House Mecetti nationalized all industries in their province prior to the rise of the Galactic Empire. This most notably included the operations of the Obulette Shipyard and the conglomerate known as Tampson Consolidated, which was lured to Javis specifically with the intention of trapping them economically and rendering them into House control. House Mecetti is known for the manufacture of simple, cost-effective, and reliable weapons, armor, vehicles, and ships. Often, they do this on license from other manufacturers, choosing reliable technologies that have fallen out of the mainstream but may still be desirable for niche markets. Despite being a series of nationalized industries, the companies under House control have made a fair profit selling to entities who are either too poor to afford the best gear, or have too few manufacturing facilities of their own to keep up with demand.
RATIONALE: Maldor Mecetti uses his position as the Senator of Obulette (inappropriately) to make deals on behalf of his House, taking business meetings in his Senatorial office and shunting work to the Obulette Shipyard and Tampson Consolidated as he is able. He is also heir to House Mecetti, and will effectively own the complete industries of the House once his parents pass from power. Until then, Casteban Mecetti controls the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries.

Update: With the death of her husband, and the exile of her son, Vianca Mecetti has assumed control of House Mecetti and the House Mecetti Nationalized Industries.
