"You're welcome!" he hollered as Amani thanked him for the practice blade and then looked over to his friendly Knight whom he had known since before he even joined up with the Jedi. "Yeah, of course. Let's switch!" Obviously, the Padawan was not about to be given a lightsabre but he could always hope. Although some moments were better suited for that than others - and this was certainly a time for concentration as the situation was becoming more dire by the minute.

But then, Kei arrived. Mathieu let out a relieved sigh. While the danger was far from over, it was obvious to him that it was so much safer with the Master nearby. He trusted his allies but having stayed on the front lines for the duration of the fight, the former Mercenary was beginning to find a rythm to the battle. While he may not have been entirely aware of it himself, he was slowly but surely releasing more and more conscious control in favour of letting the force guide him. This did not prevent him from hearing the Jedi Master's words. "What is it?" he said between shooting one beast and shoving another away with his baton. Mathieu fired off another close ranged shot between looking over to Kei again "Come on, you can ask now" he said, obviously curious as to what the Master wondered.

The fight went on and peripherally, Mathieu could see Amani and Cas handle the Nekghoul whilst Kei kept up his almost dance-like fighting, making the task seem easy. It stood in a rather stark contrast to the more brutal way in which the new Padawan had been forced to fight, seeing as his weapons were more on the blunt side of things. He had a great admiration for them all - not to mention the others who provided covering fire and other support from behind. All in all, they seemed rather well equipped to face the massive wave of beasts. Well, at least before Kei arrived with his new horde which even the Master Jedi himself saw as too many.

One of the rangers was there to deal with the problem. Mathieu watched as the grenade was flung past him by Hana. Good, it could probably take out a larger number of them and perhaps even scatter them. It was a good idea which would probably give them a moment of respite.

He was wrong.

The grenade turned out to be electrical in nature and soon, the dangerous current was coursing towards them, carried via the water. While Mathieu had come to dislike affecting the outside world with the force after his training with the Soller Navah, he also knew that his friends and allies were in danger. Recalling the lesson on Aerokinesis under Jedi Master Or'Fol Moric Or'Fol Moric the Padawan summoned a powerful downwards wind above himself and his friends. It brought down dust and a some old paint and concrete - but more importantly, it pushed away the water from their feet, preventing them from getting electrocuted like the Rakghouls. It was an exhausting effort from the Morellian who struggled greatly to maintain the strong downwards pressure that kept the water away - this was clearly not his forte.

if they're watching anyways

"Yeah. Yeah, of course," she said, smiling to Charlie. Auteme felt safer. Sure, that smile she got back was a little too excited, but she knew the other girl wouldn't let anything happen to her. A little nervousness, a little excitement at odd things was something she had too. But the sense of security, that constant and consistent presence was the greatest comfort she could hope for. Not that she was excited to watch her girlfriend beat up some crazed Sithspawn.

Charlie lead the way, grabbing Auteme's hand and leaping down from their ship towards the Lucky Pines Mega Apartment Complex. Part of her was curious as to why it was named that. Given it was an ecumenopolis, Taris probably didn't have any pine trees, or any native flora for that matter. Not anymore.

As they fell Auteme found herself focused, finding the flow of the Force and the little light inside her. It was getting easier -- there were spurs of nervousness and worry, but she didn't have any trouble finding that presence that allowed her to face the challenges ahead. Of course, if she were worried -- which she wasn't, obviously -- her first thought would be about how quickly they were falling, and making mental calculations on how many bones would break on impact-

Charlie cushioned their fall and went to join the fray. Nothing to worry about.

She turned to the situation unfolding ahead. As it was, the rakghouls were being contained by the rush of the Jedi Master and fire from the various security forces. The panicking civilians were at the forefront of her thoughts as she followed Charlie closer to the fighting. She could feel their fear; with no one to guide them out of danger they could prove a danger to themselves. Everyone else was occupied. Even the Force wouldn't help her here.

She broke away, moving towards the people struggling and stumbling away from the monstrous Sithspawn. Some might've been wounded. There were elderly, there were children. There were people. Confused people looking for a way out.

"Hey!" She cried out, trying to get their attention. She raised her hand, channeling the Force into a blazing beacon for those fleeing to see. "HEY! Follow me, we'll head someplace safe! This way!"

The people turned and began to follow.

They weren't the only ones.

