Long Overdue (Jedi Skirmishing Sith Empire's Ossus Library!)

Eyes narrow, but his head does not turn.

"Alexandra, how quaint. Have you come back to serve, or are you here just to annoy me?"

Another jumped into the fray, unleashing a warbled bellow that washed over the Sith Emperor like a tidal wave. Crossing both arms across his chest, the Emperor was able to mitigate the damage and keep himself from flying back; being pushed back several meters instead. He took one step forward, the ground cracking beneath his weight as he stared both of these newcomers down. Carnifex didn't recognize the Besalisk, but then again, he doubted he would bother to remember the face of a dead man.

"I am to bring Master Manu to his mother, worms. You will fare far worse if you choose to get between a Dark Lord and his prey."

He reached out with both hands, flames still churning brightly around his hands and forearms. From the center of his palms emerged long narrow blades, widening as they lengthened to about a meter and a half each, flames licking up their sides to wreath the entire weapons in roaring fire. Armed now with four blades, his two telekinetic lightsabers and the two new Sith blades he conjured from his own flesh, the Emperor rushed towards the Jedi with speed unforeseen by someone of that size.

Lashing out, he sought to cut each of them to pieces.

The bellow was successful, pushing the Dark Lord back several meters and providing the two with space. He mused to Rhane and Alexandra about taking Manu with him, that won't happen. Rhane twirls both of his sabers around, entering a Jar'Kai stance for the upcoming duel. The Sith rushed the both of them, sabers in air and his hands engulfed in fiery fury. As Carnifex approached, Rhane de-coupled his double bladed sabers in order to have four single bladed weapons, it was a move he used to hopefully surprise the Sith. Rhane parried the first of the few attacks, and made several of his own, not paying much attention to what damage they caused.

But, the frightening speed of the sabers overwhelmed him, causing him to open his guard up to a thrust by the fiery blade. It singed the right side of his torso. The blade was pulled down, searing the flesh along that side of his torso and hip. Rhane jumped backwards and winced, healing himself using the amplified power of the robes. He looked over toward Manu, he was seriously injured. Rhane needed to end the battle quickly. He charged back in, re-coupling his lightsabers into two double-bladed ones while unleashing a powerful blast of bright yellow Electric Judgement with his two free hands. Rhane would then make several jabbing thrusts and strikes accompanied by acrobatic movements. He focused more on speed, hoping to overwhelm his opponent.

The fight had taken a different twist than Avacyn had expected. Where she chose her actions on the assumption she would have to deal with a disadvantage in numbers, that did not reflect reality as it was now. So, when her opponent had neutralized the playing field between them, she decided to change her focus for the moment. "Will I disappoint you if I went down to just one, then?" the woman mockingly asked while she indeed extinguished the saber in her right hand and clipping it back, the venom in her voice making it abundantly clear she wanted him dead. She wouldn't be any punches to do so, either. With one hand now free and one less blade to keep track of, she would be able to use the Force in more ways than before.

Her direct answer to her opponent's invitation was no more than an amused chuckle, but when it seemed Avacyn would give a proper response she instead stomped her foot onto the ground. Shards of stone that paved the way towards the library broke off and shot upwards into the air, hovering there for only a flash before the Sith lady balled her right hand into a fist and with a motion that the shards would mirror, they shot forwards towards the man. It was followed up by a dash up towards him and another strike, a jab signature to the Makashi form toward his abdomen.

Throughout this all Avacyn was aware of the rush of the Dark side that came from her yet-unknown ally, but paid it no thought. Her focus had to remain on her opponent, after all.

Cotan couldn't deny a small amount of satisfaction at seeing the Sith put up her other lightsaber. Not entirely because it meant his joke was acknowledged, although that was part of it. He was a bit of a traditionalist when it came to things like lightsaber combat, and all the kids running around with their double lightsabers or dual-bladed lightsabers offended his traditionalist sensibilities. "Good to see there are still some Sith who like to do things the old fashioned way!" he quipped, shifting his stance and letting the point of his lightsaber drop. Fool's guard.

Then some sharp rocks started floating in front of him. He reached out with the Force towards them as well, although it was too late to prevent them from being sent his way; he made a quick gesture with his left hand, the shards all being redirected off to his right. Almost in the same movement he turned his wrist and arm, his blade coming up in a quick arc to catch Kaalia's thrust. "Makashi? I like it," he commented approvingly. Seeing other people use his favourite form always made him happy.

