SHOREHAVEN RESORT

The Southern Systems were not immune to troubling times.

In recent history, the Galaxy was no stranger to turmoil. It was said that strife could always be found among the stars - yet the present chaos had been nearly unprecedented. Practically every civilization had taken up arms against one another. Light vs. Dark. Conqueror vs. Victim. It was fortunate, then, that the Confederacy had thus far stayed the inferno of the conflicts from burning their people. Yet, even they were unable to remain unphased. Though their worlds and citizens remained safe, there were untold millions fleeing for their lives. For decades, the Confederacy had made accepted survivors of conflict with open arms - yet the practices they had in place were immediately overrun.

Monastery, the designated world for refugees, was unable to effectively house the influx. What's more, thousands of ships continued to appear by the hour. With no end in sight, the elected officials of the nation deliberated on a plan to effectively resolve the crisis. The answer would not come overnight, as was the burden of politics. But in the meantime, the spirit of charity inspired other avenues. A collaborative effort was launched between the federal government, corporate sponsors, and the local leadership of Scarif. A factility, typically utilized exclusively by Confederate personnel, would be opened to the public for one weekend only. This was no military installation or political holding, mind.

Officially, it was dubbed the Confederate Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Facility. But most knew it, almost affectionately, as Shorehaven.

The locale was one of the finest resorts that the nation had ever erected. It was intended to serve as a reward for those defenders and leaders of the nation - a place where one might unwind from the call of duty. There were countless amenities and breathtaking sights - from flawless beaches to spas to a literal casino. Shorehaven had every means of restoring even the most exhausted soldier. However. For a brief time, the gates would be opened in the spirit of charity. In order to partake in Shorehaven's bounty, one would simply need to purchase a ticket from one of the well-advertised outlets. All proceeds would immediately be committed to providing the refugees with valuable supplies whilst they awaited a concrete resolution.

In essence, one could literally save a life by dipping their toes in the sand.

It was the simple things in life that Hecate enjoyed most. And at that very moment the sensations she was experiencing could not be adequately described with words. The warmth of the sunshine's rays as she looked toward the sky, mixed with the taste of sea-salt as it was blown about by the breeze, was a combination that left her soul elated.

The day was magical and reminded her that there was still beauty to be found in the galaxy despite the current refugee crisis and all that had happened. War had taken a toll. There had been so much destruction, and violence, and one catastrophe after the next that she had almost forgotten what it was to be still, and be happy.

And while opening Shorehaven for a weekend was not a permanent fix to the calamity, it was a start in addressing the problem at hand. One weekend would generate enough income to support a number of refugees while the elected officials figured out their next move. It was a good cause and one Hecate was willing to support, and so she had not hesitated in purchasing three tickets.

The sand shifted beneath her bare feet when she stepped into the water, moving on a whim, without a care in the world. The rolling waves crashed into her shins, threatening to sweep her from her feet should she misstep. She was not afraid as the water reached her knees, and then her thighs, where it touched and soaked the bottom of her dress. The humming of the wave-song beguiled her; calmed the restlessness of her spirit. The dreamy sea was its own master, moving to the beat of it's own drum, much like she did. She admired how it could not be controlled. But there was something, or rather someone, that kept her from being lost in the moment.

As her happiness blossomed into laughter, she turned and searched the shore for that specific person; one of the two that claimed her heart, whom her universe had begun to revolve around the day they met. And when she saw him, Aether, a man forged of Iron, she smiled.

The facility was beautiful, Slip had to admit. The beaches were pristine, the water was crystal clear, the buildings were immaculate and spotless, and there was seemingly so much to do. It was definitely a prime spot to relax and to just enjoy yourself. Slip had to admit, the Confederacy had gone all out making this place; the Confederacy was very good at creating luxurious and breathtaking facilities to just relax.

And yet... Slip hated this place.

Don't get him wrong, he thought that the cause of this event was great. Supporting the refugees was a great cause, and that was the reason why Slip bought a ticket and decided to participate. But... was this really the best way to support the refugees? It seemed... ironic to Slip. The best way to support the refugees was by... doing nothing? By relaxing? It was just... strange to Slip. The entire idea of it was strange. Just by relaxing, they were helping someone? How did that make any sense? Then again, Slip wasn't a genius at political stuff, no doubt someone that was saw the benefit of hosting this event. But still... he just found the entire situation strange.

