Faction Issue # 1 - Arrival at the Praxeum [NJP/ Open to All Jedi]

Kael smiled in a little bit of a half smirk with a questionable demeanor about him. What did she mean? Test him? He was ready for anything. He finally had a Master, now the tests were to commence. He drank a swig from his glass.
"Bring it Master, I will show you what I'm made of."

She raised an eyebrow and spoke for a moment as she held a finger up for a moment. Her hand directing and bringing some of the food as she looked at it and pulled with her fingers enclosing over a strand of silver hair. Katarine Ryiah may need to check for some grays if she wasn't careful. The jedi grandmaster holding it for a moment aas she focused on it with the force and it straightened, strengthening while the force wrapped energy around it in a ta-ree spell. She would have encased her finger but she wasn't to be fair while holding it and it was like a small baton while she was looking at him. "Are you sure?" She asked with a look and held it with the force out and around while she was flinging it in different arcs to try and give him something to dodge.

Kael Venn didn’t answer her immediately.
The moment the silver strand lifted and stiffened under the Force, his posture shifted—subtle, but deliberate. His weight settled into the balls of his feet, shoulders loosening beneath the dark folds of his robe. Bright blue eyes tracked the motion, not the object itself, but the intent behind it.

The first arc came fast.
Kael tilted his head just enough for the makeshift baton to whisper past his temple. A second followed—lower. He pivoted on one foot, the movement economical, controlled. No wasted motion. No panic.

Then he spoke.
“Am I sure?” His voice was calm, edged with something steadier than confidence—certainty. “You’re not testing my reflexes, Master… you’re testing my focus.”
Another flick of her hand sent the strand curving unpredictably. This time he didn’t dodge immediately. He watched—felt it—then stepped inside its path at the last possible second, letting it pass behind his shoulder instead of away from it.
A risk.
Intentional.
His gaze lifted to meet hers directly now.
“You’re trying to see if I react…” he continued, breath even, “…or if I understand.”

The next strike came sharper—faster.
Kael raised his hand, not to block, but to intercept the flow of motion itself. The Force brushed outward from his palm, not overpowering hers, but redirecting—just enough to send the silver strand veering off course.

He lowered his hand slowly.
“I don’t need to be faster than it,” he said quietly. “Just more aware than the person controlling it.”
A faint smirk touched the corner of his mouth—respectful, but unmistakably there.

Oryn had never heard of Niv Hani, but he nodded anyway. Someone's origin was something to be respected. "High Republic" he said in return, matching the other Jedi's brevity.

"Nice to meet you both. Will you be settling here, or just visiting?" Oryn said. His smile came easy, drinking in the positivity radiating from the excitable Wookie. He'd never conversed with a Wookie before, though the translator droid removed any complication he had anticipated.

"I could eat." though saying that, he had no clue where they were serving food. He had no idea where anything was on this world to be fair.

"Oh?" SHe looked at him and raised a small eyebrow for a moment. "That is certainly a way to look at it. Though being aware of the master Katarine Ryiah gray hairs might be a little out there. If you mean the control one is using then it can different from jedi to jedi. A skilled warrior might use telekinesis where a talented one might use the force to imbue it so that the surface it returns to their palm." SHe didn't need to move from where she was though. "And there are others still who might simple manipulate the molecules of it at a scale one can rarely detect." Her interest came as she spoke with a small interest. "And there are always new things that we are learning. Even the most experienced master should look at the forces mysteries with wonder." She remained there. "Now focus before I fill your mouth with hot sauces with my brain."

Kael smirked with a slight chuckle underneath. Master Ike was funny, but still stern at the same time. She knew when to joke and when to be serious, he was glad she was his Master, he couldn't imagine anyone else at that point to teach him. "Yes Master."
He began to focus with his eyes closed in a meditative stance. He could see the force signature from his Master who was in front of him, it wasn't a clear visual. It was like an echo. Everything was black except for a white silhouette in the shape of a woman. The force was giving him sight even though his eyes were shut. "I can see.."

"Griworiii Garriii Arggiii Hrrnnnngh… raaahh wrrroo ghrrr kaaah Ghhrrr wraaa rrrnnn!"

[I've been working with The New Jedi Order on Naboo, but I will be staying here to train as well. I think it's useful to travel to all of the enclaves to receive a wider type of instruction, and to join as many Jedi groups as I can.] The droid wheezed out the translation as Kuhbee grinned and bounced on his feet, so full of energy.

