ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Abomination: When confronted with a ship like the Collateral Star, most enemies may not understand exactly what they are facing, giving the ship a temporary element of surprise.
  • Miraculous: The fact the Collateral Star is even able to move at all is something of a small miracle.
  • Heavy armament: The Collateral Star is armed with a wide array of different weapons, such as turbolasers, ion cannons, missile launchers and tractor beam projectors.
  • Heavy armor: The Collateral Star is heavily armored, making it difficult to fully destroy in battle.
  • Compartmentalized: Due to the unique nature of the Collateral Star, much of the ship is heavily compartmentalized. This means that should certain parts of the ship fail, other parts will not be affected.
  • Fighter support: The Collateral Star holds an absurd number of starfighters and support craft, totaling 50 squadrons in all.
  • Core Ship computer: To help keep the Collateral Star up and running, the vessel utilizes a modified Core Ship computer.
  • No obvious bridge: Targeting the bridge of the Collateral Star is difficult due to their being multiple bridges installed across the ship.
WEAKNESSES
  • Maintenance Hell: Never before in galactic history has such a maintenance heavy ship existed. The Collateral Star requires utterly absurd levels of maintenance to keep the vessel up and running.
  • Multiple parts: The Collateral Star is an amalgamation of four different capital ships. This makes sourcing parts for the vessel rather difficult.
  • Slow: The Collateral Star is an agonizingly slow moving ship.
  • Ponderous: The Collateral Star has terrible maneuverability.
  • Space only: The Collateral Star can only operate in space, preventing it from landing on planets or even hovering in atmosphere.
  • Fused Core Ship: The Core Ship is permanently attached to the Collateral Star.
  • Crew requirement: The Collateral Star has a huge crew requirement, even with the assistance of the Core Ship computer.
  • Blind spots: Due to the way that the vessel is constructed, it has a number of blind spots that do not have any sort of defensive coverage.
DESCRIPTION

With its ascension into the Imperial Confederation assured, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has decided to construct a flagship worthy of its newly earned status. Unfortunately for Mahporeem, Capital Ship construction is an incredibly difficult endeavor, especially when creating such a vessel from scratch. Far too proud to ask the Imperial Confederation for assistance or a suitably large ship, Mahporeem has instead decided to do what it does best and cobble together a ship from various different sources. The resulting vessel is the abomination known as the Collateral Star.

Created from a Lucrehulk-class Battleship, an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, a Munificent-class Frigate and six Venator-class Star Destroyers, the fact that the Collateral Star actually functions at all is a small miracle in of itself. Being essentially an "Ugly" Capital Ship, the Collateral Star combines the various strengths and weaknesses of each of its component parts into a single platform. For example, the ship is heavily compartmentalized, meaning that should certain parts of it fail, other parts will remain unaffected. This is especially important for the ship's deflector shields, as it allows the vessel to stay in the fight for far longer than if it had a single set of deflector shields.

The Collateral Star also holds an absurd number of starfighters and support craft, totaling 50 squadrons in all. This capacity is extremely important for a ship like the Collateral Star, as it is incapable of landing on any planets itself or even just hovering within a planet's atmosphere. As to how Mahporeem got the ship into orbit in the first place remains something of a mystery.

Besides its massive fighter complement, the Collateral Star is armed with hundreds of heavy weapon emplacements, such as turbolasers, ion cannons, proton and concussion missile launchers and tractor beam projectors. The way that the vessel is designed allows it a nearly 360° firing arc, though significant blind spots do result from the vessel's design. This makes approaching the ship from most angles difficult to achieve, though it also does prevent the ship from concentrating all of its firepower on a single spot.

To crew such a massive vessel requires hundreds of thousands of crew members and droids, though the Collateral Star does use a modified Core Ship computer to keep the ship up and running. This Core Ship, unlike standard Lucrehulk-class Battleship Core Ships, is permanently attached to the vessel, making it far more difficult to target and destroy but preventing it from detaching from the Collateral Star and descending toward planetary surfaces.

Despite this artificial and organic assistance, the Collateral Star is absurdly maintenance heavy, limiting the overall deployment rate of the ship. Regardless of its weaknesses, the Collateral Star has come to symbolize the ingenuity, resourcefulness and military might of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, and Mahporeem plans on utilizing this ship into the foreseeable future.

