Though technically born on the lush world of Lujo, Auraya has known little more than the interior and grounds of various different academies and mobile training facilities. Taken in by the Jedi Order while still just a babe, she was raised with their ideals and outlook on the Galaxy and came to know kinship through their teachings despite lacking any true family of her own. She proved to be a pleasant enough child, easy to console and with an agreeable temperament her earlier years were filled with quickly achieved milestones which led many to eagerly anticipate her future.
When she became of an age to focus her studies, however, they found only a girl who struggled to comprehend their more in-depth teachings. While aspects of philosophy, literature, and other studious matters could be comfortably taught, when it came to her training of the Force and Lightsaber usage they soon found themselves at a loss. Every single step was achieved at a laborious crawl, many days saw her incapable of drawing upon the Force much less putting it into effect, and the head start she had secured simply slipped from her fingers.
Over the years many would try and fail to assist her. While progress was achieved it was minimal, enough that they could not wholly give up hope but not so much that any one person felt as though they were making any real headway. She passed through the hands of many potential Masters, and more mentors than she could count, somehow remaining determined and eager to learn despite the hurdles she faced each day.
Soon enough it came to the point wherein Auraya felt certain she was close to losing her position within the Jedi. There was only so much that could be done, after all, and the Jedi were close to exhausting their options. No method of teaching had truly helped her understanding, and soon enough she would be old enough to find her own way in the Galaxy without having to rely upon those who had raised her.
One last chance, that was what it felt like when she was informed that she was being assigned a new Master. One final opportunity to prove she had what it took...
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Determination; Though at times it may feel as though the Jedi have almost given up on her, Auraya keeps working to prove her worth
Adaptability; Auraya has faced many tutors, each with their own methods of teaching, and thus she has grown quite capable of adapting to new mentors and situations
Ardent; Though she may not be particularly good at any aspect of her lessons, she is always earnest in her attempts to learn
Underperformer; Despite the many mentors who have tried to take her under their wing, Auraya is still greatly lacking in many of the key skills expected by a Jedi who has been learning as long as she has
Self-Doubt; As much as she is determined to prove her worth, there are a great many times where she feels out of touch with her own capabilities and questions whether she's meant to be a Jedi at all
Disappointment; With how many mentors she's failed over the years, it's hard for Auraya to remain positive of her future prospects. These days she will go above and beyond to avoid further disappointing those around her, and finds verbal confrontation difficult to contend with
Sheltered; Auraya has experienced very little of the greater Galaxy first hand, lending to a rather naïve outlook on what lies beyond the Academy
