Skirmish Skirmish on Florn

Hᴏɴᴇsᴛ ʀᴏɢᴜᴇ

SithArchivesDuel

MISSION BRIEFING
Summary: Deep within the jungles of Florn, a remote and treacherous world on the fringes of Sith space, lies a long-forgotten monument to the dark side: the Florn Sith Archives. Only days ago, the Sith Overseer of the Archives was assassinated in a brutal Kaggath by a rival lord seeking to claim dominance.

In the resulting power vacuum and infighting, the Archives' existence was exposed. The local Jedi Watchman, operating undercover within the region, has confirmed the site houses what may be the largest surviving collection of pre-Gulag Sith tomes dedicated to forbidden Sith Alchemy and ancient Dark Side sorcery.

Master Gario Galahad Gario Galahad has answered the call. Leading an assault team delivered by advanced stealth shuttles, the strike force must infiltrate the facility, destroy the archives before the rival Sith factions consolidate power, and exfiltrate before a larger Kainate fleet arrives to secure the site.

Time is crucial as the shuttles can only remain on the surface for three hours. After that, the team risks being cut off and overwhelmed. The stakes are immense. These ancient texts represent irreplaceable knowledge of the earliest and most potent applications of the Dark Side. Allowing them to fall into the hands of the resurgent Sith Order would grant them considerable power.
JEDI FORCES OBJECTIVES
  • Primary Objective: Locate and completely destroy the central Florn Sith Archives
  • Secondary Objectives:
    • Infiltrate the Archives undetected and secure a path for the demolition team.
    • Neutralize or bypass any remaining automated defenses and loyalist Sith guards before they can call for reinforcements.
    • Recover or destroy any active Sith alchemical experiments or mutagenic specimens that could be weaponized.
    • Ensure the safe extraction of the assault team within the three-hour window.
  • Tertiary / Optional:
    • Capture or eliminate high-value rival Sith figures present in the chaos.
    • Rescue any imprisoned or enslaved individuals encountered within the facility.
OPPOSING FORCES OBJECTIVES
  • Primary Objective: Protect the Archives at all costs and repel the Jedi incursion
  • Secondary Objectives:
    • Activate emergency security protocols and summon nearby Sith forces.
    • Secure and evacuate as many valuable tomes and artifacts as possible.
    • Hunt down and eliminate the Jedi strike team to prevent word of the Archives from spreading further.
  • Tertiary / Optional:
    • Use the chaos to eliminate rival Sith claimants and seize control of the Archives for personal gain.
    • Deploy experimental alchemical creations or dark side rituals against the intruders.

The stealth shuttle landed in the jungle clearing. The ramp opening into the humid atmosphere of Florn as K'krohl was the first to exit, his arms tucked into his sleeves as he paused for a moment, his tusks slightly parted as he inhaled the air, which was thick with the scent of damp rot and the faint, unmistakable scent of dark side corruption lingering from the Sith Archives.

Once the area was deemed safe, he signaled for the rest of the assault team to disembark from the shuttle. Some members had brought their own vessels for extra support during this mission which he would gladly accept without complaint. A small wooden box was quickly unloaded from the cargo hold, revealing several backpacks.

"Each of us will take a pack; there are five thermal detonators allocated per person. No more, no less, or we risk attracting the attention of the nearby Sith Order's scanner relays." He said, with a gesture to make his point. This was the best team he could gather on such short notice, but they would have to suffice since the other Jedi Enclaves and independent operatives were occupied with preparing for more conventional battles.

He moved to the center of the group, bowing his head in respect for accepting such a dangerous assignment. "I will warn you now that the path ahead will not be easy, destroying historical records even ones tainted with the Dark Side will bother some of you. As galactic citizens we should be stewards of knowledge but we cannot allow the Sith any more chances to cause destruction" He said with an open posture to ease any lingering tension from his speech.

They were not here to mindlessly destroy things simply because they happen to belong to the Dark Side, instead this was a preventive measure to ensure the galaxy would survive long after they were gone. "Stay in formation," he instructed, his tone firm yet acknowledging the specialized skills each individual brought to the table.

"This is not a solo effort. Watch each other's flanks. If the Sith defenders emerge, hold your ground just long enough to ensure your charges are set. Your lives are more valuable than a few stacks of cursed tomes. Once the last detonator is armed, we converge on the extraction point. We go in together, we finish the objective, and we leave. Clear?" He waited for the team to acknowledge, ensuring everyone understood the stakes and their roles. He then turned to the dense foliage, his hand resting on his lightsaber pommel, waiting for the signal to lead the way toward the archives.