Like the ravenous animals they were, the rakghouls turned, drawn to the light like a moth to the flame -- attracted even as it burned them.

The mistake only dawned on Hana after the grenade was primed and had left her hand.

Nevertheless, it had been a good throw, landing directly in the middle of the incoming pack of savagely snarling rakghouls, where it would likely have maximum effect. Only a moment later, electricity lanced and crackled through the shallow water as the grenade went off, electrocuting a significant number of the charging rakghouls in the process. Already feeling an overwhelming sensation of regret and embarrassment, Hana steeled herself for the inevitable, closing her eyes as she did. She imagined her heart arresting in her chest, her nerves frying like cooked porg, and her skin burning black as a powerful electrical current surged through her body.

However, even as a slight tingling sensation lit up her nerves, the aforementioned horrific possibilities never materialized.

Instead, when she looked down, she saw that the shallow water that had previously been around her feet was gone, through what she could only explain as yet another seemingly divine manifestation of the Force. In her periphery, she saw the Jedi responsible, visibly struggling as he presumably sought the water away via a concentrated exertion of the Force. She immediately felt extremely guilty, especially since there was very little she could do to assist him in that moment, besides having not thrown the grenade in the first place. Even so, Hana still had to salvage what she could from her ill-thought decision. Already, most of the rakghoul in the incoming horde were suffering the effects of water-derived electrocution, with many convulsing as the high-powered current fried their nerves, their mutated bodies fighting to cling to what was left of life even as their hearts stopped beating within their chests. Most of the creatures were already dead or beyond saving, but those that were left persisted in their advance in spite of the electricity in the shallow water, tripping and crawling over the convulsing forms of their peers in their nigh-futile desperation to reach the Jedi.

Turning her rifle on the creatures once more, Hana fired a torrent of CryoBan discharges at the remaining rakghouls, seeking to finish the monsters off so that the group could make a successful escape from the sewers. She knew that she’d face consequences for her mistake, whether that was a demotion, a discharge, or even a court-martial. If it came to the latter outcomes, then she would have to return to Atrisia and maybe attempt to revive her now-dead A-pop career, presumably after serving whatever sentence Ranger command saw fit to give her. Even so, she still had to make it all worth it. Then, pray that the Jedi could hold long enough for the electrical charge from the grenade to run its course so that none of her allies were hurt by her mistake.

"I think so," he replied. He had to think about it.

There was a clear demarcation between then and now. The connection was still there, but back across that bridge. Acaadi took a quick mental note of the state he was in.

Nothing hurt, no more than scratches the the surface of the knife proof armour he wore. It wasn't the kind of armour he usually used, that was for blasters and lightsaber. Different protection for a blade of metal. One of the plates around his calf was loose. He pulled it away before it could catch as he jumped.

"We did that!" he said, voice jubilant as he slipped out of the form of battle trance. He offered a grin through his face plate and jumped up onto the street above.

Objective 2: Rakghoul Infestation - Secure Lucky Pines Apartments
With: Charlie Nooran Charlie Nooran Auteme Auteme Gir Quee Gir Quee

Jyoti trusted the two Padawan to follow her right down, and they didn't disappoint, immediately taking advantage of the opening she created to disrupt the movements of other Rhakghoul and guide unarmed civilians out of harms way. Tarisans on the street were initially confused by the trio literally falling out of the sky, but as they saw the first saber ignite, they knew they were in good hands.

While the Rhakghoul that had just charged her were still rattled by Charlie's shockwaves, she chucked the second grenade into the pack and snap froze them, too.

"Help me clear the street, then secure the apartments inside once the droids arrive!" She boomed to Charlie as she bounded off after Auteme.

With the Force flowing through her limbs, she accelerated and leapfrogged past the heads of Auteme and the civilians in tow, right into the heart of the next wave of ghouls. She landed right on the spine of one of the lead ghouls, driving it into the street with an audible crunch. Then she lashed out with her blade with wide slashes, cleaving several more in the process.

She leaped off the crushed Rhakghoul she had just landed on earlier, launching herself into a vertical spin through the horde of Sithspawn, scything through their heads and upper bodies as she sailed through the air. With Sitara set to incendiary mode, their bodies to continued to disintegrate from molten plasma fire instead of their wounds becoming immediately cauterized.

In a change, the remaining Rhakghoul in her immediate presence recoiled. By now, Jyoti's aura was a blaze of light as she channeled the Force. It was too much for the monsters to handle, while her nearby allies were blessed with a second wind.

