Invasion The Liberation of Ossus [Republic vs. Sith Empire]

He pursed his lips and took a moment to take in the Emperor's words. When he was ready he looked to the Emperor again.

"I admire your courage and strength, Emperor, and respect your pride for your people. Although I must apologise for the decision I am about to make since you left me with no other option."

The ancient one opened his arms and allowed his robes to fall onto the ground behind him.

"You leave me with no choice than to protect my personal endeavors for this planet."

A silver hilt levitated from his belt as an emerald blade hissed to life into his grasp.

"I respectfully request a proposal. A honourable challenge between two few good men."

His body shifted and lit up as he became one with the Force. His muscle tone tightened as he flourished his blade into an aggressive back Vaapad stance; shifting his weight and the burning blade pointed forward at eye level.

@[member="Kaine Zambrano"]

Kaine's eyes opened slowly, his piercing emerald gaze staring deeply at Darc. He let forth a single sigh before slowly rising to his feet, throwing off his cloak after he stood revealing a tight black body suit with a blackened armor covering his chest, groin, shoulders, forearms, shins, and boots. The tightness of the body suit revealed the rippling mounds of muscles coiled tightly in Kaine's imposing frame, and they seemed to bulge slightly as Kaine drank deeply from the Dark Side surrounding the Grand Library. "So be it, knave. I will smite you down, and in the end you shall beg for mercy." With that he brought his lightsaber into his left hand with a quick pull in the force, and activated it's crimson blade with a quick press of his thumb on the activator switch. He extended his right hand, which was completely covered by a wicked looking black Gauntlet, which hummed and thrummed with dark energy as he exposed his palm towards the man.

From his palm exploded forth an eruption of devouring shadows, which would act as a corrosive once it came in contact with whatever surface it touched. Kaine followed that up with a quick flurry of jabs aimed at wherever Talus decided to evade from, if he evaded at all.

She dodged through the rubble with seamless movements of grace and fluidity that bespoke her Jedi training. There was no denying her skill, but she was no Darron Wraith. Mikhail shrugged, rain streaming down the shoulder pauldrons of his Hydra gear.

"Overrated."

With that he resorted to his primary method of attack. It was simplistic really, brutish even. He stretched out his telekinetic will and wrapped it around Diana, curling his fingers again. As a telekinetic specialist, this was Mikhail's area of expertise and this time she would not dispel his hold on her. He hurled her toward another wall of rubble fast enough to break several somethings. Instead of releasing her like before, he kept up his telekinetic hold as he guided her toward a wall. He was not attempting to crush her, so her Force aura would serve her no good. This would be a telekinetic arm wrestle; and in that contest, few were Mikhail's equal.

Increasing the distance by throwing her would help decrease the chances of a successful counter-attack. But Shorn did not finish there. Most people just left it at throwing the other person across the room. Mikhail, however, wouldn't stop. As soon as he hurled her, he attempted to pick her up again and slam her into the ground to split her head open on a boulder, then he tried to throw her against a freestanding pillar. If she ever got around to fighting him blade to blade, or blade to knife in this case, she would be worse off by a few scratches, or a fractured something... Mikhail would hope for the latter.

"Shorn." The words rolled off Marek's tongue like venom as he sensed just who was there, inside the temple. Perhaps it was the force insanity, or perhaps it was just vengeance he held onto, but it was all that mattered now. He turned and prepared to dart into the temple, though the ruins, heading for the location of the other Knights as well as Josh. But he didn't, no he'd become better than petty vengeance, it was below him, he could do better than that. He would do better than that. He WAS better than that.

Turning back to @[member="Balaya Zambrano"] a small smirk formed across his face. "You just gonna stand there waving your breasts around all day?" He asked harshly, looking up at the rather tall Zeltron woman. He'd seen her before, they'd both been younger then, but he knew her when he saw her. No doubt she didn't recognize him, but that wouldn't stop him now.

