Oh, Hoylin | CIS Dominion of Hoylin [Hex X-39]

No-SKip-Hoy.gif
Oh, Hoylin.

This seemingly picturesque world has been through a lot in the less recent past. At a distance, at a glance, it seems perfect. Located in the Mid-Rim, the Fei Hu Sector, and close to the Gamor Run trade route—It should be an idyllic place to visit. There are lavender-blue skies often dotted with puffy clouds. The shade of it seems to shift, every so often, with peculiar patterns to tease the eye. Some say that the oddities are due to gravitational disturbances due to other celestial bodies that are nearby, while others, fall into a sense of mysticism. They believe that within the patterns there is a chance for divination, most akin, to reading tea leaves.

There is a small native population in which occupies the Northern Hemisphere. They are pleasant, polite, and on par with the rest of the galaxy when it comes to technology. They seem to have the means to grow and create industrial metropolis but they choose not to. They live simple, clean lives, and focus on spiritual growth and family ties. The Southern Hemisphere is a land in which the Hoylin people do not travel.

“Everything the light touches is our home.”
“What about that shadowy place?”
“That is beyond our borders. You must never go there.”

It is the same sky, however, the land seems to be poisoned. The color has been washed away. Birds do not sing. Animals that come from these lands are twisted, misshapen, and often tend to snap at anything they see. They will attack and attempt to devour not only the Hoylin people but they will also devour each other. Explorers, scientists, and those that venture into the Nothing do not often return.

Generally, if they do, they come back wrong.

Elbright.png
[Elbright City]

Hoylin has reached out to the Confederacy, in light of recent Galatic Events, and their own internal struggles with the Nothing. In exchange for protection and security, they have offered the tranquil rural City of Elbright to the CIS as a place for respite and training. The Order of the Sacred Lotus that lay within the borders of the Droid Nation had held significant sway. The plague that had become the Nothing had once been localized. During that time, OSL had tried to quarantine, and or cure it. Unfortunately, it seemed those efforts were unsuccessful, however, the Hoylin people respect the Order of the Sacred Lotus and are thankful that they tried. Since that time the affliction has spread to become the Nothing that it is today.

The Confederacy, as always, is open to taking in new member worlds. They have arranged a getaway for members of the Confederacy that wish to get to know each other a little better, or, who are simply interested in adventure. Here you will find notable figures of the CIS offering sessions with members of all sections of the Confederacy. From Viceroys to Knights, and even, some offerings of smuggling options through the Gamor Run.

Objective One: Camp Star Lake WorkShops – [Elbright City]
WorkShop.gif

We run. We jump. We fight and play. We learn to pilot ships.
But the things that last forever...Are the droids memory chips!
Oh, Dear Confederacy, we hold you in our hearts.
And when we think about you we hope you come apart!
It's 'I hope we never part'. Now get it right or pay the price.
Now we will share a lifetime of the fondest injuries.
By the lakes on Hoylin... Practicing among the old pine trees.
Oh, Dear Confederacy, we'll never come apart.
And when we think about you? You're always in our heart!
Cabins2.png

Instead of offering arts, crafts, and canoeing you will find members of the Confederacy offering workshops in their particular specialties. Some of them are as follows, however, this is not a complete list as YOU may add your character as a “Camp Counselor” for the day. Especially if you have a skill or a story you would like to share. Objective Two: Camp Star Lake – Elbright City – [Camp Social]

So often, many of us barely have the time to talk, to get to know one another, and it’s a downright shame. Take advantage of the relaxed atmosphere of Elbright and feel free to strike up a discussion with someone new. There will be blue ice cream, of course, and treats for days. From Namana Candy to Sparklemint Sticks to all the fixings for S’mores—There’s nothing to miss. Swim, enjoy the efforts of [member="Gerwald Lechner"] on BBQ Duty, or enjoy the nice packed lunch from [member="Alessandra Creed"].

If you’re careful, you might even spot a mermaid! [[member="Damsy Callat"]]
Objective Three: Southern Hemisphere – The Nothing – [Scientific and Healing Exploration]
The-Nothing.gif

Something ails this wonderful planet. Once, the Order of the Sacred Lotus attempted to cure the pathogen that changed the land, and turned the creatures hostile, but to no avail. The Hoylin have welcomed them back, thankful, that the group of Light Sided healers would try at all. Most think of them as a backwater world and wouldn’t waste the effort. Succeed or fail—The Hoylin are grateful for the effort expended to cease their woes.

boom123.png

The Exploration will be led by [member="Tellu Talon"], speaking for the Order of the Sacred Lotus, and the Offices of the Minister of Science will also be involved. The Minister of Science herself, [member="Rashae"] Lovous, has a mind for such things and it is rumored that the very busy doctor may make an appearance. If for some reason her tasks call her elsewhere the best minds within the Confederacy, such as [member="Asher Malvern"], and [member="Rhaina Tira"], will also be present to provide their assistance.