Another reason why he hated it is because it reminded him of his home planet. With the tropical climate, pristine and lush jungles, it reminded him way too much of his homeworld. Man, he hated that place... He hadn't exactly had good memories there. He hadn't been back there in a while, too, and he would have been happy if he had never had to go back there. So being here, on this planet that reminded him of the planet where the experiments had been created... it definitely wasn't making him any happier.

Slip lay on his back on the beach, laying on the sand, looking up towards the sky. He was still soaking wet from going into the water. He hadn't been in there for long. Some sort of predatory fish and grabbed him and tried to drag him under. He had nearly drowned, but he had managed to escape from the fish, and escaped back to solid land. After that incident, he was definitely liking this planet a lot less. His water-proof jumpsuit was still dripping, and he was just completely soaked.

Nearby, the shadow man was sitting down, watching the waters. Damn hallucinations... couldn't they leave him alone for a day? Slip was never able to get a moment's rest.

"Can't you at least give me a moment of peace?" Slip said to the shadow man, still laying down on the sand.

The shadow man shrugged. "Not my fault your brain made me up."

Slip groaned. "Shut up and get out of my head."

To anyone nearby, Slip would be arguing with himself, since no one else could see or hear the shadow man. To anyone nearby, it would be a strange sight to see, watching Slip arguing with... nothing.

This place was really getting on his nerves.

It had taken far too much convincing, and nearly a royal decree to get anyone to allow Svana to attend this social engagement. More than once she had needed to point out that she would be safe, that there would be plenty of people keeping their eyes and ears open, and that she was a person as well as a monarch. And yet even then, the young Queen had not been allowed to go to Scarif unattended - not that she had expected to. Still, she was getting quite used to having Aeson around all of the time now. Where before he annoyed her with his sighs and the rolling of his eyes that he thought she could not see, now she was all too familiar with the little quirks and gestures. He had become more than a shadow lingering near her, and Svana was no longer concerned with annoying him by whatever it was she was (or wasn't) doing.

So trekking along the sandy beach was going to be enjoyed, whether Aeson liked it or not.

Occasionally the young woman would stop short in her tracks and stoop so that she could collect some form of shell from the sand. If it was in one piece, it would then go into a small pail she had in her other hand. Nothing crazy, there was no abundance of sea shells within the little bucket, but it was something entertaining to the brunette regardless.

"I don't think I've ever been allowed to walk the beach and pick up shells." she finally spoke up over the matter, giving intel as to why something so seemingly simple pleased her. "Even before becoming Queen, my mother wouldn't allow Daeryn or I either one to collect shells." That thought made her somewhat sad; she missed her brother...But she pushed the thought away and continued. "To this day she has some sort of vendetta against sand. Add that to her belief that all things from the sea are filthy, and well, no sea shells for me."

Her gaze drifted to the bucket so that she could look inside. "Though, I don't seem to be very good at it. Maybe I'm too picky." Was it being picky if she wanted whole seashells and not broken ones? Either way, Svana shrugged and continued along. It was nice to do something outside of the palace, without the entire whole of Naboo watching her every move.

Scarif. Such a strange and hot world. Tayl couldn't help but stare at the strange trees as she passed by, Wandering the white shores like an explorer might wander a forgotten temple. It reminded her of home, Of Kamino, In a strange way. The way the sea lapped against the shore, How waves drowned out the melancholy of day to day life with the peaceful crackling of sea foam and droplets cascading against stone and driftwood.
But that water would never be as dark or pleasing as the depths of Kamino's oceans, Nor would she ever again ride an
Aiwha through them.
The thought had her lips pursed to a near frown, Casting her eyes away from the searing light of that bright sea.

Why did I even come here? Maybe it was to support the refugees, True. Or perhaps her mother just wanted to send her somewhere safe in preparation for the next op.
Slip groaned. "Shut up and get out of my head."

Tayl nearly tripped over the green haired lad, Stumbling back and kicking up sand with one bare purple foot as she fell backwards into the white shore, Landing on her behind, Thankfully. Wouldn't want her Lekku to be squished.

"Agh, Sorry..."

Well at least he did not have to travel far.

It was nice that Scarif was this booming planet all of a sudden. So much more to do now than just put his bum on the beach with some booze. Not that that was not fun. But it was also fun to swindle a gambler out of his creds. It was also fun to be able to take Ashryn out somewhere nice. It was even more fun if he could do all of those things at the same time.

It spared him fuel expenses at least.

