It had been a greatly busy year for the Sith, to be certain. Civil warring and various other disputes had taken their toll on the order and it's territories, but at last, stability seemed to be largely returning, at least for the moment. Darth Xyrah had busied himself with the restructuring and rebuilding of the Sith economy, repairing the damage done by the former leadership of the Sith Imperial Banking Clan, which had been firmly brought under his control. With his financial savvy and ruthless collection of old debts, the coffers of the Sith were once more returning to their former grandeur, so to celebrate, Darth Xyrah had organized a lavish and highly extravagant Life Day celebration at his royal palace within the Golden City itself on Eliad, inviting the upper echelons of Sith and Imperial nobility, as well as various other important individuals and representatives from organizations from both within AND beyond Sith territory.

As the first group of guests arrived on Eliad, they were ushered through the lavish city into the palace itself, which put even the Emperor's own residence to shame in terms of sheer grandeur. Once inside, they were guided to the vast throne room, which also served as an excellent ball room and feasting hall in a pinch, ideal for today's festivities. There, they would find the finest foods and drinks to indulge in, as well as the sound of festive music filling the appropriately decorated chamber. Darth Xyrah himself reclined comfortably upon the central throne, sat beside his husband Darth Carnifex and a retinue of his loved ones, personal servants and an appropriate number of his personal IG-X Magnaguard protectors. There he would hold audience for his guests for the moment, eager to see who might be arriving for the party.

 

[Darth Valor]

Darth Valor, adorned in his distinctive Sith regalia, entered the palace with a measured stride. The opulence was undeniable, even by Sith standards. His keen eyes surveyed the room, acknowledging the vast array of Sith and Imperial nobility in attendance. His presence, like a shadow cast upon gilded walls, exuded an air of reserved strength.

Approaching the central throne where Darth Xyrah held court, Valor inclined his head respectfully. "Darth Xyrah, your efforts in restoring prosperity to the Sith are commendable. A Life Day celebration is a fitting reward for these times of renewal."

"Director Laborr, do you believe it is wise for us to seek additional audiences with the Sith Order. We already have the suspicions of the Strategic Intelligence Agency regarding our past affiliations with the New Imperial Order." Came the voice of the Skakoan combat engineer as they descended down onto the landing platform, glancing at the datapad with both hands. Director Gat Tambor had taken the gamble of aligning with the New Imperial Order during their open rebellion against the Sith Empire so many years ago, which had proven beneficial during their rapid expansion, and subsequent monopolization of the Imperial Economy. But now that the Empire of Tavlar was gone in the collapse the Federation had needed to muggle into other markets such as the Sith Order, Enclave and the Empire of the Lost.

Darth Carnifex had negotiated with the Muun Vicelord Frannie Damascus III and secured an agreement with the Federation, with the only stipulation being the handing over of children on the various worlds that the Federation Controlled. It was a simple enough bargain, one which allowed a foothold within Sith Space.

"The Alliance is preoccupied with the Alliance-Enclave War to focus their attention on the Federation. Our outreaching to the Sith Order is merely a survival tactic, one to insure that commerce and trade flow freely from one sector of the galaxy to another without complicating our various investitures." He had made sure of it by positioning a New Minister within the Alliance Senate, one who had a more profound reputation. They were here to insure that they received favorable treatment if the Sith Empire rose once again to dominate the galaxy.

As the delegation moved through the various corridors of the opulent palace, it was a statement designed to say that the Sith Order had power and influence since the restructuring of the Sith Imperial Banking Clan. Entering into the Gathering Hall to make the acquittance of Darth Xyrah.

 

[Ansisa]

Ansisa was hiding.

She hated events like this, but when he parent had caught wind of it and the guest list, after the failings of the Bith attack they had made sure she attended, whether she wanted to or not. Dark hair pinned in a bun with a few carefully chosen free strands and a full length gown, she tucked herself neatly away at the edge of the room. She had a good view of the buffet table and she was still in the path of the waiters floating past with drinks that she would at least be able to drink herself out of her discomfort.