Braze bowed his head as he listened to Gario Galahad Gario Galahad 's speech. He knew the man was right, even if Braze had always disliked the destruction of knowledge. His thoughts drifted to Elora Praithwyn Elora Praithwyn and the conversation they had shared when they first met.

"Understood,"
he said quietly.

The sentiment behind their mission was true. The less dangerous knowledge remained within reach, the less likely it was that bad actors would twist it into something cruel. It was necessary, especially after all the evil the Sith had wrought over the past year and a half.

The Sith were in for a rude awakening once traction became motion and the pieces began to move again. Several Jedi Shadows had been killed. Jedi Enclaves had suffered persecution. Braze's work was certainly cut out for him, and he intended to oppose the Sith every chance he had.

He checked the thermal detonators he had been given, making certain each one was secured within his mag-lock pouches. Almost affectionately, the little explosives reminded him of his student, Beltor "Bell" Cyrus Beltor "Bell" Cyrus , who had always seemed rather fond of the destructive power such a small device could wreak.

Darth Morta had heard rumours of a Jedi raid on Florn, a planet not far from her own holdings on Krayiss II. She could have mustered an army, loaded up a fleet, raised the hue and cry over this. That might have earned her a pat on the head and some meaningless words of praise. Morta had a better plan, though there were artifacts and scripture she could steal and add to her personal collection or to the Library Temple nominally under her control; anyone who cared would be here with her to stop the Jedi, and anyone who found out afterwards would assume they were stolen or destroyed by the Jedi.

Morta did not dare to bring any of her own forces to help her, any abnormal movement of troops could give away her knowledge of events and result in a larger raid that could bring down a larger force on the Archives or a cancellation of the raid that could cover her tracks.

Darth Morta had sensed rather than heard the shuttle arriving, the spike of threat in the force that had her Danger Sense on edge, which technically could have been anything, but given her foreknowledge, she knew as sure as she could know anything that this was the start of the raid. She could have, but didn't take any steps to awaken any of the defences beyond the ones that never were deactivated, she could not afford to tip the foe off that she knew of their arrival.

Objective: Recover archives before Jedi Strike Team destroys everything.

Hydra probably should have called it in. He probably should have tipped off a Sith with more command of greater forces than he currently possessed, but he knew if he had done that, credit would have inevitably, naturally gone to someone else. Hydra was getting tired of playing to the whims of so called greater Sith. After a century of experience he knew if he had bothered to play in the halls of power he could be considered one of the great Sith Lords. Perhaps, or perhaps he would have fallen either from the outside forces arrayed against such Sith or from the Sith forces own internal machinations.

Hydra believed in the Sith code.

Peace is a lie. There is only Passion.

Through Passion, I gain Strength.

Through Strenght, I gain Power

Through Power, I gain Victory

Through Victory, my chains are Broke

The Force Shall Free Me

Hydra had come to believe his recent approach of ingratiating himself with the denizens of power had been flawed. To truly excel he needed to start looking out for his own interests, after all in the circles of the Sith no one was ever just handed power. It was taken.

So when he had learned of a Jedi raid on a sacred Sith site, he had been faced with a choice. Call it in perhaps at most take part in the defence of the site, or he could take advantage of the situation. Use the opportunity presented to him to… recover several useful tombs, scrolls and other valuable pieces of lore for his own collection.

It was a risky proposition not only because he would be risking the ire of his own people but also the not inconsiderable threat of a Jedi strike team. Then again Hydra's goal wouldn't be to intercept, nor defend the site, but get in and out before it went boom.

Hydra hummed contentedly to himself as he piloted his craft Fury class interceptor down to the surface and exited, he consulted his schematics of the Sith temple and started to make his way to the archives. As he arrived in at the archives he found he was not alone.

"Greetings" Darth Hydra said to the Sith. Well this put a complication on things.

The dark metal hull of the shuttle set down right next to the Jedi one, it's cloaking technology further amplified by the speed by which it caught up and joined the strike team's landing. It's landing gears hissed silently, decompression sounds coming from the interior as the ramp lowered and a figure emerged.

