Crown of Sorrow | CIS Invasion of UCM-held Tanaab [ OOC ]

[member="Mittens"], [member="Calder Icehammer"],

I didn't know. I pointed out the rule because I didn't want someone to be removed from the invasion on a rule, or have the UCM get bad points. I want to enjoy this invasion and want everyone else to try to enjoy it as well. Sorry if I caused any inconvenience. This should be a fair play for everyone to join in if they would like. However, thank you for the clarification and update on it.

Don't worry about it! I was just clearing up the ruling as it didn't have a cut off date in the main rules that you listed. When rules are changed, things can get confusing for the threads that are happening around the same time. You did the right thing! (Also, this is Burr.)

[member="Scherezade deWinter"]

Fair, fair. I'll give you that much.

Pretty sure I tagged all the people doing the fleeting thing. Is my first time trying my hand at it, and I look forward to RPing with all of you in space! Lemmi know if I missed a tag or two though.

CIS Armada positioning {by proxiomity to Tanaab}: Essentially an arrowhead formation with Voph as the lead.
[member="Azmodan"] - Entered into the system, closely to the planet and is currently the closest to the planet and DANGER
[member="Voph"] - Serving as the Vanguard to the Armada, his forces have cleared a path through the mines for the main force and are assaulting forward towars Tanaab, they have been effectively cut off by [member="Vanessa Vantai"].
Myself- The Veil and it's escorts are moving closely behind Voph to support his assault on the Sith Fleet. My main body force is moving around Voph {left flank} to target the Mandalorian space station and clear out the rest of the mines.
[member="Kiff Brayde"]- Attached to the main body of the fleet, currently taking up positions to capture evacuees.
These are the updates by the beginning of my laterst post but are subject to change pretty soon. Any questions dont hesitate to ask!

I'm not even doing any fleeting in this invasion and I'm glad to see this communicated, keep it up. I'll pass this post along to the fleeters for the UCM in the invasion channel.

In Umbris Potestas Est
Have opened fire on [member="Adron Malvern"]'s dreadnought with the available firepower of all 45 of the battlecruisers and dreadnoughts I currently have available. Also have deployed fighters.

[member="Livia Maddox"]

Really excited to be going up against you, but I had a question. I had engaged the Hell Wolf with the Aurora Tempestas which are designed to shut down a ship's weapons. I'm sorry, I wasn't entirely clear in my post just referring to all the weapons apart from the Garuda.

Oh, oh, oh, oh! Tech Battle!

-digs into involved subs-

Ok, first off. [member="Kaine Australis"], you filthy heathen, how dare you design a ship without cap drains.

It looks like the ship is armored in a material called Silicar that is able to diffuse heat, cold, and electricity over a wide area of hull... And reflects light? Reflecting light is mentioned in the description, but not mentioned as a strength or weakness. Which is ironic, because the first strength of the Aurora Tempasta weapon says "no-one ever thought that light would be dangerous." Which is funny because the Silicar armor is accidentally protective against light based attacks (in addition to protecting against heat and electrical attacks).

Even without the reflective properties, the diffusion effect of the Silicar hull plating should protect against (or mitigate) the EM/Electrical pulse of the Tempasta weapons, and diffuse the pinpoint heat damage caused by Tempasta and other solar ionization weapons.

Also. [member="John Locke"], good job on those weapons. At first glance, my gut reaction was to call BS on a light based weapon being able to transfer an electrical charge to a target, but the science checks out. Special light going through the electromagnetic field of the ship's own shields creating a charge... Brilliant. Really well done. It's rare that these sort of weapons ever make sense, but yours does.

That being said... I have to ask. What's the logic behind the Garuda Solar Pulse Cannon? It's tying to be a Solar Ionization Cannon and an Ion Pulse Cannon at the same time, and I don't see the logic of it's functionality.

I keep getting messages about the towers on the border if they can shoot out the shield and how much they are poking out. So to help I made a quick img to show. (ps when i say quick i mean quick)

What's the recoil like on those guns? If they're too strong, the kickback'd put the blast behind the shields and cause some wicked blowback damage to the muzzle.

