Though Lucien could not see her expression from behind her Obsidian Mask he would feel her less than amused stare nonetheless. The no-nonsense woman had no time, or patience, for one that constantly seemed to desire the last word. Right or wrong. “Listen twice as much as you speak.”

“Our orders are to follow, observe, and protect [member="Alkor Centaris"]. There are many moving parts in a war. The sooner you understand what cog you are—the better.”

Still, at least, when she told him to focus he seemed to obey. There were worse apprentices to take on within the Confederacy but there were times when she wished he were a little less willful. He had too much fire in him, whereas she, was slowly calcifying to stone. Her heart had opened once. Recently. No more. Never, again. There was only work. Duty. Of which she would attend to mercilessly.

By the time they came upon their missing Ex-Savage he was already engaging with a force of enemy combatants that were comprised, mostly of Mandalorians, but there were a few exceedingly pale faces speckled here or there. Echani? It was disturbing. Were the Echani not a proud, loyal, and culturally evolved species? Would they not avenge their own? Would they truly accept the rule of people that had orbitally bombarded their world? It was nonsense. Absolute, nonsense.

The Echani male that she had spotted on the sidelines responded to her request that he depart. His words were, truthfully, what she expected. The Knight began to press forward as Lucien asked what was happening. She made sure that he remained behind her so that she could provide a barrier between him and the metaphysical storm that was rising. Her presence would spread, a cooling wave, in comparison to the insanity the seeped from Aklor. It would condense and coalesce protectively around Lucien. Her student; her problem. “This is the Force. I was not informed that Centaris was so…Well-versed.”

From there the Knight answered the Echani. [[member="Ryndrae Talon"]]

‘Acknowledged—I understand. The Confederacy has come to set things right. Mind your attacks. Not every Mandalorian present serves the Infernal. The red mist…I know not what it is but it can’t be anything good.’

“Centaris!. She called for the man, feeling the deep, moving dark that grew in him. He hadn’t seemed to notice that they’d arrived. Had his connection to the Force made him blind as well as deaf? He knew that the Exarch had ordered his escort specifically. She could already see his Dauntless forces engaging in a small skirmish and her lips pursed together as she noted three Echani approaching from the flank.

Echani? Why?

“Stand down!”, Naedira snapped out at the trio, reflexively reaching behind her back, where hilt of her Electro-Chain Whip was located. “We don’t want to harm you!”

They didn’t seem to hear her. Or, they didn’t care. Her sword came free from its anchors whilst she twisted her wrist forward so that it became level for defensive tactics. ‘Watch our flanks. We are outnumbered…’, she warned her student, feeling more than a little uneasy, due to the circumstances. Naedira moved swiftly and parried the first strike with a downward swipe, before raising her hand, to release a telekinetic burst to shove the group backward. “Please. Do not make us.”

Her words fell on deaf ears. Chit. She hated fighting Echani. The young woman had fought Srina Talon many times and had lost. Every, single, time. Regardless…She did her best to occupy two of the warriors but she couldn’t keep the last from advancing on Lucien. Naedira fell into a defensive stance and could feel her teeth begin to grind together every time the rapier version of her weapon clanged against a long vibro-blade. The Echani kept trading out. Keeping each other fresh. Testing her.

She was thin, lithe, and extremely quick. Despite her crisp movements—they were faster. Naedira didn’t have the same flow they did, like water, and had to once again utilize the Force when they began to advance more aggressively. They had seen her weakness. She was only human.

Naedira was forced to move just slightly out of range and created just enough of a threat with her weapon to force her opponent to reorient. Just as she moved to take another step, the Echani on the left, leaped forward, blindingly fast, and struck at her, aiming for the chest, before he backed off quickly to cover himself from the possibility of an after blow. The Echani to the right moved in to try and catch her off guard but Naedira cut in mid-attack. Their swords bound with Naedira controlling the center.

