SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Has a high durability and tensile strength, useful for protecting against laser and kinetic weaponry
  • Easy to smelt into different shapes
Strengths:
  • Durable - Due to the combination of materials used in its creation, it has a high resistance against both laser and kinetic weaponry
  • Malleable - The material is able to be shaped easily into different shapes during the smelting process
  • Lightweight - Due to the addition of aluminium in the mixture, the material is quite light.
Weaknesses:
  • Freezing - If the material is subjected to extreme colds, such as a carbonite or cryoban weapon for example, it becomes incredibly brittle, able to break apart at the lightest touch.
  • No corrosion please - If subjected to a corrosive substance, the material will immediately disintegrate as though it were nothing more than paper.
  • Quiet please - If subjected to a sonic weapon, the material will flake and shatter incredibly fast.
DESCRIPTION

With the revamp of Aurora Industries starship and technology lines underway, and the odd reminder that they actually had a product using matrix armor, it was decided by Taeli and her engineers a new metal alloy was needed for the company to use. Settling upon a combination of trimantium, aluminium, and laminasteel, the engineers in Aurora created what they called Trilamnium.

The material is designed to have a high durability and textile strength against laser weaponry and kinetic weaponry, while also being easy to shape into different forms during the smelting process. The only other stipulation Taeli had asked for was it to be lightweight so it would not compromise future products, and the engineers were able to achieve that goal.

However, the new alloy does suffer when subjected to corrosive materials, extreme cold, and sonic weaponry.