@Meta @ANYONE AT THE RUINS OR IN THE JUNGLE

NPC GRAUG AND IMPERIAL ARMIES IN ROUTE TO TEMPLE.
Important Info below

The Graug had been all but annihilated, their numbers now dwindling into the hundreds. It mattered little, however, as the Graug had pushed through the clone defense set up by Meta and were now leading the charge of Imperials towards the ruins. Anyone who crossed the Imperial Army on foot would have to first deal with a few hundred angry and enraged Graug warriors. As the 501st, the most highly trained forces in the Empire, followed behind their Graug allies, the massive AT-TT Walkers began to fire upon the Temple and the Republic Gunships that were in the ruins immediate area. The eight heavily armed vehicles blew junks of stone off the ruins and caused whole sections of temple and library to come crashing to the ground atop Republic troops. Meanwhile, the AT-FS were mostly hidden under the treeline and fired at the remaining Republic ground vehicles with their anti-vehicle cannons.

Hover tanks moved briskly over the Jungle landscape with most of their 501st escorts and passengers intact. Even as they moved into the harsher or enemy resistance, the 501st lost minimal soldiers thanks to the Graug "shield" taking the brunt of most the combat and leaving the enemy open to their fire. It wasn't long until the Republic gunships came into view, some managing to fire salvos of missiles against the vehicles but scoring kills only on some of the tanks that hovered above the ground. 501st men flew off into various directions as their rides burst into flames and many more just double timed it into the hellish landscape of the burning jungle around the ruins.

IMPERIAL NPCs AT THE TEMPLE
Important Info below
The shuttle and Imperial gunships that had soared high above the mechanical beasts were able to make it to the temple before the arrival of the Republic's gunships. Some ships dropped heavy durasteel containers that, when they fell open, revealed additional AT-FSs. The chicken walker-like machines number under a dozen but would be a suitable match for Republic forces. While the shuttles deployed these forces, others deployed 501st Legion members who quickly fanned out and began to engage Republic forces all along the perimeter. A special detachment went specifically to go find Emperor @[member="Kaine Zambrano"] , while the bulk of the detachment moved to recreate a safe perimeter around the ruins.

KRAG'S POST

Krag worked to deflect the fireballs that were being showered at him by the Jedi Master. Krag used his free hand to swipe away the balls of flame and send them hurling into the ground where they exploded into magnificent displays of color. As the Master closed in on the beast, Krag swung his saber at him from the leftside, which was promptly met with a block from Josh's own saber. As the Jedi Master swung his saber in defense, it left his face open for Krag to attack. So, with his overwhelming natural strength, Krag threw a jaw breaking punch at the Jedi Master that would surly send him flying.

After dealing with the current threat from Josh, Krag turned his attention to the new arrival and hissed a menacing answer at her "Fear!" his thunderous voice echoed before he took a quick breath and expelled a fireball in her direction.

Diana was thrown around like a ragdoll, there was no other explanation for it. While she had managed to counter the first bit of telekinesis the second was far more difficult and controlling. Luckily however, in his grabbing of her the Sith had not been able to completely stop her from moving, something she was thankful for when she was thrown against the first wall. With her lightsaber's deactivated Diana acted on instinct.

Just as she was about to strike the heavy rock wall Diana threw up a barrier of the force something she had learned from fighting Velok, cushioning the harsh hit as she struck the stone and caused it to crumble. The wall threw up a cloud of dust, and several smaller rocks fell onto her as she lay on the ground.

She could feel blood stain her inner clothing, slipping from her ribs where she had struck a piece of the wall.

Diana however did not stay still for long, knowing that the Sith would soon act again. Before the rain could completely clear away the dust Diana rolled behind a nearby wall, causing Mikhail to lose sight of her and rendering his next grab for her useless. The Jedi Knight ran behind the wall of the ruins for quite some time, almost a full minute.

The ruins thankfully provided excellent cover and she bounded over a few dozen rocks before finally reaching the end of the wall. She bounded upwards onto the wall, jumping onto it and landing at the top a dozen or so meters away from Mikhail.