The lock was broken, swiftly, by the entrance of another vibroblade whirling past her mask. The sensors in her helmet were having trouble following the flurry of motion that seemed dead set on liberating her head from her shoulders. When Naedira swung next she managed to strike one of the Echani in the side, just before, the other slashed a line across her chest. Her armor deflected most of it but she still felt the impact. Naedira spun around, ready to strike again—but that was when light and fire hit the sky.

“Look out!”, she shouted, mostly, to anyone that could hear her. Lucien. Centaris. The Echani that were so determined to fight. It took no more than a breath. In that time—[member="Adron Malvern"] filled her psyche. Not too many words, but enough of him, that her focus and strength overflowed.

Her arms flew outward, sword dropped, and instinctively she raised telekinetic shielding faster than most would have accomplished with very little time. Her ability wrapped around the blast that headed toward them. It protected not only herself, but her apprentice, and the Echani they’d been fighting. She couldn’t save one without the other. When the inferno stopped she continued to mold the flame…Bringing it back down. Holding it. One palm rest over the top and the other held it below.

The Echani seemed to have been blinded. She couldn’t say that her eyes, or ears, were any better. Explosions on any scale were not made to make anyone feel comfortable. When she looked ahead she could see that somehow, Centaris, had survived. His men had not. The glow from the sizeable ball she held was noticeable. They would not know that her eyes were filled with the amethyst Sith Corruption of one of the Confederate Exarchs. Her voice would expel from the mask coldly. Quietly. “Leave and live. Stay, and die. That is all I can offer you if you truly side with the Clans.”

The trio looked at each other. The orb of flame she held made them more than a little nervous. Her body language did not seem threatened. If anything—after the display of power she looked stronger. Not weaker. They backed away. Not gone, perhaps, but at the very least to regroup.

Naedira turned and focused on [member="Alkor Centaris"]. He was…Incensed. A beast tearing apart Mandalorian scum. Her hands had begun to shake from the force it took to maintain all of the destructive force and flame that had barreled their way. She crushed it. Taking from it the energy that she needed, she made it smaller, made it nothing, until a lack of oxygen made it as if it never was. “Keep your eyes peeled Rayne... They’ll likely be back to strike when we aren’t looking.”

The Knight held her hand out for her sword and it leaped to her grasp. The severe female strode across the burning field on the outskirts of the city with wary eyes. The bombs had done their intended damage. But, why had the Dauntless turned? Something foul was afoot. As she passed the burning shield that Centaris had created, at first, her mind did not want to see. Then it did. And she couldn't unsee it.

She was glad to be wearing a mask—If only to spare the likely unbearable stench.

The Sith woman snapped her wrist and her sword broke into pieces. She let it swing forward, over the shoulder of the beast, and snapped a Mandalorian warrior around the neck. It stopped whatever he had been about to do, mostly, because the plasma filaments were starting to stress the armor at a weak point. “Let us aid you, Centaris.”

Just as he threw a grenade at an open window. Squinting, her gaze narrowed when she felt it too.

Objective: Establish position.

The vibrations and shocks hummed through the fortress as it was embedded into the ground.

It flooded deep into your bones.

An endless shiver, thick enough you wondered if it would shatter your bones, break your teeth and turn your spine to liquid. This maneuver was not for comfort or safety. It was risky and all of them knew it, but that didn't stop any of the Clan. First one in, last one out, this was the Vizsla motto. The rest of their troops would follow suit, once the outpost had gone through its protocols. Neither Tamara, nor Ronan were about to wait for that though.

He removed his buckles and rose up.

Shaking his head for a moment. There was a white noise between his ears, a piercing whine, but it would leave him. It always did. "We march." Vizsla responded to the ready's of the crew. They set off immediately. While the jamming systems would have blocked any attempts to communicate, their drop would not have gone unnoticed.

Difficult to camouflage an entire fortress dropping out of the sky with escorts and all.

As they walked out of the bridge Ronan accepted his beskad, while passing a vornskr scatter-gun to Tamara.

