Faction The Flooded Sanctum | (Sith Order)

The Flooded Sanctum
Amidst the cluster of worlds in the Grumani Sector that were once enthralled under a long dead sect of the Sith, one in particular has become the topic of much discussion as of late. Darkknell, once the host to a mighty battle in the distant past, has been covered by archaeological dig sites and expeditions since the Sith Order laid claim to it. Eager adventurers and scheming lords alike have intended to unearth the long lost secrets and relics of Sith long past, yet one digsite has risen to eclipse all the rest.
The Sanctum Celestial once stood as the proud fortress of Darkknell’s capital city, Xakrea, yet both time and war have submerged and reduced much of the mighty fortress into rubble and ruin. Although the grand fortress was tempting to uncover, thus far little of value had been unearthed aside from the structure itself.
Until now.
A week ago a vault was discovered among the rubble that encompasses much of the Sanctum, far newer than the fortress and bearing sigils belonging to the Sepulchral priests. However despite numerous attempts at opening the great door that seals the vault, no entry has been made and not even the modern Sepulchral priests seem to be able to open it. As such the Emperor of the Sith, Darth Empyrean, and a respectable force of Sith, soldiers, and researchers alike have gathered to investigate and finally unveil the secrets of the vault.
Great siege cannons are brought to blow down the sealed doors that hide the contents of the vault, and after nearly two days of constant fire, have finally cracked open the vault. What greeted them was a seemingly empty hall, a grand pillared entrance to greet the invaders. However, what lies within may not be as dormant and abandoned as initially thought. The moment that the great vault was broken open and the entrance revealed, alarms and the distant sounds of marching greeted the ears of all present. The researchers have fallen back as the Sith and legions ready themselves to push deeper into the vault, regardless of what may attempt to halt them.
Objective 1: Battering Ram
Although the initial breach into the vault has been made there are many other grand gates and doors that barr our passage forward. The siege cannons have been moved into position to tear them down but already the first of the mysterious defenders have arrived to assault them.
Ancient war droids and freshly-unfrozen Sith guardians have begun pouring into the entry hall with no regard for their own lives. They seek only to slay our forces and stop our incursion by destroying the cannons. This cannot be allowed, defend the cannons and put down all maddened Sith and archaic droids that attempt to destroy them.
Objective 2: Halt the Hordes
More and more of the vault’s defenders awaken with each moment that passes by, all of which rush to meet our forces at the entrance without hesitation. Lining the walls are various passages and corridors which allow them entry but are too small for a concentrated counter attack, especially with the wakened guardians bearing down on the cannons.
Whether by collapsing these entrances or barricading them with the bodies of fallen guardians, these ratholes must be filled before we are surrounded and overwhelmed.
Objective 3: BYOO
Numerous passages and corridors that can only fit one or two individuals at a time line the entrance hall, allowing for those quick enough to slip by the fighting and explore the vault on their own.
Relics, artifacts, and ancient yet dangerous equipment lay within the stores and warehouses of the vault and if one is daring enough they can swipe whatever they please before the main forces of the Sith arrive in full. But do beware, traps and guardians alike will stand between any invader and their desires.

OBJECTIVE: Listen to orders from higher power.

The wind on the hood of the masked sith. He looked around at all the noise of the vault. He knew the sith were empowered to be better than any of the hordes, or forces that would be brought up upon them.

His respirator breathing heavier with each noise he heard. He didn't feel wrong about this, he felt excited. Ever since he went mute during the fight with his own kind, he has been staying low and unseen by anybody of different forces. He looked around the vault, with a confident look.
He was prepared, his lightsabers in each of their holsters.

He stood upon the ground covered in something tattered. He felt like the sith, will definitely take this over..he didn't feel it...he knew it.

Objective 1

As he had feared, the vault was entrapped. The cracked world of Tartarus 1 was a hint at what the Sepulchral had been planning, plotting behind even the Emperor's back; but this was a far more fresh instance of what they were planning. A yet sealed vault, meant to opened at a later date - a time bomb for a galaxy that had forgotten about the Sith. The Corpse King growled as a lightsaber flew from his belt to his palm and ignited - washing the dark hall in a red light. The cannons would need to be restarted and remanned - the researchers protected as they fled.
The Emperor could feel that darkness quaking beneath him, all around him. Their arrival in the vault had triggered the mechanisms implicit to such a place - hundreds of Sith warriors long frozen were melting and be let loose onto this place. He was curious how many still held their minds, and how many controlled those that could not be controlled. Furrowing his brow, he roared a command behind him;
"Sith, to me! Stand your ground, let none escape this pestilent vault."
And with that, he could see the distant glow of lightsabers approached - like a wave of blood slowly moving down dark corridors leading directly to them. With lightsaber in one hand, and his staff formed in the other - the Dead God awaited. For the many to join him, for the many more to die at his hand.

