  • Classification: Infantry
  • Equipment:
Armor made of durasteel, armorweave and boiled leather.
  • Greatswords forged from vardium and durasteel, the former of which giving the blade its blue hue.

COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Unique
  • Deployment: Limited
  • Force Rank: Apprentice
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
Heavily armored, they can weather blows from most conventional weapons such as blasters and blades, and offers limited protection against lightsabers.
  • Wielding massive two-handed swords forged by the ancient wisdoms of Beorni blacksmiths, they are inherently cold to the touch.
  • All members of the Lionguard are tested for being Force sensitive upon initiation by [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] in person who takes the extra effort to instructing them on the most basic Force powers, primarily Sense abilities to better coordinate in the heat of battle.
  • Also instructed to them by Lord Heavenshield are the virtues and mindset of the Jedi, allowing them to keep a calm and collected head in battle which in turn allows for more detailed and complex tactics than most Valkyri are known for.
  • This elite guard numbers in only a dozen or so members due to their exclusivity and extensive training.
  • They possess no ranged weaponry, forcing them to get in close where they excel.
  • In possession of only the most basic knowledge of the Force and can rather easily be outdone by proper, more experienced Force-users.

  • Description: Oathsworn and honorbound, the members of the Lionguard are utterly dedicated to the Heavenshield family, currently serving chiefly as the household guard of the current Lord of Fridheim. Their ferocity and zeal in battle are unmatched, for only the greatest of Midvinter's warriors are given the opportunity to swear the oath and join this sacred brotherhood. This elite force is given arms and armor to reflect their status as the finest the Valkyri have to offer, easily putting them on par with any elite units the greater galaxy has to offer.

It was Thurion himself who sought out the mightiest champions the land had to offer, testing them for Force sensitivity before accepting their swordarms. Putting his long and considerable experience as an instructor to the test, once mustered at the western capital of Fridheim he took to schooling his eager recruits on the concept of the Force and the virtues of the Jedi so intrinsic to his very being. It proved difficult to persuade them of their dormant abilities, let alone instruct them on how to utilise them properly. In time however, these warriors have grown to reflect the peaceful nature of their lord and teacher, their minds and spirits accepting of this "blessing from the gods".

Their arms and armor are adorned with the blue and gold associated with House Heavenshield, and draped over one shoulder is the pelt of the Midvinter lion unique to the plains of the Westmark whom the Heavenshields liken themselves to in the eyes of their peers and followers. Also associated with the Lionguard in particular are their shimmering-blue vardium blades of exquisite design, freezing cold to the touch.

Thurion Heavenshield said:
the vardium blades are supremely cold to the touch which lends to their already considerable destructive capabilities.
As far as I can tell, vardium is just descibred as "cold to the touch" and would not present any inherently more destructive capabilities than a greatsword forged out of any other commonly available metal. Please remove this.