"Tamara is my second-in-command. Any order she makes is to be followed without hesitation." Relayed through the comms so everyone was aware. The ground under their boots was dry and dirt. He squinted at it for a moment, picturing how it would mix with blood soon enough. "You will lead, Tam," He murmured to her softly as their troops arrayed into pre-determined squads. "-I will watch and observe." It was the only way that Ronan knew how to train his.

Throw them into the water and force them to peddle.

In the distance a handful of flares suddenly rocked up into the sky. They came from the general direction of the fortress they were to assault.

Gear: Lightsaber, wooden staff, knife, 30 undead minions

A round of explosives resounded against the barrier as the ground beneath them shook. The witches all stood ready to strike, waiting with Doashim and dead alike ready to pounce the moment the barrier went down. The very second it was relinquished, Fawn force pushed the grenades that had been launched high into the sky, her hellish mount needing no encouragement whatsoever to leap into the fray along with what was left of her undead horde. Thunder cracked from her staff, directed at the brute that was unfortunate enough to come across her first, her Doashim snapping its powerful jaws as the dead latched themselves onto him the best they could.

It was at that moment she heard her name called from somewhere. Spirits, maybe? No. It was the dark side, one of their own. She heeded the call to destroy them all, power welling up within her as her lightning was met with additional sweeping flames that she cast at the feet of her enemies. Never before had she felt this kind of power. Not from the dead, not from her magicks or spells, but straight from the dark side, power incarnate. With the same hand that held her lightsaber, she extended a finger and directed it towards a separate brute, attempting to lift him off the ground by his neck through the force. Choking such a beast may have been out of the question, but she could at least try to render him useless only to flail and kick in the air.

The seduction of the dark was so attractive, so addictive, so very, very powerful. Even as her own dead threw themselves recklessly into harm's way, being potentially severed or even blown to bits, she felt a kind of euphoria she hadn't experienced before. A kind of satisfaction that uplifted her at her very core, reverberating throughout her body.

Sometimes it was good to be bad.

Objective: undetermined ATM

No matter what you set the thermostat at it always seemed to be cold on capital ships. The wide expanse of space would be undeterred from ensuring one never forgot that they were not on planet, but rather hurtling through the emptiness of space. The viewport flashed with the streaking stars as the ship lead it’s fleet through the system. A flash on the side arm of the captain’s chair seemed to beckon the commander of the seventh fleet. Countdown to exiting hyperspace. Sixty seconds. Then the quiet of the ship would rouse to the sounds of war.

He stood behind the command chair, charcoal suit the dress uniform of the day. The grim set of his jaw expressed his dislike for the situation. War. Battle. Death for a cause that was again, not the specific responsibility of the United Siskeen Coalition. The people representing the planets of the Siskeen System were focused on diversifying their respective governments, growing their industries, and shoring up their own boundaries. A war on the other side of the galaxy for a planet that couldn't join the Confederacy seemed counter productive. But as one of the original signers to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, it was their responsibility to answer the call to war.

And so they answered the call.

A hand ran idly through jet, black hair before absently rubbing the coarse stubble adorning his face. Derek Dib, Viceroy of the Siskeen System, Governor of Olanet, chairman of the Board of Industries, and President of the United Siskeen Coalition answered the call by personally leading the USC 7th Auxiliary Fleet, along with two additional CIS naval ships, to the theatre of war in the Eshan System. As red rimmed eye watched the countdown for a moment he heard the officers begin prepping. The fleet had its orders, but everything was relative in battle. No one could always predict what was about to occur. Every great plan went out the emergency hatch upon contact with the enemy.

The countdown ended.

They say that no one can hear you scream in space. They are wrong. The many open channels that flooded with death cries rose like an unholy symphony that would scar the soul of even the most hardened warrior. The ones who had seconds before death, who knew their doom was nearing, those were the worst. Prayers to countless gods, cries for their mothers, their wives, their husbands, their children. The choked words right before explosive decompression.