"Oh you've got to be fething kidding me." Alisteri had an uneasy feeling the moment that a force from the Inquisition, as well as several others from across the worlds of the Sith Order, had been summoned to Darkknell by direct Imperial decree. He had been hoping that it was just some ceremony or otherwise contained incident that merely lacked an audience. As usual of course, his hopes had been dashed the moments that he laid his gaze upon the grand doors that had now been reduced to smoldering ruins of their former glory.

Beyond lay a wide open hall, stationed with pillars and seemingly empty. And so it had been, for a handful of moments. The researchers and cannon crews fled from the forefront of the expedition forces, where they would be safe in the rear while the legions and other forces moved to occupy the frontline alongside their emperor.

The masked man's gaze swept over the sea of movement that had began pouring into the entrance hall, many of them wielding red lightsabers that lit up the dark hall as they sprinted towards the breached doors. Droids of various shapes and sizes marched and lumbered along with the army of Sith as well, a wave of metal and bright blades.

Alisteri drew his sword in his left hand and ignited his own lightsaber in his right, albeit slightly reluctant to comply with Empyrean's commands. If nothing else, at the very least today would be an interesting one once they had cleared out the vault's guardians.

OBJECTIVE: Battering Ram
Darth Empryean Alisteri Haxim
Even though everything around him was turning into bursts of fleeing members, and other things...somehow the masked sith was calm, or was it because he could not talk? Nobody could figure it out.

He ignited both of his sabers in each hand and stood. His breathing actually getting quieter and more collected, droids of different types surrounded the sith. The sith moved in a circular motion as he was trying to chop through all of them, fire ignited from the arms of Darth Laesis.
He through both of his sabers up, and clapped his hands..sending a small but powerful force wave knocking down a lot of droids that were trying to at least make it close to the sith.

It sounded as the sith tried to laugh, but instead gurgling disfigured noises awoke from his mask.

Darkknell. The legacy left behind by the Calimondra Family. It was one of madness. The Emperor had chosen to breach this ancient fortress and seize the ancient left inside. For all Darth Kentarch cared, Darkknell could keep its ancient secrets. Yet not all members of the family were completely insane. Arkadia Calimondra was said to be an Enlightened ruler and a Sith Warlord, she had also established a series of schools known as the Promisoriums. Perhaps ancient texts or holocrons kept her secrets. There were other prizes, coordinates to secret hyperspace lanes, and plans to skyreaper drones, both of which could be used to suit the Sith Order's military conquests.

The problem was if the information and lore did exist, it was trapped inside a near-impregnable fortress. The Emperor rallied his men to face the onslaught of defenders as he breached the outer defenses, Sith against Sith. Kentarch as always, had other plans.

A master of Stealth Kentarch slipped past the fighting, cloaked in black Sith robes. It was not long before he found a hidden passage, wide enough for him to slip through and escape the melee. Venturing into the fortress, the Sith found himself alone in the dark recesses of the ancient structure. He ignited his red lightsaber, and his eyes shifted with the powers of the force, allowing him to see in almost complete darkness. After some time he came to a large chamber, although he could hardly see what lay ahead inside. Carefully he ventured into the room, hoping not to disturb any ancient defenders or trigger any traps.

A wave of fiery crimson blades streamed out from the vault, accompanied in even greater numbers by the lumbering, crawling, and scuttling forms of various models of ancient war droids. Doubtlessly, Lucia’s master, were he present now, would have been all too excited for the opportunity to see such ancient droids in action. It was that exact fascination, genius, and hard work as a droid engineer which had led to her creation, after all. For that reason and more, the gynoid intended to bring as many scavenged droids back to Eliad as she could after the siege’s conclusion. There was not a single individual in the Sith Order who might be able to accomplish more with them than her master. However, for the moment, Lucia’s primary objective was to defend the cannons against the coming onslaught.

In essence, rip and tear.