She frowned at him, and then went on the offensive. With a simple gesture of an upwards flick of the wrist Diana raised a wall of mud directly before Mikhail, spraying cold dirt and water towards the mans face and body.

Then Diana pounced like a cat from her place on the wall, her movements nearly a blur as the force imbued her every muscle. She dashed in a zig zag pattern, closing the ground between them incessantly quickly.

As she reached a distance of 5 meters to the Sith she ignited one of her blades, with a twirl she threw the ignited lightsaber directly as Shorn's leg, expertly aimed at the gap in the armor found there...though she doubted it would hit home. Then she continued her path, rushing at the Sith Master and preparing to strike him down.

Balaya looked at @[member="Marek S'hadar"] as he spoke. Her apprentice still at her side as she looked to the armor weave bodysuit and raised an eyebrow. Her time with the Lords of the Fringe had gotten her a custom fit suit of iron skin. Now she just stared tilting her head down to her chest that was constricted in the suit. "Huh? Who are you again?" Her face turned to her apprentice as she spoke to @[member="Alexandra Shadowstalker"]. "You see now apprentice by what I meant, ones who rush forward and do this." She remained still and smiled while focusing on the force. There was a reason why she was known as Kaine's apprentice but few knew why she had been hidden away and kept concealed. Her hand went to the apprentice and the words slipped from her lips. "Discipulus sentire vim fieri fortior." She used the sorcery on Alexandra to enahce her if she wanted it and would make her stronger while turning to the girl. "Now you may fight."

Meta had limped his way back to the crashed gunship trench, finding two of the Commando's alive. Both were badly wounded. Luckily the gunship Meta had grappled to earlier was too damaged to fight, coming in low to the Jedi and troopers. "Did you already call it?" Meta asked, the less wounded of the two Commando's nodded and carried the other into the Gunship. "Drop me off on top of the Jedi temple, then take these two to a medic. The pilot didn't speak bit followed the order. The gunship began to fly in the direction of the Jedi Temple ruins. Meta took this time to heal his wounds and rest.

Within ten minutes, Meta had arrived at the temple, the gunship flying over head. Meta opened the doors of the gunship. Standing tall and refreshed, however just as much blood and scorch marks coveted his armour. Meta had healed his wounds, and calmed his mind for the oncoming battle. Jumping out of the gunship, Meta landed softly above the battle raging below. Using this opportunity, Meta used speed and stealth to slip inside the temple. Not far away from battle, Meta could feel his friend @[member="Yasuo"] nearby, following the signature. He ran down the hallways of the temple. Saber ignited in hand as he tracked down the force signature like a homing in beacon.

He reacted swiftly with another wave of dark electrical energy as the Force shield collided with the shadows. With the will of the Force guiding him, time seemed to slow down as he sidestepped and turned away from the rest of the shadows that may have penetrated through the veil of darkness. The ancient one blurred forward in tremendous velocity to appear behind the Emperor in an attempt to strike him since the Emperor's attention was mostly placed on where the jabs were going to land on him when he stood in front of him in the beginning.

@[member="Kaine Zambrano"]

Kaine rolled forward away from Darc's blade while bringing his back over his shoulder to parry the blow. The Emperor had seemingly underestimated his opponent's prowess beforehand, a common mistake among the Sith, but one Kaine would not make again. Kaine twirled around while crouched and brought his lightsaber in a horizontal arc with his left hand that was aimed at Darc's shins, and with his other hand he unleashed a powerful telekinetic blow towards Darc's midsection in an attempt to throw him across the chamber. "Impressive." was all that Kaine said, spending only a moment to comment on his opponent's fighting prowess so far.