The silence that followed was always terrible. The emptiness, the ache of existence, the spark of life snuffed forever more.

Derek set his face as he nodded to Captain Smoke who issued the order through the Kraken’s communications, “Formation Alpha.” The Kraken took the center with the five other capital ship forming a ring around her. The frigates, cruisers, and carriers filled in between. A second nod from Derek had Captain Smoke giving the next orders. “Target acquisitions, slave to our computers for long range volleys. All fighters prepare for launch. All weapons hot, shields up and fully powered.” The bridge went into seamless action.

Derek moved around to the front of the chair and placed his hands at the small of his back as he watched the distant ships already engaged and the planet grow larger.

The Chieftain had no great deal of understanding regarding human technology, their diagnostic systems seeming almost incomprehensible to his primate-like eyes. The giant growled, his tormented frustration worsened as the Hermes stuttered in its bold push between both the Confederate forces and the Mandalorians. Swarmed on all sides. The ship was suffering a beating.

All the whilst the Chieftain had wrongly hoped his enemies would be too entirely engaged with their own hostilities to fire upon himself. He was half-right, their fire only reaching him as the rogue vessel forced itself in the crossfire, attempting to make its way to Eshan. Tathra slammed his fist into the console, his clumsy brutish limbs glossing over the controls.

"[Draelvasier[: Blasted machine!" Tathra howled to himself, head anxiously shifting as the windows of the Command Deck allowed him to do nothing more than observe the blinding torrents of plasma striking the Hermes. The Chieftain needed to sacrifice protection for speed, otherwise the Mandalorian bombers would have a field day with the soon to be sabotaged Hermes. Tathra de-activated all non-essential and the majority of the essential systems, pouring all of the power into the thrusters.

The Hermes suddenly bolted, obliterating the hasty fighters and bombers that had dared approach the vessel. The Hermes cut under the Mandalorians defensive line, or rather cut through. Ever still - the abuse continued. Massive sections of the Hermes were on fire, other parts now entirely useless.

The Chieftain's titian eyes locked onto his blood, the lack of gravity causing his still oozing wounds blood to float - immediately draining his adrenaline as he winced, aware of the pain. The air was getting thinner or so he thought. Rather, it was non-existent. Tathra tapped into the cosmic, savouring what little air remaining in his titanic lungs to last him as long as forcibly plausible.

As soon as the Hermes hit the gravity of Eshan, Tathra felt himself jolt - his weight and mass stopping him from breaking in half against the momentum.

Tathra eye's flickered, the Command decks observation windows cracked - their integrity compromised by the lack of shielding as the broken chassis of the Hermes took on the full front of the kinetic energy hitting the ship as it plummeted through the atmosphere of Eshan. The glass splintered, shards finding spots in his chest and below his left eye. Tathra gritted his teeth, pulling deep from the well of the cosmic force, his primal eyes peering through the clouds and fire to see Eshan City in the distance.

The mass of the Chieftain pulled upright, composed as his target lay in sight. Yet both his wounds and lack of air gnawed at his senses. In a flash, Tathra felt himself smack into the control console - his eyes flickering open as he found himself afloat, closer to the elevator shaft than the command console. Ahead, through the broken class was no city. Nothing but barren land. Scorched black from the orbital bombardment no doubt.

The giant surged forward, climbing toward the command console desperately as pieces of the bridge gave way, the right side torn away as air rushed into Tathra's lungs. His hands found the controls, attempting to pull the Hermes up as the city was not so far, he could see the back of the Palace, and ahead the bridge. The primal instincts within raged at his convictions, telling him to surrender to his fate. Ever still, his hands clung to the control screens as the Hermes spear tipped front collided with Eshan's scorched surface.

