SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Energy Neutralizer - The Reaver maintains a fairly robust network of defenses against energy weapons, featuring gammaplast plating, armorweave, energy sinks, Integrum, and other protective systems, the armor is a strong platform for foot soldiers in defending against the most common weapons on the modern battlefield.
  • Liquid Armor - The Reaver's sleek appearance belies its robust capacity for defending the wearer against kinetic weaponry. The combination of light gammaplast plating and a shear thickening fluid layer makes the suit very effective in mitigating kinetic force and penetration, affording the wearer a good degree of protection against kinetic force.
  • Scream of Defiance - The Reaver's integrated sound dampening overlay affords the armor a reliable capacity to dampen incoming fire from most types of sonic weaponry, thereby protecting the wearer and her internal organs from the deleterious effects of these assaults.
  • Storm Dancer - A highly robust design, the Reaver is hardened against Ion and EMP-based assaults, allowing it to maintain a degree of reliability under conditions of interference which might otherwise disable much of the armor’s electronics.
  • Camouflage - The Reaver features a camouflage system which primarily functions to distort the armor’s visual profile via camouflage, making it that much more difficult for an enemy to acquire the wearer as a target.
  • Strength Augmentation - The armor provides its wearer with a fourfold strength enhancement due to the energized and reactive polymers utilized in the entirety of its construction, similar to the polymers in Crushgaunts. This allows the user to carry heavier weapons, ammunition, and other equipment with significantly more ease, while also granting her the ability to challenge and overcome physically stronger opponents in hand-to-hand combat. It also lends her a boost to mobility, athleticism, stamina, and running speed. Like virtually all systems in the armor, the reactive and energized polymers are linked directly to the neural interface to ensure maximum fluidity.
WEAKNESSES
  • Surface Damage - The Reaver’s equipped Dream Sight possesses an extremely advanced surface-integrated passive reception array. However, any direct damage to the surface of the armor may diminish the efficacy of the system due to the destruction of a number of passive micro-sensors.
  • Mechanical Mutation - While lacking some of the more demanding systems present in most First United Astral Engineering armor models, the Reaver still has a degree of advanced technology and automation. A skilled practitioner of Mechu-deru could feasibly disable these systems and put the wearer at a disadvantage, provided that they have a clear line of sight to the armor.
  • Bone Chill - The armor’s performance in defending its wearer from weaponized cold leaves much to be desired. While its protection is better than nothing, the wearer is better off depending on an external system to defend against this class of weapon.
  • Acerbic Affliction - In addition to being capable of destroying the armor’s network of passive, surface-integrated sensors, corrosive and acid weapons present a much larger problem in that they are also very effective at eating through the protective material to harm the wearer directly, potentially inflicting a host of deleterious effects, depending on the weapon.
  • Tensor - While the Reaver is optimized to mitigate damage from most forms of energy-based assaults, tensor weapons represent an exception. The compressed tractor beam waves discharged by these weapons can bypass the armor’s defenses and affect the wearer’s body at a cellular level, with the potential to cause grievous harm or death.
  • Stormtrooper Plastic - Unfortunately, the armor’s gammaplast isn’t of high enough grade to offer a good defense against lightsabers. These vaunted, mystical weapons will cut through the protective material like butter, with the potential to hack off limbs in the process. Given the proliferation of Force-users in the modern era, this is something that the wearer must always keep in mind.
DESCRIPTION
Derived from the Apsara and Kinnara personal armor systems, the FAE/A-10 “Reaver” Endurance Combat Armor was designed with ruggedness and reliability in mind, while still providing utility and reliable protection against common battlefield threats. Of particular note, the Reaver is cheaper than its predecessors, and perhaps for this reason the armor has been found in the hands of more than a few tribes of the Brotherhood of the Maw and groups linked to the Kainate, in spite of a lack of official contracts. It is well-suited for the field conditions dark side-aligned warriors find themselves in, with an emphasis on being worn for long durations of time, surviving in hazardous environments, and going for long periods without maintenance.

Ultimately, the Reaver represents a new stalwart, rugged platform, capable of enduring hellish warzone after hellish warzone, so long as its wearer has the strength and skill to survive under such demanding conditions.
