One of the Jedi, a young Cathar, spoke up against the Shistavanen... with remarks that left Shai puzzled for a few seconds. The kiddo dug up some history that Shai even forgot about years ago. "Alpha's not the problem anymore, kiddo." She remarked, turning to face the young Jedi.

Was she going to have to fight her? She hoped not. Although it would likely be better for her to engage the young Cathar. Last thing they needed now was for someone like Siv to tear her apart. "This ain't your fight. Do yourself a favour, don't get involved in this." She spoke with a more gentle tone. The rest have been through the ringer dozens of times. The newer ones didn't have to be there. They didn't need a baptism of fire.

But of course, nobody would see it that way. Perhaps she was soft. Perhaps the years really have extinguished the Wardog's hellfire. She contemplated her options if things went south... very little of it was meant for less lethal engagements. Maybe there was still a slight chance for peace...

Or not.

In a matter of seconds, everything went to hell as the Jedi and Mandalorians clashed. Shai let out a heavy sigh as she slid her helmet on and drew her pistols, flipping them over to stun mode. "Better me than them, kiddo." She remarked before letting loose with a torrent of stun bolts at the Cathar. Her jetpack propelled her into the air as she took aim at her body and fired her grappling line in hopes of ensnaring the Jedi.

In the corner of her eye, she noticed Yael squaring off against one of Valery's friends... on foot. :: Yael, keep your distance. You can't match them in melee. :: She called out over the comms at Yael Kandar Yael Kandar before turning her attention back to the Jedi in her crosshairs.

The moment Siv got up from the dirt, Valery stood ready and stared him down. She wasn't grinning, smiling or showing any real emotion beyond her focus. The time for jokes was over, and all she cared about was bringing the Jedi back home. All of them, which relied heavily on Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren and Lily Decoria Lily Decoria making their way out of there. Until they were secured, she'd have to prolong this fight or take down this blood-eager Mandalorian.

"You still don't see how pointless this is?"

Valery sighed and watched him respond, as he blasted off into the sky with his jetpack. It was a common tactic to use, but she had no reason to exhaust herself trying to go after them. Instead, she stayed right where she was, and brought up a hand to summon a barrier of Force energy around her. It shielded her against the barrage of disruptor bolts, as well as the whistling birds he fired her way. The explosions, however, were powerful and created a lot of smoke around her bubble.

A bubble that couldn't stop him from entering, but that wasn't the point.

Having sensed his approach, Valery turned her body away from the incoming knife, and forced her blade to lock with him once more. But in her defense, the little vibrospines cut into the side of her shoulder, leaving a shallow cut but one they filled with poison. Pain rushed through her entire arm, then her body, and she knew she'd have to accelerate her plan. Now that he was up-close, all of the energy she had stored within her was ready to explode.

And fueled by her pain.

From the center of her chest, an explosive wave of deadly Force energy rapidly expanded, vaporizing the dirt and ground directly around her, while it sought to lash out at the Mandalorian in his armor. It was the kind of force she rarely turned against other people, knowing how little chance it typically gave for survival, but she was left with no choice and knew his armor could absorb more of the attack.

Her Force Repulse would hopefully bring him down.

By the time it ended, whether or not it had its intended effect, Valery was left breathing much heavier, and was still forced to use more of her energy to suppress the pain as well. She jumped back, drew her blade and focused her senses to find him through all of the smoke and dust in the air.

Jonyna was quick to react, a burst of flame shooting from her feet to launch her into the air, out of the way of the stun bolts. "Kiddo?! Excuse you, I'm close to a thousand at this point!" She yelled as she drew Lucy, slashing at the Mando with a blade of fire that projected from the saber towards Shai Maji Shai Maji . She'd learned from Caldera how to deal with beskar. Heat it, then cool it. Then break it. If she could get the armor off his wolfwoman, she could take her out of the fight.

