They have quadranium/ionite alloy tips, allowing it to pierce both armor and energy shields. A coating of cortosis protects the slugs from lightsabers.
Though this ammunition is incredibly dangerous to enemies, it is also very dangerous to the user as well. The plas-bonded ostrine shell can cause severe frostbite if handled improperly and without protection. Such an injury could lead to permanent injury, including amputation or worse.
The slugs can be made into just about any caliber size to fit a wide range of slugthrowers.