They began to run, but there was no escape.

Invisible hands dragged the fleeing Rhakghoul back to face the wrath of the Shadow. Fighting actually became much tougher as the Rhakghoul became frenzied from desperate panic, resulting in a few close calls where her armor was nearly torn from glancing blows. The old Silver Shadow armor she wore afforded her great mobility, but wasn't much help in blocking a direct hit from the Sithspawn. It was built for stealth, not open battle.

It may be time for an upgrade.

While slashing and weaving through the ghouls, she felt the ground rumble. Several pods had just crashed onto empty sections of the street. The panels of the droid pods split apart and fell, revealing grinning skeletal death heads with burning crimson eyes.

uBlAUsz.gif

As they do, a stray Rhakghoul rushed at the emergent droids. It galloped at one with inhuman speed, jumping into the air for a pounce.

However, instead of landing upon the target, its chest was skewered through by a vibro-bayonet at the end of the droid's tensor rifle. Shrieking, the Rhakghoul clawed at the rifle in vain as it was effortlessly raised above the droid's head.

"MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY!" the YVH-1 bellowed in its metallic voice as it pulled the trigger. The Rhakghoul's innards froze from the insides before being pulverized. The Sithspawn slumped, then the YVH let its corpse slide off its rifle like a hunk of meat while it raised its blaster arm to target another ghoul.

"110%!" Cheered the other YVH units in unison as they fanned out, picking off more Rhakghoul with a variety of other ranged weapons.

On the street, the Jedi and Tarisans were still outnumbered by the roving Rhakghoul still pouring out of the apartments, but the balance was beginning to tip in their favor with the arrival of the YVH units cutting through the numbers of the Sithspawn.

Amani stepped back as Cas delivered the coup de grace, the two of them finishing the nekghoul in, what she presumed to be, record time. Taking a moment to breathe, she leaned forward and rested her hands on her knees, “Okay, yeah that was pretty awesome.” She panted, grinning back. Amani had never been particularly excited by battle before, something about today just seemed to be going right. Surprising, considering they were being swarmed by horrific plague-infested sith mutants.

No sooner after that thought crossed her mind was her attention turned to the electrical grenade that now threatened the group, the current racing towards them through the water. “Why do I even bother saying anything?” Mathieu had managed to push it back, sparing them for now, but visibility struggling. Amani took a place at his side, noting the technique he was using, which they had both learned in Or’Fol’s class. She diverted all her focus to helping stem the tide, “Give us some cover?”

“WHAT THE F—”

Both women had simultaneously whipped around, Yula being the far more startled of the pair. Her finger already pressing against the trigger of her heavy blaster, pointed squarely at the mystery woman’s chest. Relief spread onto her face at seeing that she was not another a part of the shambling hordes of undead. Better looking too. But the tension didn’t drop from her shoulders.

“Did you—were you in there this whole time? She gestured towards the dilapidated closet with the barrel of her gun before dropping her arm and groaning. The woman was holding a lightsaber hilt—great, another Jedi. She didn’t mind em, but the righteous act more than a few had put on rubbed he the wrong way.

Besides, her sisters had been safe before they’d taken up the mantle of Jedi.

“I’m not sure who you are, but I think we’d both like to get off of this rock alive, right?” Yula grinned, giving the blaster in her hand a twirl.

The familiar guttural roar of an approaching group of rakghoul echoed somewhere from down the hall, attracted by the sound of Yula’s earlier shout. Already able to hear the wild gnashing of their teeth, it would be too late for either of them to try and make a break for it.

“Guess there’s only one way out.” Yula checked the power pack of her pistol with a satisfied grunt. “Name’s Yula, by the way. Suppose I should tell you incase one of us doesn’t make it out.”

The prospect of facing death didn’t seem to rattle her, more annoy her.

Feth feth feth feth. Running down the tunnels, Mi'la could practically feel the breath of her persuers on her neck, which gave her just a little more motivation to keep running. She had quite literally stirred up the hornets nest, and now had an untold amount of Rak'Ghouls looking to disembowel her. Mi'la went about the turns of the sewers, trying to ignore the crazed screams and roars that followed in her wake, and desperate to see the familiar glow of a lightsaber. The sounds of blasters and explosions seemed to be a sign of something she could go with, after all Rak'ghouls didn't use weapons, so clearly she could try talking with them. Running as quick as she could, she drew her lightsaber, and called upon the force and pushed it into her legs, as her speed increased dramatically. Gaining ahead of the Rak'Ghouls, she began to call out, hoping whoever was up ahead would hear her. "DON'T SHOOT I'M FRIENDLY!" She hollared, hoping the glow from her lightsaber would indicate she wasn't a Rak'Ghoul.