More creds for booze then.

So when it was advertised all over that the Confederacy were doing a fundraiser thing for some refugees or other at Shorehaven, all Mic saw was an opportunity to take his girlfriend somewhere new. Girlfriend. It still felt strange to think of her as such. They've been partners in crime for so long, they had virtually been dating without even realising it. But to have it so official now - word. It made him all goofy in his stomach when he thought of it.

He did not waste time to purchase them some tickets for Shorehaven with some of the creds he had made from one of their treasure runs. Dressed for a casual evening out, he then headed over to the usually off limits piece of paradise to meet up with Ash.

Hopefully he'll keep his sticky fingers to himself and relieve someone of their credits for one night.

Time enough had been spent 'acclimating' to her new surroundings, making familiar out of unfamiliar, drawing parallels from what she did know to what she came to know and was still learning much about. It wasn't just Naboo, but the whole galaxy outside the Wolfswood, wherein she had spent her entire young life in trickery, evasion, fleeing, hiding, spying, ever hunted until she was caught, but not by those who, as far as she could have known, wiped out her kind. The Gods had seen fit to bring them to her, one of her own, but she couldn't have predicted this would mean leaving behind everything, and the only one who had been everyone to her, until he was stolen: her brother, Åsmund; she had not felt the loss of him, which was only a small comfort in contrast to the persistent fear of how he might be suffering, and her, powerless to do anything, there, and even less so, half a galaxy away, awaiting the fulfilment of a promise that Freya would come for her again, and that something could be done when the time was right. Not just for Åsmund, but for Islimore, and those that remained of her kind. Freya had assured her there were others… time enough, they had said, all but forcing her out into the new.

"Haaa?!” Intense surprise! A splashing ruckus and uproar of laughter came from the water, snapping her out of her distant thoughts, brought on by unfamiliarity of this new place, and the longing for the forests of her homeland. Her gaze was drawn to the noise, but she had nearly jumped out of her skin from its sudden occurrence. So many new noises wound up her anxiety, and she turned her head to look into the strange forest, which she had learned was called a… jungle?... which seemed the better option, here. Safer, perhaps. She had been coaxed into this, with reiterations of 'fun' being promised, but of that she wasn't so sure, and so, fixed to the spot where she sat at the edge of the jungle, caught between wanting to escape and craving connection just as much, Alfie watched avidly, observing them engaging in what was apparently fun (so many things that would get her killed on account of the noise drawing humans), while the ends of her long hair were wound and unwound unconsciously around her slim fingers, with nervous energy. But not all humans… right? So far, she could suppose that bore itself out. Nobody was out to get her, here, in this realm of space. Nobody had even so much as tried. After so many months, she had accepted that as fact, intellectually, but being highly vigilant since she could walk, talk, and comprehend directions was not a thing that could so easily be changed.

But she was undecided on the matter of sand, nudging at the shifting, grainy stuff with bare toes. A sharp squeal drove her hands to her ears, but they didn't remain; at first, trying to cover her ears to cope with the noises of what seemed to be everywhere outside of the Wolfswood only made her arms tired, and then sore, and thus began the seemingly endless process of learning and understanding the noises she heard… this didn't work well, she now knew, when it came to noises she could hear that most others couldn't. How much of that was a Lupo thing, or… was it something else? But the Gods had been deaf to her appeals, out here. That was the most anxious thought of all. Her hands dropped from her ears.

"Oh, Aerðs…" a despondent whisper in the ancient tongue, Wufi, burying her face into her hands, "...who am I, without you?"

She swallowed between silent, new tears, while trying to quell a mild rise of nausea. That was a new thing: at times in recent days, she suddenly felt not well, only for it to pass just as quickly. Strange aches woke her from the depths of sleep, but she hadn't said a thing on the matter, and fervent dreams ruled her dormant hours. How long would this go on? Was she sick, or… was that finally coming? It was hard to say which scared her more. She was to expect the change. It was time. It had been time for long enough, and it had been hard to remain patient, but now that she was faced with the possibility of it being imminent as soon as the next moon, and without another of her own to guide her, she was worried. Scared even.