It wasn't that she was socially inadequate, Ansisa had been well schooled, she knew how to play the game. She simply found no joy in it. Her joy lay in the comfort of battle, with a lightsbaer in her hand and a clear line of sight on her enemies. Here? Potential enemies were everywhere. Snatching a glass from a passing waiter tray, she stopped herself from slouching and removed the sulky look from her face. She could pass as a royal if she wanted, but tonight she'd settle for passing unnoticed and unbothered.

"Ugh, and here I thought this world couldn't get any worse." The masked man muttered under his breath as his gaze swept across the room, stepping into the throne room and not bothering to hide the disgust seeping into his tone. Given how low he spoke, only the woman at his side would be able to hear him anyhow. He glanced around at the opulent displays of food and decor, at the guests dressed in their finest attire and the dazzling architecture. The sight of it all made his stomach churn, especially when his wandering gaze spotted the host at the far end of the throne room.

"Be on your guard Acolyte. We're in the belly of the beast now. Eliad, a world of pompous and bloated nobles all bowing to one of the Sith's most...eccentric internal enemies. Xyrah, concubine of the Twice-Failed Emperor Carnifex." He doubted that Revna would have ever heard such a tone from her master, one that barely concealed the roiling fury that he usually kept so hidden and subtle. "My apologies that your first encounter with the Sith Order must be suffering the presence of a Kainite party, but I unfortunately had to attend."

As usual his words were vague and underlaid with meanings that had yet to be fully revealed to the younger Sith, his attention split between her and the rest of the guests. "We will watch and play nice, mingle if we have to, but we are only here because we must be. There is no enjoyment and few allies to be found here, only enemies and those that have yet to make their positions clear. Understand?"

 

[Firrerreo]

Life Day was an odd holiday.

Firrerreo walked the halls, head high as he kept his hands clasped behind his back. He wasn't wearing anything technically festive, though his usual teal and gold robe could be seen as much. But, no. Gifts plastered with the names for whomever they were intended to didn't make him particularly comfortable.

He'd never give his true name. Then again, perhaps having the names of others and giving them gifts was a way to show dominion? The different cultures were certainly a clash. At least he wasn't the only one who found this place insufferable though. He smirked just a bit before stepping over to the loner Chiss with a chuckle.

"You look like you're enjoying yourself."

"Husband, Darth Strosius"

Alina chuckled just a little. She'd just been passing by, fully intent on blending in with the crowd again to watch, not interact. But she couldn't help herself when she saw Alisteri. And another woman, no less. She doubted he had himself a girlfriend, and given how he spoke, well. Apprentice. That alone was far more surprising.

And fascinating.

"It might not be the most common known fact, but they are in fact husbands now. But while we're gossiping, why don't you tell me about this new friend of yours, mm?" Her unnaturally red eyes focused right on Revna, filled with what could only be called danger.

"I am very curious as to who she is."

Annika breezed into the venue in her favourite purple dress, except tonight she had enchanted it that it shifted back and forth between her own purple, and the blood red of Kaine. Her master was absent once again, she wondered whether she was fated to not see Darth Nwul again, an ophaned apprentice who would learn from the temple, but missed the personal touch of a master.

At least the academy was proving fruitful in increasing her power. More personally her blossoming connection with the awkward Rayth was more than pleasant and their new physical training regime was doing wonders for her wellbeing. She grinned to herself thinking about him as she grabbed herself a drink. The aura in the air was much more palatable to her than the last ball she had attended with the Sith, she rememebered how sick she had felt when she first saw the emperor, the darkness had been a little overwhelming, but now... now it was much more of an invigorating presence.

The sixteen year old even spotted faces she knew, Firrerreo , who she had ridden... something... away from battle with, was chatting to another person. Ansisa was another she had met a couple of time. They were a strange family, pretending to be cordial to each other whole plotting each other's imminent downfall, so not unlike lifeday with her parents and sister. "So, who do we have here?" she asked herself looking for someone to play with, she learned in Kainite space, but was not yet important enough for anyone to care about her allegiences.