Hey Valdus! I have a question please about your post here

While the two gunships remain hovering at a distance that is far outside the range of most conventional emplacements or infantry weapons (see submissions), the eight droid controlled ARC-170r heavy fighters strafe the landing zone with medium laser cannon fire as well as a duo of proton torpedoes per fighter, directed at landed ships or large clumps of infantry.
This, to me, reads as 2 gunships and 8 fighters. But then this doesn't match up with what you wrote in the same post:

Group 1:
1x Valdus Bral
Group 2:
  • 1x Tal’galaar Gunships (1/1) [Optimally staffed]
  • 1x ARC-170r Squadrons (4/4) [Escorting Gunship]
  • 2x Mandalorian Devastator (AC-12, Haran Launcher)
Could you please clarify? :)

[member="Adenn Kyramud"]

Got a question for you too! :)

There were squads of Chulan spread out everywhere, reporting in what they saw of enemy movement. However, when Adenn gave the go sign to attack on their own, they did so with gusto. Seeing as there were 1500 of them spread out, they were near practically every notable person and item from the CIS. There were 3 squads(10 per squad) of Chulan near Scherezade deWinter and co. After receiving the go signal, they made their move.

Squad 1 moved in, under their cloak, and neared the little group, still 10m out though. Squad 2 split, have going with squad 1 and half going with squad 3. Squad 3 meanwhile set up sniping positions in the trees, anywhere from 15m out all the way to 50m. Each sniper had a verpine sniper rifle while the other squads had their verpine shatterguns and shoulder mounted plasma canons. Those that were closer had their personal cloaks activated, while those further away simply hid themselves using the foliage to remain hidden.
Do you mean that there are a total of 1500 people with personal cloaking devices? Is there a submission for this? Personal clocking devices are on the restricted list, which usually limits them to Semi-Unique,

Semi-Unique (A single small unit, squad, or squadron)
The definition of small;

Unit Size: [ This is how many individuals make up a single unit. Choose from Small (each unit is small, comprising a dozen members or less), Medium (moderately sized units, often specialized), Large (many individuals, often compromising the rank and file). ]

I think you may be misunderstanding my formatting. So I say:

Group 1:
1x Valdus Bral
Group 2:
  • 1x Tal’galaar Gunships (1/1) [Optimally staffed]
  • 1x ARC-170r Squadrons (4/4) [Escorting Gunship]
  • 2x Mandalorian Devastator (AC-12, Haran Launcher)

The fighters are the ARC's. So the format is:

1x ARC-170r Squadron

Squadron being the operative word here. After that I have:

(4/4)

Which is the description of how many ships are still left in that squadron. Group 1 and Group 2 have a single ARC-170r formation. Each formation is 4 fighters. So then there are a total of 8 fighters across the groups.

I think that addresses your question?

I'm just going to pop into this thread and make a clarification for something that has been brought to my attention, and I know it might be inconvenient if it has been taken into other people's following posts but for future posterity.

These Space Mines that I created (Used in this post, hidden in the spoiler) are meant to be used exclusively in space. It is a space mine and does not function properly if used on the ground, so please if you plan to use them in the future, refrain from using them incorrectly, which brings me to another point.

This submission was made exclusively for use by the Sith Empire. While the UCM is an ally of TSE, this does not/should not entitle them free reign of our entire armory and equipment stores without at the very least consulting a high ranking member of the Sith Imperial Legion or Armada ICly, or speaking directly to the original creator of the submission as to prevent it from being written outside of its intended use. While ultimately I would ask that you remove this usage of the submission from your post, if it has already been taken into account by multiple writers, you may keep them there this one time.

[member="Kor Vexen"]

I sincerly apologize, I was told and led to believe it'd be ok to use them in such a capacity. I will be removing them from my posts. As for the reason I was using them, it was going to be/or already was, given ICly by someone who said we could go ahead and use them for this particular invasion. Once again, I apologize and will be removing the mines from my spoilers, etc.

[member="Scherezade deWinter"]

Sorry about not making that clear. I forgot to add in a line or similar that only certain squads have the cloak. Apologies for the confusion, I shall edit my post so that it states only certain squads have the cloak. I do not have a specific sub for them as a unit, I do have them as their people. Off the top of my head I can't remember how populace they are, but in my edit I shall try to reflect that once I have the data before me. Once again, apologies for the confusion, the post shall soon enough reflect that only certain squads have them. :)

Mittens

So fluffy, you'll die
Welp, it has come to my attention that Vanessa Vantai and her fleet have been ejected from the thread due to OOC technicalities.

And, just when I thought I was free of this nonsense, I get dragged back in. Kicking and screaming all the way.

*sigh*

Oh well.