"Do you even hear yourselves?" Sahan shook his head. "I'd heard the Jedi couldn't be trusted. Your lot has definitely proved that. And now I'm starting to think you're just straight up evil. Not at all the fake image of peaceful negotiators you pretend to be to the Galaxy. I'll give a little allowance for the girl. The Force suppressant is a bit of a hallucinogenic, so she may not be fully in her right mind. Maybe she actually believes the lies she's spouting." Sahan shrugged. "Either way, there's no reason to just let you go with a warning anymore. You squandered that chance."

It was obvious the Jedi was reluctant to rush in and face him head-on, as well she should be. Normally, Mandalorians preferred mid-range to long-range combat when engaging Jedi or Sith, but Sahan had taught himself a revamped version of Rising Phoenix with Mandalorian Core and other martial arts mixed in. As long as he had his armor on, he felt confident he could equal, maybe even surpass, any Jedi in close quarters. Even if they used their sorcery to augment themselves, Sahan was enhanced by his armor systems, and they didn't run out of stamina.

A rattling of the holding cell told Sahan that it would not be very long before the padawan got full use of her magick back. He would have to end this fight quickly, before she would be able to free herself. It would be a simple task, since only the mechanical lock had been engaged. And since the Jedi was reluctant to make the first move, he would. He had no qualms about being as brutal as he need to be. He didn't want to kill either of them if he didn't have to, but there magick could heal them. Probably.

Sahan raised his verpine hand-cannon and fired incredibly fast Force Breaker rounds at the Jedi. He then activated his flight systems, launching himself toward the Jedi blindingly quickly, raising his beskad to swipe at her neck. The hope was that both of these quick moves would overwhelm the Jedi and distract her from the grappling line he aimed at her left leg in an effort to pull her off balance and slam her against the wall. Sahan definitely didn't mind getting brutal.

The notion he spouted of the Jedi being peaceful negotiators took her back to early memories of her own days as a Padawan—still seeking her purpose, questioning her path. Those times were often marred by her insecurities and stubbornness as she tried to outshine Brandyn, but there'd been many instances also rooted in a genuine desire to learn and understand, too.

'Why do we ignite our lightsabers at all if we're the good guys? Doesn't that ensure more violence?' A young Briana once asked Valery.

"We are peaceful when we can be, but we defend and fight back when necessary." Briana answered simply, repeating the same words she'd once been told. Tempting as it was to be drawn into his desired debate and point out the false choices the Mandalorians presented them with, Briana knew trying to sway him wasn't going to work. This individual very clearly clung to their chosen narrative. She knew that kind of stubborn thinking. Her own family was rife with it. "If you think the Jedi way is to stand idle by while people suffer, then I can only assume you're either delusional or on some kinda spice. In the later case, I'd suggest kicking that habit."

As predicted, the unnamed warrior did not move aside, but instead launched into a full scale attack.

Fair enough.

Briana raised a Force barrier just before the rounds could hit, letting the Force take the impact of the shots before barely managing to fall into a practiced dodge to get out of the way of his beskad, stumbling slightly and feeling the sting of its razored tip edge slice across the side of her neck, a fine crimson line blooming open over her skin.

Her feet found purchase to the other side of him, anchoring herself to the wall momentarily to regain her equilibrium, hardly stealing more than half a moment before the whirr and scrape of the grappling line shot out in tandem with the Force's urging for her to move.

Ignoring the pain and instinctual need to reach up to try to staunch the blood that flowed down freely and soaked into her collar, Briana moved a fragment of an inch back, narrowly depriving the hook of making its mark which briefly clanked against the floor. Not giving him the chance for a second shot at her, Briana's hand reached out, exerting her will to influence the cord into her fists grasp. Using the supernatural strength of the Force, she gave it a hard yank— turning his own tactics against him in an attempt to slam him against the hull of his own ship so that she might incapacitate him long enough for her to run and get Lily—if her Padawan didn't escape before then.

The Jedi managed to evade her shots as well as her grappling line, as well as return literal fire from her lightsaber blade. Shai had to admit that it was a rather handy feature, but not at a range like this. The first blast crashed into her deflector shield as Shai raised her vambrace, allowing her to duck and dive around the following arcs of fire. All the while she returned fire with her pistols and circled the Jedi in the air, slowly closing distance by approaching and retreating.