 

[Revna]

Revna could hardly believe her ears when her Sith mentor told her that she would be joining him on an excursion off-planet. She was even more surprised to hear that it was for a Life Day celebration being held by another Sith. This news came as a pleasant shock to the young Acolyte; her exposure to other Sith had been few and far between…mostly just her mentor, along with the other Squires. But that was set to change rather quickly. Despite the sudden onslaught of anxiousness she felt at the prospect of meeting others-especially other Sith strangers-she was also rather excited about the chance to attend and see how others lived and operated within the Sith Order. Her mentor was the complete opposite; he was not happy about having to attend such an event, and he made it very obvious. The news had come with little time to prepare and unfortunately the little woman had nothing fancy to wear to a party, so she chose a fresh pair of robes and made sure to pretty herself up as much as she could before she and Darth Strosius departed. She wanted to look her best while she was with him.

Their journey took them to the planet Eliad, and it was impossible to miss the enormous golden structure that drew the eye as one came in to land at the starport. The sheer magnificence of the place made Revna’s jaw drop. And she was still only seeing the outside of the place…the Golden Palace, as it was called.

Her awe at such blatant display of wealth and grandeur only grew once she and the masked Sith entered the palace proper, and despite her mentor’s long purposeful strides, she kept up with him fairly well, staying as close to him as she dared, staying in her usual place at his left side and just behind him.

Revna was not a stranger to extravagant parties; while still in the bonds of her enslavement, she had been forced to serve during such events. But even those parties and celebrations paled in comparison to the opulence she saw before her now. It was hard not to be mesmerized by all the displays of wealth and what credits could buy when one had deep pockets.

The two of them were guided into the throne room and immediately she could sense the potent thrum of the Dark side within, echoing off of something or someone. She could practically feel the disgust rolling off of her Sith mentor once they were within the vast chamber as well. There were people here already, dressed in fine attire to go with the festive atmosphere, and she felt very out of place in her simple black robes. Darth Strosius spoke to her then, his voice low and colored with anger, and she gave him her full attention as she always did when he spoke.

Enemies? So these were the other Sith that he had warned her about in the very beginning? This…former (twice?!) Emperor Carnifex and his entourage. She briefly tore her gaze from the masked face of the Sith beside her to look about the room, her eyes wide as she took in everyone and everything, including those seated upon the thrones at the far end of the chamber. She had never been anywhere near anyone of higher ‘nobility’, let alone a former Emperor. Yes…she was definitely out of her element here.

She actually felt a smile touch her face at his apology for having her suffer through this with him, and took note of the fact that they would ‘play nice’ and mingle if need be, but for the most part both of them were there to observe.

“I understand, my lord.” Revna murmured with a dip of her head, using a more formal way of addressing the masked Sith with her than what she was used to, and hoped that he wouldn’t mind. She let her gaze wander from guest to guest, taking in their appearances and observing how they walked or talked or interacted with others. Even with such a celebration going on, she could feel an undercurrent of tension here. She observed a young Chiss woman attempting to keep a low profile, and she marveled at the beauty of the gown she was wearing. Hmm. She doesn’t look like she wants to be here either…Revna remarked to herself silently. Her eyes were drawn away as a dark clad Sith approached those seated upon the thrones, and she observed the interaction with keen eyes. She was too far away to hear what was being said, but she watched nonetheless. She turned her gaze from the black clad Sith to the individuals actually on the thrones. Her gaze narrowed ever so slightly as she studied them from afar, but her attention was broken by a female voice that was very close by, and Revna turned her head to see a rather tall and frankly beautiful blond woman speaking to Darth Strosius directly, correcting his term ‘concubine’ in reference to Xyrah.

So the two seated upon the thrones were married, Revna mused in thought, storing that information away into her mind as she turned to face the new-comer more directly.

