Thurion's consciousness, meanwhile, was somewhere else entirely.
"This is a dream," he mumbled sleepy words as he laid eyes upon the silhouette of his wife against a bright backdrop. Coci leaned in for a tender kiss on his lips. "Then it is a good dream," she replied as her features became increasingly clear and the overwhelming brightness turned into something more familiar. Home.
"I remember... a great wave, crashing down on me. I held it for as long as I could, but..."
Coci was quick to shush her husband, pressing her fingers to his lips. "Hush, love. You did the best you could. Many were saved because of what you did. The bond we share transcends space and time, my love. I felt your sacrifice through the Force, and have come to keep your spirit company until the time is right. Until you are returned to me."
Thurion sat upright on the imaginary sofa, looking around at the perfect replica of their humble abode. "You are here to keep my soul from departing," he reiterated on her words, to which Coci nodded. "I await you at Heavenheim, where we will be together again. Until then, I will keep you safe."
He leaned his head against hers as their fingers entwined and their wedding rings connected, and together they gazed out towards the open sea through their living room window. "No more adventures, my dearest friend. From this point forward, I belong to Midvinter. I belong to you."
However long it would take to bring him home for awakening, he was glad to spend it with the woman he loved. His anchor in life. The rest was up to his friends on the outside. They would have to carry the weight for the time being.