Great Jedi Library

The heat of battle and the feel of death rippling through the Force invigorated the Sith Lord as he dashed ahead. Coming to an abrupt halt mere feet in front of Kiskla, the Sith Lord's arrival was pronounced by a sharp blast of force energy emanating from the very core of his body. Lord Ashmedai had said all of the words Kiskla needed to here. He had given her the insight it would require to prevail here today. If the Princess had some hope or notion of being praised for her work here, she was fighting for the wrong reason. If she thought that a victory here would be symbolic of anything, she was fighting for the wrong reason. If she felt this was a worthwhile venture for any tactical reason, she was fighting for the wrong reason. If, and only if, she journeyed her in pursuit of reaching her breaking point and pushing past it, she was fighting for the right reason.

Whether or not Kiskla Grayson could see it or chose to accept it, Ashmedai would make her better this day. One's real progress as a vanguard of the Force was always based in large part on the enemies they faced. For that reason, he arrived at this point without worry of victory or defeat. Victory could often be a warrior's biggest adversary...it taught little and improved even less. Today, Darth Ashmedai would either remain as he was...or learn what he needed to improve upon. To be sure, five centuries of victory and defeat had taught him a great deal.

Abruptly and without warning, the Sith Lord erupted a large ball of Kinetite from his left palm in Kiskla's direction. The Sith Lord chased immediately behind the attack, aiming to provide the Jedi Master with as little time to adjust as possible.

GRAUG ARMY V REPUBLIC FORCES
NEAR JEDI ACADEMY RUINS

@[member="Meta "]@[member="Krag"]

Tycho whipped through the air in his Taral-class Starfighter as he headed toward the target objective. He commanded 1 squadron of Galaxy-class bombers and 2 squadrons of Taral-class starfighters as air superiority and escort craft. They screamed into the fight. Shorn broke off with his fighters to engage the incoming Republic star bombers

"Rapier Actual this is Rapier 1, Claymores inbound hot. Close air support. Danger close. All Rapiers, engage hostile bombers."

Each of the twelve bombers carried a payload of four proton bombs or fifty-four thermal detonators. They turned the Republic mortar emplacement into a place of hell and nightmares. The cacophony rocked the ground as detonation followed detonation. A carpet of flame rose where the bombers had passed over. The mortar emplacement was simply gone, vanished beneath the explosions and ensuing smoke and flame.

Tycho's fighters engaged with the inbound Republic bombers and proceeded to tear them to shreds.

"Rapier 2, I'm on his six."

"Coming in, missile away."

"Splash one, splash one."

"Bogey down. Looks like this is a mynock shoot."

Shorn smiled lazily. "All too easy."

THE NPC REPUBLIC FORCES

The empire had closed the gap between the academy, temple and forests. The gun ships and bombers and others spread out, in an hexagon like shape they formed a barrier around the enemy, a large number of gunships landed outside the temple, revealing hundreds of clone troopers, the gunships took off immediately as the troops were dispatched, the clones immediately running into the Graug and the 501st. A clash of forces had begun, but before any of the gunships had appeared to the empire, a detachment of ships had dropped anti-vehicle and anti-air cannons at the academy, temple and in the midst of the army that stalked the woods. Many Sith ships were brought down by canon fire, and the clone troopers vast numbers were able overrun the Graug and push into the 50st. A large group of demo squads aming for the hover tanks. The gunships and bombers however had spread out.

Focussing on the AT-ST's and vehicles around the academy, temple and forests. Gunships blazed the troops of the 501st and focused on the middle of their group, the Anti infantry tanks numbers had now increased. They could now leave a deadly mark on the 501sts ground forces. All republic equipment focused on their respective targets. The whole of the battlefield had nearly been completely set ablaze by the air battles. The fight for Ossus had been reduced to utter..
CHAOS.

@[member="Krag"]

Darc switched to a reverse grip and parried the oncoming swipe to the shins. The two sabers clashed and sparked like fireworks. Then came a sudden push of the Force towards him. He was knocked back a few feet with his boots sliding across the gravel, but rose his other free hand into a counter push to come to a complete stop. He regained control and spun his blade back vertically into his aggressive back stance. The Force flowed through him like rushing water; accelerating with every second that passed.