Aurelian felt no obligation to the Jedi, but reason demanded action.

Sith had become an infestation, a plague, a carrier of death and terror. If anything, the last Emperor he served confirmed that. The false tyrant should remain elusive or there would be a reckoning. Now he did not know the Sith of Florn or what they did here, his eyes and ears simply reported about this opportunity and he followed with haste.

The tall figure entirely clad in golden trimmed plate joined the strike team, fully aware that the chance of them attacking him is not negligible. His winged helmet made him even taller, the knightly silhouette reinforced by a long tabard and cape that flowed in deep crimson from his shoulders. A warrior-king, a dark paladin of folk tales and stories incarnated. At his side hung a longsword, sheathed, opposite of that a holstered blaster.

"I am here to aid in your quest, Jedi. The Sith must not be permitted to further abuse the knowledge collected here."

Aurelian's voice was calm, measured and perfectly clear. Yet it also bore a tone of caution, fully intent on defusing any potential hostilities or ill will before it could turn into irreversible actions.

Shem offered only a nod of his head. This was his element. He was ready to see a place like this brought to rubble, considering the threat it posed to the innocent people of Florn. Braze was here too, whom he had not seen since the Tingle Arm. Strange. He knew that humanoids did not grow quite like Rishi, but Shem was certain he was only a few years older than his Echani peer.

Maybe he just needed a few more years to hit his growth spurt.

And then there was the random imperial that decided to tag along...

"I suppose we'll see if your words hold water in time," Shem stated. "Just don't expect to be pals, yeah?"

His tone paused. A black haze washed over his eyes as he saw visions of what was to come. A scarlet skinned woman, a man with a flat, pale face. Shem let out a sharp exhale as the brief sight slipped from his gaze. To be a seer was a blessing and a curse. Today, at least, it allowed him to see their enemy before they saw them.

"Two are here," the knight relayed. "The Force has shown me. Be on your guard."

She was starting to make a habit of this. Helping Jetii that was. At least she had the excuse of it all being in the interests of the Farworlds Alliance this time. If any of the others had noticed, they hadn't said anything. Thank she Manda for small mercies.

This world was haran, that much was for sure. No wonder the Dar'jetii liked it so much. It was absolutely the sort of world they would. What better world to hide an archive on than a hell hole like this? No one sane would come prying. Then again, no one had accused her and her squad or most of current group of allies of being paragons of sanity. In fact she'd told Braze Braze to tell her when he was going to go jumping into haran.

"We're on final.be advised," came Rav's calm announcement over the gunship's intercom. If it was just the four of them, she would have been tempted to do a HALA jump straight onto the target. With their kit, she would be impressed if they showed up as even a ghost on the readout. This time, however, there were Jetii with her that didn't necessarily have that sort of training.

The whole cabin began last minute checks of their equipment. She barely felt the gunship touching down on its landing claws as the ramp dropped and the cabin lighting changed colors. "Touchdown," came Rav's announcement over the intercom.

"You heard the lady," Saram prompted over squad comms. Davaab squad stood to their feet in quick order, assembling in combat formation. Once she joined them, they filed out of the gunship. Saram walked over to where she could see the Jetii and some massive shabuir in golden armor. How they were going to remain stealthy with this massive shabuir with them was completely lost on her. She hoped to the Manda that beskar'gam of his had stealth tech or he had some jetii'dral technique to not give them away.

She was concerned for a moment that she'd missed the brief, but then Gario Galahad Gario Galahad laid the plan out. She tempted to ask if there was a bonus for killing Dar'jetii shabuire but decided against it. Jetii tended not to share her sense of humor and this one looked like he absolutely would mind the moment of brevity. Most of these Jetii weren't seasoned veterans, anything that might encourage them to not take things as seriously as circumstances demanded was probably not the best idea.

She inclined her head in greeting, "Gentlemen," she started. "Not too late I hope to join in?" she asked. Behind her, Rav's gunship took off and left the LZ, activating its active stealth features as it disappeared into the background and then the sky above. "Don't worry Jetii, we've been doing this long enough to keep the basics in mind," she added, reminding the Jedi that most of that briefing was already second nature to them.

DESTRUCTION OF SITH ARCHIVES
VVVDHjr.png
K'krohl stood still in the jungle clearing, his ears tracking the arrival of each new craft to the designated landing zone. The air grew heavy with the arrival of the Mandalorian gunship, the downdraft flattening the tall, jungle grasses. He watched them disembark, disciplined, efficient.