However, rather than using a more normal counterattack, Cotan did something very different. He spun on the ball of his right foot, turning his stance around to a left foot-lead, but keeping his lightsaber in between his chest and Kaalia's blade. As he did so, he used the momentum to augment a more unorthodox counter—that being his left fist, coming in straight and hard for the Sith Lady's face.

The water rose faster than Hirou had been expecting it to. Before long the Nezumi was left in the precarious situation of needing to use their precious papers as a raft. It was either that or swim while trying to hold them over their head and that seemed a quick passage to a swifter end in Hirou's eyes. While they tried to use their paws to paddle and direct, the force of the water was too much and eventually they gave up.

The current tugged them along, catching the makeshift boat in a small eddy and spinning it around and around. Fur wet, a little bedraggled, the little creature sat in the middle of the sturdiest piece of flimsy, chin in their paws and wondering just what they were going to do NOW.

Then a voice sounded and Hirou looked up, nose and wet whiskers quivering.

There was.... a.....

Brain.

Hirou blinked.

Even with everything they had seen in the Empire, this was a first.

"Actually," they said, voice high and squeaking (if a little water logged). The paper kept turning around and around, making it difficult to properly and politely face the brain they were addressing. A floating brain it might be, but no need to be RUDE.

"I would quite appreciate help yes, please and thank you."

It was very clear that without aid, the little creature would be going absolutely nowhere.

The Bounty Hunter had become undoubtedly caught atop the structure, and left abandoned by Australis- resigned to a hazardous scenario and potentially lethal fate that he could only ever intend to resolve it himself. Nobody had cared for the Bounty Hunter, especially here-- Fett was entirely alone. He had firmly cemented both of his booted feet atop of the angular surface through the aid of the mag-locks. Fett then began to stand, albeit cautiously with his Carbine loosely hanging from it's sling around his frame. He couldn't possibly intend to venture a vertical slope, and so he remained stuck. But, he couldn't sit idly. Perhaps Hunter's Aide might provide hardlight steps for him to descend, but it was awfully lengthy. He could do more from way up here, especially considering the sight of Carnifex against a cluster of Jedi.

Fett patiently brought his rangefinder of his T-Visor, enhancing his vision and enabling a zoom that coupled with his Carbine's sight. He patiently waved it over the Besalisk, ultimately squeezing the trigger several times in an attempt to launch a volley of bolts at the Jedi Master.

Neoplix was again surprised. As a Gen’dai, he had punched through starship armor before. Gen’dai were genetically capable of lifting dozens of tons, and his armor only augmented that. Somehow, this Jedi’s armor denied the basic laws of physics, resisting repeated armor piercing rounds and then massively powerful blows to the same location. No armor was realistically capable of that… But no matter. His enemy was still touching him, and so, as the Stormwolf flipped, attempting to brace his feet before the repeated kicks, Neoplix simply electrified his hand, sending the force lightning straight into his foe, through their contact. His power armor, with it’s electrical parts, would almost certainly short out. One thing about phrik: it was highly conductive of electricity due to it’s dispersive nature.

This would almost certainly send the jedi into painful convulsions, dropping him to the ground, supported only by his arm, which neoplix still held. Neoplix would continue to channel the electrical energy into his enemy, and would not stop until he was clearly unconscious.

If, somehow, Alex was still able to complete his multiple kicks, he would find neoplix’s power armor and grip to be virtually unbreakable, due to the combination of his strength and the armor. His kicks would bounce harmlessly off of neoplix’s massive frame, and his attempt to push and then pull his arm free would be met by neoplix raising his arm higher, to dangle the jedi almost ten feet in the air by his arm, and continue his electrical attack. and if the jedi drew his pistol, Neoplix would lunge to the left, maintaining his vicelike grip on the robotic arm, while ducking to avoid any potential blasts.

It spoke!

