WEAKNESSES
  • Drenched in Darkness: A constant aura of dread and hate exudes from the blade, making it difficult to hide in the Force.
  • Averse to Light: Force Light or close proximity to a Light Side nexus can render the blade's dark power almost useless and even damage the blade itself.
  • Without Power: In the presence of a nullification or suppression field the sword is reduced to a regular blade, albeit slightly weaker due to how interwoven the metal is with alchemy.
DESCRIPTION
Forged in the depths of the Formos Cathedral, imbued with the sacrifices of over a dozen criminals from Formos and Faldos alike, and enchanted by the wrath of the crafter, Heretic's Bane drips with the Dark Side and exemplifies what a Sith Sword should be. Alisteri, desiring both a counter for materials such as Cortosis which could disable his lightsaber and a ceremonial blade for more public sacrifices, gathered two dozen dissidents and criminals from Formos and Faldos underneath the cathedral.

For days he would feed from their despair and misery before dragging them from their cells to the laboratory to torture them until their blood had been drained from their bodies in several containers. Into this mixture of blood, stained by such powerful emotions, he would pour his own wrath alongside several other alchemical compounds before using a small amount to forge the main blade and handle of the sword. Leather soaked in the mixture would form the grip as the Durasteel parts were quenched in the mixture, allowing the metal to further soak in the potent cocktail of emotions.

Ur-Kittat runes were carved into the sword and filled with alchemical salts that would glow in the presence of the Force, although the very nature of the blade meant that the salts maintained a constant dim light regardless. After the sword was fully assembled, Alisteri would meditate over it for an entire day to focus more of his own hatred into it before the sword was finally done. Although he wouldn't wield it at all times, due to how obvious it was to any Force sensitive, the dreadful blade would serve its intended purpose in due time. For it was the blade of an executioner, the symbol of his office, the sign of a warlord.
