They have developed the system to be more modular so that the sensors can be swapped out or replaced quickly. They have developed a few of them to be more essential in different ships but the processing power of the computer that is being used on the ships now allow each of the sensors to be used in a starfighter outright developing its capabilities and pushing them to be superior.