Oros expelled water from his form, shriveling up in what passed for Celegian alarm. Slowly his rational mind wrested back control and the pulsing brain floating at the center of the cylindrical tank began to reinflate, absorbing back liquid cyanogen even has he appraised the tiny little sentient creature before him. There could be no mistaking its sentience now, even though the invertebrate did not possess conventional sight, he could easily sense how its cognitive centers had flared up once it had heard his 'voice' and overcome its own surprise. Not only had it answered, but so far their interaction had been exceedingly polite, as if two colleagues had simply bumped into each other in the office.

But of course. Brace yourself, you may find this sensation curious.

Size mattered not, but it still required very little concentration from the Jedi Master to lift the sentient rodent off of its precarious makeshift lifeboat using only the power of his mind. Tiny limbs squirmed in instinctual discomfort as they reached out for solid ground beneath them, only to find empty air. Examining their surroundings, Oros realized he had not thought this entirely through. The entire corridor on either side of the alcove was mostly flooded, and while it would require no effort at all to keep his new friend suspended in midair, he suspected this would not be a comfortable arrangement.

For lack of a better option, he set the sentient rodent down on the upper lid of his tank. It was not ideal, but it would do for now. Rising fully above the flood waters, the tank's lower repulsorlifts generated ripples as it defied gravity to hold them both aloft.

I am called Oros, his voice echoed like a crystal sigh in Hirou's mind, Might I ask who you are?

Amethyst eyes traveled over the armored warrior, noting his comment in silence as she studied him. Black lightsaber, following in the footsteps of the Darksaber of old Mandalorian lore she supposed, held in a Makashi salute and low guard. Beskar'gam, weak points are joints and neck. She had seen the Emperor's lightning had little effect, so she suspected there were some technological tricks concealed in the armor against Force Lightning. Expected other weapons, although after his tussle with the Emperor and Fett, she doubted he had very many armaments left in working order. Best to keep on guard, just in case. Power in the Force... and that made her lips curl into a smile. Raw, instinctual still. Someone had not had much training yet, although she could put him on the same level as possibly a mid-Knight once he had some more tutoring.

Red light erupted from the hilt in her hand, bringing it into a neutral guard.

"What an excellent experiment suggestion, and thank you for being my volunteer," she finally replied.

Purple eyes turned amber as she drew upon the dark side. She wouldn't move to attack yet, but he would know he couldn't escape her if he tried to flee. No, he would have to attack to get through her, and it would give her more data, more to analyze, about the Warmaster. He was a warrior at heart, no matter how much Jedi teachings he had been exposed to, and that was something she could use against him at the proper time.

//The Catacombs are flooding//
//Close the blast-doors. I repeat: Close the blast-doors.//

Just as Filiae exited, she saw a robed figure enter. Her head clocked slightly to the side as she pivoted to get a second glance. She saw the dark robes and the raised hood, and for many that would have been the end of it, but Filiae was not like most people. Her training geared her towards suspicion, even toward other Sith. Her investment in the information stored in this locale only sharpened her suspicions of others. So when she saw a dark robe moving into the Chamber she had just exited, she stole that extra glance to make sure.

And it was off somehow.

Her eyes narrowed as she tried to pin what was wrong with the situation, and they opened wide again as the blast-door shut. Her mouth just opened as she looked to the side, seeing the water flooding in from other sections of the library.

"Ravri'ihah ses bah ch'a cser tocen!"

The sting of Cheunh curses trickled over her blue lips as she ducked out of the way for the figure coming tumbling down the stairs.

With quick motions of her hands, Filiae engaged the outer blast-droors with her mind, forcing the system to shut them. Her technical mind also reached to the air-ventilation system, forcing it to increase air-pressure below and sealing off further chambers to create pockets of air. Water now reached half-way up her ankles in the ante-chamber where she stood, but as the vents opened to circulate air, water began filtering out. It was not exactly good for the system, but it was preferable to lasting water-damage and drowned librarians.

Then her attention turned to the door back into the chamber. She focused on its internal circutry

"Open the blast-door" "Open the blast door."

It began to open again, reluctantly.

Hirou watched with some concern as the brain shriveled up, expelling a small jet of water. That looked.... unhealthy. Was it ill? Distressed? The entire situation was stressful, the Nezumi could agree, but they were certain that if the.... floating.... brain.... suddenly became incapacitated there would be nothing they could do about it.

"O-oh!"