He too noticed the girl standing off to the side and waved excitedly at her, before leading the way to the brunch buffet that had been put out for the meeting. Kuhbee took a plate with enthusiasm and started to put food on it, his stomach already rumbling!

She nodded while moving on the floor with a small glide. her movements were slower by design to let him follow but she was also not disturbing the air. Outside the molecules she was shifting and gliding through before she spoke. Her finger directing the strand of hair in its arcs around him. "And what is it that you are seeing?" She was curious but moved as her hands were behind her back more like she was ice skating on the floor. Backwards and to the side around the padawan with some of the food coming to her so she could suspend it and observe it there. "Hmmm" She took a bite though with the look of amusement on her face until she looked at Aris Noble who had his little padawan pack forming around him... he was still a mountain but that was good and helpful.

Kael still sat there, eyes shut, and let the force guide him.
"I see you going around me with your hands behind your back." I also see the strands of hair surrounding me." His head tracked her and the strands of hair each time they made their moves.
It was truly amazing at how the force even worked within the galaxy, no one quite understood it, not really. Even the wisest Jedi truly don't know the inner workings of the force and what it all wants its inhabitants to see and feel. Kael had much to learn, and this was the first step into learning the ways of the force.

She gave a nod to that. "Good but can you bring the force to yourself at will? Orr is it still only on occasion?" She was interested in hearing him as he seemed to be learning it faster then expected but she liked it. "You will want to be able to sense and move around when traveling. There are older worlds and planes that the jedi do not normally go to." She said it with a smile on her face when she still moved around effortlessly in her hover but she swept in closer. "It will also help as I rarely bring a lightsaber around and padawans are expected to babysit." She said the last as a joke... her ten children could take care of themselves. Hanae had proven that at the expo when she might have broken physics with all of thaat sugar in a drink.

Kael smiled again trying not to laugh at the babysitting comment. "I can use the force at will, however, my hold of it is amplified with higher emotions." He demonstrated by force pulling a pastry out of his Masters hand right before she was able to take a bite. He smiled again and then taking a bite of it himself. "I understand, Master. I am willing to learn everything I can from your teachings"

She raised an eyebrow as he was taking the food out of the air and held a finger up. The molecules stacking, shaping and forming another in frront of her while she broke a piece off with a look. "If you are hungry there is more then enough." She said it while reforming but took a bite. "Hmm it is good." Her interest was there as she moved into one place. "And how long are you able to maintain the force padawan?" SHe said it with a curiosity to him now. He seemed lost at first but now he was coming out of his shell so that was a helpful part for her.

He had a look of certainty on his face as he took a bite of another item from the plate. It was delicious. Once he was finished eating it, he began to answer the question. "I can't maintain it for very long. I can use it to jump as much as I want, but bigger affected actions such as pushing or pulling takes it much more out of me, it's like an over exertion of energy and will make me pass out from it."

He hated that restriction, but he felt like most padawans were like that. The force wasn't easy to wield. If it was, there would be so many more users of it. He was hopeful that as he grew to understand the force and how to properly wield it as a Jedi, that he wouldn't be bogged down by that limitation for much longer.

novac arriving later then most. looks around, feeling quite hopeful. has he finally found a place he'll fit in. he notices as usual he stands out quite a bit, but in a place like this it shouldn't matter to much. he begins to wander around a bit, unsure of what to do, who to talk to. but excited nonetheless

She gave a nod of her head to that. "I see." She said it and the limitations was something that she remembered easily but there was more to it with a look. She moved raising up into the air. "Jumping like this?" She gave a small look for a moment but made herself weightless in the room to hover around. Gliding through the molecules for a moment as it didn't disturb the room before she was holding there for a moment. as someone else came in and spoke with a small look. "Welcome." The padawan seemed confused maybe lost but that was fine he was here among the people as she adjusted a little for a moment but twisted in the air. "I am Masterr Ike. Who are you?" She said it while she was moving around forr Kael to be able to folow and move with.

Kael matched her movements with pristine easy accuracy. He began hovering around the room on her same path trailing right beside her. "Yes, just like this. It allows me to reach very elevated places a regular civilian wouldn't be able to." He said loudly as they were both gliding in the air. As they were doing that, another Jedi showed up, not an experienced one like Master Ike, but more like Kael. He could sense it in the force as he glided in the air.

"i am novac, novac lyrikal. im new to this place, its my first time ever being here. but i heard that this place was open to jedi." he says while watching her float above him. to be able to do as effortlessly as she seems to is impressive, his master can do that, as far as he knows at least. perhaps his master was right and theres much more he could learn here