He looked at the golden-armored Imperial Aurelian Sigismund Aurelian Sigismund , then back to the others. He did not care for their pasts, nor for the politics of the Farworlds Alliance or the lingering shadow of Ilum. He cared only for their current usefulness to the destruction of the Sith Archives.

He turned toward Shem Spinner Shem Spinner , catching the flicker of unease in the younger man's eyes. K'krohl didn't need the Force to know what Shem had seen. He stepped closer, his shadow falling over the Jedi.

"The Force shows you what you fear, not always what is real," K'krohl rumbled, his voice dismissive of the vision.

"Expectations lead to hesitation. When you strike because of a vision, you are not acting; you are reacting. Do not look for them until they are in your blade's reach. Stay in the present." He pivoted, his heavy cloak sweeping the mud as he faced the arrivals. He nodded once to the Mandalorians under the command of Saram Kote Saram Kote , his expression unreadable, then turned his attention to the Imperial. He didn't offer a hand of friendship. He pointed toward the dense, emerald wall of the jungle.

"If you are here to fight the Sith, you have found the right place," K'krohl said, his voice flat. "Your steel will be tested soon enough. But make no mistake: we are not here to wage war. We are here to erase a stain. If your presence draws fire, you will keep that fire away from those planting the charges. That is your role." He didn't wait for a reply as he reached down and scooped up his own pack, the weight being familiar.

He didn't bother checking his saber again; he knew it was ready. He looked at the assembled group, a motley collection of survivors, warriors, and pragmatists. It was exactly the kind of mess that won wars, even if it lacked the grace of the high halls. "Formation," he commanded, his tone suggesting no argument would be heard.

He took the lead, pushing into the thick, tangled brush with a brute force that left a clear, broken trail for the others to follow. He ignored the humidity, the insects, and the shifting eyes of the jungle predators in the dark canopy above. His focus was fixed entirely on the silhouette of the archives waiting in the mist.

Canm knelt down on the floor of the lower archives, his gloved hand brushing the scorched armor of a fallen guard. The air around him was heavy with the taste of ancient dust and the decaying vegetation of Florn's wild jungle seeping through the cracked stone. The evidence was clear, the deep molten grooves carved into the durasteel bulkheads and the clean cauterized dismemberments of the overseer's personal troops left no doubt.

Lightsabers had been used to cause this destruction by an ancient tradition known as the Kaggath. Though as his eyes scanned the silent devastated chamber, a grim realization came over him. The victorious rival Lord was absent. There were no occupying forces, no banners displayed, and no ritualistic claims over the spoils.

The savage, hyper-hostile environment of Florn had likely been too harsh for the victor to sustain a long-term presence, or perhaps the local fauna had forced them back to their ships in orbit. That thought brought a cold sneer to Canm's lips. If the rival Lord had fled the site so readily, it indicated that the prize left behind was not worth the bloodshed to obtain it.

What remained in these immediate chambers was likely lesser incantations, basic alchemical formulas, and insignificant historical records, barely worth the effort of a genuine Sith scholar. Just as he was about to get up from the floor, he sensed something in the force. Canm froze, his hand grabbing the hilt of his lightsaber.

"So I am not alone, they sent you as well." He said to Darth Morta Darth Morta and Darth Hydra Darth Hydra as he came around the edge of the corridor. He didn't know who had sent them to this place, but it was obvious that the Florn Archives possessed some concealed importance that he had yet to realize.

Hydra considered the two other Sith with decorum. It would be foolish to panic like a frightened child with his hand in the cookie jar. Hydra didn't know what the other two Siths purpose were, though perhaps the Weequay Lord answered the question in part. It was clear he had been sent. Which provided Hydra with an opening, he could of course claim to be sent as well, it would be convenient for the time being, but all too easily to disprove once they were all safely away.

No, that would be just as foolish as looking guilty while he befuddled his way through an excuse. No, perhaps a partial truth was in order.

Hydra arms folded into his sleeves.

"Darth Hydra of the Korriban Academy" Hydra inclined his head in respect to both Sith.

