  • I protecc: The Aegis does exactly what it is supposed to - stick to the bigger capital ships and pack a punch to keep other ships like pesky Corvettes at a distance or to take them out of equation completely.

  • I safe: The Aegis boasts substantial defence measures as well, which makes it very difficult to take it out of the equation to get close to bigger vessels.

  • I'll accept that compliment: The Frigate could easily hold a squadron of support craft that could help it out in a pickle, keeping it even safer.

weaknesses.gif

  • Hungry: The Aegis may have a substantial energy weapon, but it is energy hungry, which would take substantial time to recharge. This is a fire only when necessary situation, as the ship's reactor would be straining to power it along with other weapons and the substantial defences.

  • Not very helpful: That squadron of support craft that it carries could come in handy in a crunch, but it's still only one squadron. Numbers can always overwhelm both the squadron and the Aegis.

  • Intricate Technology: The Aegis has some intricate technology, weapons and defences. If something goes wrong somewhere, Johnny and his astromech won't be able to do a quick-fix, as most systems require specialist hands to sort out the problem or to fix damage.

Hester Shedo Hester Shedo and the shipyards of Jaemus continue to put forth more modern vessels for the Renoux House Fleet, the newest being the Aegis-Class Escort Frigate that follows the Javelin-Class Attack Corvette out the gates.

The Escort Frigate boasts impressive firepower and defensive capabilities, albeit at the sacrifice of its maneuverability and speed. It would be a boon for larger vessels to have the Aegis accompanying them and sticking to them like glue, fulfilling its design of protection.

Hi, I'll be your judge today. This is another good submission, I just have a few things I'd like to clear up with you before I approve this.

Sterdo Industries

Do you have permission to use Hester Shedo and Sterdo Industries as the manufacturer of this submission?

Bandorium

Material: Impervium, Duranium, Durasteel,
Anti-Sensor Bandorium Coating, Agrinium-based Radiation Insulation, Glasteel and various other materials.

To quote the Wookiepedia Article "Many people believed that it was a key part of cloaking devices." An anti-sensor Badorium coating such as this appears to be a stealth system, which according to the rules is a restricted material and can only be used in a semi-unique or unique submission. Please either remove the material or reduce the submission to semi-unique.

Average

That's average: The Aegis is not particularly agile and fast. A faster vessel or even swarms of support craft could easily overwhelm it before the Frigate has a chance to react accordingly.

Being average is not a weakness, and this weakness is very similar to your "Not very helpful weakness" weakness, being overwhelmed by numbers. Please remove the "That's average" weakness.

Hyperdrive

What a limp: Disable the primary hyperdrive and the Aegis is virtually a sitting duck. It can limp away, but it would be easy to pursue and finish it off.

Could you please explain this to me? The ship has a secondary Hyperdrive, which would mean that it can still jump to hyperspace, even if the primary hyperdrive is disabled. A lower class hyperdrive just means it's slower, it doesn't have any effect on the ship's ability y to jump to hyperspace, which is the same for all drives.

Please look through my notes and let me have your thoughts.

Thank you for walking me through this! Still a bit new to me.

So!

Permission is added. Hope it's all right.

Bandorium is removed.

I agree with you here - I wasn't entirely happy with the weaknesses to begin with. So I reworked the weaknesses a bit.

I changed this weakness as well. I see what you mean. My reasoning (granted it was late night) was that it would be easier to track and pull from hyperspace due to being slower with the backup.

It wasn't very good reasoning, I admit, so I reworked the weaknesses. I hope they make a bit more sense now.
