OBJECTIVE: BYOO - Gaddamoku Boogaloo

EQUIPMENT: Standard Kit on CS, except for New Beskar'gam (Factory Post Pending)

"I hear those fekking Mandos are coming our way."

"Ye, that makes you shake in yer boots then, eh?"

A pair of thugs, one a Weequay, and one a Twi’lek, were conversing with each other as they patrolled the back alleys of level 62. From what Faison could tell, he thought he recognized the Twi’lek as a lowlife enforcer under the employ of Gaddamoku, but that was more from the tone of his voice than the look of his features. The Mandalorian was pressed against the corner of a building’s backside, with the pair of thugs approaching him down the alley. His rifle was slung across his back, and his blasters holsters at his side.

He was ready for them though. As they rounded the corner, his right hand swung around his torso, a six-inch blade instantly protruding from his gauntlet as it connected with the Weequay - puncturing his neck in one fluid motion. The momentum of his opening attack swung him around, which provided more than enough force behind his left elbow as it connected with the Twi'lek's windpipe. As he swung around, the blade in his right gauntlet retracted again before he rushed up and lashed out with his knee into the Twi'lek's solar plexus.

The enforcer keeled over, gasped for breath & fell over at the same time as Faison reached down and picked up the blaster the Twi'lek was holding moments earlier. The Mandalorian inspected the weapon casually; checking the sights along the barrel and surmising its weight in his hands.
"Looks like you're moving up in the world Baka. You have a piece that could actually kill something." The Twi'lek, 'Baka' let out a guttural cough before spitting rather... viscously off to to the side.

"Is that... you Faison? What the f---" Baka's words were cut off by the butt of his blaster crashing across his face. The Twi'lek keeled over, faceplanting on the durasteel paneling with an audible groan. Faison ejected the power cell of the blaster, dropped it to the ground, then tossed the cell to the other side of the alley. He then crouched down as he picked up Baka, helping him sit with his back against the wall.

"It doesn't matter what I'm doing here. It matters where 'Moku is. He still at his hideout on level 60?"

"If... if you already know, then why are you asking?"

Faison chuckled to himself before grasping the Twi’lek by the collar of his shirt and lifting him up from his seated position and well above his feet. Eyes met tinted visor, with a moment of silence prevailing. Eventually, Faison broke the silence. ”Well?”

”Y-yeah, he’s at his hideout on level 60. S-s-so what?”

”So... how many guards does he have? Is he planning on leaving the city? I need details. Or do I need to reacquaint you with your blaster...?”

Baka squirmed uncomfortably in Faison’s grip as he replied with a progressively more apparent stammer: ”N-No, that’s n-n-n-not necessary. H-he's packing up all his s-s-s-stuffff you know h-how he is! T-t-there's maybe... oh, probably... 20 guys there, g-give or t-t-t-ake." Faison glared at Baka from behind his helmet for a long while again, which only served to unnerve the Twi'lek even more. Finally, he slowly lowered the hapless thug to rest at his feet and released his vice-like grip on the bruised form before him.

Faison patted Baka on the shoulder, then said in a grateful tone:
"I knew you wouldn't let me down, Baka. As a sign of my appreciation, and for 'old times' sake, I'll give you a head start." The Twi'lek began to visibly calm down until mention of a 'head start'. A question hung on his lips, but it was bated by an armored finger on his lips, along with a loud Shush. Faison tilted his head appraisingly, after which he nodded to the mouth of the alley.

He hardly had to say anything else before the Twi'lek darted away, nearly falling over as he raced to place as much distance between himself and the Mandalorian. Faison paused for a moment as he watched the Twi'lek run away, before heading in the opposite direction. No need for unnecessary bloodshed. There would be enough of the necessary variety soon enough

Objective: Bring Kaddak into the Enclave
Tag: Talohn Atar Talohn Atar | Zlova Rue Zlova Rue | OPEN

Romul Saxon had journeyed to half a hundred star systems across the galaxy. Scorching deserts, treacherous jungles, endless cityscapes. But never had his travels or journeys brought to him to the world of Kaddak, though it would not be the first cesspool of criminal scum he'd been too. It was sparsely populated at best, a footnote in a region of the galaxy that was backwater to the important and famous star systems which galactic events seemed to revolve around. Yet Kaddak set on the doorstep of Enclave space, and if the Quartermaster's dream of a new sector of space for Mandalorians was to bear any fruit, worlds like Kaddak need be pacified.

The Warmaster of the Enclave stood tall and resplendent in his gold-and-crimson armor, a relic from the glory of Mandalore past. The paint was faded and metal scars could be seen in the beskar where munitions, lightsabers and trauma had taken their toll. Romul's proud helm, however, was held at his side, revealing the weathered, creased face of the aging veteran warrior underneath. He had come not as a conqueror, but as an envoy of friendship, cooperation, and mutualism with what Kaddak could excuse for a government, bearing the promise of a world freed from criminal oppression. The hunters of the Enclave were in the lower levels of the city actively making good on that promise, he knew, but it was his job to turn those actions into results.

He was not alone; a Catharese and Twi'lek, among others, accompanied him, though he did not know them well. The Twi'lek he felt an instinctual mistrust for, the black Sith tattoos on her unusual-red skin. But she had been vouched for by the Quartermaster, so Romul had put aside his mistrust, though it lay buried close enough to unearth should the Twi'lek ever prove to be unfaithful. There were more important matters, though; specifically, convincing these 'Spiremasters' that their best chance at a free and civilized world was handing it over to a culture that for the most part only knew war and death.

He'd watch his companion advance on the 'Depot' while he remained in cover. Between Sasha Kryze Sasha Kryze and the Pred-X Droid under her control Garrus was sure that they could clear any lookouts they encountered. Crouched down he remained out of sight for a silent count only known to himself, when the count reached zero he went into action.

Rising from cover Garrus moved in, walking one foot over the other just as he had been during the initial approach and raising his Blaster Rifle. As he advanced Garrus singled out a two man patrol that was walking a standard pattern around several of the containers that seemed to fil lthe 'Depot'. When he came in range, Blaster Rifle already raised and sunk into the crevice of his shoulder he'd fire. The Blaster Rifle was semi-automatic, not nearly as advanced as the arms that Sasha was carrying but still powerful; a shot that landed dead center dropped the first target and two shots in quick succession dropped the second as he was taken by surprise.