"A thousand? Lemme guess, cryo frozen?" She remarked. "Lookin' good at least, sis!" She quipped with a laugh before blasting down towards her. She raised her vambrace and let loose with a spray of her cryocaster in hopes of entrapping the Jedi.

Using the cryocaster's attack as a distraction, Shai let two stun grenades drop from her kit by the Jedi's feet as she blasted past and circled in the air to face her once again. "Explains the comments from earlier, though. I take it the Mando invasion of Cathar was still relatively fresh back then?" She asked as she touched down for a moment.

"Frozen is the correct term, though I didn't get the luxury of a cryopod. Fought a witch. She cursed me with a 900 year nap." Jonyna quipped back, launching a retaliatory blast of flame to negate the cryo.

The stun grenades were a surprise, causing the Cathar to snarl her ears rang with piercing sound. She needed to get back in control.
"You're starting to piss me off..."

Admittedly, she didn't even want to be in this fight. She'd made peace with the mandos through Minerva Fhirdiad Minerva Fhirdiad , she just wanted Lily back. A friend. If the mandos wanted a war though, she'd be a warrior. She could fight blind. Her senses were just a tool. And just like any other tool, there were alternatives. She felt the air on her skin, extending her sense of touch to the wind itself, just as she had trained with. Suddenly, she reached out in front of her, as the ground seemed to come alive around Shai Maji Shai Maji , wrapping around her legs and feet to hold her in place as Jonyna rushed forward, wrapping her coat around her. Hopefully the thick armorweave would protect her from any slugs the mando could throw at her.

The side of his saber had done a good job of hitting its target, sending her skidding backward in the swamps with a well placed hit. However, at the time she wasn't going to let him get away so easily. From her boots, 12 whistling birds came from different directions right in front of him. Extending his left arm, he opened up his hand to freeze the birds in mid air when they were only a few inches away, intent on getting rid of them through any means possible. So, without wasting any time he flung them in the direction of the trees to explode, igniting the treeline around them in a fiery blaze.

Before Silas could even draw another breath, she fired explosive pistol bolts in his direction to try and finish the job. The knight swiftly rolled to avoid the first bolt and managed to snap his body to the right to avoid another. However, just as he kipped up to his feet one final shot grazed the side of his arm heavily, leaving a nasty burn in its wake and Silas gritting his teeth in immense pain.

He looked to the Mandalorian with defiance and raised his lightsaber in front of him with one hand "I think I'll take that dare, Mandalorian..." he said back coldly while slowly making his way towards her. The pain was crap to say the least, but it wasn't anything he had felt before. It was going to take a lot more to keep him down, and the same was sure to be said for his opponent.

Suddenly jumping forwards, he swung his lightsaber at the warrior from all angles to try and back her up. He wasn't going to get through that armor anytime soon so the only way he was going to gain victory was to immobilize or beat her into submission. So, when she was close enough he'd snap his hand out to force push her hard into the sturdy rock formation to rattle her head inside of that tin can.

With the stun grenades having done their job perfectly, Shai took off like a Shriekhawk out of hell towards the Jedi with her jetpack before she could fully recover. Before she could draw on her power to make up for her battered senses or raise a hand to turn it on the Wardog.

Once again she fired her twin pistols with overwhelming speed, using it as cover to fire her grappling line once more in hopes of ensnaring the Jedi. If it worked, Shai would activate the stunner in her vambrace to let its electrocuting current run through the cable and immobilize the Jedi, even if just for a moment.

If she could get this one out of harm's way, she could maybe help to avoid a war with the Jedi. "This fight ain't worth it, sis. Trust me, I know." She muttered, more to herself than the Jedi.

Lily could see her Master getting into a fight with the Mandalorian and she knew that any harm that came to her Master was all her own fault. She had gotten everyone into this situation and she had caused the Jedi a great deal of harm or hurt, she wasn't even sure how she could solve the issue with it all. All that she could do was ensure that they got away. That Lily wasn't captured again, wasn't imprisoned by the Mandalorians and that she was willing to face whatever judgement the Jedi had for her accident that caused this issue.