But not so deep in her self pity that the appearance of someone within arms reach, casting their own shadow over her went unnoticed - no, she jumped a metaphorical ten feet, balance utterly left her, and she became more familiar than she wanted with the sand, in what seemed to be an instant. That she was jumpy was an understatement. That she now had sand in her mouth, stuck to her face, in her hair? it was far from pleasant; she picked up her head after a moment, spitting and sputtering between unintelligible, sharp inflections of the same tongue from barely a minute before. It wasn't until she had met Freya that she learned some words were apparently bad, and the Lupo woman had caught on quick after Alfie started spouting Wufi equivalents, instead, even if Freya didn't understand Wufi. But Freya wasn't here, and words weren't inherently bad.

So there.

The sputtering ended, and she sat up further, hands planted in the grainy stuff, only to shake her head wildly, vibrant hair flying this way and that as grains of sand departed it. It didn’t work quite as well when the fox got dirty, and hair ended up in her mouth for her trouble. Again, she sputtered, and the one responsible for scaring the life out of her was now crouching, getting down to her level, now not going away. Even as her nose twitched at the scent of her frightener, betraying her caution with an injection of curiosity, that drew her young gaze upward, finding a male face and a mane rivalling her own… and he had seen everything. Words, the right ones, the comprehensible ones, escaped her. She swallowed hard, her stomach quailing with the nausea that hadn't left after all. Her arms curled around her abdomen.

This was embarrassing.

He should not have been on the beach wearing all black, and certainly there should have been trunks involved, but Gerwald was not there to swim. He was not one to simply remain idle and enjoy the setting, and he certainly did not like the idea of being pampered or waited on. He was not royalty, nor did he consider himself someone to be doted on. His was to serve rather than be served, so he would walk the beach. It was the least he could do.
Lunara Azure Lunara Azure had tried to convince him that he needed to learn how to relax, but Gerwald had insisted that they could do something like that the next time they met. It wasn’t too often they met, but it seemed that Gerwald was around Lunara more than they had once been. Their meetings were often more intentional since Gerwald’s promotion. Perhaps it was simply that the wolf knew he needed to make time for his friends, but there were very few who received the attention Lunara was given.
She was close, and if Gerwald were forced to admit it, she was special. The woman had helped him cope with the grief which had consumed him in regards to Naedira. She still did not realize fully that it was possible Naedira could return, but the ring the wolf always wore around his neck, the one he fidgeted with, she knew was important. Gerwald had explained it was a tether, but not to what. In many ways it was easily explained as a reminder of the bond they had once shared, one they still did under certain circumstances.
They were supposed to meet on the beach, and that is where Gerwald would be found waiting, or where he should have been. There was a scent on the air which had caught his curiosity. It was young, new, but unmistakable. Another wolf was near, and this one reeked of their first change.
Gerwald sighed as he began to wander off in the direction of where the shifter would be. Memories of his own time had flashed in his mind. He could still feel how painful it had been if he concentrated enough. The experience was not pleasant, and while it had only lasted a few minutes, it had felt like an eternity and more. A smile pulled at his lips thinking of how easy it was now, but nothing would be able to take away the memories of that initial experience.
She was doubled over, holding her abdomen. Gerwald wondered if she was close enough to her first change that her sense of smell was active. Would she smell his scent, or would she be so lost in the pain and nausea that she would miss it all. The fiery red haired pup looked about the right age for it.
So this is what raising a child would have been like. Gerwald only had one question on his mind. Why was she alone? She should not have been. The girl needed someone to help her, to guide her through the first change. Would that have to be him?
“Hurts like a bantha doesn’t it?”
The question came as he stepped into view.
“It eventually gets better, but this first one… well it’s going to suck, and it will until you learn to control it.”
Oh force… where was Lunara. Gerwald needed a woman for this talk.

SHOREHAVEN - SHORE

The Mandalorian felt...nude.

It was the expectation of their people too don their armor at all times. Of course, there were common exceptions - such as relieving one's self or life within their homestead. Yet, for excursions into the sun? Beskar had best be gleaming underneath its rays. At least, that was the justification that the man had attempted to provide whilst packing up the transport. In this, Aether was woefully outnumbered. Though it did clash with what he believed, the "back and forth" was punctuated with no end of chuckles and smiles. It was hard not to feel joy when in their presence, even though the Galaxy was topsy turvy around them.

At times, Aether almost felt guilty for the life he had. Happiness. Purpose. He had been blessed with so much when there were billions that had so little. At least, for the time being, they had the means of using their happiness for good. A weekend retreat to Shorehaven was something that both Hecate and Ceres were eager to explore. But beyond this? The proceeds for each ticket went directly to keeping refugees fed whilst the government worked their magic. Bureaucracy was slow - this could at least be swift.

