Private Crash Landing (Devaron)

Crash Landing

“No, not again.”

Jasper slammed his hand against the center console of his ship, the Philosopher. It was no use. The vessel’s left foil engine was beginning to studded and give, the remnant of a dog fight he had been in a few days ago. He had been forced to pull out of hyperspace, finding himself above the jungle planet Devaron. Unfortunately for the exile, he quickly realized that he wasn’t exactly going to have a smooth landing.

“Everything okay, kid?” Asked his mentor Dex over the coms.

“Yeah, it’s fine,” Jasper lied to the Nautolan. “Look, I gotta go. See you in a few days.”

Jasper hung up, immediately preparing his vessel to reduce the force of the impact. Before long, the Philosopher was plummeting through the planet’s green atmosphere, the large vines of the jungle below coming into view. Turbulence increased, rattling the bottles of alcohol Jasper had stored below deck. Despite the shaking, the exile managed to get the Philospher into a glide, easing it down toward the surface. Unfortunately, he went where two large vines had woven together. The ship came to an abrupt stop, becoming ensnared between the foliage. The force threw Jasper forwards, causing him to hit his forehead on the dashboard. Blood began to trickle down the side of his head from a wound created by the impact. The exile slid onto the floor, clutching his forehead.

“Of course,” he sighed with irritation. “Of course it would be me.”

He stood, glancing out the window and assessing the situation. There seemed to be no settlements in sight and the jungle stretched as far as the eye could see.

“Great. Just great.”

Devaron. A quick pitstop before they reached their true destination: Teyr. The pair had found themselves called back that way on behalf of the Galactic Alliance, a journey which had been preceded by a whole host of unexpected madness. Mostly the good kind, of course, Auraya had found herself with a Master once more, a willing one no less, and they'd traveled to various spots before being called back.
Corellia, where she'd found herself sparring a stranger - a very weird situation indeed - then Christophis with its crystalline forests, and Mon Gazza where the riots had erupted and she'd almost lost Davron Feln Davron Feln entirely. Back to Corellia... Now this.
She'd never been to Teyr before, nor had she been among the New Jedi Order since picking Davron up from Epoch, so suffice to say she was feeling last minute nerves as they prepared for the final leg of their journey. From there? Well who knew what awaited them.
"I'm going to stretch my legs a little" she told her Master as he sorted out refueling the ship and gathering what few supplies they needed to replenish. With the droids on hand it was at least not an impossible task for him, despite his sightless state. "I'll stick close by."
That, it would turn out, was a lie. For as she stepped down into the surrounding jungle she saw a strange sight on the horizon. A jet of smoke following a quickly descending ship - barely in control. All thoughts of sticking close fled her mind, and instead she began to head in the direction of the falling ship at a rapidly increasing rate.
For once in her life, Force Speed was certainly coming in handy.

Jasper unwrapped his bandaged arm, allowing the warped scar tissue that made up the majority of the skin shoulder-down to be exposed. He rarely let it be seen, usually to avoid scaring customers and other people he may encounter. Sith lightning was no joke. It was something Jasper was sure to not make the mistake of underestimating twice, lest his entire body be reduced to a raisin. The exile used the wrap to cover the wound on his forehead, knotting it tightly above his ponytail. Now all he had to do was get out and assess the damage.

Jasper lowered the rear lift-door to find that he was, fortunately, only a meter or so off the ground. Unfortunately, the Philosopher was suspended above the ground by vegetation, something that would surely make taking off a hassle. He wasted no time climbing up the side of his ship and opening the main access panel. It was full of fried circuits which required replacement, but nothing severe. The only problem was time. It would take Jasper hours to cut his ship loose and repair it, and that time was dramatically increased by being on a jungle planet he knew very little about.

“Alright,” he sighed. “Let’s get this over with. Maybe next time I’ll crash on a tropical world.”

The exile whipped a soldering tool out of his pocket and began removing the busted components.

Though she'd set off in the direction of the falling ship, the towering trees and dense foliage made it rather difficult to track once she was in the jungle proper. Her pace was rushed, though each step she took was as cautious as she could be. The last thing she needed was to trip and injure herself.
Suffice to say it was no easy feat. Yet what brief snippets of the sky above she could deduce left lines through the clouds as well as a small plume of smoke to guide her.
When she came upon the ship though she didn't notice it at first. She saw some devastation close by, fallen trees, branches, and leaves, but the actual ship itself seemed to elude her.
Then she heard it; a grumble overhead.
Auraya tipped her head up and peered through the leaves. All at once the outline of the ship was made clear to her and she sort of just gawped at it in surprise. It was actually really rather close, she'd just not expected it to be in the trees rather than on the ground.
"Are, uh... Are you okay up there?" she asked, frantically glancing around in search of some way she could clamber up. After all, if the passengers were injured they couldn't rightly respond now could they?

"Are, uh... Are you okay up there?"

"Jeez!" Jasper reacted with a jump, nearly falling off the foil of his ship.

The exile scrambled to catch his tool, which was now fumbling about in his hands. Jasper finally clasped onto the welding device, tucking it securely in the hatch before peering over the side of the Philosopher. A blonde-haired girl with bright blue eyes was standing just below the vessel having appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Jasper wiped dirt off of the bridge of his nose with his scarred right arm as he tried to think of a response.

"Y-yeah, I'm great. Just... sightseeing," Jasper lied with a brief stammer. Of course, it was obvious that he had an injury on his head, but he hoped that the stranger wouldn't notice. Jasper glanced around, searching for where the girl might have come from. "Uh... where did you come from?"