"When I heard a Jedi strike team was assaulting these revered halls, I came to recover what relics could be saved before it's destruction. Unfortunately I came upon my information too late to send for the proper reinforcements, so naturally assumed this would be a one man mission. Nevertheless I am glad to have been proved mistaken. It would be of benefit were we all to work together against the forces arrayed. I am of the belief isolated Sith are vulnerable, easier to pick off. I would suggest we not make that mistake."

It helped like all deceptions that it had an element of truth to it. Hydra was after all there for recovery of relics, he genuinely did believe Sith were stronger together than apart and he had no desire to do something rash that would cause conflict amongst the Sith. Still he realised belatedly in his assurances he may have come off imperialistic, as if he were assuming command. Habit of being a teacher of acolytes.

"Please understand, I do not mean to sound imperious it only seems to me the wisest course of action. If either one of you should object or come up with a viable alternative I would be glad to hear of it without qualm."

Hydra waited patiently to hear of the other Sith response. This mission may in fact serve him in unexpected outcomes if he were to form valuable contacts with other Sith in the process. Hydra would find that of more value he suspected than any ancient tombs found within.

Braze passed Shem Spinner Shem Spinner and nudged him briefly with an elbow, offering him a coy grin as his snowy brows lifted. Perhaps, if this were a less serious affair, he might have challenged such a vision and asked if Shem would like to bet on it; instead, he restrained himself to the playful expression he passed his way.

Shem was certainly far larger than Braze remembered from when they had first met all those years ago. He must have been eating his sunflower seeds to grow so big and strong. He offered Jonyna Si Jonyna Si a curious glance, he was worried about her as of late and hoped this missive might give her something she could feel good about doing, like she was making a difference in the galaxy even if just a little. It warmed his heart knowing she had chosen to come as well.

Braze then moved to follow after the others, seemingly sticking to the rightmost and rearmost flank, passing Saram a glance. He was happy to see her taking an interest in being out and about with them on these perilous ventures.

His attention shifted back to their fearless leader as he listened closely to everything being said. He was pleased there were some Jedi still interest din doing the right thing despite difficult circumstances and Braze was ready to support these efforts with galvanized resolve.

Being a distraction was something Braze could certainly do.

"If we get detected, I don't mind drawing attention," he offered in a hushed tone to the group. "I can be very slippery, and I can likely reconvene if I get separated."

He padded forward with the others, using subtle tricks to keep his signature hidden and soften the sound of their steps. His quiet command of the air extended over the footfalls of his companions, smothering the vibrations before they could carry too far, as if the jungle itself had been coaxed into holding its breath.

It felt strangely refreshing to be on this mission. No longer was she trying to play the perfect jedi, no longer was she trying to live up to the ideal the NJO had placed upon her.

This wasn't a jedi mission.

No.

This was a rebel mission. A small strike team doing sabotage.

Clear?"

Jonyna had placed herself high above in the canopy, acting as overwatch. She'd kept her presence in the Force as low as possible, using the jungle itself as a mask on top of her own abilities.

This was her favored terrain, and she knew it.

Rather than speak, the group could hear her voice in their ears. A bit of manipulation of the wind.

"I'll be keeping on guard from above, as we agreed. I know the jungle better than anyone here."

As if to punctuate that sentence, she leapt from one tree to another with a flawless maneuver.

She knew the sith would find them. No mission survives this long. The sith would come, and she would strike them from on high.

This planet felt strange to him. He could feel the dark side of the force here yet he loved he warmth in the air and the trees all around him. Another strange thing was the arrival of aurelian. But hey, he wanted to help so how was he to judge.

Novac was tempted to go up in the trees as jonyna did but knew his place was down on the ground with the others. The main thing he added to this group was his heat sensing pits along his mouth. His physical strength was helpful to but might be less so here. He was also lucky ssither's where naturals at telepathy meaning he wouldn't have to talk and make unnecessary noise by doing so.

Taking his place behind the others on the left so his tail had plenty of room he sent a message to the others through telepathy, "If I sense any heat that shouldn't be there I'll be sure to let you all know the instant I do."

"I am Darth Morta, ruler of Krayiss II. No one sent me. I am here because I choose to be, no more, no less." Darth Morta replied to the Weequay dismissively, if he was going to assume she was some other Sith's errand girl, she wasn't going to pay him and his lack of observational abilities any mind.

Morta had been going through the library stacks, Oathcarver on her back, looking mostly for information on Sith Alchemy to take for herself rather than saving the archives as a whole. The other Sith, who identified himself as Darth Hydra, seemed to be much more educated about these interactions between Sith, and so she addressed him with more respect, as was given to her.

