DESCRIPTION
A dead mercenary is a useless mercenary. Mariya knows that well, and her prior military training specialisation has taught her the importance of remaining hidden. You can be the most powerful person in the galaxy, and yet you can never overcome the limits of overwhelming odds when thrown against you.

Enter stealth devices. They are not new, just not commonly obtained.

Mariya's own device is a hacked creation. A military issued cloaking device was given to her when she was still serving, but she figured that she could try and make it better. Like allowing her to run with it. She compromised the cloaking capabilities o achieve the trade off, but felt that it was worth it.

Stealth allows her to observe her targets from afar, perform reconnaissance for convert operations and complements her sniping skills. Using the cloaking device will greatly help to allow her to venture into enemy lines and avoid detection from scanners.

That said, the device is always meant for long and medium range usage. Moving too close to a person is not going to work well. The user's ghostly outline can be seen by naked eyes and will be deemed as an intruder. Care is also required to avoid any EMPs that will drain the energy from the device. Sure, it will recharge itself and be used after a while. But the user will probably be dead by then.