Feel free to join this effort. You never know what terrifying creatures, animal, or otherwise you may face. Be warned. When the pathogen first appeared those afflicted had an insatiable craving for flesh. Due to the fact that Northern Hoylin is virtually untouched, it is believed, that the sickness is localized. It is not airborne.
Objective Four: Hoylin[BYOO]
BYOO.gif
As always, we like to leave things open, and fresh for writers that have ideas that don’t fit in the box. Essentially, this is Summer Camp, with a potentially spooky twist. You could write about a Haunted Cabin. A mysterious, bloodthirsty, masked stranger that for some reason no matter how slowly he walks he always he always catches up to you. Smugglers, be aware, that the Hoylin have an unhealthy love of Meiloorun Fruit and are willing to pay top price to get it. There could be some easy credits coming your way.

Overall, you do you, and have fun while you’re at it!!

Tellu watched the landscape unfold before her and what had once been a beautiful city had turned to dust. A ghost of its former self, where once durasteel wore proudly was now empty. Rebars turned in directions that seemed indicative of the terrors that were faced here. Skeletal remains littered the streets and the smell of decayed flesh would be rampant once the ramp was lowered and they were allowed to disembark. The pilot informed them they would be landing some distance away from the Nothing, the Scar that was left behind from the Sacred Lotus's previous attempt to heal this world. They could not fail again, they would not fail again she corrected her thoughts on the matter. They needed to show that they were once more capable of helping the galaxy, she turned to one of the Order's most recently returned member. She asked, "were you here when the Order arrived last? I've had Nylea pull information from the archives but I'd like a first-hand account if you have any."

If not then they would use whatever information Nylea had brought with her. "We're to meet with Minister Lovous at the new quarantine site, would be best to prepare our documents," Tellu said half turned toward the younger Echani. Tellu shifted her position and waited as the pilot landed in the new safe zone. The prefabricated buildings were decorated in the Confederacy's logo, droids had already begun to set up medical facilities which would be used to help research what the pathogen had wrought. "Gear up we'll have to ensure proper measures before disembarking." Tellu motioned to the quarantine gear and began to assemble it for herself. The hope would be that this was rather unnecessary but she knew better, diseases changed so even if this particular strain was gone now a new one may lurk just around the corner. After all here they were, introducing new bacteria to the area Force only knew what could come of their return.

A small yet audible thud followed the pilot's call to his passengers let them know that they had arrived and as the landing ramp was lowered, there it was. The decay of the city or town whatever was once here - gone now, and the only thing that remained was the nothing that ensued.

By the lakes of Hoylin, Madalena Antares was standing, wearing very short khaki shorts that left her legs bare. Perhaps bare was an overstatement, as she did not give up being armored to the teeth as usual, only now the straps that went around and down her legs to hold over a dozen knives were in full view. The woman certainly didn't seem to mind, as a pleasant smile was plastered all over her face.

She had not expected to be out here today, expected to teach young ones something. Of course, she didn't mind. Madalena was great with children, and she was awesome at explaining and teachings things as well.

While waiting for potential pupils to show up before she found a sarlaac to shove them into, the curvaceous woman sat herself down on a rock, and began to sharpen her knives.

The Sith lord pulled tightly, binding his hair into a neat ponytail for the time being. In reality it would have been more practical for the man to cut off the excess hair that hung over his shoulders, especially considering there was a single grey streak running along the side of his head, only a few inches from his temple. If the Exarch believed he would not look ridiculous with short hair he may have actually considered it. Adron stood in the center of a medium sized dueling ring. It was not much more than a wooden circle carved into the center of the dojo. It had a few seats for viewing and even a couple of training dummies but it was extremely minimal. It would do.

A table had been provided for the event. There was a small stack of training sabers stacked on it. The metallic cylinders held long slim rods that could easily channel a small deal of energy to form a practice blade. The blades created by these sabers were not fatal, of course they did have a hell of a bite to them. If one so much as touched your skin it would administer a nasty shock to simulate the pains of combat failure.

Adron took one of the training sabers in his hand, running his thumb over the activation pad. The dull orange blade sprang to life, giving off a faint humming sound following the brief snap-hiss that reminded him of a true lightsaber. Not a bad imitation, yet it was not the real thing. These blades were powered with power cells in place of any type of crystal so there was not the throbbing pulse of life coming from the saber. With another pass of his finger the blade died down to it's original form, the metallic rod still hot with the blaze of energy. The Exarch set the blade back down onto the table before smiling over the assortment before him. It had been a long time since Adron had showed anyone how to use a lightsaber, whether or not he admitted it he was quite looking forward to it.

The Exarch did not wear his usual attire, a fine suit with his most eccentric of walking canes. No today he wore a tunic which was a deep shade of crimson and clad over a pair of tan trousers. They were garb that were fitting of an Echani battlemaster, yet the back of the tunic held a white Confederate crest. Adron pulled on a crimson cloak, glancing at himself in one of the mirrors and feeling a sense of nostalgia. The last time he had worn robes like this was in service to the Galactic Empire, as the Lord-Commander of the Imperial Guard. Perhaps it had been what was comfortable or maybe it was done to show the former Imperial still respected what he had learned in the Empire, regardless he wore the garb with as much pride as he had the last time he pulled it on.