"I do not know how many come, but the level of danger I sense is more than the three of us are likely to be able to fully resist. I propose we save what of the archive seems most valuable, the Library Temple on my Krayiss II can hold what we recover." There was no formal agreement between the Academy on Korriban and Krayiss II's Library Temple, but it was a center of knowledge that Morta maintained for the sake of good relations with the other Sith. "Instead, I propose we treat this archive as a lost cause and focus on making these Jedi pests and their pets pay the price in blood for the desecration they seek."

Morta
stood up and put a couple of tomes into a bag she carried.

The Knight's eyes opened just as Gario Galahad Gario Galahad finished briefing the team on their mission. A singular outcome was expected: Complete destruction of the Florn archives. To not let these ancient texts to be spread throughout the galaxy by the twisted hand of the Sith. Too many lives were already living under the oppression of the Dark. There need not be anymore.

Responding with a simple nod of acknowledgement, Kinoan reached out to accept the backpack. Reaching into the sack, the man pulled out one of the thermal detonators to examine. Effective and sufficient enough for the goal here today. Placing the bomb back into the bag, he slung is around his back, securing it. The rifle sitting on his back was also adjusted. On his left hip lay his lightsaber, a relic of his time serving once as a Jedi, then as an Imperial Knight. Neither title suited Kinoan anymore...not after the fall of them both. Warrior of the Light became a suitable alternative. A combatant of zealous ambition.

While others within the group elected to speak, the man stayed silent, as he did most of the time now. Better to listen and observe than to speak confusion. He studied each member of the task force individually, using what context clues he could to get a sense of who they were, and more so, why they were here. To keep the peace, of course, yet there were also deeper motivations. Deeper explanations. Kinoan did not simply come here on a whim either. He had his own purpose. One to be revealed in time. Continuing the trek through the dense undergrowth, the Dark presence in which this planet was soaked in only grew stronger. They were getting closer.

He stayed on alert, awaiting any surprise attacks, as well as the callout for the group's next course of action.

Canm's dark, deep-set eyes moved between the two of them, sizing up Darth Hydra Darth Hydra academic posture and Darth Morta Darth Morta dismissive pride. A humorless chuckle came from the Weequay's throat. He didn't offer a rebuke to Morta's venom laced tone, nor did he acknowledge her claim over Krayiss II. To a seasoned warrior like himself, the galaxy was full of self-proclaimed rulers governing insignificant rocks and fading monuments.

He had little care for whatever grand titles she wanted to use, a crown meant nothing when the roof was about to collapse. "I don't care who rules what, or who chose to be here," Canm said in the same dismissive tone as the red Twi'lek, fingers curling around the hilt of his lightsaber then withdrawing it fully from its magnetic clip.

"Darth Hydra is right about one thing. Isolated Sith are dead Sith. If a Jedi strike team is already on the ground, we are looking at a coordinated assault backed up by considerable firepower." He stepped past the scattered bones of the overseer's guards, his heavy boots crunching on the fragmented stone. Partnering with fellow Sith Lords was just as dangerous as facing a Jedi vanguard given that treachery was the lifeblood of their Order but survival demanded it.

They had little choice if they wanted to leave this jungle planet alive and with all their limbs attached. Canm looked directly at Morta, glancing at the bag she was stuffing with ancient texts. "If the archives are truly a lost cause, then we stop browsing the shelves and start counting our options," he said, adopting a more tactical outlook on their situation.

"Pride will not secure an extraction. How many transports do we actually have in orbit, or hidden in the canopy? Because if all we have are the single-seat fighters Hydra and I likely arrived in, then we are not moving this library anywhere." He let the statement settle between them, then turned his attention back toward the upper corridors, leathery nostrils flaring as if he could already hear the inevitable reply from the Dark Lord about respect, hierarchy, or some other empty boast.

After a stealthy insertion into the archives, SL-0182 had completed her investigation and come to a similar conclusion as one of the Sith Lords already present ( Canm-Bulnu Bi Canm-Bulnu Bi ). After the Kaggath, the forces of the victorious Sith Lord who had been tasked with holding the archives had found themselves suddenly besieged by the world’s ultra-lethal fauna. Too depleted by the preceding violence to mount an effective resistance, they had hastily extracted, leaving behind their mangled dead to be feasted on by the world’s extreme predators. After stripping the dead of meat and whatever nutrients their bodies could provide, those predators, for the moment, seemed to have moved on.