She was caught by an unnatural red gaze, staring back at her intently-like how a predator might stare down its prey. Something about that gaze stirred the darkness hidden within Revna; before she had met Darth Strosius and become his pupil, she would have cowed in fear before such a sight. She would have averted her gaze and been submissive to avoid confrontation, as any good slave would have done. But she was a slave no longer. And something told her that if she showed any form of fear or uncertainty here and now, she would be eaten alive for showing such weakness.

Her mentor wasn’t training her to be weak.

She returned the gaze boldly and almost opened her mouth to introduce herself before she caught on to the fact that the words were meant for the Sith beside her. She had not risked the wrath of her teacher yet and she wasn’t about to do so by answering on his behalf. She truthfully didn’t know if he would get upset with her for speaking out of turn, but she felt it was better to be safe than sorry.

The masked man tensed up at the sound of the familiar voice, his head cocking to the side to regard the one and only Alina Tremiru with a masked glare as his shoulders grew stiff. "Oh, my apologies for the misconception." There was not a hint of remorse in his words of course, but there was plenty of sarcasm and venom to make up for it. "I care not for the inner workings nor the labels that the Kainate busies itself with. I prefer to keep good company, unlike some people." Of course the newest servant of the Kainites would be here to flaunt her position, it came with the territory he supposed.

As the other Sangnir's gaze turned to his apprentice and Revna straightened up in return, Darth Strosius extended an arm out behind her back as his other hand gestured towards her. There was no touch, but if he needed to pull her out of the way for whatever reason then he was clearly setting up to do so. Just in case. "This is Acolyte Revna, the newest of my retinue." He didn't care for the look that the other Sith was giving his apprentice, not one bit.

"Acolyte," He then gestured back at Alina as his masked gaze shifted back to Revna. "This is...Lady Tremiru. She's the governor of the Kainite occupied world of Dromund Kaas..." Darth Strosius knew that he should be putting on a more professional disposition in order to show the younger Sith how to act during events like this, but he couldn't but give Alina a side eyed glance as he continued. "...For now."

He then straightened up himself, idly rollong his shoulders and smoothing out his robes with one od his hands in order to try and calm his growing frustration. "And here I thought that you weren't a fan of parties Alina. I figured this little get-together of Xyrah's would be below you, but I suppose getting in good with your master's husband makes your own position more favorable yes?"

Ansisa gave Firrerreo an up down sweeping glance as he approached her, her tongue clicking in slight annoyance that he hadn't really tried, where as she had been made to go all out. She sniffed at his comment, plucking a piece of fluff from her dress before looking up at him.

"I live for these events, Firrerreo. I love nothing more than to listen to our Lords and Master blow smoke up each others backsides, while sharpening the blades to drive between their ribs." Her voice oozed with sarcasm but was low enough that none of those Lords or Masters would actually hear her complaint.

Her nails drummed impatiently against the wince glass she held. "I'd rather fight a leviathan than be here, but, if its what we must do to be noticed and accepted as apprentices, then it is what we must do."

'Twas the Season.

At least—That was what her former master had always intoned when she'd inquired about the unusually large number of celebrations before, during, and/or after the Solstice. It was supposed to be a time of self-reflection and renewal but she assumed that meant something entirely different to the Sith Order. She arrived at the behest of a gold-inlaid invitation that had been presented to her husband through a private courier. To deny it, even politely, would have been an insult.

Darth Carnifex was one of the few who she held close as the Order grew and waned with the tides. Certainly, she'd not deny one of his wives unless the circumstances were dire. Saryn Zambrano had always been pleasant in her presence and had graciously overlooked it when Srina had, at least, been partially responsible for the destruction of their grand space yacht. Rather than to wear red as she had on Korriban she chose a soft emerald-blue. It was threaded with gold to honor the "Golden City" and matching accessories left her a fitting member of the upper echelon of Sith society.

Did it make her a fitting consort to the Sith Emperor?

Not in the slightest.