When Garrus came closer to either downed man he delivered another shot in quick succession, ensuring they were both eliminated. The Mandalorian checked his HUD then, training his Blaster Rifle ahead before he moved into the Containers, stacked on top of one another as much as three high in some cases and creating a small maze of makeshift corridors that Garrus needed to navigate.

As he came around a corner he came face to face with another defender, he reached for a blaster pistol on his hip but Garrus, turning the Blaster Rifle across his chest delivered a check to knock the man backwards before leveling his weapon and firing a shot into his abdomen and then another higher on his chest. Another one down.

He heard some commotion as he passed through the stacks of containers, checking a corner he saw several security personal on route to another location, running quickly. The Mandalorian stayed out of sight long enough for them all to rush past then he saw it. Beyond the stacks the men were running towards a vehicle, a K79-S80 ITT Troop Transport.

Apparently Sasha hadn't exaggerated the 'Foot Traffic' and 'Heavy Security' in her report.

The Old Warrior waited, watching as the men moved towards the Transport to load onto it while the repulsors powering it began to charge. Several of them would ride on the exterior, climbing onto empty space reserved for cargo. When Garrus emerged he'd advance on the ITT while firing his Blaster Rifle, his first shot landed clean dropping its target who fell off the side of the Transport, another struck the armored plating of the vehicle doing nothing. By then calls and comms chatter between the men alerted them to their attacker and they'd begin firing on Garrus, some of them climbing onto the roof of the Transport to shoot at the Mandalorian from a prone position.

Blaster shots ricochetted off Garrus Beskgar'gam causing the Warrior to stumble briefly but he pushed forward knowing he had to make distance on the ITT before it became mobile. More blaster fire streaked past him, some glanced off his armor or ripped through the cloak he was still wearing. Finally he'd come within range...

"Oya!"

...cracked over the comms, Sasha would have heard it from where she was inside one of the Barracks. The Blaster Rifle held by Garrus swung down then, sweeping past his hip as he lowered it and maintained his hold with his right hand. As he did that the Warrior would raise his left arm, thrusting it forward at the same time and firing the Micro Grenade Launcher integrated into the left arm of his armor. Firing two of the grenades, one exploded on the exterior of the ITT causing it to rock and sending shrapnel flying while the other landed beneath the rear repulsor, exploding upwards and causing a chain reaction that detonated the power cell of the vehicle.

The explosion immense, Garrus shielded himself with his left arm after firing the two grenades from the micro launcher while the husk of the IFF sunk over the ground and thick black smoke billowed upwards.

There was no hiding the attack now...

Sasha was quick, and precise with the killings. Showing no remorse to those that would assist the Hutts in their thievery. However she did hesitate on the last individual, 'swimming' in a pool of the blood that was quickly starting to pool across the entire floor. She approached, hearing him mutter something along the lines of mercy. Though it was garbled in his death woes.

"Its right here..."

Her modulated voice was audible to him briefly before she delivered the killing shot.

THUD.

The spent casing bounced off the wall, and harmlessly off of her helmet before rolling onto the ground with a telltale clatter. Taking one last gander at the room, she moved to further assist with the assault. Her heart thudding with anticipation. She couldn't even remember when she became this person, but the shift was so slight... So passive, that by the time she had truly become a killer, it was just life to her. Or business.. It didn't matter in the end. There was just a rush that came with being the victor, and she couldn't help but chase it down.

She had once mused whether or not she was an evil woman, but knew these same people she delivered death too had done the same. Or at least that's what she told herself. Those that ran in these circles laughed when they were dealing the pain, then begged for that final chance to finally change their lives around when they were on the receiving end...

Buskayu'agr cuyir a sribitadir

It was a phrase that was burned into her mind ever since she was fourteen years old. There was a price to be paid for every action, and she felt it true even for herself one day. Every person she had returned to the dust... One day, she would pay for it... However that was not today...

Moving back outside, she quickly raised the weapon firing two short bursts at separate individuals. The AP rounds were devastating, and gave the desired effect. Sure, Blaster Bolts were the future, but they didn't bring the terror she wanted to bring her enemies. She wanted them to see their fluids on the ground... Wanted them to be sprayed with the blood of the dead. That was terror, an old terror from darker times.

His comment on the comms caused her to look skywards watching as the ship went up like multiple Thermal Detonators; she dived for cover, a large chunk of the ship landing hard behind her. For a moment she wouldn't move, covering what bits of her were unarmored as shrapnel, and debris rained down.

Some moments would pass, and she pushed out from her hiding position between the containers, weapon scanning her vectors as she pushed back towards Garrus, and their target. She wanted to get her hands on that Hutt...

When she rounded the corner, she laid her eyes on his visage, and lowered her weapon for a moment, immediately rising it again and firing a single shot in Garrus Garon Garrus Garon 's direction.

It missed him of course, as he wasn't her target; but splattered the goon pushing up behind him. She maintained her gait, pointing to the main building ahead of them. It was old, built with duracrete, but held a metal frame.

When she got to the doorway, she pressed the button, but noted it had been locked down. Easy Fix.

"Hukaatir!"

She yelled out probably a little louder than she wanted too, but wanted to make sure it was heard as she was about to rest her weapon down for a moment. She went into a chest pouch, and pulled out a small orange disc, clicking it once she rested it on the ground; then used her wrist-pad to program in a simple command.

A moment would pass, and eight legs would appear from the main body of the small disc, the entire thing seeming to transform into a small Spider. It moved quickly, scaling the wall, and finding an opening on the exterior to climb into. Once done, she would reach for her weapon, but flinch away as a barrage of blaster fire rained down on that doorway. The origin? A Rotary Blaster Cannon focued on her, the fire so intense she couldn't even get a bead on the direction.

Her groans of discomfort would be audible to Garrus as she tried to near meld into the wall to avoid the shots that were coming in. Some even pinging off her armor, and causing her to growl out the light panic that was setting in.

LOCATION: Kaddak
Objective: Spiremasters
Equipment: From CS
Allies: [ Romul Saxon Romul Saxon ] [ Zlova Rue Zlova Rue ] [ Talohn Atar Talohn Atar ]

Rising onto her tip toes, Mia studied the diplomats and crime lords who had gathered to meet with them. It seemed a bit backward, to her, to be entering into negotiations even as Mandalorian’s stormed the city that glittered and glowed beneath them.

Glittered … pink.

Pink everywhere, for they stood in a vast pink Crystal, the prisms of light lending a bizarre, whimsical glow to the horrors of death and destruction released upon the city below. She shook her head sharply, reminding herself the objective was to go after the criminals, not the citizens.

Dark eyes studied those she’d come to meet, for she wore no helmet.

