SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Leamonde Laser Cannon has two different firing modes, depending on which gas canister that gunner has active.
    • When using the Tibanna Gas Canister, the Leamonde fires standard laser cannon bolts, if not a bit stronger because of the tibanna gas charge
    • When using the Sianteria Gas Canister, the Leamonde fires something similar to a plasma projectile, much stronger than a standard bolt and able to melt hull plating it comes in contact with.
  • The Leamonde Laser Cannon can be configured as a single cannon or into various turret configurations depending on the ship design.
STRENGTHS
  • Leamonde laser cannons are designed around two different types of gas canisters that pilots and gunnery crews can switch between at will with the press of a button to allow it more versatility when in an engagement.
  • An internal Ramuh Power Core allows the Leamonde to be independent of a ship's reactor core, allowing gunnery crews or fighter pilots to fire the weapons even if the main reactors are sabotaged or disabled.
WEAKNESSES
  • While the Sianteria Gas setting creates a more unique projectile weapon, it does reduce the range of the cannon while active. Both settings do have a higher recoil because of the increased stopping power output of the cannon.
  • While gunnery crews and pilots can switch between the two canisters with the press of a button, doing so too often can overheat the weapon systems and force them into an emergency cooldown failsafe for several minutes.
DESCRIPTION

The first weapon designed for Aurora Industries' Project Entite, the modernization of their weapon systems, the Leamonde Laser Cannon was designed with versatility in mind while maintaining increased stopping power. Aurora engineers decided to make use of standard spin-sealed tibanna gas canisters, as was standard for laser cannons, but they also decided to incorporate Aurora's Sianteria technology.

A Sianteria Gas Canister was installed alongside the tibanna, with the pilot of a starfighter or the gunnery crew on a larger ship being able to switch between which canister the weapon was drawing upon at the touch of a button. The engineers were very excited about the testing of the Sianteria gas form, and weren't disappointed as the projectile the weapon fired acted more like a plasma round from a Yaret-Kor than a standard laser blast due to the energizing . They also had to quickly figure out how to stop the wall from melting from the projectile.

The team was then instructed to make sure that the system could be configured into dual, quad, and octuple turrets, as the need arose for the company, while also still keeping it ready for use as a weapon on their starfighters.