Darth Empyrean was darkness personified, imperial, but with a certain disinterested regality that few could claim with any measure of success. His wife was not one of them. Srina had been born of common blood and had been raised until adulthood to serve as the Six Sisters required. Whether it was to be a soldier or to follow the former Queen of Eshan ( Spencer Varanin ) mattered very little. It had been her duty to serve her betters, to ensure, the supremacy of Echani warriors. Life had taken a shift.

No longer was she expected to serve, however, she remained a servant all the same. A loyal and adoring wife, a mother to all Sith, wayward and beyond, a lover to the dark, and the list went on and on, only to culminate in what was considered the ultimate expression of her being: the Dread Queen. That piece of her is what allowed the seemingly young woman to stand at the side of her husband with ease. They appeared as opposites. Light and dark. Life and death. Beauty and beast. Tranquility and violence…

But…They were one.

Srina recognized a few faces as they entered the gilded hall with a traditional retinue that effectively drowned the royal pair in a sea of blood-red warriors. It wasn't as if they were required. Not at all. Both Empyrean and his wife could more than handle their own, but it wasn't a display of force. It was an expression of Sith Tradition. "I shall endeavor, my beloved, not to…cause a disturbance."

This time.

It seemed with unparalleled regularity that her presence caused incidents of galactic proportions. She was not as receptive to social graces as some might assume and it often led to discordant opinions and eventual conflict. Srina, spoke truth. At all times. This fact often disturbed those who were unaccustomed to hearing it and favored blind adulation instead. There was no crown on her head. No scepter in hand…No sign that she was anything, but, the plus one of a King.

But…There was something.

The scent of jasmine and rain that always heralded her arrival, cloying, and perhaps intensely distracting for those that didn't realize what it was. It held the ability to both lull those around her and draw them in without words being spoken. It was power in its purest form while it echoed from an all too mortal frame. She was a vision of beauty whilst her husband was a walking nightmare. Both, steeped in strength and authority. Her fingers had curled in the hand of Darth Empyrean that she could safely hold and she inclined her head to both Saryn Zambrano and Darth Carnifex when the time came.

"…We give thanks for your gracious invitation…"

Srina was not unaware of the shifting allegiances and political games that would likely ensue but for the most part she paid them little mind. Their presence at this event added an extra layer of recognition and prestige to an already extravagant celebration. It was a powerful testament to the unity and strength that could be found within the Sith Order.

If only one took a moment to see it.

Electric golden eyes switched between Saryn Zambrano and Darth Carnifex without fear or apprehension. For Kaine…There was a certain softness that would show itself before disappearing as if it had never been. The twice-crowned former Sith Emperor knew how she felt without needing to be told. Like all parties however, usually, those thrown by opposing factions—There was always a chance that it was an elaborate ruse to behead either one or both of them. Or the chance that someone might use the opportunity for when their guard was decidedly down… It depended on the day, whom had a bounty out on their heads, and whoever might be bold enough to try and collect. But…Srina hoped that wouldn't be the case.

At least not before the witching hour.

She wanted to enjoy at least one dance with her husband in peace.

 

[Darth Carnifex]

Darth Carnifex; Dark Lord of the Kainate, Butcher King, Black Iron Tyrant, and Lord of Domination, watched as the myriad of guests began to arrive through the gilded doors. He was seated upon the highest throne, befitting His station, and was attended to by a veritable army of servants. Those that attended Him were unmarred, unblemished by cybernetics or physical deformity. The servers and servants down below, however, were distinctly Decraniated. Such was the tradition of the Zambrano family, although few would know that such tradition only ran back about fifty years or so.

The Dark Lord swirled a glass of red wine in His hand, a vintage of His homeworld made from the berries that once grew in the fertile fields and valleys of the Lasian Riverlands. But now, Panatha was no more. Fortunately, the Dark Lord possessed the foresight to ensure that much of His homeworld's flora and fauna were sampled and replicated. This particularly vintage, however, was a survivor from the original berries that had been aged on Panatha itself. He swirled the glass again before taking a sip, allowing the robust flavor to cascade over His tongue and slip down His throat. It was quite delicious, although stronger than most wines.