Hirou looked down and around. After the initial surprise there was no particular alarm from the Nezumi however. It was not the first time someone had picked them up with the Force. Wrapping their tail around their waist, they scrambled a little to gain purchase when settled down. The tank was smooth and slick and the way their nails clacked on it was not particularly pleasant. That said, they were relieved to be out of the path of the rising waters.

"Could I trouble you to retrieve my papers as well? They are very important to me and I would appreciate it greatly."

Pink nose poked over the edge, and Hirou shook suddenly, from ears to the tip of their tail, tiny water drops flying.

"My name is Tabigarashu Madara! But for someone who has helped me so, you may call me Hirou!"

Oh! They had rhymed! It was entirely unintentional, but their chest puffed out a bit. They would have to remember to tell [member="Darth Saarai"] about it, he would be very proud, Hirou thought.

"Do you know what caused the flood?" Hirou's head tipped to the side and their back foot came up, tapping at one ear, trying to shake the water out of the other. "It came up so quickly! I thought surely I was done for."

And just like that, he made the first offensive move as he unleashed the Force in a wave push, a lightsaber strike heading for her left shoulder behind it. Taeli merely moved with the flow of the push, pivoting her foot so she slid away from the majority of the strike and bringing her lightsaber up to deflect his strike away and to the side. She gave three steps more, moving back a little from the armored warrior, but not enough that he couldn't easily stride forward to continue his assault.

She still did not make an aggressive move. She was quite content to let the Warmaster direct the ebb and flow of their duel because, unfortunately for him, she had not learned not never subscribed to the philosophy some Sith as the Emperor did. She didn't do crushing offensive or overreach. She would wait, conserving energy and using her footwork and movement to her advantage. It was one reason she never went for full armor. A duel was just another thing to analyze, to study, to learn more about an opponent from. So far, in that brief exchange, she had to say she was disappointed so far. He was very very rough around the edges when it came to the Force.

If she wanted to, she highly doubted he could stop any of her spells. He had already been subjected to her Force Drain earlier, so she suspected his energy levels, even as he drew on the Force, were what he had started the day with, or even what he started the fight with the Emperor and Fett were.

"Sloppy, and wasteful of energy," she said matter of factly. Ever the teacher, even against an opponent.

Alex's strategy didn't go exactly as planned. His kicks bounced harmlessly off his opponents armor, and his attempt to free his right arm and draw his blaster was met with a sudden jerk upwards. All at once, Alex was dangling nearly ten feet from the ground by his right arm as Force lightning began arcing into his armor.

"What the...ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

The thing about phrik, which Alex had failed to take into consideration, was that it was highly conductive. As things stood at the moment, he was the perfect lightning rod. All he could do was dangle helplessly and scream in absolute agony as the current continued to flow into his body. Then a familiar voice echoed in Alex's head, telepathically. Well, KARK! Didn't she always manage butt in at the most inopportune moments?

"Don't you die now, Alex StormWolf. The honor of taking your life belongs to me!"

"I'm not on Ossus at the moment. I have more pressing concerns than piles of moldy scrolls and flickering holocrons."

His blade came for the same shoulder, and Taeli recognized it as a feint as an experienced warrior like the former Warmaster wouldn't attack the same spot immediately after she had deflected it away. She would move her saber slightly, as though to deflect the attack way again in the same way as before, but she could see his hand moving for the two-handed head strike. A power move, using his greater weight and height against her. Smart, still not exactly a Juyo strike, but it would still be a strong attack. It was almost certainly set up for something else, although she could not be certain what it might be.

And it was not an attack she would ever stay in one place for.

As it came down, she made advantage of the fact she was roughly a head shorter than him to simply duck and pivot out of the attack, not even bothering to use her saber. She saw the left hand moving from the saber hilt, reaching for her... and she felt herself being yanked towards him even as two compartments opened on his knees. Great, he had gone for concealed launchers of some sort and his pull on her was technological and not through the Force. Bloody Mandos and their toys, always thinking it could overcome the Force.

Even as she rooted herself in place with the Force, becoming a literal personification of an immovable object for a moment, she flicked her hand and froze the darts heading her way in place.

"That didn't look like a thank you," she simply said, letting them fall to the floor.

Coren stepped back; she missed. Her lightsaber reverberated at the twirl of her wrist as she forced her arm to retreat. She'd made a conscious decision in those spare seconds, quickly running her thumb over the ignition switch of her lightsaber as she often did when she sought to use the techniques that were Trakata.