Adron crossed the training dojo to find his counter-part [member="Srina Talon"] preparing for the instruction she would be giving today as well. "It's no wonder [member="Darth Metus"] chose you to lead the hand-to-hand instruction." The Exarch made a subtle movement of his shoulders which rolled into a gesture of his hand towards the Echani. It was rustic and perhaps sloppy in the eyes of the woman, yet it was a gesture she would recognize as one offered in respect to her own talents. "I wish you could have met my Instructor. He was not born on Eshan but he was a skilled Echani warrior. Probably one of the best I've ever seen, even when he got older." Adron was conscious not to cross his arms over his chest around Srina, it was a gesture that often got him in trouble in training because his instructor often scolded, "A warrior who closes his arms closes his mind to the words spoken to him." His mind was never closed to his partner, even in the most trying of times she would not hide anything from her. There was never anything to hide. The thought caused him to bite the inside of his cheek as he considered his next words for a moment. In the end he decided not to speak them and instead glanced over to the door of the dojo. "We should be starting soon."

"You have to follow your own path."

There was a cold chill that ran up Asher's spine as he walked around the quarantine zone. Upon their occupation The Confederacy had taken certain measures to keep this pathogen as contained as possible. They had undergone a number of tests to try and decipher the nature of this...sickness. However, in the end all their remote testing had led them to was the conclusion that this pathogen was not airborne. While Asher was a scientific mind and often brought in to consult as a member of the Ministry of Science, this was simply not his field. In fact, the only reason he was here was to try and help deduce if this plague could somehow be the work of some technology or man made machine.

Thus far it seemed the pathogen was spreading from one being to another and at an alarming rate, however there was still little more information passed that. The Scientist glanced over at the gate that led into the quarantine zone. He had considered traveling into the unknown lands alone, but quickly reversed his decision. The beasts within were of ravenous appetite and he had no intention of becoming their next snack. Though his abilities in The Force had kept him out of such danger in the past he tried his hardest not to draw attention to his use of the Force. That was what led to the small blaster strapped to his waist underneath his labcoat.

At the end of the day Asher made weapons and was extremely talented at it. This was merely out of his league. Of course there were some who could easily handle this. Warriors like [member="Darth Tacitus"] and [member="Tellu Talon"]. The two had been brought in to help combat this plague and hopefully their combined skills could at least keep the science team safe while they pursued this disaster. Asher turned from the main gate and made his way over to a nearby landing clearing. It was small but would easily fit a few shuttles and perhaps a squadron of small fighters. There had been a few other scientists to gather, most preparing for the next trip into The Nothing. Asher greeted the men with a half-wave as he waited silently along with them.

The Confederacy, in conjunction with the remnants of the Order of the Sacred Lotus, were conducting a large-scale operation to ascertain the cause of the plague that beset the Southern hemisphere of the planet and to free Hoylin from this affliction. But there were many individual fates of small people intertwined with these events that their expedition could pay no mind to, nor should it - their aims were greater, but Amilthi had little to contribute to their pursuit.

She had, however, heard more than one lamentation from colleagues and family of the last native scientific expedition that had ventured beyond familiar lands, and even spoken to one of the survivors. That he now recoiled at the sight of meat, as she had been told, and required a strictly vegetarian diet was the least of the changes he had undergone. His mind was in shambles, he had lost the ability to function normally in life and required the constant care and support of his family. And even then, in a safe home by any standards, he refused or was unable to discuss his experiences in clear terms, saying only that they had been 'consumed'. Amilthi was neither able to read his mind or to put him sufficiently at easy to tease out more information, but she had been told the course the expedition had taken a good half-year ago, and since she was already here, she was happy to have a less frivolous endeavour to engage in than the Confederacy's leadership, however small its impact might possibly remain.

    Hoylin, near the Nothing

Hoylin's plight had not fallen on deaf ears. The Mid Rim world's arduous battle against the spreading anomaly the planet's natives had dubbed "The Nothing" had, over the years, attracted more than a few groups who offered their help either out of an altruistic desire to heal the planet, or for ulterior motives of their own, but none have succeeded so far.

Things were about to change, however, now that the Confederacy of Independent Systems was here. The southern superpower's vast resources and wealth of scientific and esoteric knowledge far exceeded what any of the previous organizations could muster.

The ruler of the Confederate fortressworld of Nelvaan was not entirely unsympathetic to the plight of the Hoylinians, however Darth Tacitus was not a man known to be ruled by pathetic sentimentality and naive altruism. He was, above all, a practical man, driven by beliefs and ambitions far grander than the galaxy suspected. Everything he did, every action he made, was a carefully calculated decision, another piece in the greater scheme of his agenda.

Throughout the years, it had not been his martial prowess, or his considerable strength in the Force that had carried him through every obstacle and led him to where he was today. His most powerful and dangerous quality, was the vast intellect that hid behind his gold-hued, feline eyes. Where others saw tragedy, he saw opportunity. This had always been the case with the enigmatic Sith Lord and Hoylin was no different.