No Beskar.

A Fleuéline Weave kimono-style jerkin - complete with her Iron Heart - was worn over a custom woven-Nanosilk flight suit. The woven silk, elegant enough to look purely decorative, yet strong enough to double as armor. Light armor, sure, but still armor enough for her purposes.

Which was not to terrify their potential allies.

Dark hard was tucked away from a face which showed subtle evidence of healed scars and cybernetic enhancement, and she stepped forward to greet those here, in their own language. The semi-formal phrases rolled easily and lightly, though she reverted swiftly to Basic at the end.

“Hello, Spiremasters, elders and …” Well haran! She could hardly say ‘crime lords.’ “ ‘business men,’ ” despite the rewording, the faint eye roll and tone of voice easily telegraphed her meaning.

“I’m Mia Mereel, your translator! this is our Training Master, Romul Saxon. And our Enoys, Talohn Atar and Zlova Rue Atar,”

Beside her, the towering Saxon glowered at those assembled. Clad in the classical armor guaranteed to bring back every nightmare and fear ordinary people ever harbored about Mandalorians, he seemed a sword of Damocles poised over their heads. He was definitely the stick. An amused, low key, Vod, try smiling. You’re a Bu'nas'a menacing sight, even with that helm off.”

Her gaze danced over the lovely Twi’lek, eyes gleaming in delight. That lady was a Tahla'ada diplomatic genius or she’d be dead already. Only she was also covered in Sith runes, and if any of the businessmen over there knew what that meant, she’d end up being more stick than carrot, too.

But then her gaze settled upon Talohn, the friendly Cathar of House Verd. She winked at him, proud of the message he wanted to share and his courage in doing so.

The fuzzy kitty was all beskar-clad carrot today.

“it’s all you, Tiger.”

Turning back to those gathered, she prepared to translate tricky concepts in and out of Basic, Catharese, Ryl, Mando’a, Hutt’ese and the local Kaddak tongue.

About 500 meters away in a lonely bell tower from Sasha Kryze Sasha Kryze and Garrus Garon Garrus Garon , Ket was busy finishing off his lunch and picking his teeth when he saw the explosion of the ITT blast into the sky like a firebomb. "Well, there goes break..." As always, Strill had sent him out here to support the locals in doing their job in order to get those sane locals to hire him on for more jobs. Besides, who wanted to be left out at a party. The screams in celebration he heard in Mando'a meant the fight was going well atleast. Then a Rotary Blaster started up, its barrels whirring as the bolts struck the dalyc warrior. He aimed his flechette launcher and dialing in the scope on the dalyc's position, sighting in on the Nikto street thug that was having so much fun, screaming with glee at pinning down a famous Mando warrior. Well, that glee was about to change into just plain nothing.

With one smooth trigger pull, a round went right past the Kryze's mask as it waved hello before directing itself right into the Nitko's leathery skull. The Strill swore he had knocked the now lifeless body across the room with the force of his impact. There was no time to be complacent however as the merc for hire scanned the streets for more of the criminals to make into lifeless husks. By the end of all this, his kill count just might equal the same weight as the grunt's former Hutt overlord.

The Blaster Rifle raised after Garrus steadied himself following the destruction of the ITT, a bullet that whizzed past his head caused the Mandalorian to jerk his attention towards Sasha as she down the thug that had been creeping closer to him from behind. Nodding once Garrus didn't waste any time advancing on the complex that his companion had directed him towards.

Looking back around himself as he pressed forward, making a quick survey of the area Garrus noted the smoking wreckage of the ITT, the bodies that had been thrown clear during the explosion and the barracks where Sasha Kryze Sasha Kryze has cleared a majority of the security that hadn't been on duty or patrolling the premises. It had been a good day thus far, Garrus had went from drinking on the patio of a cantina to cleaning out a 'Depot' reputed to possess beskar belonging to the Mandalorian people.

He wasn't far to the rear of Sasha who had begun working on the door to the complex when the Rotary Cannon started to lay down fire. The Gunner seemed focused on Sasha, Garrus was a secondary target as he was further from the complex. Raising his Blaster Rifle the Warrior had begun to take aim so that he could lay down suppressing fire for his comrade when the shot from Ket Cros Ket Cros eliminated Nikto who had been manning the cannon. Garrus looked over his shoulder, he couldn't see the Sniper but he'd have nodded once. Overwatch was a valuable asset and the Warrior wouldn't complain if he wanted to fire a few more rounds into anyone lurking.

"Get that door open."

...came the voice of Garrus as it crackled over the comms, he wasn't sure what the purpose of that Spider was but reasoned it was a slicing tool. Regardless it meant that Sasha was on it which meant Garrus could focus on other things.

Lifting his left arm again Garrus took aim at the second floor of the building. The Micro Launcher fired two more successive bursts, the last of its payload before requiring reload. Explosions would rock the second floor, Garrus grunting over the comms a second time...

"Duck."

...as debris, duracrete and plaster rained down over their heads. The Mayhem ripping through that building and the compound of the depot were intense. A scan of the breaches punched through the level above by the grenades would reveal fading life signs. A few shots came at them, striking Garrus over the back of his shoulder pauldrons and causing him to swing around. Leftover contractors were responding now, men who were on patrol previously. The Blaster Rifle raised, Garrus fired and dropped several more bodies.

The weight of the helmet was a heavy reassurance as Aves Wren stared at the door from across the way. Her mouth was dry and she could feel herself sweating nervously. This was her first real chance to show her mettle to the Enclave, after all. Chewing on the inside of her cheek, she caught herself stalling and pushed off from her quiet corner.

"Right, it's time."

How long had she been watching it? Aves knew that was the door, but she had kept stalling, kept waiting, kept putting it off in the hopes that something would change, but nothing did.

She would have to charge in there and do it herself.

The door opened with a hiss and the music paused for a beat as she inspected the interior before entering. The cantina was a front, that much she knew. Here, free-roaming scum of all kinds liked to linger in hopes that they would get a chance to move in on a score or two. The real gangsters were in the back: Slave traders, freed from prisons by the Sith and shipped to foreign territories with a handful of credits to cause trouble.

Filth backing filth.

Aves went to the bar and confidently slid a small stack of credits across the bar toward the heavy-set rodian male on the other side. He scooped the credits up without as much as a question and put an opaque cup underneath a tap to fill with its foamy, teal liquid. Aves cursed herself for almost forgetting, but built up her nerves before speaking the supposed code that her supervisor had given her.

"I bring many gifts."