Finding herself several paces ahead of the horde, Mi'la drew her second saber and begin to slash at the ancient pipes along the walls. She was greatly concerned about what this new pack might do to the rest of the group, and figured she needed to do something so she didn't get anyone hurt. As the pipes began to fall and clatter to the ground, she stowed her sabers, and moved to the next part of her plan. Reaching the end of the corridor, she redirected the power from her legs into her arms, and threw out a force wave down the hall. It drained alot out of her, much more than she had planned, but the results spoke from themselves. Several destroyed pipes hurtled towards the ensuing mass of Rak'Ghouls, and cut into the first wave like shrapnel. It didn't do much other than cause the beasts to trip over one another, but she would take the little victory where she could. Feeling her legs were a tad heavy, Mi'la continued to run towards the sounds, rather exuberant to find her fellow jedi to be the source. Unfortunately she didn't have long to tell them what was coming. "Guys-Rak'Ghouls-Tunnel-Behind-So many.,,." She panted, trying to say as much as she could, feeling her body start to ache from the strain she had just put on herself a bit ago.

Accompanied by: 1st Directorate Jump Trooper Regiment - "The Admiral's Fist"
Equipped with: Howlrunner-class Power Armor with Neti Field Cloak and Ferrazid Particle Distortion Shield; armed with Firespray Shotgun and Furor Sonic Pistol

His suit's comlink crackled to life.

"Breach in sector G11. Lucky Pine Apartment Complex! Bastards are pouring out of the sewers through the basement levels! We need rein---arrrgh!"

The comm channel briefly went dead before a series of flustered reports and movement orders began to flow through the channel. Gir flipped off and looked at Colon Saar.

"It's worse now."

"I have a large mobile reserve kept in the back for just this very thing," said the army officer, briefly holding up his hand to gesture that he was issuing the mobilization order.

That wasn't wholly unexpected. Many military commanders, but especially those in the Directorate, had a tendency to hold some of their forces in reserve but ready to deploy, just in case the unexpected happened. Perhaps the beauty of using Jump Troopers for that was that they wouldn't need their own ride - they could simply jet over there as fast as their jetpacks allowed. Though they'll probably be close to running out of fuel once they get there...That brought a realization to his mind - he didn't have a jetpack, unlike the rest of the Directorate soldiers present. The colonel lowered his head.

"I was going to say something about breaking a leg if you were going to jet off with us, but it looks like I won't have to worry about that today. Besides, it's a young man's game, as they say. And I've got something better heading our way for us two old-timers."

"A speeder or a ship," guessed the man from Hast.

The colonel nodded,"I kept the Shyyyo that brought us here just in case we needed a lift. I thought we'd have to go back to the Tide, but I guess we'll be making another pitstop first."

"Lead the way then."

The pair of men walked back to the nearby turbolift. As they did so, the colonel's protection detail folded back in on them, forming a protective phalanx around them that did bring some peace of mind to the admiral. A short ride later and the two found hustled onto the dropship, which quickly jetted away to the hapless apartment complex. Dozens of armored figures on jetpacks were landing on the complex and other nearby rooftops. He wasn't kidding about that reserve - there's got to be at least a hundred men-errr....droids here. A number of rakghouls were starting to break through windows and walk out onto balconies, prompting the Jump Troopers, policemen, and other soldiers to open fire to try and quickly take down the pathogenic menaces. A stream of the unfortunate sithspawn burst through a rooftop door, prompting the Shyyyo to steadily mow them down in a torrent of bullets with its chin-mounted mag cannon. The last rakghoul in that line collapsed, seeming to fall back down into the apartment complex. It was quiet now. Friendly warfighters began to take up coordinated, defensive positions around the area, once again cordoning off the area from the menace.

"That should hold them," quipped the colonel.

"But it won't help anyone who's stuck inside."

Gir couldn't see through the other soldier's visor but he could guess what he was thinking.