STRENGTHS
  • What the hell is that thing: When confronted with a ship like the Collateral Star, most enemies may not understand exactly what they are facing, giving the ship a temporary element of surprise
  • Miraculous: The fact the Collateral Star is even able to move at all is something of a small miracle
  • Refitted: Since encountering heavy opposition at Brosi, the Collateral Star has been extensively upgraded and refitted for future engagements
  • Heavy armaments: Though it is primarily a carrier, the Collateral Star boasts an impressive array of weaponry, such as turbolasers, ion cannons, missile launchers and tractor beam projectors
  • Heavily armored: The MIN Collateral Star has been extensively fitted with both heavy interior and exterior armor plating, making it difficult to destroy in battle
  • Compartmentalized: Due to the unique nature of the Collateral Star, much of the ship is heavily compartmentalized, making it even more difficult to destroy in battle unless its Lucrehulk-class Battleship component is targeted
  • Carrier: Even with its extensive refit, the Collateral Star is capable of holding an astonishing 50 squadrons of starfighters and support craft
  • No obvious bridge: Trying to destroy the Collateral Star by destroying its bridge is immensely difficult as the vessel has several bridges integrated into its construction
  • Foundry: The Collateral Star’s onboard Molecular Furnaces and Self-Regulating Droidmakers allow the vessel to construct TIE Vultures and other similarly sized droid starfighters.
  • Automated: Much of the Collateral Star is now heavily automated, which helps to reduce the vessel's previously high crew requirement
WEAKNESSES
  • Ugly: The Collateral Star is an incredibly ugly and unpleasant vessel to look at, which may cause some to develop preconceived notion about the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant
  • Maintenance Hell: Even with its extensive refitting, the Collateral Star requires an extreme level of maintenance to keep the ship up and running
  • Ungainly: The Collateral Star is extremely slow and sluggish, and the fact that it is even able to move at all is something of a small miracle. The ship is ponderous that the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant hasn't even bothered to equip it with SLAB or AIMS
  • Spacebound: The MIN Collateral Star is so large and heavy that is only capable of operating in space, preventing it from landing on planets or even operating within a planet's atmopshere
  • Fused Core Ship: The Core Ship components of the Collateral Star is permanently attached to the vessel, preventing it from detaching and moving under its own power
  • Massive target: The MIN Collateral Star is such a large target that it is nearly impossible to miss, even at long range
  • Expensive: The refits done to the Collateral Star are easily the most expensive ever in all of Mahporeenian history. Should the Imperial Remnant lose the ship, another like it will never be built again, which can make commanders hesitant to deploy the Collateral Star into battle
  • Blind spots: Though the Collateral Star has excellent all around weapon coverage, a few blind spots still exists within the ship's design
  • Automated: Because much of the Collateral Star is now automated, the ship is far less capable of dealing with onboard emergencies and boarding actions
DESCRIPTION

After sustaining heavy battle damage during the fleet engagement over Brosi, the MIN Collateral Star limped back to Mahporeem for repairs and maintenance, which took several months for the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant to successfully carry out. Unsatisfied with the performance of the vessel, the Imperial Remnant decided to extensively refit the vessel for future combat operations, removing nearly every piece of equipment from inside the ship and replacing what was removed with technology from the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, First United Astral Engineering and the Dornean Braha'ket Fleetworks Conglomerate.

Almost every weapon aboard the ship was replaced with more modern technology. The N&Z Umbrella Corporation supplied hundreds of weapons for the Collateral Star, including NZ HKAC/800 Cannons, NZ HP1 Turbolaser Cannons, NZ HP2 Heavy Turbolaser Cannons, NZ LC-2A Laser Cannons, NZ IPC-1 Ion Pulse Cannons and NZ ARD-1 Mono Type Point Defense System Turrets. In addition, the Imperial Remnant installed a number of NZ RTL1 Launcher Turrets with FAE/WH-04 Universal Missile Platforms in a variety of different configurations onto the ship, giving the vessel considerably more firepower than it previously had. Besides this, the Imperial Remnant also equipped the ship with Deck Guns, SPHA-T Heavy Turbolasers, Heavy Guns, Long Guns and a highly unusual Power Crystal weapon, found abandoned in one of Mahporeem's sprawling planetary junkyards.

To ensure that these weapons operated as powerfully as possible, the Imperial Remnant equipped them with Dornean Plasma, along with a variety of Dornean made software systems. These systems, combined with the ship's ATLAS Mk I High Efficiency Droid Brain, ATHENA DCOS-1L and NZ T.o.P. 1 Tactical Order Package allows the Collateral Star to handle nearly any type of threat that it may encounter.

A variety of defense measures were similarly added to the ship, including an NZ SAP-2A SSA boosted by Sensor Rectennas, an NZ CoreCom Scammer, an NZ CoreComm Disruptor and an NZ Thanatos ECM/A Suite. For shielding, an NZ CSS-DECIMUS Capital Shield System was installed aboard the vessel, powered by numerous NZ F.A.R. Fusion Arc Reactors. Rounding out the vessel's defenses are an AR-0B Damage
Reduction Armor Component and copious amounts of Stray Kaleidoscopic Polymer applied to the ship's exterior, along with additional interior and exterior armor plating.

Other special features of the Collateral Star include an NZ MTS "Bloodhound" [Magnetic Targeting Sensor], which was installed aboard the ship in order to prevent Sithspawn such as Garza Garza from hiding from the Collateral Star's numerous weapon systems, and both Molecular Furnaces and Self-Regulating Droidmakers, which allow the vessel to construct droid starfighters such as TIE Vultures during battles and planetary assaults.

It is hoped that all of the upgrades given to the Collateral Star will provide the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant with the advantage that it needs to triumph over its foes and the foes of the Imperial Confederation. Considering the time, effort, and credits that went into the vessel's refit, the Collateral Star must provide a good showing in the upcoming battles that the Imperial Remnant will be engaging in, or it will prove to be nothing more than a massive waste of resources, resources that the Imperial Remnant can ill afford to waste...