The bartender nodded in response and slid the cup over, then gestured for her to follow him to the back. Aves responded with a subtle nod and picked the cup up to carry with her. Her heart was beating, but the helmet hid the panicked expression on her face. She hid her breathing and worked the mental exercises her father had taught her to keep her mind in check

solus se'chu ehn - olan, se'chu se'chu - t'ad resol olan

The rodian stopped and looked her up and down.

Talohn allowed Mia to introduce herself and everyone else while he sorted her thoughts. There was a lot to go through after all. Not to mention, in a place like this, with the ongoing chaos below, the cathar felt quite naked without his beskar. However, it was necessary. There was now doubt those who ran the spire lived in fear under the shoe of the various criminal enterprises on the planet. The last thing he wanted was to look like he was trying to do a show of intimidation like the very criminals they were here to remove. Instead, the cathar was dressed in a simple black suit with a white button up shirt and tie. It was attire that he found on Denon, and he found it serviceable enough for formal affairs. He wasn't completely unarmed of course. He had a Veshet Repeater hidden away on his right wrist within the suit, and a wristpad on his left arm used to activate an energy shield. Talohn could never deal with being completely unarmed, but he appeared to be, which is what mattered.

Talohn smiles to Mia when she states that it's his turn to speak up. Before stepping up to the podium before the council, he addresses his three companions. "Tread careful, and keep your eyes sharp. I don't doubt that there are those out there very unhappy with this meeting, and they're not apposed to trying to stop it by any means. Mia, keep yourself in a safe spot and listen to the radio chatter for anything suspicious. Zlova, Romul, you both are our main line of defense if anything bad gets up here. Though, I don't need to tell you that. If anything goes awry, rip and tear, yeah?" Zlova would get a good luck peck on the cheek before he takes a deep breath, finally stepping up to the podium to gaze upon the council, who's gaze was equally as judging.

The cathar clears his throat once, his accented words following soon after. "Hello! As stated before, I am Talohn Atar, of both the mandalorian clan Atar, and the catharese clan Atar. We, The Enclave, have heard various speculations about why we are here. It's time to make our intentions clear, and take this heavy weight off of your minds, yea?" He grins widely with that contagious smile of his. That was part of why Talohn was good for this role. His goofy nature made him charming, it was hard to see this cat gunning down men without remorse. He was a face they could put kindness to, hopefully. "Let's not take too long. I'm sure you all want to get back to your safehouses with all this chaos about, and I promised my daughter game night." He rolls up his left sleeve to tap a few times on the screen of his touchpad before taking a small frisbee esque metallic object out of his coat. The council instantly looks uneasy. Talohn simply shakes his head. "It's a hologram projector I made. No explosives here, do not worry." he then tosses the frisbee, and it lands in the middle of the room with a slight clang before the hologram shines to life, projecting a map of the wildpsace territories.

"We are, as you know, currently within wildspace. Home to some of the most powerful and depraved criminal empires in the entire galaxy. The people and the law both live in fear of these monsters. Even the leaders are reduced to talking heads whether through forceful coercion or corruption by the hands of the syndicates." As he speaks, he points to various parts of the hologram, which bring up known gang and syndicate territories, showing just how much of wildspace is owned by criminals. "Our goal is to fix this, as you have guessed. However!" He gestures to the council members. "We value your freedom. We do not plan to break you of your chains just so that we can make you wear a different pair." He shakes his head. "The Enclave hopes to help you break the chains of your oppressors so that you may flourish under the freedom that is the right of every society to have." He states, gesturing broadly with an arm outwards towards the sky. "What we are doing here is only a start, initial cleanup to make what we want to do with you possible. What we have is not a command, it is an offer." He pounds his chest once, a respectful gesture amongst the catharse, a warm smile on his face all the while. "The enclave wishes to provide you protection while you build up militias, armies resistances, so that YOU may break the chains that hold you down. We will aid you in building yourselves up. Then, when the time comes, we will fight alongside you to help you take back what is yours!" He says with strength in his voice, pounding his right fist into his left palm.

Talohn the moves on to answer what that would entail, before they can even ask. "This would include helping supply your people weapons, armo-" He pauses to point out an exception. "No beskar. Sorry, religious limits there." The cathar then continues. "Weapons, armor...but most importantly, we are willing to help train your men. Trust me, a week or two with our elites and some dirty pirates will no longer stand a chance. Of course, not everything is free." He shrugs apologetically. "What is the cost, you ask? Well. Look, I love Kestri. It's my home. But let's face it, the place is an ice ball. Literally just illum without the cool shiny crystals. No, instead we get vong." He states with a certain distaste, remembering when he helped retake the planet, while also hoping his attempt at comedy reached them. "We will likely need food and material imports in return. Things our planet cannot naturally supply. Nothing major, at least not in my opinion. So, people of the council." He tilts his head in question. "What say you? I am willing to answer any questions you may have."

Politics. Negotiations. And her Cathar, Talohn Atar, wanted to wander into the middle of it for the good of the entire community. Slaughtering the criminals would improve the community -- though the Sith wasn't terribly eager to go doing the People's work either. If crime was so rampant why didn't they band together and do something about it? Or join them. Oh, right, encouraging joining the criminals was in direct opposition toward being on the side of Good and Justice.

If it weren't for the side of Self-Empowerment and Realization being co-opted by the Genocidal Maniacs or the Galactic Overlord-Wanna-Bes the Twi'lek might actually have somewhere to go. As it was, perhaps she could whisper into the ears of the gulli-- naive and accomplish some of her own agenda. Getting the ear of a Dictator or Religious Zealot only let you whisper things into their ear that they wanted to hear. Don't needlessly slaughter all the people of the galaxy was not what they wanted to hear. So, Zlova had to go the route of 'corrupting' (enlightening) the 'innocent.'

For the day's affair the red-skinned woman chose a cropped top that swept down from her shoulders and covered her bosom, vambraces and gloves (because vod loved those), and leather pants. This was modest to Zlova. A full covering not showing arms or mid-section would just be puri-tanical. Her sabers were as always secured at the small of her back; but today they were stacked horizontally to look like little more than a strange fashion accessory that curved downward at the ends. How many of these people had ever seen a lightsaber, really?

When they arrived, Zlova smiled over at Warmaster Saxon. It wasn't difficult to tell with a slight glance how wary he was. Practically no Mandalorian wasn't when they first laid eyes on her. The grand exception to the 'kill them all' rule. If Talohn wasn't there and they weren't 'involved' she might have flirted with the man. Why? Because he was a Warmaster. They could go drown themselves in liquor and talk all about conquests. Still could just without the sexual undertones.