Their happiness would save lives. That was more than Aether could ask for.

Thus, he relented and set foot upon the warm sands. It felt...odd...yet satisfying to feel the grains race between his toes. He settled his hands upon his hips, admiring the glistening waves before him. For once, the man was wearing only a pair of swim trunks. No beskar'gam - not even an underlay. Simply bare flesh exposed to the sun. Aether had almost forgotten how it felt. And awaiting him was the Mage. She turned amidst the waves, greeting him with a smile. Like a moth to open flame, he was drawn in.

His advance was the furthest thing from graceful. Long, sloggish steps were taken into the waves until he was but an arm's length away.

"Okay, I'll admit it. This is nice."

"I told you it would be."

The differences between the three of them was glaringly obvious at times, and this seemed to be one of them. Hecate could see the uncertainty, the mixed-emotions, in Aether's expression and the way he moved whereas she was at ease, moved without urgency, and felt at home out of besker.

Hecate greatly enjoyed the moments in-between war and confrontations, and traditions and political intrigue, where she could shed besker, and clothing, and responsibility and just be. And she enjoyed them more when with Aether and Ceres. Today was a day for just that. It was a day to breath. To relax and be happy. And she was delighted that Aether was willing to at least try and enjoy himself.

She reached out and rested a palm over his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin and his strong heartbeats. Just being near him was enough to invoke her affection. She drew him closer, so that she could hold him close. Displays like this were reserved for Aether and Ceres. She leaned against him and kissed him softly.

"Thank you..." she said, smiling at him again. "...for coming with me today."

Being the galaxy’s greatest Minister of Science was a tough gig. It required a queer blending of savvy, determination, and equal parts genius and madness. Having none of those things, Vis relied solely on cunning, treachery, and the occasional misdirection to fly beneath the radar of government. Earlier, she’d defied her own policy of staying out of discussions of policy and addressed the Viceroyalty. Brilliant way to stay out of the limelight. Oh well, at least this time no one had to call on either a coroner or a cleaner, so that’s something.

But now, she was on Scarif, walking along the golden sands of the Sunset Shore, drenched in the spray of the ocean and the rays of the sun, not to mention a barely there little red number she’d picked up…somewhere. This was for charity, a means by which the Confederacy could finance the burgeoning humanitarian concerns the recent influx of refugees brought. Vis never liked admitting she had a soft spot, particularly aloud, in front of others, and most especially to herself, however this was different. She was Dagatan, a Daughter of Shalya, and her own people were forged from the flotsam and jetsam of the galaxy centuries ago. For her, this issue was personal. Hence why the fifteen million credits deposited in the name of her nation. In their honor…their memory. Dagata was many things, but poor was never one of them, not in centuries.
Besides, if by some strange miracle our funds did somehow one day run low, we’d just steal more, she grinned, thinking to herself.

That however, is a worry for a much distant future, she reminded herself. For now, the Baroness thought, for now, the real concern is finding a drink or thirty, and a beach toy to play with…something cute, female, and preferably without inhibitions.

Sand was dreadful. Water? A disaster. Either of the two while having metal limbs? Well Diana wasn't happy with the turn of events. Her body was terribly lopsided balance wise due to the left prosthetics, and she knew the struggle that was awaiting her. Hot weather didn't work for her and this wasn't going to make a difference. Thus she pained her mind for a moment to remember why she was even here.

Days prior the sale for the tickets had begun. She had seen the word 'charity' and decided to contribute what she could. Getting a ticket with the intention of just checking it out and leaving. Instead she had found herself in the middle of a hangar hour later with 'The Red Hare' needing to be repaired and her trip up for discussion among the many chatty droids. She normally wouldn't let that influence her, but when the droids started naming off why they would be better recipients of the ticket then the others, she had to step in. It was a pain, but she was here now, the Hare on stand by in the distance... But for now... What the hell.

It had been a while since she last been on a beach. It was when she just learned how to use her prosthetics. The medical droids had advised training in water, to regain her ability to walk properly. Surely they had meant a pool, but the flame haired woman sadly missed that memo. So to her utter dismay, she found herself dragged out of the water moments later, having been subjected to the disgrace of having the artificial limbs get sucked into the sand and nearly drowning. Since then the small collection of sun dresses she owned had been mostly for show. If only for the fact she disliked showing off the wounded body she now lived in quite so prominently. The ability to bind her chest was also hindered greatly, so she had opted not too. Between her fair rounded chest was a scar clearly visible. Her sleeves covering most of the arms and the long dress concealing half the legs, she still stood out quite a lot. Her bright red hair, still decorated with many silver ornaments, emerald green eyes and thick scars across her left eye, would suffice in that all by themselves already. The soft breeze making the hair dance slightly, as the silver pieces jingle softly against one another.