"Lets send in some of the droids," said the admiral, "there's a chance we could save someone who's trapped in there. And what are going to potentially lose? Some droids? Even if they're taken down, we can probably recover and repair them later. You can't say that about the people in there."

"You're the boss."

"Pilot," said the man, "take us down, I'm going to get off on the rooftop."

"You can't be serious."

"I'm not going to wander off and go down hunting Rakghouls - don't worry. But I want to see things close-up, with my own eyes."

"I can't stop you sir, but I'm going to dispatch two of my troopers here to escort you, just to be on the safe side."

"I appreciate that, colonel."

Cas had failed to notice the electrical grenade thrown by Hana - the galaxy around him practically slowed as he saw the electrical current begin to travel through the shallow water everyone stood upon. A thousand ideas went through his head on how to stop it, all were useless. Cas was no stranger to being shocked or electrocuted, but this was different - this one would be fatal. His muscles tensed as he braced himself to go out in the weakest way possible except... he didn't?

Narrowing his eyes on Mathieu, the new Padawan was performing a technique he'd never tried before. However, a broad smile formed as he watched his buddy do his thing, he was both proud and grateful that they were alive. Cas helped the others in finishing off the remaining Rakhgouls, slicing and dicing through the Sithspawn. Following their near death experience and when things were starting to look up, Cas would hear a familiar voice erupt from the tunnels nearby.

What emerged was his former Master's new Padawan, Mi'la. "Yo, Mi'la where'd you go?" he asked, eyebrow raised but she returned with bad news. More damn Rakghouls were on the way, and as if right on cue he heard their familiar growls coming from where Mi'la had came from. Rolling his eyes, he readied his lightsaber again "How many of these damned things are there? You'd think they'd cut their karkin' losses by now." the Knight exclaimed, growing increasingly irritated.

Objective 3: Shopping

Asal motioned his green hand toward him. Walking slowly through the small door he entered a large dark room. With a wave of his hand Asal turned on the lights, illuminating the room. Inside was rows of shelfs, lined with different force artifacts.

In one section sat many lightsabers, all with padding underneath them and glass protecting them. Another section held different armor, including a full temple guard set. The was slowly spinning in circles, looking at everything in the room. The man's collection was really impressive. But why did he bring him back here?

Looking around he didn't see Asal anywhere. The room wasn't that large, was I thinking? How did he already lose the man?

"Hmmm...young one, here you must come. Something to show you, I haven't"

Turning to his left he saw the man standing by a circular blue mat with Jedi symbols on it. He began to walk over to the man. Once he got over there Asal lowered himself onto the mat. Crossing both of his legs he took a deal breath, then let it out. The man nodded his head toward the mat, indicating for him to sit down. Crossing his legs like the man he waited for what he had to say. Asal slowly started to hover off the ground, but only by a few inches.

"Sense something about you, I did. Walking on a tightrope, you are. Between light and dark you sit. Conflict in your future, I see."

What was the man talking about? Conflict in his future? Between light and darkness? He left the Sith path a long time ago, and was never going to return to it.

"Conflict with your Padawan there is. Unknown news, revealed it will be. Broken ties between brothers, hmmm?"

The man started to chuckle. Lights began to flicker on and off. Items on the shelf began to rattle. He heard something hit the floor.

"What are you talking about? The Dark side? I left that a long time ago, and I'm not returning."

"So sure, are you? Hmm hmm. Control your future, you cannot. Rise again, the darkenss will."

More stuff fell off the shelfs. Asal was now a few feet off the ground. He jumped as glass shattered. Looking over the cased-up lightsabers all activated. All of them were glowing red. Freaked out, he grabbed the Firkrann and made a dead sprint toward the door. Busting through it he entered the main shop.

Standing in front of him was a family of Rodians. The mother and the kid screamed, jumping behind the father. The father spread out his arms, trying to protect his family. Wanting nothing to do with the, he ran out the door into the open streets. After a few looks from people he quickly dropped into an alleyway.

Leaning against the wall he tried slowing down his breathes. He was still trying to comprehend what just happened. Looking down at his hand he saw his clenched fist, still holding the crystal. Lifting it up to his eyes he opened his fingers. The crystal still had its white coloring, but a faint red shine could be seen. Quickly shoving it into his pocket he tried to forget what just happened.