Josh had momentarily been distracted by the appearance of Tallia, who he immediately shouted "Tallia, watch out!" towards as Krag had attacked. Krag had swung at him with his lightsaber, and Josh's quick reflexes had allowed him to get his saber up and block it. Suddenly, he felt a pounding headache, and by the time he got to his senses, he had found he had crashed into a tree. He held momentarily where Krag had struck, feeling the bruises and whatever else it had left.

As @[member="Krag"] fired toward Tallia, Josh gritted his teeth, walking over. Before Krag could react to the sudden re-emergence of the Jedi Master, much quicker then would be expected, he suddenly swung an overwhelming, jaw breaking punch of his own, with his free hand, blasting Krag dead in the face. This would be a surprise, as the superhuman strength of the Jedi Master would send Krag flying on contact, in complete utter deja vu to what Krag had done to the Master just before.

Josh's head was pounding, but he didn't care. He stared his opponent down with a challenging glare, almost beckoning Krag to strike at him again.

GREAT JEDI LIBRARY - ENTRANCE

As the Jedi Strike Team pushed forward, Daella glanced at @[member="Florin Armetta"] as he had issues with @[member="Kaine Zambrano"]’s power. Before Daella could do anything for the boy though, a few Graug rushed over to her. Daella deflected their blaster bolts and quickly dispatched them in an effort not worth noting.

Surrounding the Jedi and the temple, the fight between @Krag’s Graug and Republic soldiers intensified. Both sides seemed to have countless numbers and seemed to be immeasurably larger and more important than Daella at the moment. From her perspective, it just seemed to be a cacophonous, chaotic mess - especially with the growing brutality of the Graug.

Yet, Daella pressed on as she eventually caught up with @[member="Kiskla Grayson"] and @[member="Dar'rak"]. Moments afterward though, @[member="Cameron Centurion"] dropped from the sky and landed in front of them. Daella quickly stood ready to deal with the Sith as she gripped her lightsaber with both hands.

Kiskla’s orders to her own Padawan were clear, though, and Daella was just within earshot to hear them. Seemingly understanding the Jedi Councilor’s wishes, Daella ran diagonally away from the scene - toward an entrance to the Jedi Library.

Turning back to Dar’rak and Florin as she ran, Daella yelled, “Come!

Eventually, the Jedi strike team reached an entrance that had been secured by @[member="Yasuo"], @[member="Vulpesen"], @[member="Yusan Fenn"], and @[member="Darc Xavior Talus"].

Before pressing further into the Jedi Library, Daella turned toward Florin. She extended a hand as if to place it on the Padawan’s head. Her steel blue eyes glared down into the boy’s own. Her pupils revealed a clear, abyssal black unclouded by the chaos surrounding her.

Do not fear, Padawan,” she began with a calm tone, “Do what you must. If you need find strength to face the Sith, then look to me. I’m only a comm channel away.

After she said that, Daella left Florin behind. She ordered several soldiers to remain at the boy’s side. She noticed some walkers dropping from the sky right by the Jedi Library. The closest one to her stood up and locked its sights onto Daella. Yet before it could shoot, a Republic gunship flew by and destroyed it with several of its missiles. The gunship quickly drew the attention of other Imperial forces nearby and was subsequently shot down. More walkers and gunships neared the temple and became dragged into a fight with each other - ignoring Daella and focusing on a more immediate threat.

Before actually rushing into the Library, Daella noticed something on the same Grand Staircase up toward the entrance. She dashed toward @[member="Yasuo"] and @[member="Yusan Fenn"] - her eyes on the wounded Jedi more so.

Once Daella reached Yasuo, she looked over his body. She said nothing to introduce herself - the only one personally knowing her being Yusan.

With her yellow lightsaber still ignited, Daella gripped it with both hands and moved it to hover over Yasuo’s leg.

Clench your teeth,” she warned just as she attempted to lightly graze her lightsaber over Yasuo’s wound in order to cauterize it.