Silently preparing herself for the opening she'd provided him, and the subsequent impact that would follow, she took it head on.

Ughh!

She'd taken the hit and fell back on the ground, her hair sprawling forward to hide her face. Seemingly caressing her stomach as if coddling herself from the pain she could hear.

Coren Starchaser said:
“I said, stand down.”

"Coren..." She was sounding like herself for a min, breaking free for just a moment of the torment she'd been forced into. She crawled along the ground, sounding as if she was in tears. "I...I failed.." She visibly started to caressing her midsection. She was seemingly more so herself again; less angry and more rational.

That was where this was going now. Coren Starchaser, self-proclaimed, and possibly undisputed Sword of the Jedi was leading the team here for a reason. His reason was to gather the Jedi and start making sure that teams on all sides of the fence could work together. But he was sensing the issues, the issues with Mishel and what she was working on, and with Manu and Kaine, the pain coming from the leaders. He had COtan with him, and Rhane who had just left after working to dispatch the dark side shade. He knew that there were other issues around but he couldn’t do much.

What he could do was stall the fight he had and allow others to get away from theirs. He reached out in the Force, while he had the time, between Romi’s fall and her next strike and the call was out to all the Jedi in the area, anyone who would be receptive of Coren’s message, and it was simple.

“Get out of here.” He called, almost ordered. And for any who knew him, they knew that this man was a leader of both military and Jedi. But while that was sent out in a blast of energy and the Force, Coren turned back to Romi.

Having Cotan on his back was helping him feel more secure, and watching that dark side entity, he was curious as to just how much destruction Rhane’s dagger had done. But with Cotan handling Romi’s other ally, and Rhane taking a shot at the other? Coren could focus on his mission for being here.

“Only failed if you don’t stop yourself.” He said, openly, his saber pike’s frame at the ready. “Turn away from what you are doing. Help me get these Jedi offworld.”

Alexandra sighed as the man dropped to the ground and sent a bellow into the face of the dark lord, forcing her to withdraw the rod in the small of her back and let it extend out to its full length. The staff remained in her hands and she leaned against it as the dark lord stood and withdrew two blades that made her shift her stance quickly. The dark lord took no time in crossing the distance, his blade coming forward and she could see in an instant that the blade would cleave right through her staff with nothing done to strengthen the weapon.

Light crawled over the surface of her hands and then spread onto the staff, crawling over it and enveloping the staff. It would be enough to protect her from his blade or his saber but she would not be able to rely on that for too long. Anything that threatened to break her concentration would be a threat to her, and this could mean something as simple as a ally becoming injured. She could switch over to her sabers or her blade, but neither were appropriate for this situation. Carnifex needed to remain alive, but he would not be as mindful of her survival. The man, while a genocidal maniac, was one that understood restraint and order, even if his methods were dangerous and wrong.

But he is better than those who would claim his throne, or those that would challenge his empire.

But she would not turn on Rhane, as it was not his time to die, nor was it Manu's time to be taken to the Sith.

She debated on responding to [member="Darth Carnifex"]'s words, the bit about her returning to his service fresh in her mind and his sabers floating on the edge of her sight. The blade may have been stopped for that moment, but there was still the sabers to worry about and her feet grounded themselves as the force fed into her muscles. He would break through her defenses, being stronger in body, but most likely able to push his body far beyond hers given he has no need for restraint.

So she would lay a few words out for the man, seizing the brief moment.

"As much as I would be there at your beck and call Zambrano, today is not that day and your silence at that kangaroo court of a trial was deafening. You know where I live if you wish to know where my loyalties lie... for now, lets enjoy ourselves." Her hands shifted and she would attempt to cast his blade into the ground, using his own strength to do so, guiding that blade with her staff.

“NNNNNGH!! GGGHHHHH!! EHAH! Oh that is pain!” I pant, grip my left arm with the only functional hand I have left. “Woo!!”

Rolling on my back, I put the valuable time Alexandra and Rhane buy me to a healer’s use. The Light which sustains me buoyed me up. I bask within it, a respite from all but the pain. I’ve exhausted myself on the fight. If I’m to heal, I must let my control of pain go.