Right now, she needed to use the Force to break her way out. She swallowed hard and focused her mind. Escape was the sole thing that she needed right now and she wasn't going to let herself be some damsel in distress.

Blasting the door repeatedly with the Force, she was forcing the cage to warp, bend and waiver. The pressure was getting more and more intense as she focused more and more on the task at hand. Her emotions were bubbling at the surface but Lily was staring at the door, slamming it over and over with the Force.

BAM!

The door was unable to keep the structural integrity as it flew off its hinges and slid forward before collapsing to the ground. Panting deeply, Lily was feeling beyond exhausted at this point but she wasn't going to allow herself to collapse. Not yet. Not till she was away from this all. Not till she knew that everyone was safe. Not till she could apologise to the Jedi who had to come risk their lives to save her. Stepping out of the cage, she walked to the exit of the ship, knowing that in her condition, she couldn't help her Master fend off the Mandalorian and that it was better to just get out of the way.

"I... Master.... I...." Her eyes were brimming with tears, she was deeply regretful that this had happened at all. Desperate to beg forgiveness but now was not the time, she realised this. Instead, she looked out and saw the other Jedi were engaged in the fighting, she needed to get away. Get to the ship, but she could barely jog there, how was she going to get away?

Dueling: Mevia Vizsla Mevia Vizsla | Soundtrack: Friction

She grew weary, he could sense it. The Force betrayed even the most skilled warriors that way. But even without it, Elias had enough experience to see desperation in a fight. Mevia Vizsla Mevia Vizsla was pulling all the stops, fighting dirty with every trick she could muster from her arsenal of Mandalorian weaponry. He’d done his best to hold his ground, keeping the pressure without pushing to hard. The time for talking was long gone, but neither of them had to die today. He only needed to break through, or to send her back in retreat. He broke his thoughts, seeing her coming back for another strafe.

Elias was quick enough to evade the cloud of noxious fumes blasted at him, but it was followed by a missile he didn’t have time to avoid. Not fully, anyway. It exploded nearby, sending the Jedi to the ground. The initial heat of the blast only lasted for a moment, but the searing pain of shrapnel embedded into his flesh remained. His ears were ringing, his vision hazy. Elias scrambled to his feet, lucky to have his saber in hand but bleeding fast through the cloth that wrapped his arms.

It was a wonder he hadn’t lost them in the explosion.

"Arbiter? The murder of innocents isn't subject to opinion. If you're torn by the reality of your actions, don't blame it on me." Her telekinetic pull had done the trick, bringing the Mando crashing down toward the ground. But she managed to soften the landing with her boot jets, and put some distance between them before Amani could follow-up.

"Show me what you got, real warrior."

The Mandalorian sought to challenge her blade to blade. Not quite the knock-down drag-out Amani had expected, but probably the next best thing. She started by firing off another missile, and in response the Jedi tore a heap of earth from the ground before her, raising it as a shield against the explosion. The shockwave was still enough to send her skidding across the soil, until she dug in her heels and stopped once more. Amani huffed, and found a slight smile, "Never said I was one. But fine."

She launched the now broken chunks of rock at Yael like a shotgun blast, then swiftly moved in at an angle with her lightsaber pike. Normally she played defensively, but part of that meant striking when the opening presented itself, and the telekinetic hail of stone was as much an attempt to overwhelm and distract, as it was to injure. Amani lunged her pike forward, stretching her arm to make full use of the weapon's reach advantage. "It's easy to pretend you're brave, when you're behind a shell of beskar."

Once again she fired her twin pistols with overwhelming speed, using it as cover to fire her grappling line once more in hopes of ensnaring the Jedi. Stun rounds weren't gonna be able to be deflected with her saber, so instead she extinguished her saber, and drew Sally with the force. The cortosis blade could absorb the shots, but that left the cable wrapping around her leg. She could sense the electricity coming, so she stabbed the cable into the ground with Liz, letting the current ground itself before finally regaining her composure.

She needed to go back on the offensive. Regain a tactical advantage.

She was already in tune with her senses through the force. Why not use that? An ability she had only used in training, now put to the test. Shatterpoint...