@[member="Daella Apparine"] had arrived before Meta had, but only moments earlier. Meta stopped a few metres away. "Yasuo, what happened?" Meta asked, looking over his wounds. Though anyone in the room would ask Meta the same, his armour was covered in scorch marks blaster marks, shrapnel shards and had stains of blood soaked into the cloak and placed all over his armour. He knelt down beside Yasuo and Daella. Watching the two interact he awaited a reply.

@[member="Donovan Carlyle"] @[member="Iella E`ron"] @[member="Hawk Solo"]

Saki heard the man... she knew he was there but she was in that place. That quiet place where white noise descended upon her hearing and nothing got through her tunnel vision while she saw sith soldiers going down and moved more and more. The battlemind and focus taking her in with her opponents to form a loop of energy and want. Her own darkness pushing out with each strike until it shattered on the chests and bones of the soldiers. Even the large graug soldiers she encountered as she became a whirlwind of fury and strikes moving faster and faster then normal eyes could see. Their chest gave way under the brutal assault while whatever was happening, whatever was being brought in to the area came at them all.

The temple and ruins opened wide for her while she moved feeling the emperor inside, his dark taint and something more. Another while more jedi moved about but she couldn't keep track now the thrill of fighting and bashing into all of these enemies was too much. She had found another trooper and with two rapid punches the first to his throat to disable and the second to his face as the helmet shattered under the stroke. Her joy and fury bringing a boot up as the force blasted out of it and sent the man flying into his friends. Her vaapad might be raw but with the practice from Darron wraith it was more refined as she made her way through the temples perimeter and smacked what she could find.

Near the Ruined Jedi Academy

Tallia blasted the fire away with a gust of force wind. She laughed at the audible crack that came from Joshua's fist impacting with @[member="Krag"]'s face. "That will teach him not to mess with Jedi." She joked. She walked up to Krag, her lightsaber ignited. "Why don't you call off your troops now? Your couldn't hold this planet with a billion soldiers." She taunted. Tallia wanted him to come at her. She wanted him to learn his place. And maybe he would get some compassion after she beat him down.

She took a deep breath and tried to keep calm. Her anger needed to be kept in check. She wasn't going to use it like a tool as the Sith did. She had other ways of channeling the force. The Jedi didn't need to feed on their emotions to be powerful, and thats what made them stronger than the Sith. "Well, I'm waiting." She called to the creature. Tallia looked to @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] and and gave him a confident smile. They could do this.

Line of sight was everything to a telekinetic master, without it Mikhail's grab closed on empty air. He grunted, surprised. Of course, he could still feel Diana through the Force and with it track her movements.

When she emerged atop the wall, Mikhail frowned at her beneath his helmet. Surprised? No. But what did she plan on- a wall of mud and water slapped him, causing him to stumble backward. Mud caked his visor, rendering visibility about as clear as, well... mud. Damnit. He wiped furiously at his visor with his off hand, smearing away enough of the mud to get a glimpse of Diana, a determined expression on her face as she hurled her lightsaber at him, which coincided with a tingle of danger down his spine.

"Feth!" Mikhail swore. The blade came in too low to parry with his dagger, so he attempted to pivot out of the way, but the mud made motions in his cumbersome armor even slower. With a wet shlock, his foot unsuctioned from the mud and he finally managed to pivot; just in time to catch the spinning saber on his calf. The blade touched part of the back of his knee, burning right through the cloth and giving him a grazing cut, but it rebounded off of the phrik on his shin.

Mikhail hissed between clenched teeth. It didn't feel too serious, but damn did it hurt.

He stretched out his hand and the thrown saber snapped into his palm. She had handed him a weapon. Cool. Holding his beskar knife "Ouch" and the stolen saber in a guard stance, Mikhail pointed the saber at Diana's chest. A telekinetic shockwave rippled outward. Not as powerful as a more directional force push, which would shatter bone, but wide enough to stop her from dodging and strong enough to pick her up and toss her a good ten or so meters backward.