The white fabric was thin enough, it wasn't armour after all. She would have preferred armour. But her stubborn behaviour got her here, and she would at least give it her best shot. Soft strides she took, avoiding the sand as much as she could to walk past the forest. Commotion erupting from a few people, each seemingly doing their own thing. She tried to ignore it for now, first things first, a place to sit, and enjoy herself.

A few meters off the bustling, she realized the bustling would take up the whole beach. With a small sigh she resigned herself to this fact and walked to the small spot near the edge of the water, a child had seemingly dug a trench. It allowed water to get just close enough to bath her feet in, without having to actually step into the water. The sand with every step displacing just enough to make the heavy steps noticeable. The muscular woman finally reaching the spot she chose, lowering herself and carefully placing herself at the trench's edge. A soft sigh of relief escaped her, the commotion was more then the quiet she was used too by now, but this wasn't half bad. One of the people off just a little bit from her, buckled over in what looked to be discomfort. If it got worse she'd go over, but for now it seemed like someone was with her already. All would be fine surely...

The feeling of sand between your toes was, well ticklish, the wet grains of sand clinging to your skin, footprints stretching back as far as the eye. The beach belong to the resort, a stretch of white sand that stretched along the water’s edge, the crystal blue water lapping at the sand. It looked like something from out of a postcard, from out of a painting. Picturesque like few things she’d ever seen before. The entire scene was relaxing, an aura of contentment that seemed to suffuse everything that the light touched, sinking into her soul. For a moment she could feel those ephemeral chains that bound her during her every moment. For a moment she could breathe again, could walk without that pressure that seemed to haunt her. She knew that it was only temporary, a respite unique to this place, this time but she wasn’t going to turn it down.

A delicate hand reached up, catching an errant strand of hair that had been tugged in front of her face by the gentle breeze she could feel blowing along the shore. For a moment the young woman paused, swiveling in place as she looked out over the sea, over the glistening crests of the waves washing up against the shore. Lunara could feel the wind tugging at her dress, that cooling touch to her forehead that sent her hair billowing out behind her like a golden cloak.

For a moment, a precious moment in time she could relax.

For a moment she could breathe.

It was...a moment that prove to be too short, too fleeting. She knew Gerwald was supposed to meet her out here, the best she could do at getting him to relax. It was a shame, she’d heard great things about the amenities of the hotel, the facilities it had been built with. This was a haven for the members of the CIS to unwind in, to relax from the pressure exerted by their duties, a spot away from the eyes of the galaxy that watched and judged their every action. It was a weight she’d felt herself on more than one occasion, chains that restricted, that held her down.

She hated that.

Blue eyes cast around the shoreline, looking for the man who had said he’d meet her here, it wasn’t like Gerwald to be late. Especially if it meant he got a chance to poke fun and tease her for being out of her element. A moue of annoyance touched her lips as she reached out to the force, that energy that surrounded them even now. She could feel the wolf, smouldering in the force, like a burning beacon barely held in check. Control had been drilled into her again and again from her youth but he was a tempest barely held in check by his willpower. And beneath the storm that was the Lupin another spark burned, so similar she’d almost missed it. That moue of displeasure turned into a decidedly more mischievous smile as she stared at the sandals in her hands before shaking her head, wrapping her feet in waves of the force, levitating herself a centimeter off the ground. Now who was at one with nature.

A short journey, really just a few steps lead her to the clearing where the wolf was leaning over the red-haired girl, eyes taking in the scene.

“See, this is not what I thought I’d find you standing me up for. Is she ok? What happened?”

The invitation to attend this fund raiser, in the high end, usually top tier only, 'you're-not-allowed' establishment was too good to pass up. Just hearing word from Mic that he had gotten the pair of them tickets to attend had made Ashryn's fingers twitch in anticipation. The idea of dipping into deep pockets to relieve those who had too much of their credits? Oh it was the little thief's wildest dream come true!

But...it was also for charity...