Another Mandalorian -- a woman that didn't wear beskar -- began to address the crowd. Golden rings slid over toward Mia as she spoke. An interesting woman. There was something different about her. Zlova wondered if Mia would be good company in a cantina as well but for different reasons. A lack of deference to tradition and a rebellious streak would be delightful.

Talohn then made his move. Not before causing Zlova to look meaningfully at the feline. Keep her eyes sharp? The man did know who he was talking to. She kept her eyes sharp when surrounded by friends. With complete strangers present the Twi'lek was a fraction of a second from leaping forward and bisecting someone in a single movement. A quick smirk followed the man's light kiss as Talohn moved to start his speech.

There was one pleasant thing about today's affair, however. Talohn said the Enclave would protect these people until they could defend themselves; that was in-line with her belief that all the people of the galaxy needed to be capable of dealing with their own messes. Sure, ideally they'd magically manage entirely on their own, but giving them a place to stand and direction on how to build up their strength was a practical application of theory. If the Enclave was extending their form of loose-government to all the worlds they planned to protect then this might be just the place to whisper into their ears after all. Just had to get the Quartermaster's attention in ways that weren't "let's make sure the Sith isn't setting anyone on fire today."

Zlova's eyes scanned those in attendance while she remain mindful of the vibrations in the Force. They didn't need a ship sweeping in to blow them all away from outside, after all. For now, the Twi'lek stood by as the strong, silent type of eye-candy. Time would tell if she remain that way, depending on how the authorities of this planet responded.

Tayl fans her pistol from the hip as two thugs draw on her, Falling to their knees and then duracrete with heat-beam holes smoldering in their chests soon after.
The pistol remained at her hip as she glanced from side to side slowly, Regaining her bearings on the situation; She was alone now, For better or for worse. She had plenty of ammo and a mini-armory in her pockets and various holsters, But little to no support that she was aware of.
Additionally, Those shots had echoed through the slums, As did a previous firefight which drew the attention of these two, And likely more on their way. She could take them of course, But putting down that many before reaching her objective would be a waste of ammo.

It was time to move.

She began to creep through the old alley ways and abandoned streets, Spurs jingling with each step as the young Verd'ika vigilante moved in on her target's last known location.

Her target was a man named Daromant, An arms dealer with a lot to answer for. Of course, This wasn't just about the Enclave. Her own Intel suggested that he had once traded guns to the Archenemy: Apollyon The Betrayer Apollyon The Betrayer , Meaning that he could be a lead for the Vizsla family's hunt spanning years now.

Intel provided by Kranak Vizsla Kranak Vizsla recently suggested that he was on Kaddak, And a few cooperative smugglers at gunpoint now led her here; To a rundown old cantina that she believed was one of Daromant's smaller safehouses in between meetings.

When she arrived however, It seemed quiet. Too quiet.

The young Twi'lek swerved around the doorframe, Coming out with her pistol gripped in both hands and ready to take on an army!
But there was no army. The dimly lit bar was filled with old tables that had been dirtied. Broken shot glasses and half emptied bottles lining the counter where the neon light flickered.

"Lights are on but nobody's home..." She sighed to herself, Shoving her pistol back into it's holster.

A quick look around revealed no blaster scoring, Bodies or blade marks. Not a drop of blood was shed here today.
The only marks were odd trails through the dust, Like something had been moved. Furniture maybe?

She would lean around the corner as she came behind the bar, Following the trail from where one of... Whatever it was, Had been moved from. There were a couple empty containers or some kind, But nothing particularly interested her save for some corellian whisky on the shelves behind them.

So she removed her helm, Uncorked a bottle and put it to her lavender lips. Enjoying her drink while she planned her next moved.

Target's cleared out. Cargo moved.

Destination? Think Tayl, Think...

Then her vambrace flickered, Prompting her to check the built in data-pad from the corner of her eye while downing the whisky.

From Kranak? She tossed the bottle aside, Shattering it against the floor elsewhere without a care. Her attention was now entirely on whatever Intel she was seeing.

Factory. Arms deal? I'm on your trail!
Without so much as a glance, She vaulted over the counter and took off running towards the factory. Little did she know that her fellow Vizsla was already a step ahead of her.

The incoming fire was suddenly halted, causing Sasha to hesitantly fight back to her feet, her discomfort still audible through the helmet. As surprising as it may have seemed, she had never been under such intense fire before. The type where moving felt like a death sentence, but she was also comfortable with fighting through trauma, and would let it pass. She had a mission to do here, and wasn't about to have Garrus looking at her like a scared pup. She forced herself to ignore it. They had a bead on her, and they couldn't deliver... That was all.

Albeit, she had no idea where the shot had come from; only hearing the distant thud a moment after the thug had gotten dropped. Almost simultaneously the door simply cracked ajar, the little slicer droid was yet to be seen, but the way had been opened to their target. She forgot to note this to Garrus, groaning as she leaned forward to grab her rifle, There were a few sporadic explosions still sounding off behind her as she peeked completely helmet first into the doorway briefly.

Empty. As such, she used a single left hand to pull the door open the rest of the way, then leveled it again as she pressed inside. Somehow, it seemed to only get quieter as she went in. The Pred-X was still stalking the outskirts of their battle, feeding any enemy positions directly into her HUD, which was of course linked with any other nearby members synced to the same frequency. Moving out into the open area, she noted the Hut was literally alone; but would still scan the entire room with her weapon before adopting a more at rest position with it.

Garrus Garon Garrus Garon was still in conflict, so she needed to be quick... Or, actually. She would quickly press a few buttons, causing the doom-cat (which she ignorantly, and consistently referred to as a dog) to fire a single stun grenade via a near mortar style firing mechanism at his nearest targets; and would automatically fire another at any targets that flared on Garrus's HUD, after those two there were two cryoban grenades left in the cats payload; from there, she would cut it loose, but not yet.

"The Honorable Zuga... "

She stated, voice still electronically modified by the helmet she wore. Breathing not audible to him, but her body heaving from the rapid exertion.

The Hutt inhaled a bit, seeming... Overly relaxed, given his predicament. He hoisted up a random, heavy object and would yeet it at a location that was just out of sight. Someone mumbling in discontent as they appeared. Her rifle snapped onto him, tracking his forehead as he shakily moved to stand near the Hutt, who would look at the other with a look of near disbelief. Cowards...