The metal was ripping, bending and being torn apart under its own weight and momentum. It was deafening. Tathra slipped, half falling as he was thrown around. The Hermes shovelled into the planets surface, digging up hundreds of metres deep chunks of scorched rock as the SD spiralled through the planets crust toward the city, the upper half of the ship grinding against itself as it gained momentary flight, torn from the Hermes' lower half slid for half a mile before grinding to a halt as the upper half barrelled rapidly toward the city.

The grand site collected just beyond the Palace, its scale casting a staggering shadow over all behind and beyond the bridge as the upper half of the SD spiralled into two halves - one carting off toward scorched land and crushing a few outer buildings, the other rocketing into the city.

The head of the Hermes collided through building after building, flattening entire blocks as both Confederate and Mandalorian infantry were mercilessly crushed under the Hermes scorched skull. The remains of the Hermes lurched again, grinding through the city on its side, giving a close shave to the top of the Palace as it grinded to a halt.

The immediate sky was now now engulfed with a torrent of flame, lighting up the darkened city.

As the long range weapons were brought in line the officer at the comms motioned to Captain Smoke hurriedly. Striding over the captain and officer conffered for several tense moments which gained Derek's attention. As the eyes of the captain sought the fleet commander Derek moved quickly to their side. This was war, you had to be prepared, yet the expression on the Captain's face meant this was even more of a perilous situation then what could occur under battle.

Joining the duo the situation was given in Captain Smoke's clipped accent. "Sir, we have a star destroyer barreling towards the planet's surface. Current trajectory places it at Eshan City." Derek's mouth partially gaped at the news. The echani people that was the driving force for the USC joining the endeavor was looking at a cataclysmic event that would, if the ship hit in one piece, wipe out the city and the surrounding area. Nothing would survive. Not allies, not enemy, not the echani people who were at the crux of the invasion.

In moments like these, decisions had to be made. Split decisions. Choices that would affect the future. Something had to be done. This was a battle, between the superpowers of the Confederacy and the Mandalorians. But this act wouldn't carry over into their future like it would for the echani. The echani way of life would be shattered. Their people broken. Their planet scarred. And the Innocents would pay the price for whomever it was that had sent the ship hurtling toward Eshan.

A quick decision.

A choice.

But for Derek Dib it wasn't really.

"Sensor paint that ship. I want it hit, break it in half. All long range weapons target to destroy. Fire, then fire again. But fierfek, I want those trajectories triple checked! Fire when you have locks, and if there's a chance we will miss don't bloody fire! We can't completely save the city, but with luck, maybe we can whittle it down so the city survives, so the echani people survive. Fire when lock is acquired."

Derek went back to the chair and stood before the seat. Target was locked, triple checked, then a salvo went out. Missiles and lasers streaked between them. The destroyer was hit and broke in half. As the two halves fell toward the surface the weapons officer double checked then triple checked the trajectories as the two halves fell in wobbling descent. With another ping another salvo streaked across the heavens.

Chunks broke away from the two main halves. Yet the two pieces were still to large. As other salvos intersected with his it seemed that in that brief moment, Confederates and Mandalorians were seeking the same outcome, to not have the Capital city destroyed. Turbolaser, missiles, torpedoes lanced into the two halves shrinking the pieces into a smaller rain of death.

"Cease fire!"

Even as Derek shouted his fleet stopped their barrage. The two halves we're here fractions of what it had been. Yet the halves and the smaller chunks still crashed into and around Eshan City. Carnage and destruction was inevitable, for the furrows in the planet from the destroyed ship still spelled death for many echani, mandos, and confederates, but the city wasn't completely wiped off the face of the planet.

Derek sagged into the seat as a silence exhoed in the Kraken's bridge. It didn't matter that it was a Mandalorian Ally who had went rabid. It didn't matter that the Confederacy and the Mandalorians were fighting a battle. The only thing that mattered was that Eahan City still stood, but she was broken and bleeding. And Innocents were the ones who always paid the price of the game of thrones. Raising his eyes he spoke to Captain Smoke.

