- Shield Bypass: A very rare and expensive quality, making the drop pods inbaluable as they can for several moments create a small hole to pass through.
- Built in power source: Designed with its own internal power source that is long lasting but it is largely able to power the armor and systems of the vehicle but when damaged it is highly explosive.
- Gravity: The advanced thrusters of the vehicle require gravity to function at full efficiency. Without it there can't counter gravity to get speed or thrust for the high speed movement.
- Field Disruptor: WHile it is able to bytpass shields it leave the pod more vulnerable as the shielding system is replaced and the shielding has to recharge when switching over.
- Self Repairing: Built with a protective layer to patch the vehicle in the event of damage. The time table is dependent upon the amount of damage with smaller tears being easier and faster to repair then gashes which can take hours to reform.
- Note: Only the layer can repair not the full plate armor itself the plating can be damaged still but the underlayer of Laminanium can reform and remain.
Made by Saotome for special engagements where the need to bypass and get a small team through a shield is important. The drop pods are made just like the standard base model pods that Saotome has created. Everything there but with an added secondary system that is a built in field disruptor. A means to bypass shields that it can pass through for a small handful of seconds. To do this the disruptor takes the power from the shield and leaves the pod vulnerable to countermeasures that can lock on to and target it.
Projecting and making a small hole that it can pass through instead of disabling the ship. Due to the rarity of the disruptors and even companies that specialize in it there are only a handful of pods that have been created. In all regards compared to some of the other models they had made or planned to make. Overall the drop pod aside from the greater risk that comes with deactivating its shield and traveling at high speeds towards a planet.
With improvements to Chai La and Sasori in their materials and equipment as the companies settled into the galaxy. The drop pods were vastly overhauyled and improved upon. State of the art weapons, shields, internal systems and what would essentially serve to function and make the drop pods a desirable pod to use. THey worked to base it off of the ancient basilisk model that was more a ship then a droid you rode into battle... the drop pod design then used the tora design from the Atrisian Empire under Akio and a field disruptor to bypass shielding systems. They worked on many other aspects of it but the limited use for a drop pod would make the field disruptor easier to install and use.