The effort of holding the electrified water away had been rather straining for the new Padawan. It was fortunate that the effects of the grenade wouldn't linger for all too long and it was even more fortunate that Amani was there to do it too once the Nekghoul had been dealt with. He was studying the electrical effects carefully and as soon as they seemed to have ceased completely, he let up and bent over, arms resting on the knees as he panted heavily. Soon, the water came flooding back and once more wettened his boots. Looking up to the Mirialan, a smile spread across his lips "It is my time to thank you, isn't it? Thanks, I don't think I would've been able to hold it alone"

Soon he could hear another familiar voice from the Aerokinesis class - it was Mi'la. Mi'la and a bunch of growling noises from the Rakghouls who were chasing her. Mathieu's eyebrows rose as he saw how many of the beasts seemed injured already. Looking to the Twi'lek Padawan, he sent her a knowing smile "Softened them up for us already?" he asked whilst moving towards their new front. It was fortunate that they had been able to clear our the previous pack because if they had not, chances were that they would be surrounded. While Hana's grenade had caused him quite a bit of stress, it had also been extremely efficient.

Raising his blaster upon arriving by the front of the group, the former Mercenary started firing into the pack of new arrivals - they were less numerous than the previous horde they had faced so he had high hopes that they would manage to get through this wave without any injuries too. Still, many of them had been fighting for quite some time now and fatigue did increase the risk of injuries. With that, he tried to compose himself as best as he could, bracing for when the Rakghouls would eventually get close enough to launch their attack.

Inara watched as Private Park tossed a grenade into a group of advancing rakghouls. And she braced for the explosion – but her eyes widened to see the that it was an electrical attack. Her lips parted, to yell, to holler, but no sound came.

And as the current crackled, it took out a dense group of the creatures.

Her heart seemed to skip a beat. But as she stood waiting for the charge to zap, she was amazed to see the water retreating – or rather, being pushed away from their group. Inara was too stunned to even notice that Mathieu and Amani were the source of this phenomenon.

But she did hear the call for cover fire – that she definitely understood.

Moving to Hana's side, she gave her fellow ranger a small, encouraging smile. They were both new to this, but they'd surely get through it. Inara readied her blaster rifle again, and her finger found the trigger. The horde of rakghoul seemed to move in waves, bodies clustered closely together. If she fired into a group of them, she was sure to hit something. But Inara's finger twitched and hesitated at the sight of a Twi'lek woman running out.

With only time enough to glance to the side at the Twi'lek, she noted other speaking to her. Maybe it was one of their fellows? No matter, Inara soon turned her attention back to the rakghouls that were spilling out of the tunnels where the purple-hued woman had come from.

Her warning well heeded, Inara fired several shots into the swarm. But there were so many that it was hard to tell when kills were made – as there was always another to take its place. Was this place going to get completely overrun? They either needed to think about retreating or find a way to get the job done and secure the area.

In the darkness, Tracyn would lead the way on account of his experience in tracking. Josh didn't mind. He was a practical man, and to him, whoever was best suited to the task was the one suited to taking point here, regardless of rank. And he knew Tracyn well, he would do just fine. He instructed for them not to touch the walls after Sakadi tried to ask about touching them, and not to use the voices in their heads. Normally, he would disagree. He looked to Ura with a bit of worry, and with his free arm he motioned towards her quietly to Tracyn to indicate this could be a problem with her. And with her race, it would be. He had taught her to speak using the Force due to her weakened ability to use actual speech. He hoped Ura would be able to manage, though. If not, well... In an emergency, he was sure it wouldn't be the end of the world to at least try to speak with telepathy.

He wasn't touching the walls either. He had no intentions of bringing the plague back to his family. But luckily Tracyn seemed to take point and decide they should follow the tracks. Fine with him.

"Lead on, Tracyn."

Fortunately, Hana had set her grenade to the high current setting, which lent it significantly more lethality at the expense of a shorter active period. Upon realizing that the Jedi had thoroughly bailed herself and everyone else out of what would have been an undoubtedly painful end, Hana gave a sigh of relief. Electricity and water were always a lethal combination, but Jedi were capable of working miracles beyond mere mortal understanding. The desire to witness their miracles in-person and to find out whether she was capable of performing them herself was part of why she had traveled to Silver Rest to enlist with the Rangers after leaving AYP Entertainment. She had been slightly disappointed to learn that she didn’t have any Force-sensitivity after taking her first physical, but Hana had never lived her life depending on the luck of a lottery ticket. She had always made do with what she had, and if it didn’t work, she moved on or found a way she could contribute regardless of her limitations. That was exactly how she had found so much success in her A-pop career, by training her dancing skills to the point that they were second to none, allowing her to be selected for a coveted spot in the debut group for Celestial Girls whereas other trainees who were more experienced had failed.