"Quite the motley assortment," rumbled the Dark Lord, in reference to the attendees of the party. "But such could be said about the Order itself." Another sip. One of His attendants moved to refill His glass, which the Dark Lord allowed. The servant was careful, very careful, to not allow any to spill. It was considered highly sacrilegious to allow this wine from Panatha to go wasted, and the Dark Lord meted out punishment by pain of death for such transgressions. Fortunately, the servant had steady hands, and did not spill a drop. They retreated back once the Dark Lord's cup was refilled, and stood in fearful silence.

"Ah, here they are." His eyes fell upon the Emperor and Empress. Lady Talon, as usual, looked absolutely radiant in her emerald-blue dress, threaded with gold filigree. The dichotomy between the Emperor and Empress did not escape the Dark Lord, as where Darth Empyrean was might and authority, Srina Talon was temperance and mercy. She could be merciful on his behalf, so that the Emperor could retain the appearance of strength and viciousness. It was a classic ploy, one He'd made use of many times. In fact, Xyrah fulfilled that role even now. The softer Queen of Eliad could be merciful when the Butcher King was not.

Carnifex stood and raised His glass to the pair as they entered, a knowing look spared between Himself and the Empress Talon. It left as quickly as it came. Then, the Dark Lord took another sip and settled back onto His throne. "This will be quite an eventful evening."

Another celebration, another party. Gerwald found that no matter where he settled there was always celebrations of various kinds to be had. None of them compared to the rowdy and boisterous festivities which took place on Stewjon. The people he had been raised with never missed an opportunity to break out the mead and roast whatever game happened to be killed that season. He missed them at times, and mostly because the attire was more comfortable.

He pulled at his neckline, almost incessantly. The tie was not comfortable, and the color of the suit was a lot lighter than he preferred. It had been a long time since he had been seen in a light gray. Tonight he had pulled it out at the behest of his mate, Naedira Darcrath . The tie, it had also been her idea in the form of a gift. He had no idea how to tie it for himself, so the wolf did something he loathed to do, as he offered the tie back to Nae.

“Help?”

Gerwald only hoped this event would be more peaceful than the last two parties he had attended. Their host, she had hosted before. The ship had seen a lot of damage. A battle which had ensued as a result of one arrogant and pretentious family decimated the main area where the event had been held. Gerwald had been without Naedira, at least she had not been awake then. His memory of it would no doubt find its way into her mind, though it would not need to if they were also thinking about their time on Korriban.

That party had been something it never should have been, at least as far as the wolf had been concerned. He had been conflicted on the need to incorporate the ritual with such a public display. The sacrifice of souls to feed the magic of the planet could have been done elsewhere, without the presence of so many witnesses. Gerwald still bore the scars of where Srina Talon had taken his blood to add to her own, to Naedira's, to Empyrean's, to all that had offered their life source for Korriban instead.

Gerwald deeply wished this party would not devolve into petty divisions and ritualistic violence. The Sith had many other nights to choose from for such things. For once, just maybe, they could rally around the emperor and the empire itself.

Tonight they could be one.

Unified.

Everything Gerwald now did, he did to serve that singular purpose. His life had been consumed so long with the need to keep his promise to Naedira and bring her back. She was alive, and while it had been very different from what he had imagined, parts of it had been exactly what he had hoped for. They were together. Even if it were his memories or his essence that had made it necessary, Naedira had still chosen to remain. Together, they would see the empire become something to be proud of. It could be a cause for them to rally to.

That meant wearing a tie, or so Gerwald had been told. Had it been up to him he would have left it off and allowed his neck to breathe. The silk was restrictive, even if Naedira thought he looked good in it. He would never understand the need for such fabric. It seemed a waste and a nothing more than unnecessary torture. Still, the wolf wore it, and the suit, because the benefit of having Naedira on his arm, and in his arms, for the evening made it all worth it.