And then he began to speak. the shivering Twi'Lek man in front of him nodding at Zuga, then shakily turning to the Mandalorian.

"The Honorable Zuga the Hutt would like to know wh-.. Why your clan has executed such viscous attack on his peaceful operations... Hutts have no quarrel with the Mandalorian peoples, nor have they ever officially been at odds, outside of sporadic even-"

She briefly lowered her weapon, pressing the button on her datapad, as a recorded message played.

"We do nothing, we wait... They will leave soon enough; The honorable Zuga does not believe they know about the Beskar"

She would not say anything further however, and simply cant her head at him. Scare Tactics, magnified from the fact he had no idea who he spoke too.

They would work at least in the slightest, as he was clearly taken aback to hear himself speaking on a Mandalorian recording. He shakily turned back to Zuga, who was saying something, clearly wanting the other to speak something for him. However... He would clear his throat, nodding at the Hutt, but would not be repeating what the Hutt had just told him to say.

"Listen, I-.. I'm not like these people. The B- Beskar is in container 4-0-2-6... It isn't much, most of it is fake, but there area at least seventeen ingots that are real, I used to work for The Exchange, I know the real stuff... I.. I told him, but he said most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. J- Just let me go, please... I never saw anything, do what you want with him. He's a minor Hutt anyway"

She didn't respond to him, but would instead make sure her patch to Garrus was synchronized, for their brief conversation he could hear, and see if he wished what she did upon his own HUD.

He would take a tentative step down, as if he was prepping to leave, prompting Sasha to let the rifle go once. The sound deafening, but delivering the point she didn't want him moving yet. Not till their prize was confirmed.

Simultaneously however, Zuga the Hutt had surmised that whatever his advisor was saying, was likely not the

'Tell these Mandalorians to get out of my home, before they start a war they have no interest in finishing'. And would slink his hands down in his bathwater, fumbling for... Something.

Light filtration systems in his Buy'ce ensured that when the stun grenade detonated near the hostiles that Garrus was engaging it had no impact on him. If distance hadn't been a factor the helm would have cancelled out any flash from the grenade, the Buy'ce was also equipped with a sound dampener. In any event Garrus simply kept the Blaster Rifle trained, when his targets were stunned he'd finish them with quick shots to their torso.

As anticipated other targets flared on his HUD and he was quick to dispatch them after the secondary stun grenade delivered mortar style by the Pred-X was delivered. All that done Garrus was left alone out in the 'Depot' while @Sasha Kyrze moved inside to confront the Hutt and his Aide-de-camp. There was a moment that Garrus took to admire the carnage outside, the bodies and the plumes of smoke still rising from the destroyed ITT while being apprised of what went on inside due to the comms link he shared with his comrade.

Once the Twi'lek had provided the location of the Beskar the Warrior moved to locate it. The Container '4026' was amongst the stacks, as inconspicuous as any of the others with one other container loaded ontop of it to help it blend in. Moving closer Garrus checked the container, unsurprisingly it was locked however the Mandalorian had ways of dealing with that---Sasha had her spiders whereas Garrus had a more conventional way of opening doors.

Removing a detonator that he'd stowed away on his person for just such occasions he'd plant it across the container then back away, moving around a corner before a load explosion rocked the area. Looking back he'd have seen the doors ripped off the container giving him easy access and there was another surprise too, a Combat Droid. The Droid was a late model, obsolete on the market but enhanced with some after market accessories like a flamer for close combat engagements; the explosion had damaged it but it wasn't inoperable yet.

Garrus came around the corner firing his Blaster Rifle, hitting the Combat Droid in the torso and making it reel backwards but with only minimal effect whereas return fire caused the Mandalorian to stagger briefly while his voice crackled over the comms...

"God damn Hutt added a little extra security to this container!"

...the tone of his voice indicated Garrus was having none of it, the Mandalorian was getting angry. The Blaster Rifle was ineffective so Garrus threw it down, reached up over his shoulder and withdrew his Beskad taking it right hand over the left. What came next was short, sweet and didn't require elaboration. The Droids head came loose, clattering across the ground and Garrus, smoking from contact with that flamer was annoyed; he'd lost a good cloak and was mildly uncomfortable from exposure to the intense heat.

When he investigated the container further he'd locate the ingots, confirming that the beskar was present. It only took him a moment to come back over the comms...

"Located the beskar."

...there was a momentary pause, then...

"Clean up the loose ends."

...it was an order, Garrus was not known to be a completely sympathetic individual in fact if Sasha knew much about him she may have heard how he had nuked an entire city for noncompliance once. Regardless, he knew that if they let the Hutt live he could come back to haunt them and the Twi'lek could claim ignorance but the Mandalorian was well versed in the relationship that species had with the Hutts.

They moved in relative silence after the brief back and forth, Aani's angry pace causing Sikkol to huff a little with keeping up. She let a satisfied grunt slip as they moved, the weapons on each yet to make a sound beside the soft cling of buckles and loose gear around them. Rounding a corner, they were met with wary eyes at the mouth of the entryway to the medical center.

<"Welcome party. Itchy fingers."> Aani hissed, his own visor picking out targets before them as they drew near enough to speak.

"Doc is busy. You got business?" A human snapped, one hand on his belt as the other slid down to the blaster holster.

"Yes, McGuinness told us to meet them here." Sikkol informed them, the small squad of bodies straightening at the mention of the doctors name.

<"We are about to be off schedule."> Aani snapped from over his shoulder, the backpack being shifted a little as a trandoshan cackled at them.

"Not available for appointments. Busy with ours." It hissed at them, Sikkol grunting at the being.

"We are almost late, and you've messed up our appointment. Best if you headed out." Sikkol informed the group plainly, getting a few laughs out of them as the human smiled.

"Don't upset us now, mando. We were here first."

"You best be on your way. Or we will make you leave."

<"They want a fight."> Aani informed him, the click of his tongue as much affirmation as she was to receive. His hand reached up, messing with the bottom edge of his helmet as the group gathered in front of them. Most leered in some manner, an exasperated sound coming from him before he touched his belt and cleared his throat.

"The doctor is about to be a lot more busy then." He explained before three discs were cast from his hand, he and Aani jumping backwards with assistance from their repulsor-system as the group lunged forward.

Gravity amplified in the field the discs created, most of the group seeming to crumple to the ground as the trandoshan fought to keep his stomach from touching. Their legs under them, Aani and Sikkol drew close enough to watch the group struggle, a hand sliding to his gauntlet and sweeping a dial carefully with his finger as the trandoshan vainly struggled against the increasing gravity well.