After finishing off what remained of the rakghouls in the initial wave that had been led to the group by Kei Westbrook, Hana’s rifle clicked empty, immediately after she finished off three more of the charging beasts. She reloaded the weapon just as another Jedi, who was followed closely by a second wave of the snarling monsters, arrived on the scene.

She was beginning to think that leading all of the mindless creatures to a singular place wasn’t such a good idea, after the group had barely survived the first time.

Regardless, the arrival of a second wave presented them with the choice to either stand and fight, or retreat to higher ground, in the hopes that the reinforcements there would be able to assist them.

Perhaps for the sake of her own desire to rectify her mistake, Hana wasn’t quite ready to leave yet.

After slamming a fresh CryoBan cell into her rifle, Hana nodded back to her fellow Ranger, silently affirming to the medic that she was holding up okay for the moment. It came as a surprise to her that the woman didn't seem visibly angry at her for nearly killing the entire group, but that thought was quickly pushed into the back of her mind in the intensity of the engagement. Her features took on a determined set as she took aim at the incoming horde, a process which didn’t take long given the fact that there were so many of the creatures in such a small space. Then, she squeezed the trigger, firing off a rapid-fire salvo of overloaded CryoBan discharges in a literal attempt to freeze the salivating, seemingly endless horde of mutated monstrosities in their bloodthirsty charge towards the Jedi and their Antarian Ranger allies...

Ura looked at Tracyn, and slowly began to talk to herself in Lerdos. "Don't listen to the voices. Don't listen to the voices." It probably sounded like some sort of Witch chant to the untrained ear, but it was her way to try and stay in the real world right now. Ignore the calling. Focus on the mission. She then heard Sakadi talk. She hadn't really met her before, but something caught her attention. She then spoke up with her usual monotone, not using any telepathy this time to avoid opening any paths into her mind.

"Well.... You can throw me in a disinfector for the trip back. No problem for me. And... yeah. Cave walls are actually wet pretty often. Back on Yurb my family would take trips to the high-land continent to see the mountains and caves. Most are wet somewhere, and that's on a desert planet." Ura would also continue to look around, her glowing eyes more noticeable in the shadows. This would be a long mission.

Ooo

Her head lurched back, and she tensed up. Her reaction to her reaction was well -- shocked, but she found some humor; it was in her slight smirk. But she bit down to hide it.

"Yikes. Sorry."

Yula Perl said:
“Did you—were you in there this whole time?”

"N-not the wholee time..." Her voice went up on the end, perplexed, she actually tried to calculate the minutes. She dug a finger into her chin... "I literally just fell through...to here."

"I--"
She heard the cadence of shuffled feet....inhuman feet, holding herself back from what she was going to say, "Cynna...and at least its hit one, hurt one free!" She laughed before thumbing her weapon to life, in a hand over hand spin before pushing the hilt out in front of her; her blades left a green, iridescent highlight over both sides of her frame.

She threw herself forward, whirling toward the pack. She pivoted around and snapped up her foot sideways knocking one back with a kick somewhere uh towards the face probably. She completed her spin by bringing the lower end of her staff around wide -- she could feel the slight tension as she sheered through flesh.

Cynna extended her hands. She hit a beast with a force shove that she didn't think she still had the strength to deliver, and the feral ghoul went tumbling backward.

"Dying is great and all...but like I never planned on going this way--not gonna give these maggot mouths the satisfaction. Soooo can we like push forward here? Curious...is all."

Finally the electrical current relented, and Amani and Mathieu could drop their focus on the water. She panted, smiling back at Mathieu, “You’re welcome. Just paying it back... and, y’know, really didn’t want to get fried to death.” Her exasperated chuckle turned into a sigh of irritation as more rakghouls emerged on the scene, chasing one of her peers, who she also recognized from the aerokinesis class. “They just don’t stop, do they?”