Drawing her twin katanas, Lucia willed her weapons to fly ahead in spinning, boomerang-like arcs, honing in on a scuttling war droid as it leveled its arm-mounted blasters towards the ranks of allied Sith troopers. Just before the crab-like droid could open fire, the gynoid’s first katana severed its head, while the second cut the remainder of the body in twain. Calling one of her katanas back into her grasp, Lucia willed the other to continue on its arc, which carried it towards a small row of five advancing Sentinels. In the manner of a scythe slashing through grass, the gynoid’s katana cut each of the war droids in twain in a single, devastating arc, causing the automatons to collapse to the floor, inert.

Not long after she called her other katana back, the melee commenced in earnest. A trio of corruption droids armed with massive vibroblades launched themselves towards the gynoid with inhuman speed. Registering their proximity, Lucia threw herself into a twirling leap, before casting one of her katanas towards the closest droid, willing the weapon to fly through the air blade-first, much like a missile. With devastating kinetic force, the katana speared the droid through its chest, sending sparks and chunks of metal flying as the automaton was suddenly thrown backward. Undeterred, the other two corruption droids closed the distance and initiated their assault, forcing Lucia to defend herself with a series of blocks and parries. As soon as the opportunity came, Lucia leveled her right arm towards one of the corruption droids and sent it flying back in a blast of repulsive gravity akin to a Force Push. It gave her the opening she needed to duck beneath the other droid's slash, before severing its legs in a savage counter and finishing it off with a decapitating slash. The remaining corruption droid had only just gotten back onto its feet before Lucia called the katana that wasn’t in her grasp back, at which point the blade flew back towards its wielder in a boomerang-like arc, before slashing the droid in twain across its torso.

As she caught her katana, a fresh wave of Sentinel droids streamed out from a nearby passage, a shadow cast over their frames as the hulking, lumbering form of something massive followed in their wake. Tirelessly, Lucia focused her sensors towards the advancing Sentinels and primed herself for a renewed assault.

Location: Entrance Hall
Objective: Find the Source of the Sith
The damnable Sepulchral continued to lie about what they knew and did not - and the ignorant assumed they were a hyper loyal spy force for Empyrean. Perhaps if the Emperor's Raiment had gone to plan, had Srina Talon Srina Talon failed to retain the soul of Maliphant, it would have been. Yet as it stood, he was simply another obstacle for them to overcome, as they continued to plot and scheme against him and so many others within the Empire. A shame they were too entrenched to break away from now.
His staff's blade ripped from the gaping maw of the dragon at its head, slapping bolts away and back to their progenitors. The Emperor would not let their secrets get away from him so easily - so instead began to move towards where his senses told him was the most important sources of darkness within this vault. The cryo chambers holding these Sith. It would take only him and a skilled agent to see this through.
The metal eyes of the Dark Lord assessed each person around them before he decided, commanding with a great and force enhanced voice;
" Lucia Naberrie Lucia Naberrie - You will accompany me. The rest, defend the cannons - I will not have us fail to a simple ambush.", he said with a growl. A few of the praetorians that were tasked with defending the Emperor seemed to move forward - as though to question his will, but a glance from the Emperor forced them back. He didn't need more Sepulchral agents following him.
As Empyrean began to move forward in a steady motion, his movements became faster and more practiced. Surging Sith charged towards him first by themselves, but single strikes began to see them cut down and destroyed before pairs, then triplets, all failed to break his great and terrible guard. A dozen fell by the time a moment of respite was found from the hallway they had moved into - while others still assaulted the main room from other avenues.
He glanced to the android, and spoke just enough for her to hear;
"I am a great many things, Agent of my Will - but I am not a slicer. I would also see how capable you are. Come - we must not dally in the face of danger.", he said as he moved forward once more into the darkness before them.

The row of advancing Sentinels quickly drew closer, before unleashing a blistering salvo of firepower towards Lucia that compelled her energy shield to flare to life, intercepting one blaster bolt after another as the gynoid glided laterally towards a nearby bulkhead via her bodysuit’s repulsors, evading much of their fire in the process. Simultaneously, she leveled her left arm towards the Sentinels, unleashing one, two, and, three shots from her gauntlet-mounted scatterblaster, destroying four of the droids with shotgun-like blasts to their upper chests, rendering them as little more than charred metal scraps. And yet, the remaining three droids were undeterred, if even emboldened.

Their tank had finally arrived.

A hulking technological terror—almost four meters tall—ducked as it came through the passage, its unreadable photoreceptors taking in the scene as the three remaining Sentinel droids rallied around it, silently sharing sensor data and enemy positions via an invisible link. Within a millisecond, the SD-10 had fully processed the situation and immediately, it shifted its synthetic gaze towards the bulkhead.

Then, it fired.

