ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Building off the previous model, the Scurrg H-9 has even more offensive capabilities to destroy enemy targets with. Boasting several of the latest weapon designs from the company, on top of an additional bomb chute, expanded missile capacity, and a new energy bomb generator, the Scurrg H-9 is set to definitely make its name as one of the heaviest hitting bombers available on the market.
  • Designed with survivability in mind, and continuing from the H-8, the Scurrg H-9 has a double-layered shielding system and a triple-layered armor hull to make sure that can reach its designated targets and continue on to the next one and the next one after that.
  • A vast improvement over the H-8, the Scurrg H-9 has been equipped with four Tidal Ion Engines that allow it to reach respectable speeds and maneuverability, that while not as good as a normal fighter, are certainly better than many bombers of its type on the market.
WEAKNESSES
  • If any enemy attack is able to hit right below the engines of the Scurrg H-9, it can cause a chain reaction of the ship's bomblet generator, missiles, and other ordinance for a spectacular display of pyrotechnics that beings on the surface of a planet could possibly see.
  • Utilizing the versatility of its weapon systems can result in a few issues such as overheating with the Leamonde Laser Cannons and charge times with the Undin Ion Cannons when switching between their firing modes too quickly.
  • Like its predecessors, Scurrg H-9 Heavy Bombers are very expensive to build and arm, resulting in reduced squadron sizes.
  • If the Tidal Ion Engines are tampered with as they are very precise, they become a quickly ticking time bomb for anyone flying the craft.
DESCRIPTION

As part of the continuing Phase III modernization program at Aurora Industries, the design team responsible for the Scurrg H-8 Heavy Bomber began work developing the next-generation version, the Scurrg H-9 Heavy Bomber. Keeping the same frame and hull design, but slightly enlarging it to make room for more systems, the team began installing even more weapon systems than even the H-8 had. New weapons developed by the company such as the Leamonde Laser Cannon and the Undin Ion Cannon were integrated, the missile capacity for each launcher was expanded and made more variable for greater tactical flexibility, an additional bomb chute was added in, and then a new energy bomb bomblet generator was installed.

The design team made the decision, while considering the defensive capabilities of the new bomber, to replace the neutronium enhanced alusteel plating from the previous ship with durasteel also enhanced with neutronium while a desh-terenthium alloy was included for the ship's skeletal frame. Trilamnium was added as another layer to the H-9's hull plating to give it even more resistance to enemy fire and to top it all off, a double-layered deflector shield system was installed. Protective countermeasures from the other Phase III starfighters were included in the design as well, with the design team especially making sure it would help protect the weak spot below the H-9's ion engines where the ship's ordinance was stored.

Four Tidal Ion Engines replaced the old engine system, allowing the ship, even with its heavier profile and munitions, to have a decent amount of speed and maneuverability which was a vast improvement over the H-8's sluggishness. All in all, the team was pleased with the design upgrades to their bomber and began a limited production run of the bombers considering their costs and the amount of munitions they needed to arm each one.
