PRELUDE
Varanins and the Outback
Ria grew up on Nar Shaddaa and has spent most of her life either as property of the Hutt Cartel or on the run from them as such. She bet Bryce Bantam upon her escape and ended up on Demonsgate for the Rebellion. From there forward, Ria's life was one adventure after the other including aiding the Underground and helping the Kathol Republic become a major presence in the galaxy as the Kathol Outback. She followed Jorus Merrill just about everywhere he went and on occasion sprung off on her own accord. Once she thought she might fall in love with Runi Verin, but that was not meant to be. No matter how many times Princess Mechanic came to save her sorry arse from whatever bounty hunter was trying to make good on the credits on her head.
The kid from Nar Shaddaa ended up making some powerful friends in
Ashin Cardé Varanin
and
Spencer Varanin
after smuggling herself aboard their personal ship. She should have died for the crime alone, and she should have died when she went toe to toe with Spencer but whether it was mercy, pity, or both, Spencer spared Ria and the kid seemed to tag along with the Varanins here and there. Unknowingly, Ria ended up having a body of hers cloned, which turned out to be a good thing. When a Sith suicide pact threatened Atrisia, the Varanins responded and Ria went along to help. It was on Atrisia that a bounty hunter had cornered her and while she was able to help bring down planetary shields, it cost the girl her life.
Utilizing Dark Essence transfer, Ria's essence was transferred into the body of an orange and white cat. She spent the next two years as the Royal Cat of Eshan known only as Mittens until it was that the Varanins remembered the clone body. Ria was then transferred back into a human form, and through Sith alchemy and spells, she retained a totem that rests a necklace in her human form and a collar when she transforms into cat form. However there is and always will be a price for such, most days Ria often forgets she can transfer back into her human form and spends most of her time as a cat thus she's scarcely aged, a side effect from the spells she's been told.
These days, Ria spends her time on Denon, sitting on the shoulder of an IG droid aiding Darkwire agents and terrorizing CorpSec when she can.