The jetpack. That had to had some sort of weak point to it....

The Force Blast caught Siv off-guard, even if only temporarily. Luckily he'd faced much more powerful examples of Force-based destruction. He crossed his arms in front of him, the trakar layer of plating blocking most of the destructive energy although it pushed him back a meter or two. The wave left a telltale sign of destruction in a circular radius around the Jedi. The last time Siv had seen something like that, he'd been fighting a Sith on Tython. The only difference was the color of their lightsaber, he thought to himself grimly. That and the Sith at least didn't pretend to be something they weren't.

Siv's barrage had left a thick veil of smoke over the battlefield, and now in the thick of it normal vision was near clearly obstructed. His helmet's HUD immediately switched to thermal imaging, painting the Jedi in a bright color to contrast the gray dullness of the rest of the environment. The Jedi has disengaged from the melee directly? So be it.

From his vambrace, he shot out his tarka'yayr electrowhip, the tri weave of beskar, cortosis, and ultrachrome filament able to simultaneously electrocute or stun a victim while immediately short-circuiting a lightsaber should it happen to contact with the metal cord. He aimed to wrap the Jedi around her torso, hopefully pinning her arms to her side. With his other hand, he fired rapidly with his blaster pistol at her thermal signature, using the barrage of blaster bolts to try and distract her so she wouldn't be able to properly parry or avoid the electrowhip's clutches.

The Jedi managed to avoid getting absolutely fried by her stunners... using a rather peculiar method. Did her sword... absorb the current? With the speed of everything happening, Shai wasn't sure if she saw that right. It wasn't important, she was in the middle of a fight that would hopefully just knock the daylights out of the damn Jedi so she could-

Her thoughts and frustrations ceased the moment her Jetpack cut out, completely short-circuited. He eyes went wide as she plummeted to the ground, but not before releasing a blast from her vambrace's repulsor at the Jedi. The Wardog crashed to the ground in a series of grunts, yelps and a clattering of armour. Shaking her head, she scrambled to her feet and raised her blasters to continue firing, but one or two bursts later and they both ran dry. "Kriff..." She holstered the twin pistols and instead drew her Beskad against the Jedi.

With a snarl Shai leapt to strike at the Jedi, hoping she would block. Perhaps talking to her would help clear up the confusion.

"You stupid kid, I'm tryin' to save your life here! You think I'm usin' the few harmless weapons I got on me just to kark with you?" She practically snarled as she struck at the Jedi. From her right vambrace, a round Beskar shield deployed to intercept the Jedi's attacks. Thank the Manda the others were too busy to hear her... or the gunfire and explosions were just loud enough to drown her out. Either way, she was dancing on the court martialling line all over again by doing this. She wasn't going to risk total excommunication for a second time. "If any of the others were fighting you, you'd be dodging blaster bolts and missiles from here to Coruscant." She continued as she swung at the Jedi's hands.

Beskad was a terrible idea to get her point across...

AllianceDiscordIcon2.png

Jonyna's non-traditional training came in handy at this point. She blocked the blaster bolts not with a saber, but with her katana Sally. Cortosis could absorb the stun bolts, and Jonyna was damn good at this point at that. Ten years of fighting Stormtroopers will do that. This mando seemed keen on taking her out of the fight, but in reality, Jonyna wasn't interested in throwing in the towel. She could tell that this mando was well seasoned, and if they weren't gonna fight Jonyna, they'd be fighting someone else. Keeping Lily hostage. Jonyna's goal wasn't anything more than to tie this mando down in a struggle that would keep her occupied.

As the mando charged her with their Beskad, Jonyna did exactly as she trained. Used Liz and kept her distance. Sally was great against lightsabers, but Liz was her main fighting sword now, and it had quite a bit more reach than the beskad did. Jonyna knew she couldn't break through the armor of the mando at this point, now that she was up close should could tell cortosis-weave in the bodysuit the mando wore. A lightsaber would be useless against them. But a songsteel je'daii blade? That might work. She kept her distance, slashing at Shai Maji Shai Maji 's exposed parts with clear purpose. Now the mando was in her territory.