"I want one of the ships readied. If whoever did that survived, I want to know. Cause I'm going to go down there and kill him. Not for the Confederacy, not for the Mandalorians, but for the echani. I can't give them Justice, not for that, but maybe I can give them some vengeance."

An i firn
(For the Dead)
Raihane Talon was a diplomat, and a scholar and for the moment he had his youngest daughter with him, Viluy Aarina. Aarina had been working on freeing her father for some time when she saw her mother and then her sister Tellu. "Te- Tellu?" She questioned as if she had been visited by a ghost, "Tellu is that you?" Her sister had returned and that meant that Srina wasn't too far behind. Or so she hoped the tears in her eyes had dried and she coughed from the smoke and ash that filled her lungs. Between Aeris, Tellu and Aarina they managed to move the debris off of Raihane and it was then that they could see the grevious injury he had suffered.

Tellu pulled her sister into a hug, "I am here, it is me and Srina is near the palace I suspect." She stated matter-of-factly as Aeris helped her husband up. "We have to move, quickly." There was no time to pack, no time to do anything more than simply grab what you could and for the Talons it meant helping Raihane into a cart that had once been used to move dirt around the garden. Tellu's eyes drew to her father and their eyes connected, she approached him and placed a kiss on his forehead. "I am glad to see you have survived."

"I live, daughter, trust that I live. Come we must go."

"Valina..." Aarina's voice trailed.

Aeris having torn what was left of her cloak placed it around her husband's injuries and spoke. "We will return to Valina, my darling. It pains me as much as you to leave her behind but we haven't a choice. Our home is not our home, the ash pollutes our farm, our air, and the smoke will linger for days if not weeks. The atmosphere has been stained at best, and that I fear is putting it mildly."

Tellu nodded in acknowledgment, "mother's right, we have to go."

Aarina looked over her sister's shoulder and past her mother's form to the now burnt husk that she had once called home. Ash, soot, dirt, ruined char and debris all of it - that is what was left now. Ash, soot, dirt and the haunting silhouette of what had once been a home. She looked up to the sky and prayed to the Goddess that this would be over soon. Still, her lips quivered and the tears threatened to fall once more. She felt her mother's hand on her shoulder, "Na lelya, let us go there is nothing more that Eshan can give, but this chance that we may live. I pray that we will be able to return to our home soon enough."

"Until then, we must go with your sister - for she is here to help deliver the Echani to a new land."

Again all Tellu could do was to nod, "let us be quick."

As if she hadn't said it enough, but now they were making progress with her mother pushing the cart. Tellu on one side and Aarina on the other helping to push the cart off of their property. They crossed over the downed gate that Tellu had passed through just minutes ago, and as they got onto the road and looked about they could see what was left of their neighbors. Tellu gathered her courage and her words, "the Goddess shall provide, but for now, we must go - " a pause in her speech as she looked to her mother a moment. "There is nothing more that Eshan can give to us, but this chance that we may live - let us go. There are Confederacy ships waiting for us on the other side of the Farmlands, south - go south for there we shall find sanctuary."

The pale- alabaster faces of the Echani were grim, and as if there had not been tears before there were tears now.

"Our home cannot provide for us, our lands can no longer sustain us - our waters can no longer quench our thirst. If you choose to stay then so be it, I will not pass judgment. If you choose to go, to come with me - then know that I will do my best to reunite you with loved ones on Monastery. I will do my best, Srina will do her best to provide for you." Tellu by this point found that the crowd had grown, she could no longer count the number of faces that now stood before her. "The Goddess has not abandoned us, and know that while our hope may be frail there can still be miracles, for we who have to survive and who will continue to survive are that miracle."

Aeris looked over at her daughter and then to the crowd, "my daughter speaks the truth. We must now act on our faith, and we must flee - this is our Exodus, but this is not our Revelations. We will return, and we will make Eshan whole again - we will because the Goddess is on our side."