His experience had taught him to look beyond initial appearances and into the bigger picture beyond. Thus, he did not believe that this anomaly and the accompanying 'pathogen' were a natural occurrence. He had his suspicions, which is why in addition to the scientists, he also brought along one of his more reclusive followers, a Sorcerer and Alchemist from the much-feared Nelvaanian Darkside cadre known as the Devil's Claws. Of course, he had his own vast stores of knowledge to draw upon, as sorcery and necromancy were amongst his specialties, but alchemy was not a field he was an expert in.

When he first read the report on Hoylin's situation, he could not help but smirk. The Order of the Sacred Lotus, that reclusive Jedi sect which had its headquarters on Monastery, had already set up an encampment here and they were going to try to heal whatever affliction had befallen the Mid Rim planet. They had been here before and failed to achieve their objectives, but this time they had the assistance of the Confederacy. Even so, Tacitus did not put much stock in their ability to properly evaluate the situation for all of its... tactical possibilities. Their narrow-minded Jedi beliefs would see them focus solely on the healing of the world and that, simply, would not do.

Tacitus had other plans for whatever was the source of this anomaly. Oh, he would help rid the planet of its problem, but he also did not intend to see whatever caused it, destroyed. Rather, he would seek to harness its power and forge it into a weapon that could be unleashed against the enemies of the Confederacy. So he intended to conduct his own operation.

"Blue Flight, this is Red Leader," he radioed the second, smaller group of shuttles racing several hundred meters ahead of his task force. "Proceed with recon mission. Red Flight will temporarily stop at QZ base to pick up additional personnel."

"Roger that, Red Leader," came the crisp response from the officer in charge of the two shuttles comprising task force Echo Blue. "Proceeding with recon. Over and out."

The first two Styx-class dropships, state of the art strike craft only recently commissioned by the Nelvaanian military, approached the recently set-up quarantine site at full speed, flying low to the ground and showing no signs of slowing down. Indeed, with a deafening roar of their engines, as if screaming their defiant disdain at the Jedi below, they simply passed over the encampment and continued on towards the Nothing at full throttle. The Jedi detatchment below them had not, of course, been informed of their flyby. Tacitus hadn't deemed it necessary.

A second flight consisting of four dropships approached the camp not long after the first had so rudely flown past it, this time indeed slowing down and approaching on a vector which indicated that they would land. This was Tacitus' second task force, Echo Red.

Taking turns to set down on the ground, Echo Red's first two shuttles gently lowered themselves onto the improvised landing pads, while the other two slowly circled above to provide cover in case any of the creatures from the QZ decided to attack during the delicate moment of landing. Tacitus was not willing to take risks, here. He had been on Haven, where his close friendship with [member="Srina Talon"] had been forged. Having faced the horror that was Babel, he knew all too well not to underestimate the danger that such anomalies presented.

Eventually, the remaining two shuttles finally landed as well, just as troops were beginning to unload supplies from the first ones. Tacitus was already on the ground, accompanied by five of his Wolfguards and the terrifying sorcerer he had brought along. "Who's in charge, here?" his voice thundered over the dying roar of the dropship's engines.

Eddlo had just finished getting some confederate swag from [member=Alessandra Creed], with it he got his own little packed lunch and a cool new T shirt with the confederate logo. However, the shirt itself was far, far to small for him. He was quite stretched and only covered down past his chest. However, the hulking individual that was Eddlo didn't seem to care. However, the voice in his head had something to say about it. They always had something to say about everything. "Now I'm not trying to rain on your parade here, but you should probably see if there's something else for you to wear. Aren't you afraid they might pick on you? You already look like some classic horror movie villain here to stomp out the fun young adults might have from there premarital relationships."

After saying it like that they'd certainly gotten Eddlo's attention. He tried to think up a response, but how of shame he began to remove the small shirt from his torso. Having a hard time given how tight it was on his body. He could've easily just have ripped if off but he seemed to wanna take good care of it.

With his confederate swag bag he continued his trek through the woods until he came across a little map that had a red arrow pointed at a spot saying 'you are here'. It listed off the locations on today's events which he began to read off. "Hmm, you know as well as I that you're a good fighter. An undisputed champion from where you're from. Perhaps one of the combat training ones would be a good fit for you. Let's see here, you don't own a lightsaber, hand to hand might be good. You know what, you should decide." His inner voice said to him.

Then Eddlo lifted one of his large arms and pointed at one of them "What about Atrisian Style Cooking and Tea Making?" Eddlo asked out loud. Which it didn't seem like his "double man" was gonna argue over it. After all they did say that he should decide what he wanted to do, and not just dictate it. However, Eddlo could sense that they were a little taken back that they'd wanna cook instead of something more combative. Nonetheless Eddlo would begin to move on over to where the lesson was being taught.

“Today, you've got a decision to make. You're gonna get better or you're gonna get worse, but you're not gonna stay the same.” The words from a mentor of the commander rang through her mind on a daily basis, pushing her to learn new skills that could be used to better herself and the soldiers that fought beside her in the Dauntless legion. But there was nothing saying that you couldn’t have fun with others while learning something new.