Propriety demanded they greet their hosts first. They waited their turn in the procession which seemed to place them directly behind Srina Talon and Darth Empyrean . Gerwald was his hound after all, or so that is what all of them wanted the Empire to think. In truth, the wolf never left the service of his Echani mistress. His life debt to her demanded his allegiance and her kindness to him had earned his loyalty. Soon after the divine couple offered their gratitude, Gerwald stepped forward toward Saryn Zambrano to offer his own.

"We wish to extend our thanksgiving as well," he said as he raised from a bow. "Your palace is exquisite and the grounds are beautiful. We shall endeavor to keep it that way this time."

A little humor was needed perhaps, and the wolf hoped the woman took it as the jest it was given in. Naturally he would wait for Naedira to offer whatever platitudes she wished. Likely her words would be more polished and diplomatic than his. Gerwald would always be a warrior before he was a politician, and while he was more practiced at the art, Naedira had always come more natural to it.

She was a master.

They would turn away to dance. Gerwald had no need to remind the woman of the lie he had told, nor her quick retort. Knowing that she was his to dance with had eliminated the need to create some measure of distance between them. That night they had danced for the first time only awakened the truth that had been buried inside of him. Gerwald knew he loved Naedira. She had not been his then, though perhaps that had been his own fault. None of that mattered now. The auburn haired woman was in his arms, and for a few moments she would be the only one in the room to him.

"I have a gift for you when we return to Jutrand."

The wolf was always giving Naedira gifts. Perhaps it was because he was making up for lost time. Maybe he was trying to keep the she-wolf content. Either way, Gerwald enjoyed lavishing Naedira with whatever he found might please her. He loved her after all, and he had to find some way to show it without driving the wolf inside the woman to attempt another shift Naedira could not make.

This was another reason they needed to attend the party. Naedira had to practice control, and she needed to trust herself around people. This afforded her the opportunity to develop both. Gerwald's motivations were not completely unselfish, but they were genuine and altruistic.

"And maybe if all goes well… we may see about a more private celebration of our own.”

Alina kept the acolyte's gaze only for a moment longer before her expression softened. Not really softened so much as the deadly intent behind them simply ceased.

"She's got some fire it seems. Surprising." Then again, there was still so much she didn't know about Alisteri and who he was these days. How much fire he'd gotten himself. Though, how openly he spoke his disdain for their current host said much. Though her brow did twitch slightly. "The Kainite's do not occupy the Holy Worlds any longer, Lord Strosius. The transfer has been completed. Dromund Kaas is my world to rule by the will of our Emperor."

The torture that doubled as training by Darth Carnifex had changed her. Confidence oozed from her almost unnaturally as she let her gaze focus on him.

"Asides, I wouldn't miss a party of a friend. Especially if it means Quinn will attend."

"I don't think you or I could survive a Leviathan, you know. Unless you're saying you'd rather spend an eternity in one of those blister traps than stay here any longer." That was the blunt truth. A Leviathan would be among the apex of Sithspawn, at least in Firrerreo's mind. If he could craft one, perhaps that would be a sign of his own skill.

Perhaps he should start his own designs.

"I suppose trying to sell yourself to a Master with your regality is better than trying to with your skills, given our last failure."

Ansisa's gaze swept the new arrivals, paying cloae attention to who was talking to who. "I dislike the term 'sell myself'." She replied, without looking at him. "I'm merely a student seeking a teacher, preferably one that isn't a kainite."

Her gaze breifly swept over the figures of Darth Carnifex and Saryn Zambrano reclined on their thrones. Her gaze did not linger, she did not wish to draw their attention.

"Do you have a preference, Firrerreo ? Or are you content to find any master, regardless of their failings?"

Revna continued to hold the blond woman’s gaze, sensing the tension from her mentor as he replied in a sarcastic, venom-laced tone that the little woman found more amusing than anything. She pulled her arms behind her back as Darth Strosius introduced her to the blond Sith, and Revna inclined her head in a small bow.