The idea of behaving was not one that overly appealed to Ash, but in this particular case? It needed to be done. For once, the state and fate of others needed to come before her own natural (or unnatural) need to line her pockets with things that did not originally belong to her. And with that in mind, she steeled herself before getting ready in her casual enough little dress, to meet with her now boyfriend at this shindig.

...Boyfriend. Such a simple word, and yet it brought the silliest of smiles to Ash's face each time she thought about it. Up until recently, everyone around them had seen them as a pairing, it just wasn't officially so. Well, now that had changed. It did not feel strange to Ash, it was actually no different from what they had already been doing. Now there was just an adorable, official label on it.

And it was with that lightheartedness that Ashryn found her way to Mic. She was on time - though that was never unexpected or surprising of the woman, considering her need to have things planned out properly - and once she caught sight of her date, the blonde's smile grew and she approached him without hesitation. "You look ruggedly handsome. Which is my favorite kind." not that he didn't know that, clearly. "Not quite sure if I want to share you with everyone else or not." she added in a tease. This would be a good day, she could feel it.

WEARING: Not armour (feels strange)

"You're kidding right?"

He had gaped at his Queen after she had told him that, seeing as he was coming along to Scarif anyway, that he could at least dress the part. "Captain of the Guard - not wear armour while protecting you from the next Eternal zealot that would try something? A recipe for success indeed!" Not that he expected that she would relent, despite his worries.

And he was right.

So here he was, in casual dress, jeans rolled up to his calves, tagging along after his Queen. At least they could settle on a compromise. His blaster was transferred from its usual place on his usually armoured hip to a casual holster that strapped across his back. And his Phrik knife concealed in the small of his back just for good measure. It made him feel slightly better about this whole expedition...uh...leisure trip.

He had gotten quite used to her innocent ramblings. He no longer rolled his eyes at them. Nor did het annoyed at them anymore. He just listened. The walking soundboard. So he followed closely behind her, carrying both their shoes, listening to her muse about her family. When she mentioned her brother, in particular, he scowled, however. He wanted little more than to put that galactic sleemo on his butt. Yes, he made good music. But the way Daeryn treated his sister? It made Aeson bristle.

When did that happen?

He forced his attention back to Svana's ramblings.
"What about the ones with nice colours? Even if they are broken? You can have a nice collage made with different pieces." he asked her after clearing his throat. "We can grind the different pieces so that they fit into one another." he then added the suggestion.

His eyes were still darting all around. You never knew when someone was waiting in ambush.

Frankly, Slip had been surprised when someone nearly tripped over him. He had been incredibly distracted by the things in his head that he had completely lost concentration on what was going on around him.

The girl had nearly tripped over him, stumbling backwards, and kicking up sand before falling to the ground. Slip yelped as sand got kicked into his face, basically blinding him. He sat up quickly and shook his head, wiping the sand out of his eyes with his hands. He looked over at the girl. There, also sitting down, was a violet Twi'lek, sitting on the ground. His vision was still blurry, as he still had some sand in his eyes.

"Agh, Sorry..."

"No, no, don't be!" He told her, rubbing the last of the sand out of his face. "It was my fault, I should be apologizing to you. I was laying down right in the middle of where people would be walking. And I probably should I have noticed you coming and warned you that you were about to step on me. I was just distracted. This place is just..." Slip trailed off, before quickly snapping back.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to trail off. You probably don't want to hear about any of that stuff." He said, having rubbed out the last of the sand out of his face and looking up at her.

"Are you okay, though? You seem... distracted, is all." Slip asked her.

There was definitely something nice about getting to step away from all of the pomp and circumstance that ruled Svana's day to day life back home. Of course there were days when she was allotted the time to relax, to breathe a sigh of relief and not worry about - well try not to worry about all of the things that rested upon her shoulders. But that was the real kicker, there was never any real shutting down and relaxing back in Theed. Everything reminded her of the things Svana should be doing instead of the things she wasn't doing.

Which was the main reason this invitation, this escape had been so important to her. The young Queen needed an escape, even if it was only for a day or two. Just a little time to breathe and been Svana in all of her entirety.

"Colored ones?" Svana had paused in her steps and gave the ground around her a thoroughly looking over. Sure enough, there were indeed colorful pieces of shell loitered about. "You have a much better eye than I do." which was most definitely why he was there to watch her back and not the other way round.