Pain floods in my senses to the point of madness. My screams and barks of pain wither the air around me, as shard by shattered shard, the bones in my shoulder reknit. Normally I would put a patient under sedation for the healing I attempt upon myself. A shoulder joint rebuilt into its socket. Torn muscles and sinew sewn back together. Anatomy corrected. Inch by agonizing inch, my left shoulder, then my left rib cage, then my left humerus... I writhe on the ground as my left radius and ulna crack back into their joints. Fingers turn from dust to bone.

For my amputated leg, there is nothing to do but staunch the cauterize blood, and pray the pain doesn’t send me unconscious.

I sit up, shaking arms holding my torso erect. The battle... I have to save Kaine. I have to end Carnifex... there’s nothing I can do. Alexandra Feanor’s responses are far too curious.

‘Kaine! You know that thing about leave me behind? About that... IM MISSING A LEG!! Abort! Abort!’

A slight smile formed on the right side of her lips at his comment. She was probably about to rock his understanding of her, even as he prepared for another assault.

"Ibic Darjetii ganar a Mando buir," she responded in fluent Mando'a, as only someone who had learned the language from a young age could. Her accent might leave something to be desired, but in her defense, she hardly ever spoke the language of her adoptive mother. His lightsaber came towards her again, his left hand extended still using his repulsor to hold her in place. But it was his manipulations through the Force she was focused on. Manipulating the dart was to be expected, and it showed if he put his mind to some finesse, he could be capable of it. What did catch her attention was the sneaky attack he was trying on her neck. Dark, even for a Mando, and very devious. Perhaps there was hope for him yet.

His attack on her artery would meet a roadblock of her command of the Force, stopping him from tearing it. The trajectory of the dart he was manipulating would go, not into her leg as he hoped, but into the side of her boot. But even as skilled as she was, she couldn't stop three attacks at once. She raised her arms, for all appearances looking as though she were trying to ward off his attack in a foolish way, and she felt the saber connect on the sleeve of her robe between her gauntlet and upper arm armor. But, as Veles had found out long ago, Taeli didn't play fair. His lightsaber might not be shorting out from the cortosis woven robes, but it wasn't cutting through either She could feel the heat blisters though, and she was pretty sure just the force of the blow had either heavily bruised the bone or possibly even fractured it as pain shot up her arm.

But pain was fuel for a Sith, just as the rage and hatred she kept hidden behind her calm demeanor, the same fuel that was even now, fueling one of her favorite spells.

"Tadti', Atki iw Jina'tis," she hissed. From her shadow, rising like a dark mist, was a tendril of pure dark side energy. It surged forward to the arm holding the saber that was still connected to her arm, going to wrap around the limb at the elbow. If it was successful, it would disintegrate all matter it touched. Flesh, metal, bone... it would all be dissolved and the touch of the tendril itself would introduce Kaine to the unnerving and unending void that awaited those the dark side completely obliterated, the same void she sent Omai Rhen's soul to.

Ic: Darth Neoplix
Location: ossus
Enemies: Jedi ( [member="Alex StormWolf"] )
Allies: sith
Goal: eliminate Jedi interlopers

Neoplix stood victorious, holding the twitching and unconscious body of a Jedi in his left hand. He drew his enchanted Larang dagger from his belt, and dropped his opponent to the ground. Using the enchanted alchemized blade (able to slice through any metal) he cut along the seams and straps in the armor, removing it and slinging it over his shoulder. He tucked the enemy’s lightsabers and other weaponry away in his belt. He lifted and slung the armor from the Jedi over his massive shoulder, his power armor and natural strength making it easy.

Then, sheathing his sword, he reached down and lifted the Jedi by his collar. “A fine addition to my collection.” He focused, and using force drain, pulled the force power from the Jedi, adding it to his own. Once he was finished, he injected a sedative, designed specifically to counteract force users and their powers. Lifting the unconscious body over his shoulder, he strode confidently back through the sith library. “Jedi intruders, check Identification, they have cloaks and disguises!”

He continued through the temple, stopping only to snag a few amulets and four swords, along with a holocron. Moving as fast as he could, he jogged to his ship, dropping his captive off in the brig, locking him into a cell. Then, he hit the controls, lifting the ship off the surface of the planet, and blasting it into hyperspace. He had work to do elsewhere