"Give up, or you'll be flatter than a tin-bin in a reclamation plant." Sikkol informed them, receiving curses and pleading tones in equal measure. His gaze slipped over to Aani as she drew her blaster pistol out, clearing his throat before attempting to speak.

"Or dead. Either way." She cut in, Sikkol shaking his head as the door opened while he snatched his own blaster pistol from his hip.

He’d been on the ground for a while now, and he’d brought plenty; he had his rotary cannon and plenty of power packs to go along with it. His blaster pistol was strapped to one hip holster, while the other held a slug-thrower within it. A scattergun to be precise, through it had been stripped of so many components that it looked to consist of just the trigger mechanism and the barrels – of which there were two. That it did tickled him, and was largely the reason he’d parted with his credits for it – he had a particular fondness for weapons that had more than one.

He had only recently arrived a few days ago, in response to a request to take action. Kaddak was in dire need of a little clean up. Or so the mission was; there wasn’t one given target this time, but rather a general objective to rid the place of pirates, criminals, slavers and other such undesirables that plagued it. How to do so was easy enough; his rotary cannon was aptly suited to the task. Where to find them however, was another matter.

Thankfully, someone more apt at that aspect of the mission was delivering her message to the masses of citizens. Alora had a way with words, having obtained the attention of those there with her remarkable speech. Maybe they’d listen to her. Surely some would, but he doubted most or even many would take the warning – how could they know how wise it truly was? He considered those he was out to deal with to be stubborn vermin, and expected that they’d need to be dealt with from the other end of spinning blaster barrels. Neither judge nor jury was he; but executioner? That was a job he was aptly suited to handle.

Not that trying to reach them through speech was a wasted effort, whether any took the offer made or not. Better that Alora announce their intentions; a lot of the folks here were criminals, but even more weren’t. Simply shooting up the place without any explanation was sure to irritate the locals, and those among them who were decent folk had nothing to fear. If anything, they ought to receive this warmly – to those who wanted to live free of criminal oppression, life was about to improve. For some, it was about to end; for one must cut out the rot to allow the good to grow.

Thonn arrived to the outskirts of the audience, tucked away in a narrow alley as to not be too noticeable. Which was a hard quality to keep when carrying a Z-6 rotary cannon that sticks out like a sore thumb. None seemed to notice anyhow, as their backs were turned with all eyes remained fixed on Alora. Perhaps she too saw Thonn in the distance. Which is where he would stay; he didn’t want to tread forth and draw attention to himself. She was doing a good job with her speech, and he sure didn’t want to screw it up by getting the crowd’s attention. He wouldn’t know what to do with it.

If there were a cue to, then he’d move forth. Until then, it was good to simply be present, blaster cannon loaded and ready to partake in enforcement, should the attempt at persuasion go awry.

She was still standing in a firing position, weapon trained on the Twi'Lek when she noted the hulk of meat behind him shifting. She took a tactful sidestep to her left to get a better sight on him, and noted he was fumbling.

"Tell him stop moving..."

She warned the Twi'Lek. Glancing at him, and quite literally being caught off guard when the Hutt slid out of that water. holding some sort of spear in hand, the color of it reminiscent of either Beskar, or Song-steel.

"Meg o'r osi'kyr!?"

The speed of it... Well... First of all, Sasha wasn't even aware the slugs could move. It was how fast he moved however that had caught her off guard however. Moving over to the Twi'Lek and hoisting him up, slithering towards her at a moderate speed (for something that could easily crush her) in her direction.

The Twi'lek loosed a shrill scream, ignored by Sasha as she perforated him, the AP rounds penetrating and landing shots on the Hutt, however, and unfortunately only about twelve rounds were fired total, of that only a few hit the Hutt.

It was fair to say Sasha had been caught completely, and utterly off guard. Zuga the Hutt had played a good game of possum on her then, tossing the Twi'Lek's corpse forward. She dodged right, then quickly shifted left as the point of the weapon was thrusted right at where she would have been. creating sparks of the pauldrons of her Beskar'Gam, and impaling deep into the wall just beside her.

If Garrus was still observing her HUD, he would have seen a Hutt Hand covering her entire Buy'ce, then what seemed to be her being ragdolled briefly across the room, groaning as the very action partly sprained her neck. She hit the ground hard a few feet away. Hard enough to do a roll or two before stumbling back to her feet.

She needed to get the hell out of this building, but the Hutt was also surprisingly agile with her. By the time she was up, he was slithering up, sliming up the floor as well which would eventually be difficult. to fight in.

She would began charging her Baroness wrist-cannon, again grabbed and hoisted vertically, hitting the ceiling hard enough to break the duracrete before being again yeeted across the room. and sliding a good eight feet to a still.

Was she really getting her ass kicked by a Hutt? This story couldn't get out... Ever...

"Little Help..."

She whined it out breathlessly as the Hutt slowly bore down on her now, preparing the point of his spear to skewer her.

'Chee sa Way Banwauesa, Chateua ateema che Zuga bu Yih'

He grumbled out in a thundering baritone. She wanted to get up, but... She was positive something was either fractured, or broken. She couldn't move...

"Ke'gyce!?" She growled, tasting blood in her mouth; and raising the APG as he neared. Again, he surprised her quickly using the spear to deflect her arm, and blowing a huge hole in the roof above them.

He looked up, huge disc likes eyes blinking, then looked back down at her with a laugh. Raising his weapon hand and preparing to finish the Mandalorian.

He'd been inspecting the contents of the container when the confrontation between the Hutt and Sasha began. Raising an ingot close to the visor of his buy'ce Garrus had been examining it and testing its purity. True to what the Twi'lek said there were sixteen beskar ingots here in the container alongside many other ingots which had been passed as beskar but were clearly of lesser quality. As a distorted sound came over the comms Garrus attention would shift back to the HUD he shared with Sasha Kryze Sasha Kryze right as she was being tossed around one of those times prompting the remark of...

"Ah, hell."

...before he tossed the ingot he'd been holding back with the others, exited the container and moved back towards the building he'd left his companion in. On route Garrus would sheath his beskad again and retrieve his Blaster Rifle, he'd grown fond of the old weapon despite the fact it was out dated in comparison to the more advanced weaponry seen now but it remained reliable.

Tucking the Blaster Rifle under his arm whiel he walked across the 'Depot' Garrus, who was now monitoring Sasha's HUD closely via his own would crackle over the comms...

"You've got him right where you want him."