That’s what drew the redhead commander to the campsite on Hoylin, where the weekend was supposed to be spent learning from some of the most skilled persons in their areas, including cooking, gadgets, leadership classes, and much more. This morning, however, Luna needed something to get her mind and body warm before attending any classes that required her to think much. Hand to hand combat with the Exarch Talen was an opportunity way too good to pass up.

The hand to hand combat area looked much to what Luna expected it to be. A circle of sandbags with little else outside of a few crates of supplies off to the side. Her green eyes searched for the silver haired teacher of the class, grinning wide when they settled on her. Boots crunching lightly against the sand, she approached Srina with a soft grin.

The commander of the Dauntless Legion continued to give her a soft grin to Exarch, saluting proper to her before relaxing her stance. “It was said that you would be teaching some hand to hand combat here today, Exarch Talen. I’d enjoy the chance to train with you.”

Location Hoylin, Southern Continent, The Nothing, Quarantine Zone base camp
Orders Primary: Security of the Confederate research team; Secondary: Quick reaction force stand-by; Tertiary: Securing the source of the plague
Part of Eternal Empire´s Research Expedition, 82nd Ultranaut Attachment

Unit designation Grimus-8-2, 82nd Ultranaut Regiment
Unit strength three companies of Ultranauts; assault-shuttle attachment

qE3JYeS.gif
One does not simply land in a quarantine zone with only six shuttles of troops. One does not simply do that, not even on a seemingly peaceful world which has a plagued continent, plagued by some ravenous infection. The 82nd Regiment was part of the Eternal Empire´s expedition force which was led here by the Eternal Emperor himself. Or rather, a portion of the regiment. The 82nd was divided after the battle of Copero and partly sent back to their reserve training on Nelvaan. Except for three companies. By personal request of the Eternal Emperor, Colonel Halbrecht leads his troops into an operation.

He was sitting in once of the seats of the Styx-class, his command unit with him. The rest of the regiment followed with two Sigma-classes, three companies with considerable fortification equipment and pre-fab buildings. The shuttles deployed several moments after Darth Tacitus touched the ground, the Sigma-classes landing outside the research camp.

The orders were clear, the protocol was obvious. This was a quarantine zone and this was a military operation for Halbrecht. He was no scientist and would had no interest in what these Lotus-fellowship were doing here. There was the need for a secured base of operations and that was todays task. Establishing a perimeter defence and security measures as well as making a QRF ready.
The unit got the order to keep their sealed suits on at every moment until another order would be given.

The three companies of the regiment spread out, while some platoons were spreading out to patrol the area and give geo-tactical feedback, the remaining unit started to raise a fort. Squads with shovels were starting to dig trenches, bulldozers flattened the ground and several officers were marking the locations for the buildings. It was a classical, simple fortification, trenches, earthworks and pre-fab buildings and bunkers. It would take half a day to raise a standard pattern fort like that for this unit strength.

Colonel Halbrecht was walking up to his overlord while his men were performing their orders. There was no clearance by the Lotus or Science apartment of the Confederacy for this defence measures, but Halbrecht was not very interested. They are seeking to eliminate this threat, not to explore, research and use it for their advantage. Arriving next to the Eternal Emperor when he asked his question, he was for the first time thise close to the man. It was a strangely satisfying feeling - to be chosen, supported and recognised like this.

His heels were clicking loudly, while he salutated with a straightened back. "Sire. We are establishing a defence perimeter for the base camp. A QRF is ready and we will further fortify this location."

Gerwald had no idea why he agreed to teach a workshop on tracking, hunting, and grilling, but he had. The only thing to do was hope and wait that someone, or several people, wanted to take his class. The Lupine came natural to it, and he hoped that he could teach in away that would make sense for those who did not have his own unique genetic capabilities to aid them. How was he going to do that? He had no idea. All he knew was that for now, his class, which was located outdoors, was currently empty. As soon as the campers arrived though, he was going to have to get to work.

Kurenai had bee surprised by the fact most of today activities would take place in and around a Dojo, such was rather convenient due to the lessons she would be teaching today's, that and the fighting school being conducted in the same place. She had shown interest in being one of said instructors but Metus and the other higher ups saw it more fit to put Srina and Adron in charge to the two different classes. To an extent it made sense, the Exrach was a Echani, most considered them to be the best hand to hand fighters in the galaxy full stop, while Adron was an accomplished warrior with quite a bit of fame running before him.

Regardless the women had made it known that she was around to help, but upon seeing where the camp would be organized had asked the Viclord and others if it was possible to run her own class. To no real surprised the Atrisan women had opted to teach those attending some basic dishes from her home planet along with tea making and the ceremony that came with it. Such could serve as a little side activity to do in between combat training, have a little snack and refreshments to rejuvenate ones body.

As such while Srina and Adron prepared weapons and the area for the fighting to take place Kurenai was off to the side, setting up a small grill like contraption along with boxes of different ingredients use in the dish called Okonomiyaki. On her other side, on the bamboo floor sat a range of strange looking wooden utensils and bowls, such being items used for traditional tea making.

