GARIO GALAHAD
- BACKGROUND
-
Gario Galahad grew up on Sorrus and joined the Jedi Order when he was young. He was never flashy, but he was good with people and better at talking than fighting. He earned his Master rank after settling a bitter dispute between two powerful companies within the Galactic Alliance. Both sides were ready to start a private war that would have hurt thousands of ordinary workers.
He was far outside Alliance territory when the Empire returned and took the Core Worlds. By the time the news reached him, the places he had called home were already under Imperial rule. He never got the chance to fight for them, and that failure stayed with him.
Over time, the guilt changed him. The strict Jedi who once followed the Code without question became more willing to make his own choices. He still carries the title of Master and knows the Code by heart, but he now follows what he calls Galahad's Principles. To him, the Code is a guide, not a cage. Sometimes the rules have to bend when the situation calls for it.
Now he drifts from system to system, gambling, drinking, flirting, and using the Force for small things. He might float a bottle across a bar, sense which card will win, or calm down a tense conversation. He still carries his curved-hilt lightsaber, trained in Soresu and Makashi, along with a heavy blaster pistol.
- PERSONALITY
-
Gario listens more than most people expect and has a way of making others feel heard. He enjoys the sound of dice, the noise of a crowded cantina, and a good drink with good company. Most of the time, he comes across as carefree, like a man who decided the galaxy is too big and too broken to take seriously all the time.
That attitude is real, but it also helps him keep the past quiet. The guilt of missing the fall of the Core Worlds still weighs on him, so he fills the quiet with cards, conversation, and another drink whenever he can. Even so, Gario isn't cruel or selfish. He'll help a stranger in trouble and walk away from an easy score if someone innocent would get hurt.
His view of the Jedi Code hasn't changed much, but the way he follows it has. He sees the Code through Galahad's Principles and believes a rule can be set aside if following it would mean failing someone who needs help. He doesn't preach about it. He simply does what he thinks is right.
That same attitude gets him into trouble. Gario can be charming to a fault, flirts without always thinking about the morning after, and drinks more than he should. He'll also risk money, or even his own safety, for the thrill of a good game. Beneath the silver hair and easy smile is a man who still wants to matter and protect something worth protecting. He just isn't sure the old Jedi path is the only way to do

STRENGTHS
People Reader — Years of talking his way through corporate boardrooms and then through seedy cantinas taught Gario how to see what people want and what they fear. He can calm a room or turn a conversation with a few well-chosen words, and he rarely needs the Force to do it.
Flexible Fighter — His curved lightsaber and mix of Soresu and Makashi make him hard to pin down. He defends patiently, then switches to precise, economical attacks. The heavy blaster on his hip means he is never unarmed if someone tries to keep him at range.
Galahad's Principles — He still knows the Jedi Code cold, but he is not bound by rigid interpretations. When a situation calls for bending a rule to save lives or stop greater harm, he can do it without the internal freeze that stops many traditional Jedi.
Lived-In Charm — The silver hair, warm smile, and easy confidence open doors. People often underestimate the "relaxed older gambler" until it is too late.
WEAKNESSES
Guilt That Never Sleeps — Missing the fall of the Core Worlds still weighs on him. On bad nights the drinks and cards are less about fun and more about drowning the feeling that he failed the places and people he once called home. That guilt can make him reckless or cause him to take on fights he does not need to.
Vice as Armor — Gambling, drinking, and casual romance are real pleasures, but they are also ways to avoid deeper responsibility. When something important is on the line, he sometimes reaches for the easy distraction instead of facing the hard choice.
Soft on Commitment — He forms quick, warm connections and then drifts away when things get serious. Old habits from the Order mixed with the fear of losing people again make lasting bonds harder for him than they should be.
Everyday Force Habit — Using the Force for small comforts and minor cheats has become second nature. In a real crisis he sometimes reaches for the Force the same casual way he would float a drink across a table, and that can leave him unprepared when the situation demands full focus and restraint.
Blaster Reliance — He trusts the heavy pistol as much as the lightsaber. Against a skilled Force user who can shut down blaster fire or close distance fast, that comfort can become a liability if he is not careful.