With a deep breath, she stood up straight centering herself to face the oncoming wave. “We need to keep them at bay for as long as possible. We can’t get overrun.” Hana had already gotten turn work on it as well, slowing them down with her Cryoban shots. An idea popped into Amani’s head. The layer of water around them was thin, but there was still more than enough to play with. She began to manipulate the liquid, twisting and shaping it before blasting it forward in a small wave, drenching a number of the monsters in the front lines, looking back to Hana now, “Hit them now! They’ll freeze faster covered in water!” One leapt forward, Amani managing to stab it with her pike just in time. It clawed desperately to reach her, but the length of the weapon kept it far enough away, and it died from the injury not long after.

“Anybody hiding anything really big they want to use? Cause now might be the time!”

Combat was a place Charlie felt at home. It was one of the few places she didn't have to think about what she was saying or what people thought of her. There wasn't a reason to talk to people; socializing was unnatural for the youth of the shadowed figures back on Tython. Their lives were designed to fight for the Light.

Charlie moved with a grace she typically didn't have as the hammers found their way through the skulls of the oncoming rakghouls. She watched as Auteme moved quickly towards the civilians from the corner of her eye, a hesitation as the next swing missed the rakghoul that ducked. Charlie felt a sudden shove from one of the tackling rakghouls. Landing on her back, she used the hammers crossing over each other; they protected her like a shield from the jaws that snapped terribly close to her face and neck. One bite spelled only a disaster.

"Oh gross," Charlie groaned, as the smell of blood and death shared air with her. Her mind tried to playback the biology lessons that she had received from her Master. She tried to remember if the plague was airborne and if it wasn't, she hoped that this strain didn't develop it. Lean muscles found their strength within the Force as she lunged forward. With the contact returning, she used the hammer's sonic waves to push off the large rakghoul.

As he started to fall, Charlie twisted her waist and swung both of her hammers at the same time across her body. The metal connected with the jaw of the beast as gravity became its enemy. Bones and blood scattered as the Padawan decapitated the creature. Bringing her hand up to wipe the blood that scattered upon her face, she looked towards her Master, Jyoti burned with the light side of the Force and fought with a grace she could only dream of. The Padawan feeling the inspiration from her Master, soon found herself surrounded one more. Each clap of her hammers sent waves of sonic energy through the rakghouls, throwing them off as she slammed the weapon into their fragile skulls.

It was then she found herself starting to get overwhelmed. It was as if the creatures had learned to avoid her attacks. Jumping when she slammed the ground with the weapons. They continued to move towards her, and Charlie did her best to swing with the might of her Force fueled frame. As the horde's snapping jaws drew closer, the K'paur found herself dangling in mid-air, swinging her hammers and flailing her legs.

One of the YVH-1's had grabbed Charlie and picked her up from the pile. Soon the rakghouls met their maker and were nothing but stained corpses upon the ground. Charlie found her footing and blinked quickly. Unsure of what she was seeing, her feet picked up, and she ran to Jyoti.

"When-WHEN DID THE DROIDS GET REALY SCARY?" She shouted as her eyes scanned quickly, looking for where Auteme had run off to. Her heart raced not only from the thrill of combat, but her worry was rising, knowing that a book can only deflect an attacker for so long. "Where's Auteme?"

Objective T W O

The allusion to literally phasing through the wall had been lost on Yula.

In the end, it didn’t bother her—weirder things happened than women falling out of closets! Like rakghouls. Those were more pressing.

The Zeltron let out a low whistle as Cynna sliced her way through the shambling horde, feeling fortunate that she happened upon someone who knew their way around a fight. Discovering civilians in the middle of a hellscape like this would’ve only complicated things.

With her free hand, Yula impaled a ghoul’s neck with her nail implants, drawing the durasteel nails through with a sharp flick of her wrist. The creature’s throat became eviscerated so severely that the head lolled to the side before dropping unceremoniously to the ground.

Cringing at the viscera on her nails, Yula shook her hand to try and dislodge some of the undead guts. “Ugh, ewww.”

Her other hand drew back, catching one in the chest with a deadly blaster bolt. Spinning on her heel, another took a pair of shots, one in the shoulder and another in the head.

“Be my guest!” She called over the din. “Don’t need my approval!”

Another wave approached, heedless of the corpses of their brethren as they ambled towards the two women. Yula clicked her nails together in annoyance. “Let’s knock em over like bowling pins.”

The blaster found it’s holster in an instant, and Yula extended both hands forward. A wall of Force materialized in front of her and she pushed, sending the invisible barrier rushing forward to knock back ghouls left and right. Simple, yet effective.