“A…pleasure to meet you, Lady Tremiru.” she greeted respectfully, though her voice held a slight edge to it. She and the Sith woman held each other’s gazes for a moment longer, before the lethal glint melted away and Lady Tremiru turned her unnatural red eyes back to Darth Strosius. The little woman let out an internal sigh of relief and allowed the tension that had coiled within her to release slowly, though she didn’t dare let her guard down. She listened as the two exchanged words, raising her eyebrow slightly when her mentor was referred to as ‘Lord Strosius’; she hadn’t heard him referred to in such a manner before…but she knew that occasions such as this warranted such title usage.

She let her gaze wander around the grand chamber once more, noting the newcomers to the party. Then she felt a shift in the energy and the presence of the Dark side seemed to swell, just as two individuals made their appearance into the throne chamber, immediately catching her attention.

The woman she noticed first; possibly one of the most beautiful she’d ever laid eyes on. Fair skinned, platinum blond hair that seemed almost spun of the purest silver, dressed in regalia that complimented her beauty wonderfully. At the woman’s side, however…was the opposite of beauty. And it was from him that she was sensing the tide of dark power. It was like looking at the Darkness itself. Truly terrifying…and awe-inspiring for the young Acolyte.

Who were they? She wondered silently to herself as she tilted her head in observance of the pair of Sith as they made their way towards the thrones and those seated upon them. Others entered into the throne chamber behind the pair, but Revna barely registered them, so intent was her gaze upon the other two.

Reluctantly, she tore her gaze from the pair of Sith and cast a brief glance at Lady Tremiru before turning her attentive eyes to her mentor. She waited for a pause in their conversation before interjecting herself.

“Forgive my interruption…but who are they?” the little woman asked Darth Strosius in a low voice so only he and Lady Tremiru could hear her, gesturing with her gaze to the beautiful woman and the…man…beside her. “I sense…power from them. Both of them.”

"A student wouldn't dress themselves up like a baker icing a cake for the sales floor."

He followed her gaze, briefly. The great masters of this event if he heard correctly. While he hadn't chosen to dress up, he did at least make sure he had his best normal robe on. The last thing he wanted was to make an unintended insult.

Which, who knew what could be an insult with these other cultures, truly.

"I am indifferent if it means I can continue my progress to perfect my craft. The more they can provide, the better. But I am not picky, no. You?"

Darth Strosius couldn't help the scoff and eyeroll that escaped him as Alina reaffirmed her control over Dromund Kaas. Her confidence made him wonder if she truly believed that it was actually hers to rule over, or if she had simply gotten better at putting on such a display. Regardless he knew the truth, that a single word from either of the tyrants would be enough to uproot her and all that she had built from the ancient capital world. No matter what she told herself. "As you say." He responded with a shrug as he crossed his arms.

His head tilted up slightly at the mention of Quinn's name, a little chuckle leaving him as he nodded. "Oh I see. So not only do you get to grovel before Xyrah and Carnifex, but your precious little Quinn might show up as well? No wonder you couldn't resist attending." Right as he was about to continue in his biting tone, he sensed a disturbance that caused his attention to snap over to the pair now addressing the enthroned hosts. The masked man felt his fingers dig into his arms as they attempted to clench into fists out of sheer reflex, a snarl adorning his hidden features as his eyes narrowed.

Thankfully Revna's voice gave him enough of a distraction to reign himself in and hide the growl that threatened to leave his throat in a small cough. "That would be the self proclaimed 'Sith Emperor' himself Acolyte, Empyrean." There was no attempt to hide the venom in his low voice this time. "As for the woman at his side, that must be..." He faltered. For all his training underneath the Lady of Assassins, the affairs of his foes were never of interest to him. He didn't even know the name of Empyrean's wife-

"Srina Talon, his wife." The unfamiliar name came out of his mouth so naturally and casually despite him not consciously saying it. He shook his head for a moment to try and clear his mind of the familiar yet very unwelcome presence that had made itself known once more, briefly pressing a hand to his forehead before he recomposed himself. "I suppose they couldn't resist the call of the Kainites either. How fitting."