A trio of miniature, deadly concussion missiles roared free from the SD-10’s launcher, targeting the bulkhead and the gynoid behind it. Her bodysuit’s sensors picking up the incoming warheads, Lucia glided out from the bulkhead and fired a burst of repulsive energy from the projector on her right gauntlet forcing the missiles off course. Moments later, the remaining Sentinels opened fire, managing to strike the gynoid once, then twice in the chest, with another bolt grazing across her left leg. Undeterred, Lucia maintained an erratic trajectory, shifting her course as she sent one of her katanas flying in a spinning arc towards the three Sentinels, slashing each of the droids in twain across their torsos.

Looming just behind the sparkling, bisected chassis of the Sentinels was the titanic form of the SD-10.

On cue, the massive automaton opened fire with its plasma-burst cannon, unleashing a a pair of arcing plasma orbs that exploded on impact. Lucia managed to leap out of the direct impact zone, but the blasts were powerful enough to send her flying regardless, her energy shield flickering in and out phase, before losing its charge. Landing on both feet and a hand to stabilize herself, the gynoid flew towards the SD-10 with all the speed her armor’s repulsors could carry her with, firing blasts of ionized energy from her scatterblaster as she did and thereby, causing the massive droid’s shields to briefly flicker out of existence under the ionic assault.

A momentary disruption to the SD-10’s shields was all she needed.

Lightsabers flying into her hands, Lucia’s twinned blades came to life with a foreboding snap-hiss before she casted one of the blades towards the SD-10 in boomerang fashion. Not even a second later, the droid collapsed to the ground with a loud, metallic thud as the plasma blade severed its leg, leaving orange-hot, molten metal at the point of impact. By then, the gynoid had closed the distance, at which point she dragged her other lightsaber up through the SD-10’s chest, savaging its internal systems in the process. Then, just before her blade reached the battle droid’s neck, the gynoid leaped upward in balletic fashion and descended back down, before plunging her blade into the droid’s head.

A moment later, the light in the SD-10’s photoreceptors went dark.

Kainate_Header.png
The soft hiss of Lucia’s Synthspray can was almost inaudible over the sounds of violence both near and far. However, a voice that she could hear above all else sounded out across the hall, addressing her by the name bestowed upon her by her master.

The voice of the Emperor.

Even with the repairs to her Synthskin only half-finished, Lucia didn’t dare keep him waiting. With the Terenthium-Desh framework across much of the left side of her face still quite exposed, she made her way to him, his guard stepping aside to allow her passage, albeit with no small amount of distrust evident in their body language movements, as they were wont to do. Immediately, Lucia set herself before him, performing a low bow rather than a full prostration, given the context of a chaotic war zone.

“I will do as you command, Emperor.” Lucia began, her tone flat, yet deferential. “However, I must clarify that these halls are still a mystery to me. My master, were he present, would have far more insight pertaining to this Sanctum than I could offer. I am but a shadow of your own and his intellect.” Indeed, through his all-seeing eyes, the Emperor might see that the gynoid possessed an aspect of her creator, though how much remained to be seen.

Nevertheless, Lucia followed after the Emperor as bidden, her photoreceptors scanning across the area as she made her way into the Great Vault.

Following wherever orders were placed. He moved into the many siths before him, he was confused but for some reason he did not feel as these were the real presence of once to be Siths. He went through them easily and happily. Moving towards Darth Empyrean and trying to get at least 20 siths off him at the same time. He did not fail to destruct any of the Siths, he has been trained by his infamous master.

He went through the siths without a sweat dropped. His lightsaber cutting fire into all of his victims. He awaited orders.

Alisteri didn't need to be told twice, or at all really, to get into the fighting that had quickly began to fill the hall. He sprang forward and leapt into action as the waves of raging Sith and droids reached the cannons. The masked man threw off one of the wild Sith that had been attempting to climb up one of the ladders that dotted the catwalks around the cannon's barrel, deflecting an incoming bolt from one of the droids on the ground as he did so.

He pounced down onto the fallen Sith below the ladder and crushed his head underneath his boot, having to quickly pop up to block the blade of another with his own lightsaber. While one of his blades held off the lightsaber of his opponent the other moved and stabbed straight through his attacker, a solid kick throwing the rampaging Sith back before they could strike out like a wounded beast. Alisteri deflected another bolt, this time back at the head of the droid that fired it, and rushed forward to meet the next Sith.