No sooner had things been set up did students start arriving, strangely enough the first arrival seemed interested in her class then anything else, actually getting somewhat surprised reaction form the mature women. The, what she assumed to be a man, was certainly a odd fellow, their over all appearance looking like something from a old holo horror movie, not exactly the person one would expect to be into cooking. Then again she was a non stereotypical conforming vampire, soo not a whole lot she could say in this situation.

As the individual drew closer Kurenai gave a short bow, "greetings, I assume you are here for the cooking lessons and tea making"?

Around a camp fire, on the planet, stood over two dozen armored Mandalorians. Helmets were off, drinks in hand. At their head, was a much smaller one, the dark skinned Allya, the ne'tra gal raised high in her hand. In the others, ne'tra gal, and kri'gee was held. Their voices were loud, over the crackling of the fire, heard by any in the area.

Then the chant was done, the metallic goblets were clashed together, and drunk, to the sound of infectious laughter, boisterous talk, boasts, and challenges were made. Some of the men wrestling around, trying to back up their claims, only to be beaten by their ladies. Allya was never more at home than she was now. Dark side and all, she had proven she was one of them. Maybe not from the same clan, but at least from the same people. It was a relaxing thing, and she enjoyed the companionship, and the alcohol. However, her mind wasn't honestly here, it was elsewhere in the galaxy at the moment, on another being.

However, this was her heart, try as much as she denied it, she was a Mandalorian. This was what she was. Sith this, CIS that, but, it was this, it was this that defined her. Slowly, she relaxed into it, sipping her ale, and watching the fire, as she joined in another chat.

Eyes closed at the end, and she tilted her head up to the sky. Fist raised clenched up for a moment, before she laughed along with the others, and her eyes opened. She wondered what her father was doing. She knew he was near, his presence always comforted her, and filled her with a safe feeling when he was in the area. Mind then continued to wander, over Jerek....such a cute boy...and then settled on Chika. Oh yeah, she was supposed to meet her soon. The girl wondered if she should head over there or not yet.
Oh, and of course, she still had to teach that workshop thing her father and Srini had signed her up for....I mean, she could do it, but what type of teenager wanted to be stuck running a camp to teach people twice her age? But still, duty, honor and all that....Still, it wouldn't hurt to just, relax a bit first...a couple more drinks.

Objective: Meet with Ally
Post: 1

A summer camp full of activities for members of the CIS to join in and have fun, it was certainly a new look at things, a little childish but fun. Not that was a problem, to most the princess was still considered a child, having yet to reach the ripe age of 20 when most people were declared a full adult, that and her more or less light hearted attitude probably made people think she as younger.

Today she would be meeting once again with [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"], the younger women having invited Chikako out to the little camping event for some fun and games or just to gawk at how pretty she was... apparently. As of now the Echani high born strolled through the grassy ground, her more causal like dress brushing against said green carpet with each step, a wide brimmed hat keeping the tropical like sun away from her eyes.

Also for once there was no looming body guard constantly watching over the princess as she walked, having come to the planet privately to enjoy the ativities without all the high class edict. Only problem was were to find the girl, herself having expected to see her at the main camp grounds were the other teacher were, but it was soon discovered that Ally was nowhere to be seen, quite strange. "Well that is why we traded holo numbers, I am sure she will call me to get my location". If only she had stuck around to get the Mando's contact information, it would make this waiting game much shorter.

Hoylin was unique.

She would not be one to stop and stare at every flower, and every rolling wave of crystalline water, but Srina could not deny that which was blatantly obvious. Elbright City was a beacon. Something about it made her want to stop, relax, and breathe. There was no need to run. No need to move from battle to battle, simply because, war would always exist. It would always be there waiting in the dark.

Peace? Peace was different. Fragile, fleeting, and often a lie.

She would accept this moment of tranquility for what it was. The slender creature moved through the expansive dojo with ease. The wooden floor beneath her bare feet felt natural. The Exarch had set up a few barrels full of water bottles for anyone that chose to stop by, though, most of all she was looking forward to the small chance of reflection. She was slated to share the space with [member="Adron Malvern"].

Srina didn’t mind. Her fellow Exarch was welcome to breach her personal space as he pleased, let alone, having a whole dojo to peruse. That didn’t mean she wouldn’t put him through his paces.

“Metus chose me to teach in an area of which he lacks.”

It was a fact. Srina, her first time holding a lightsaber, had put her Master on the ropes before he used a little Sith Magic to restrain her. Mirrored eyes flickered as her gaze fell to the former Imperial with a silent sort of amusement. He seemed to be enjoying the fresh air as well. The diminutive creature was dressed plainly in form-fitting material. Black pants hid toned legs and her torso was wrapped in something she would have at home, a simple white cropped airtex top with cutouts. “Good morning.”, she greeted Adron, reaching out softly to touch his arm. She leaned close, briefly, before withdrawing.

“I would have liked to fight your instructor. I respect how you hold a sword.”

Respect from the rather dull, lifeless creature, this was high praise. She remained near Adron, orbiting around him for a moment, before she drew toward the middle of the area. The much taller man mentioned that they ought to get started and the Echani felt a ghostly smile spread over her lips. The prospect of combat, rather, the notion of working physically with others placed her at ease.