However, unable to derive sustenance from books, the predators had left many of the archives’ remaining secrets and tomes largely untouched.

SL-0182 stepped into the lower archives, her form shimmering as she deactivated her combat skin’s adaptive camouflage to reveal her presence to the assembled Sith Lords. She knew that they had likely sensed her coming already, so had her weapon cradled against her shoulder, in case they reacted violently to her presence.

As far as she could assess, these particular Sith were not Kainites.

“S-L-zed-one-eight-two,” she announced herself in an even, slightly melodic monotone, features held taut in an eerie smile. “Saaraishash Slatesi Asset.”

She paused, allowing the Sith to process her presence as she listened to their assessment of the situation.

“This world's natural predators might be drawn to any ensuing confrontation with the Jedi,” she continued in the same measured dulcet cadence. “Could they be weaponized to obstruct the Jedi’s mission, in order to create a window for an extraction?”

SL-0182’s brown-eyed gaze remained fixed upon the gathered Sith Lords, serene and unblinking as she awaited their judgment.

"The Force shows you what you fear, not always what is real," K'krohl rumbled, his voice dismissive of the vision.

"Expectations lead to hesitation. When you strike because of a vision, you are not acting; you are reacting. Do not look for them until they are in your blade's reach. Stay in the present."

"The Force shows me what may come to pass," Shem corrected. "Fear is only found if you search for it. If I discover something useful, I will continue to relay it."

Shem wasn't too offended, more just disappointed. Maybe it was harder for people to understand the visions of a seer when they had not received such a sight themselves. It was, of course, less excusable for a Jedi Master. Then again, people weren't perfect. Maybe the Rishi needed to temper his expectations.

"If we get detected, I don't mind drawing attention," he offered in a hushed tone to the group. "I can be very slippery, and I can likely reconvene if I get separated."

Braze seemed confident in his abilities as well, it seemed. They were both Jedi Knights now, so this made sense. There was no reason to hold themselves back in a scenario such as this.

For now, though, Shem simply fell into formation and pressed on. He was curious about these Mandalorians. He was pretty certain that their ilk had been the allies from the Tingle Arm, the ones that had provided the equipment used to improve the Freebird. He was very interested to see them work up close and personal this time around.

Saram's Equipment

Saram signaled for her squad to cloak and move up via the battlenet. In quick sequential order they flickered out of view as their armor's stealth systems came online. They quickly dispersed into combat spaced formation as they moved out toward their objective at combat pace, weapons up. Saram quicky set a waypoint ahead of themselves to dispatch their RD-01R 'Gar Sur'haai' Recon Droid. After their alor got corrected by a Jetii on comms discipline, no one was in the mood to push thei luck.

With groundside transmitters likely having better broadcast power than their jamming equipment, Saram chose not to play their hand by ordering Rav to activate their gunship's advanced communications jamming suite. Especially since it would naturally give away their capabilities almost instantly. They would likely be better served by playing that card later against sentries or to cover their retreat.

"If we get detected, I don't mind drawing attention," he offered in a hushed tone to the group. "I can be very slippery, and I can likely reconvene if I get separated."

Saram was tempted to tell him off for being so reckless and then quickly remembered that he was a Jetii and that she couldn't be there to watch over him. He was more than capable of watching out for himself in any case. In any case, chances were that when it came down to it they were likely going to be the only ones who would be able to remain undetected long enough to completed their objective, but she sure as shab wasn't going to leave him behind, even if she had a job to do. Not here.

"I'll be keeping on guard from above, as we agreed. I know the jungle better than anyone here."
Taking his place behind the others on the left so his tail had plenty of room he sent a message to the others through telepathy, "If I sense any heat that shouldn't be there I'll be sure to let you all know the instant I do."

Typical Jetii, thinking they were the only ones capable of carrying out a task. She was tempted to tell them precisely what she thought of that attitude and precisely where they could shove it, but regained her calm a moment later. Begrudgingly she forwarded the footage from the drones to the Jetii over short-range laser comms. Point-to-point, almost impossible to intercept or track. She hoped to the Manda that their comms came with laser com receiving functions. "Drone footage," she added without letting her annoyance slip through to the point where it was obvious.
