  • Water resistant.
  • EMP/Ion resistance. (Reinforced Duraplast Frame, Deionizer)
  • Optional Generator for extended use.
  • Optional Tripod
STRENGTHS
  • High rate of fire, shooting continuous beams.
  • Cold damage coupled with the tensor effect of compressed tractor beams makes the weapon quite devastating against armor and flesh.
  • Can link with an optional generator for near unlimited ammo capacity.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sustained fire for more than a few seconds results in increasingly high recoil until the weapon becomes nearly uncontrollable. A tripod can be used to mitigate recoil, but it comes at the cost of remaining stationary.
  • Against shielded targets, the Yeti functions like a standard tensor rifle until the shielding is brought down.
  • The generator is very heavy, weighing almost as much as a heavy set of personal body armor on its own, impacting mobility.
  • As a full sized assault rifle, the Yeti can be difficult to use in cramped quarters.
  • While resistant to some ion/emp attacks, a particularly powerful attack can still overload the rifle and cause a temporary shut down.
DESCRIPTION

In a bid to secure a contract with the Alliance to produce cold weapons for the war effort against the Bryn'adul, KSA created a novel variant of the tensor rifle favored by the Squibs. It incorporates temperature changing mechanics from osmotic fields, firing a special tractor beam that drains energy from the surface of matter to snap freeze the molecules. Secondary mini tensor emitters ringing the main emitter function just like a normal tensor rifle, shooting compressed beams of tractor energy to hammer against the now very brittle molecules to shatter them apart. This process happens several hundred times a second, allowing the weapon to quickly bore through armor and flesh, interrupting bodily functions. Even elite Byrn'adul normally resistant to energy weapons are vulnerable to this method of attack. Such an advantage allows the Yeti to be immediately lethal, unlike other cold weapons like cryoban rifles.

While originally designed for use against the Bryn'adul, the Yeti functions well against other organic enemy types like Vong biots and Sithspawn, which often boast high resistance and impressive regenerative capabilities against standard weapons. Cells are rendered inert before they are pulverised by tensor beams.

The addition of an optional generator and tripod can turn the rifle into a light support weapon like a semi-fixed machine gun.