“Stay on your side of dojo. I do not wish to hurt you, Adron.”

Whether or not she was serious would be difficult to tell. Regardless, a few curious Obsidian Knights entered not long later. One filtered over to Adron while the other decided to speak to Srina regarding technique. “Your stance is too wide. Unbalanced. It leaves you vulnerable.”

One of her first corrections, typically, was incorrect positioning. She had no problem with nudging someone’s foot where she wanted it to be until they got the hang of it.

Across the sands outside, through the sunlit, beachy weather—A new voice came to join the small chorus of individuals that were slowly streaming in. Most had arrived in the wee hours, so, the barracks had been used appropriately. Mercurial eyes flickered toward the Dauntless Commander and her head tilted slowly. When the young warrior drew close enough the wintry Exarch inclined her head. “You have heard correctly. Please, come in. You may leave your footwear here.”

A true Echani. Less clothing, less armor, was always more.

Her hair was pulled back in a braided ponytail and it swung, just slightly, when she moved toward the marked combat ring. It offended her eyes to see such hardwood touched with paint, however, it was a necessity to maintain rigorous form. This instructional day was meant to teach. To learn—It wasn’t about winning or losing. No, if that was the case, neither she nor Adron would have bothered to temper themselves to make an appearance.

“Come stand with me [member="Luna Terrik"].”

Alessandra demanded many things when being dragged across the verse, against her will, to some half-infected world of opposites. Part of it was prime space for an over-priced timeshare. Other parts were disease infested and ought to be purged with fire. This was the thought that the overly comfortable, extremely confident, and supremely bored Minister of Commerce had as she opened and closed her palm. Flame flared to life. Disappeared. Flared to life, disappeared.

Sometime after the incident over Life Day, she had been assured that it was actually no more strenuous to use the Force than it was to overtax herself running a marathon at high noon in the Geonosis sun. It was a shoddy comparison, but at the end of the day, stress was stress. Be it bodily or physical. It was all about doing things in moderation.

“You can sign up for benefits on Geonosis in the Citadel. Your pay is decided by the level of mission plus the recommendations from your superior. Hazard pay becomes available when things get…”, the dark-haired female trailed off, speaking to a few new Dauntless, before she settled back in her glorified lawn chair. It was nicer than plastic, however, it wasn’t really doing anything for her back. “Interesting.”

The curvy woman was wearing a black swimsuit with a matching sarong tied neatly about her hips. Dark hair, styled perfectly, that had no intention of seeing water was left long and loose in the perfect blowout. A wide brim hat shielded smoky eyes and feathery lashes from the harsh rays of the sun whilst she passed out gift bags full of packed lunches, coupons, information, and a couple gadgets. The contact lenses were probably her favorite in the bunch. Alessandra was a fan of items that served a purpose and didn’t stick out.

It wasn’t even brunch time yet, and already, the Minister was starving. Why? The growing peanut-sized child inside her seemed to need more food in a day that she typically consumed in two. How long would she even be able to wear her usual clothing? How long until she looked like a giant shockball on stilts? The thought made her run a hand over her stomach, chastising the small hunger cramp, before almost chucking a bag of things to some kid with a sack over his head.

She gave [member="Eddlo Taphilic Hoc"] only a single set of instructions. “Follow the instructions for the comm and the contacts. Don’t poke your eyes out.”

If he even had any. Peculiar, little urchin.

The smell of something cooking not far away also was incredibly unfair. She very much so hated both [member="Kurenai Yumi"] and [member="Gerwald Lechner"] right then. Dark eyes narrowed, her arms crossed, and she leaned back in her chair to pout thoroughly. Her mind reached out for both individuals, briefly, gently with one judiciously placed command.

‘Feed me. Bring me sustenance.’

Careful hands snapped on a pair of sunglasses. Alessandra was barely hanging on, mostly, just manning the reception desk because she was the only one with the attention span to do it. All the little war mongrels certainly couldn’t be bothered to do something that required sitting still, no booze, and no weapons for a hot minute.

‘….First one of you to bring me something edible gets a bonus…’

It was probably a good thing that Eddlo had come over to one of the other workshops. Since him and his "double man" didn't think that the [member="Alessandra Creed"] women was very nice to him. His inner voice easily could've gone on an on about her. Saying things like "I can't believe she'd say that, the women probably thinks we're dumb or something, and that remark about not poking our eye out. Very classy since we only have one eye left."

However, that was figuratively and literal behind them now as Eddlo made his way to a different workshop on the camp grounds. This time as stated before he was gonna learn the culinary ways of a culture he'd never heard of before, he wasn't sure how well he'd do but he was beginning to feel eager about it.

As he got to the Dojo where was a women there ready to introduce students like himself. As the two approached each other the towering man looked down at her as she spoke. After processing her words he'd reply. "Yes..." Being told from his "double man" that such a simple reply would be considered rude he was told to repeat after him. "I...I assume you are Mrs. Yumi the teach-, I mean instructor." He replied, hoping his limited sense of vocabulary didn't worry anyone. His unkempt and shirtless appearance surely wouldn't help with that.

