The standard House Mecetti Army Pistol is a DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol with optional scope and shoulder-stock case. This allows the weapon to serve as an improvised carbine if needed for longer-range operations. Most House Macetti Guard Army units carry pistols only, as they are assigned to defense of House assets in close-engagement scenarios. The pistol's ability to be converted into an improvised carbine with scope enable longer-range engagements if they prove necessary. Rifles are usually issued to Army units only in the case of offensive operations.
While this is a House-specific sidearm variant, it is also mass produced. The DL-44 is a centuries' old design found throughout the galaxy, and the shoulder-stock accessory is the main difference between the Mecetti House Guard variant and others found throughout the galaxy are nearly identical.