...there wasn't a specific urgency in the Mandalorians voice but as he moved he was busy doing something, multitasking as it were as he retrieved something unseen and loaded it into one of the armaments on his left forearm.

By the time Garrus reached the building, stepping inside he would see the Hutt raise its spear and prepare to deal a blow to Sasha though with his focus solely on her at the moment he hadn't noticed Garrus at this point. In response Garrus was quick to raise his left arm, the Micro Launcher activating and firing the single projectile he'd loaded into it during his walk over. The Hutt would feel the small projectile penetrate its hide like it'd been shot but no damage done, imagine its surprise then when the armor piercing grenade round Garrus had fired detonated. Insofar as explosions went it was not entirely impressive but watching the bulbous body of the Hutt rip apart in a shower of gore was satisfying.

The Warrior had turned his head, even at a distance there was splatter that covered his armor so one could imagine what must have happened to Sasha when the Hutt exploded overtop of her. Everything it ever was would rain down over her.

Wiping some of the gore off his Beskar'gam Garrus would chime in over the comms again...

"The Honorable Zuga the Hutt thanks you for your patronage."

...and people said he didn't have a sense of humor.

Vulcan finished setting up his stall, he had found a passion he never knew he had: Food. He loved cooking and he was good at it. So why not sell some foodstuffs at Kaddak. He placed food out on the stall and prepped new ingredients for his next batch. This was his second job, his first was security. He had to grin smugly at the memory of the Beskar theft. His shining moment had led him into a sense of belonging and that he had a Clan again.

He thought that he was too “out there” to be a Mando and he wasn’t the norm. He was very surprised when no one bat an eyelid at him. Exactly what the Ubese needed and wanted.

Vulcan felt out of place at first, but that soon passed, he still has moments of otherness but not to the degree he had been at first. The Mine had decent security measures now and a functioning security team so he can indulge in his side job more. He is attracting passing visitors. There were even purchases and satisfied tastebuds, so he is getting business.

The Oven beeped alerting the youngster to a new loaf that has been baked. He pulled it out and set it down. He quickly checked the sizzling meat in the pan on top of the Oven.

It felt good to be out there and doing something he loves.

Below, their city burned.

Here, at the pinnacle of the Sliver, the smoke was reduced to a hazy, pink gauze ringing the seat of their power. The timing had been impeccable; every notable member of the Council was either on planet or in this room. Explosions that would have rocked lesser structures were rendered to flashes of light and song by the strange, crystalline structure that sheltered them.

Them, and the enemy at their gates.

Some councilors cringed in fear, some reached for weapons. Most watched in wary silence, yet few eased out sighs of relief at Talohn’s words.

Each according their nature; each reaction giving some hint as to how they had received a seat of power on this council. A quiet man, slender and grave stepped forward. The grey-green, almost colorless council robes taking on the vibrant, crystalline hue of the Sliver as he stepped into its light. His gaze assessed the young woman and dismissed her as irrelevant; next it wandered to the Twi’lek, gaze lingering … and not upon the tattoos. Yet he clearly considered her no more than a show piece. A harder assessment fell upon the armored man, who had yet to speak.

The power of the other side. The anchor, by which he could leverage back not only his own power, but the world’s.

He was nothing, if not practical.

Last, it settled upon the eloquent Cathar. Mandalorian? It must be so, given his company. The man looked carefully at the map which had laid out. A surprisingly accurate of criminal activity; he’d be sure to add it to his collection later.

A long list of benefits followed an offer he could not quite decipher.

“I am Spiremaster Al’yin of House Lonar.”

“You offer weapons, food, armor, training … an army beside us. But who would you have us fight? And what are you taking from us? What does your Enclave truly wish, Talohn of Clan Atar? An alliance, or conquest? Open warfare would hardly be necessary, for simple trade! Make no mistake, you invade here.”

Behind him, a new rustle of unease swept through the gathered counselors.

Good.

Another voice spoke out, from behind him.

“Who do we fight?” Scorn dripped from the Togruta’s voice. She took a step forward, the pink sheen lighting her robes as well. “Black Sun! Hutt Cartels! The Zygerrian Slave Empire!” Her gaze settled upon the young Cathar’s and her voice lightened, sensing the sincerity of him.

“I am Spiremaster Odasha Bassam. Greetings, Talohn, Zlova, Mia, Romul.”

It is those who attack form orbit, and then glean through the remains that do the most harm. We need a space station, and at least one hyper-capable ship, to send for help when they come. You are hidden; we have no way to reach your …what did you call it? Enclave?”
a pause, for every other Enclave she’d ever heard of had been composed of the Force Sensitive. “Have you made peace, then, with the Force being amongst your people? We want no Mandalorian purges here; better the crime cartels than a shattered world.”

Al’yin stirred, turning to face his rival. Err, ally. His gaze snapped to a few key counselors, then back to the irritant in his flesh. “Mandalorians are at least as bad for those around them as any of the groups you’ve named.” and made you a lot less money, too. He turned back to those invaders before him, deliberately.

Very deliberately.

“We trade our planet to no one, traitor!” a voice cried out, one of the young counsellors placing themselves directly behind the Togruta’s back.

Urban engagements in a heavily populated environment, with the innocent and the enemy inextricably mixed was a nightmare under any conditions.

Tragedies would happen. Mistakes would be made.

Coming so soon after Rhand and its aftermath, Jhira was shaken enough that she’d dreaded answering the call to serve. Would have avoided this action save that her vode were here. And the one thing she could not have borne would be for her fellow karjr to face this without her. Siv. Thonn. Kale. Verd. The hidden sniper who’d saved her life at least twice. Stupid, to be so worried about them, and she knew it. They had been doing this a very long time without her. Caring is a weakness, an alien, dark voice whispered in the back of her mind. Fear shuddered through her, and her breath became uneven. Years of discipline failed her - she did not move, locked in an internal battle. Anger seethed, but could not check the bitter fear that felt ever-present since her odd, eldritch captivity.

Knocking her T-visor head against the wall behind her, Jhira let a breath whisper out, then steeled herself to move out of cover. An explosion rattled the world and the unmistakable battle cry of Clan Garron broke through the sounds and signs of battle all around her. The memory of another military disaster swamped her. The unique snap of a sniper rifle, far too close, snapped her back into an awareness of this battle. And to her surprise, her HUD tracked down a Breshig system nearby; Strill securities. She signaled her Tac Comp to request coordination, and began moving towards the signal.

Because she would not be defeated by this.

Death is life: One should die as they have lived.

Captain Jhira Mereel would live and die a Mandalorian.