The flyover from [member="Darth Tacitus"]' shuttles was an unwelcomed sort, and for Tellu it felt rather obtuse. "Elisea." She called for one of the Order's members, "which way did the pathogen start?" The prefabricated blue and white buildings weren't to be the only ones, she slowly saw the advancement of a large company of soldiers. The Echani frowned and decided to keep her opinions to herself. Elisea meanwhile held out a map of the Scar, "it was here, and the creatures that had turned were further out this way but we'll need to canvas each sector here."

"Right, take a guard or two each we'll need to maintain radio contact with one another," Tellu wasted no time in gesturing to the map that Elisea presented, "Nylea, you and Elisea head out toward the old warehouses, once Raine and Perl are able to make it their assignments will be here at the old wildlife park, Zak and Tyl, once they're here, can go here into the school." Tellu would head straight for the hospital she looked over her shoulder and spotted a man, [member="Asher Malvern"]. She did not know him but presumed he had been sent here along with the Confederacy. "When Minister [member="Rashae"] arrives have her and [member=[/FONT]"Henne Bastra"] catch up with me, I'll be headed for the hospital itself."

As she spoke it was hard to ignore the sight and sounds of the company digging and working around the camp creating what she discerned to be a defensive perimeter. Tellu frowned, they already took a risk by introducing new bacteria to the area upon their own arrival. The risk of it now doubled she was sure of it, and then the man wearing what appeared to be quite the garish and gaudy outfit demanded to know who was in charge. The Echani stood proudly, "I am." Her voice directed at the man, looking between his garish looks and the rather edgy look of the militarization that had affronted her now... "I hadn't realized I would be presented with such..." She held her tongue, "military prowess." Goddess help her she wanted to vomit. The air of arrogance she felt from him wasn't exactly mute, part of her wondered if this was all for show.

"Lotus go forth, I'll deal with this." Tellu dispatched her team and gave a knowing nod toward Nylea. "If you have an interest in speaking with me, I suggest you keep up." Once more she directed her words towards the man in the garish outfit and the guards. Always guards, she wondered if he could fend for himself or if he had to rely on his guards.

Tellu wasn't going to wait around as she grabbed her gear and headed out on foot.

Objective: Locate Missing Hoylin that Disappeared in the Nothing
Tag: [member="Amilthi Camlenn"] | [member="Cassius Droma"] [Maybe? Hehe]
_______________________

The crimson-haired Jedi spun around in a full circle as she breathed the fresh air of Hoylin. It was impossible not to notice how perfect Elbright City was. The part that hadn’t been cleared for use by the Confederacy was full of life. People. Younglings. Despite the darkness that plagued their southernmost borders their spirits were high and full of light. The Nabooian woman had sent a missive to @Cassius Droma to let him know where she would be if wished to accompany her, though, she hadn’t heard anything back yet.

It was to be expected. He had his own troubles though, as always, she hoped to see him.

“Good Morning Jedi Camlenn…”, she greeted her fellow Knight with no small degree of warmth. Gianna was a sweeping ray of sunshine, no matter where she went, or who she encountered. She had met the flaxen-haired woman previously, on another mission, and had kept in contact with her every so often. The woman was intelligent, intense, and quite honestly her opposite. Gianna could befriend a rock, easily, and had no shame about it. Perhaps that was why she liked the slightly older woman. “I hope you’ve rested well. I’ve been speaking to some of the Hoylin about the Nothing…”

“There’s a lot of rumor about it. Especially, once you get past the Grey Barrens.”

gray.png

The Grey Barrens were a set of plains that almost separated parts of Elbright City fully from the Nothing. There were high permacrete walls, with entry and exit points that were watched, but otherwise whatever it was that was tainting the lower lands seemed to remain contained. It was curious. Strange.

The effect of traveling to the Nothing had on the local populace was also disturbing. Gianna would return to the home of the victim before they departed, to see if anything had changed, or if their efforts to restore his mind had any effect at all. That was troublesome. Her greatest strength lay in healing. Both physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

There was something very wrong when her administrations seemed to fail entirely.

The simply clothed female wore tan robes, with a jade sash cinching her already slender waist, and also carried a light pack of survival equipment. She had even included a spare rebreather. Gia didn’t know what they were getting into, though, it was the Jedi way to investigate.

The two women crossed the endlessly green fields of Elbright to reach the border. The conversation was easy, though, it would have taken a serious tone while they shared details they had discovered. Part of getting to the heart of a problem usually involved interacting with people that had suffered it the most. When they reached the restricted area green eyes swept over the area.

“Ready?”

Gia was. As ready as she ever would be. The Order of the Sacred Lotus and members of the Confederacy were seeking out the source of the plague on the opposite end. She had been tasked, with Amilthi, to find some of the Hoylin that had gone missing more recently. People that had never returned. Perhaps hurt, or lost.

The ever-optimistic Knight hoped for the best. Though, looking at the sky that even seemed to change color, to dim, it was not without some difficulty.