"And you think I'm scared of that? I fought the Empire at it's height, helped take down a Star Destroyer from the inside, fought your kind when the Empire put a bounty on my head! I've been fighting since I was 3 years old! I don't even wanna be here, I just want my friend back!"

This had grown tiresome. It was clearly time for a change of strategy. The wookiee, it seemed, had decided to try her own game against moving closer and attempting kicks like she had to disable mobility. The first strike caught her off guard, the servos of her armor whining in protest against the ferocious strength of the wookiee’s blow. She let out a grunt of pain.

“The Manda is within all Mandalorians”

She switched to punching hard and fast blows rained at the wookiee’s torso as she advanced forward aiming to push him off balance. The punches were however a diversion to her actual goal during her flurry she surreptitiously slipped a Grav Charge off her belt and palmed into her. She waited till she had the perfect opportunity and then aimed an open palmed strike at the wookiee’s chest plate. At that close of range the charge should disable if not outright kill the wookiee.

The Jedi, Sal-Soren, had reacted impossibly fast enough to be able to deflect the anti-Force rounds enough to alter their trajectory to miss her. The blade, however, was too fast for her to completely evade, drawing blood, but ultimately not hitting head-on enough to cause much damage. She was also able to grab the grappling line and use Sahan's momentum against him, slamming him up against the wall, but not before he whipped his wrist around in an attempt to wind the line around her wrists and jerk her into the wall as well.

The inertial dampers and repulsors in Sahan's armor activated to lessen the impact for him, with him falling to the floor relatively unharmed. "Peaceful? Yeah, right. The whole Galaxy is suffering, and what have the Jedi done? You can't even stamp out the corruption within the Alliance. And instead of actually helping people, you're here antagonizing us after one of your own committed crimes against the Enclave. We tried to be lenient and reasonable because we've been allies before. But you've proven you don't care about being allies, that you can't be trusted, that you'll turn on us the moment you think you don't need us. Well, fine. If the Alliance wants to be our enemy, then so be it. But you brought this upon yourselves."

Sahan climbed to his feet as the padawan finally regained all of her Force ability and began pushing against the cell until the cell door broke off its hinges. Sahan just shook his head. IT would have been a lot easier and quieter to simply pick the lock with her magick. He could stop her. He was tempted to have the ship bay door close and seal her in. But it didn't really matter anymore. He would let them leave. But not without a parting gift. He raised O'dteyase and shot at the padawan with the Force Breaker rounds, aiming for her left leg, as she ran for outside. If they hit, she would survive, but she'd be incapable of using the Force for a long while, not to mention having a leg potentially incapacitated. He looked at Sal-Soren. "Take her and go. But remember this, next time you will not be shown any mercy."

Silently, Sahan subvocalized to Artus. "Arty, send a request to Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla and Vren Rook Vren Rook to see about labelling Lily Decoria Lily Decoria as a felon, sentence served. I think they'll be fine with that. And if she hasn't learned her lesson, well... That's for them to decide."

Shai immediately picked up on what the Jedi was trying to do and shifted to retaliate, blocking with both sword and shield to avoid her striking at the gaps in her heavy armour. All the while, the Jedi confessed her own anger at the situation. "Kid, you wanna brag and feel sorry for yourself or do you wanna do good?!" Shai scolded her, sounding more like a parent than a hardened warrior.

Taking a step forward, Shai intercepted the Jedi's blade under her arm to try and trap it against her before releasing another blast from her repulsor. "You wanna help your friend?! Then go!" She practically barked at the girl. With her arms outstretched to her sides, even her expressionless visor could convey the frustration in Shai's face. "You think I wanna fight my sister's people? Karkin' go help your friend, you stupid furball!" Her shield retracted into its collapsed state on top of her vambrace and her Beskad was lowered.

"I got better things to do than start a war with my allies, I don't know about you." She spoke with a calmer tone.

She spared a glance over her shoulder at the others facing down against each other. Especially Valery and Siv. Her eyes narrowed as she mulled over her options to try and break this mess up. They could still turn around from this. She looked back at the Cathar in front of her.