The soldiers that had accompanied the expedition had all been moved into place by now and didn't hesitate to fire into the masses of frothing berserkers and droids, with some of the squads moving to take position along the catwalks of the cannons. The Knight kept dueling one of the rampaging Sith after the other, their wild and sloppy attacks being easy to exploit and counter even despite the number advantage that they held. "Get those cannons back online and see if you can thin their numbers. There's too fething many of them!"

Whether or not he really held any authority over the troops here was a matter of debate but the Emperor was seemingly occupied at the moment so there was no need to leave the soldiers leaderless.

Darth Laesis didn't know if he was supposed to, but he knew he had the authority to call his troops. He did not have the authority to get the canons back online at all, but the troops were good enough for him. He pressed a button in his right hand as he was fighting the siths with his left. Clashing sabers, and clashing droids..

Moments later a huge ship piled, the hanger opening to reveal tons of Sith Troopers from the ship. They marched down, trying to shoot whatever they thought was a threat. The Sith thought maybe this would help them make it through farther...he knew it. As he trained this team to be amazing, if they fail now...he will be devastated.

He looked at a frustrated Alisteri Haxim he tossed another lightsaber at him, to see if he would take it. He thought it would help his ally out.
He got through crowds, he has at least taken out over a hundred enemies...they weren't giving up..but it seemed the troops were helping with slowing down the whole process of the siths.

"I fear even your creator would be blind in these halls.", he said with a frown.
"The secrets of the Sepulchral run deep, shrouding this place in their lore. When we are deeper within, perhaps we can uncover the truth together - for the Order as a whole."
AS the two moved through the confines of the vault, he could sense the distant echoes of a dark pulsating power, like a war drum reverberating through this sinful abode. The ancient carved stone gave way to more modern amenities, dating the creation of this place within the last two millenia - but how long it had been in stasis was a much harder question to answer. A few halls trailed off to collapsed sections, while others emptied into the nothing of mazes. Traps for the treasure hunters capable enough to get past the security, he imagined.
Guiding them towards the lower levels, they faced some resistance - but most was quickly dealt with from the combined strength of the two gathered. Most of the forces traversed other directions, other places, circumvented the Emperor for the cannon. Their trail ended many stories down, in a small room with gilded pillars and diagrams of ancient Sith Priests performing a ritual - with a smaller door at the end of it.
"I understand you are a droid created by the Kainites. Are you equipped with scanning equipment? I would have you find the secrets to opening this door - lest I simply break it down. Keeping this facility intact is paramount to our goals."

As she traversed deeper into the vault, Lucia spared none of her honed, programmed skill in slashing her way through the resistance. A trio of scuttling war droids formed to firing line to unleash a barrage of fire from their arm-mounted blasters, only to be shorn in twain as the mono-molecular edge of a flying katana cut through the middle of their frames in boomerang-like fashion, leaving shooting sparks in its wake. However, just as the droids were cut down, a quartet of Sith Warriors emerged out from behind, charging towards the pair in a frenzied rush. Immediately, Lucia launched her other katana towards the leading Sith, blade-first so as to impale him through the chest. However, the Warrior evaded the blow with a soaring, Force-enhanced leap which carried him within a couple meters of the gynoid. Catching her first katana, she only just managed to bring the weapon up in defense as the Sith unleashed a series of sweeping strikes, sparks flying as his crimson lightsaber clashed against the katana’s Fyrirdögun blade.

Then, she jumped.

An acrobatic leap carried her backwards as her body twirled through the air. As she did, her katana flew free from her hand in boomerang-like fashion, nearly catching the Warrior off-guard as the blade was turned aside by his lightsaber, though not before the mono-molecular edge broke open part of his helmet, stunning him in the process. Not even a moment after landing on her feet, the gynoid called her other katana back into her hand, before launching the weapon towards the Sith, the blade shattering his armor with a visceral thunk before burying itself inside his upper chest.

Kainate_Header.png
With much of the resistance cleared, Lucia followed after the Emperor as he led her into a gilded room. Quickly scanning the area, the gynoid took in the various murals lining the walls, committing them to her computerized memory for later study and perhaps, replication in the Golden Palace, if her master wished it so.

“I have scanning and slicing equipment on my person, but none save for the basics integrated into my chassis, Emperor.” Lucia answered. Sensing his unspoken command, the gynoid pulled out a multi-slice tool from her utility belt and began to initiate scans on the door. Locating a socket, she slid the tool inside and initiated a direct link to the computer, lines of code visibly manifesting in her photoreceptors as she did.

A few moments later, a soft click sounded out as the door came unlocked.
