'm impressed. You're the first one here to approach me." This would be quite interesting to meet someone so bold. Jedi could be fearless, but the way the light caught this young woman's eye spoke of something more. To be so young and free.

A kinda happiness came off Ura as she chuckled a little at Acaadi's explanation. It was hard for her to imagine... anyone drunk really, so she was somewhat curious as to what that would be like. She then realized something. What should they talk about? That was something that she wasn't always the best at. The Lervon thought for a moment before finally thinking of something.

"So.... Um.... How have you been?" She sighed a little in frustration. Why was talking still one thing she wasn't good at? She just hoped that Acaadi would understand that. Then again, they had been in each other's heads before, so he probably would. Ura then shook her head, chuckling a little. "Not my best attempt to start talking."

Kyra was bouncing off the walls basically, it seemed the mix of the emotions that were increased in the room and the drinking seemed to have Kyra on energy levels not quite appropriate for the party. Kat offered a calming neutral presence to Kyra, to give her a grounding level for the girl to match as she approached strangers. Kyra had seemed to be drawn to the presence of a Nightsister watching the teens, ignoring the Ura and Acaadi interaction. Kat slightly rolled her eyes but she remained calm and offered a polite smile to the Nightsister. She had learned a little on them but not a lot and was curious if what she did know was accurate to their behaviour.

"Hey, my date is a bit excited tonight, sorry if she seems a bit extra." Kat explained, as she held Kyra's hand, interlocking their fingers. "We are surprised no one else has approached you, you seem very friendly!" Kat stated, she was trying to make friends with this new person, feeling slightly awkward and out of place with the stranger but putting on a brave face.

"I'm not extra!" Kyra proclaimed, a touch of hurt or perhaps indignation in her tone as turned to Kat. Kyra crinkled her nose at her, pursing her lips as she gave a sassy shake of the head. Clearly Kat's words were dismissed as a playful jab, Kyra reaching out to fix a smudge of her make up for her.

"I'm excited. And you should be too, doesn't she just have the prettiest eyes?" She turned back to Vytal then, grinning warmly. "You do have pretty eyes. They match Acaadi's skin." Mwahaha. She was unabashedly blunt in the direction of her thoughts. "Don't you think they match his skin? I'm Kyra!"

She bounced between the two without slowing, her words sliding out of her like a waterfall. She perked, rolling up slightly on her toes as she introduced herself.

"This is Kat. Who are you?"
