823 ABY - Born an orphan in Nar Shaddaa. The Gulag plague was disappearing but still plagued the poor, bringing upon the death of her parents. Or perhaps it was some other disease that had caused the death. Whatever the cause was, she had very little memory of them. Mariya was found and adopted by a local Hutt Lord.
824 ABY to 840 ABY - Survived in the streets of Nar Shaddaa. Became part of the Hutt's gang specialising in drug trade as she grew up. Past records indicated a difficult childhood. Was a runner for the drug dealer and ended up addicted to drugs themselves. Living in the streets and interaction with members of the gang provided the perfect backdrop for the young Mariya to learn multiple languages. Huttese from the Hutss, Rodian and Aqualish from the mercenaries. Gamorrese from the bodyguards. Twi'leki from the exotic dancers.
840 ABY - While doing a smuggling run, she was captured by Republican troops. She agreed to serve the Republic in exchange for her freedom instead of going to back to jail. Her first assignment was infiltration back to the very gang that she had grown up with. It was not a difficult choice since she was treated like a mere tool during her time spent there, with little love. After the drug sweeping operation, the Republic sent her to a drug rehabilitation center. She spent months going through rehabilitation, an experience she called it "cold turkey of hell" and was successfully cleaned. SInce leaving the rehab center, she decided to drink stimcaf in lieu of drugs. It became a daily habit.
840 ABY to 843 ABY - Served in the Republic as an covert ops agent, specialising in black operations and intelligence gathering. Was also handpicked to be a personal bodyguard of the Chancellor.
843 ABY to 849 ABY - For reasons unknown, Mariya left the Republic for Velusia with the ex Chancellor and joined an underworld cartel called The Galactic Underworld, commonly known as TGU. The cartel was formed and led by an infamous pirate queen with blazing redhair and furious punches, the one and only Saede Taggart. During her years there, she opened a few cantinas called "Soul Brothers & Sisters" which doubled up as a spy network establishment for the cartel and a business front for credit laundering. She also picked up the additional language of Mando'a from a certain Mandalorian called Kane E. Smart during her time here.
849 ABY - Underworld cartel collapsed and everyone was gone. Frustrated with the loss of her family, Mariya retired her rifle and went into a recluse.[/COLOR]