The brunette stooped so that she could run her fingers against a couple of the pieces, and once she seemed to find something she liked she went through the same process of picking them up, dusting them off, and then putting them into the pail. Though eventually she seemed to find one that didn't want to be cleaned off with her fingers. Svana scoffed gently and glanced once towards the waves lapping at the shore, then did a double take before her feet were moving. She made her way right to the waters, not seeming phased a bit when they rushed over her feet and against her shins. It actually felt nice, though threatened her balance as she bent in order to wash the seashell off of it's caked on sand.

"I still like the whole ones," she let out once she was upright again. "But I like the idea of a colorful, seashell jigsaw puzzle." again the waves rolled against her legs and it caused the Queen to teeter, but she remained on her feet. So far so good!

Oh, he was frank. Straight to the point, but his words matched the scent that piqued her nose. Alfie grimaced, through slow, even breaths, one of the many useful things her brother had taught her, and Freya reiterated. It kept the panic at bay. It calmed, allaying the nausea somewhat. It was a focus. When someone else joined him, and asked after her well-being, her blue-eyed gaze went up to the pale woman, and fixed there for several moments, her nose twitching... human? Her eyes squeezed shut and she shook her head sharply, as if to derail that train of thought. Not all humans. Not all humans. She looked to the other wolf, her brow knit together, and she wet her lips.

"Like a razorbush, but inside. Everywhere inside."

Unfurling her arms from about her torso, Alfie began to attempt to stand. It wasn't great to look like a wounded animal, but in getting her feet under her, it was woefully apparent how unsteady she was, gritting her teeth. Each day the effects came on with more frequency, edging ever closer to unyielding, the pain going on for longer bouts. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, not just from her body planning to rearrange itself, and she relented, having only come to a crouch, arms wrapping about herself again.

"Who are you?"

The what was now obvious, for his part, and that could be a relief.

"Dumb and posh?" She stifled a chuckle while forcing herself back onto her feet "I mean, uhm... It is beautiful here though! Just... Not my usual environment"

"Uhm, Right. Hi!"
She chuckled again, Holding out a hand for the green haired lad to shake "I'm just... This is all new to me. I've never seen a planet like this before! It's... Pretty, But I don't want to be here really, Just here because my mother wants me someplace safe and-"

"Right, right. Tayl, Tayl Vizsla. I meant to introduce myself earlier, But I'm- Well, Distracted as you said
" She scratched the back of her lekku, Trying to figure out why she was such a mess today... And maybe clean some sand out.

"I swear I'm not usually this flustered! "

The Progenitor stood still, almost unmoving, on the balcony overlooking the water. The waves crashed far below, filling the man with a sense of calm and peace. He found it...amusing that his first stop after his release from isolation was to a social gathering. But what else was there for him to do? His newfound Mentor had matters to attend to. He could not begin his training...retraining, he supposed, yet. He sighed quietly, and turned to leave the balcony. He wanted to be closer. He wanted to feel the sand beneath his boots.

And so he strode out across the sands towards the water. He was not hurried. He had all the time in the world. Today? Life in itself was a meditation. A meditation he was engrossed in. As he drew near to the water, he noticed the figure of a woman sitting at the water's edge. He paused beside her, hands clasped neatly at the small of his back. The man was unarmed as appearances went. But his uniform was crisp and clean. Were it not for a lack of markings, it could certainly pass for an officer's uniform. His stance, his poise, all spoke to a man of history. Of discipline.

Perhaps most unusual about him was his face. Along his jaw, several ridges protruded, not unlike a Sith Pureblood. And yet his skin was as pale as a human's. His black hair was tied back in a strict ponytail, and deep purple eyes stared out across the water. The hints of the Force played about him, but it was as if from a distance. This, paired with the stark white robes, almost painted the picture of a medical patient. Voph smirked to himself as the thought crossed his mind. Not far from the truth. "It is quiet today," He remarked in a soft yet deep voice. "I would have expected far more people upon the sands today."

Voph turned his head slightly as an itch formed in the back of his head. He saw a being further down the beach he recognized. Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner . And close at hand, Lunara Azure Lunara Azure . Two beings he vaguely recognized from...he didn't exactly know where. But for some reason, when he looked at Gerwald, he felt a small swell of pride. Lord Commander, the voice inside his head intonned. One of the precious few people to know of what had transpired, Voph wagered. All in due time. Voph's attention turned back to the water before him. There would be time to reunite with old friends, and get to know them once again...