And with that, the noble and proud Aeris Talon who was now covered in ash, soot, and the blood of her daughter worked the cart that held her injured husband. Aarina moved to help her mother, as did Tellu and for what seemed like an eternity they were the only ones moving the cart. Then, another hand joined them and then another, and then another. The Echani are and were a proud people, and as they cast a glance over their shoulder toward the smoldering ruins that had once been their capital. They knew they knew that this was not over - not by a long shot, the Goddess would send forth her wrath but not today.

Tellu searched her person for the small communication device that Srina had given her. "Srina, it's Tellu - I have mother, father, and Viluy... Valina is ... as we suspected, dead. Unfortunately, we have no time to bury her and we are moving our neighbors and their families down to the farmlands in the south away from the capital. I've arranged an evacuation fleet to meet us there. Srina, I don't know if I've ever told you but I love you, I'll see you back on Ryloth sister." Please make it back to Ryloth, Tellu silently prayed as she walked along the cart her father looked up to her but she knew not of his gaze.

Raihane quietly took hold of Tellu's hand and it was then she caught his expression. He squeezed her hand to reassure her that he would be alright and then Tellu's attention turned back toward the many Echani who called to her. Once more she reached for the small communication device, kept on her robe by a clip. "Confederate forces, this is Viceroy Talon of Monastery - I'll be heading through the Farmlands. There's a spaceport to the south there, please have an evac fleet ready. We need to get the Echani off of Eshan, quickly."

The more they walked down what had been the Estates, and then the Commonwealth the more the crowd grew. There were those who would stay behind and then there were those who mourned, paralyzed by their grief unable to move. The rest took what they could and joined the Exodus with the hope and belief that the Goddess would provide for them and one day return them to Eshan. The mood had grown somber as the wails, and tears could still be heard throughout the large movement of people. Aeris whispered to her daughter, "we must encourage the morale, the journey to the Farmlands is not brief daughter."

Aarina caught part of what her mother said, and was about to make a suggestion when something caught her eye. It was then she realized what she was seeing, was a star destroyer heading for the capital. "Tellu!"

Immediately Tellu turned and saw exactly what her sister was looking at. Her eyes widened and seconds were going by, "SHIELD!"

Running would cause more harm than heal, Tellu created a Force shield and those sensitive to the Force, those who could use the Force lent their energies. Those who had mastered the Force also joined to help empower the shield. It felt as if what was left of Eshan had crumbled the sheer force of the impact sending out waves of destruction as builds began to crumble upon one another with the outer lying buildings crashing into the surrounding towns, villages, and estates. Children screamed and cried as children do, while the rest knew they had to hold the shield.

It had to hold, their entire existence depended on it. They knew not the fate of those on the other side of their estates, those to the north and the surrounding areas but Tellu, her mother, father - sister and the community around them. Pooled their collective energies together strengthening the Force shield as the aftermath of the Star Destroyer's impact flooded around them like the ocean around the jagged edges of rocks and earth. Tellu spoke to keep her focus, an Echani song - it started as a chant, "man ammen toltha i dann hen morn si dannatha nauva. Nauva..." She struggled to recall the words as her knees buckled and her arms reached out as if she had become Atlas and now held the Earth upon her shoulders.

She then heard her mother's voice, "ilfirin nairelma nauva i nauva. Ilfirin nairelma nuava i nauva ilfirin nairelma ar ullume nucuvalme nauva i nauva."

Her sister joined on the next turn lending her voice and energy as she too worked to uphold the shield. "Man ammen toltha i dann hen morn si dannatha nauva. Ilfirin nairelma nauva i nauva. Ilfirin nairelma nauva i nauva ilfirin nairelma ar ullume nucuvalme nauva i nauva." This chant could loosely be translated into, their love of the land and that that love was deeper than the depths of the sea and that their regret would be undying - what should be shall be. For many - it would seem to be an odd choice, but for those who knew the Echani knew that the love of their land, their home ran much deeper than most knew. Rather than run for the Farmlands and welcome certain death, they would hold their positions and embrace whatever it was that was to come. Whatever should be, shall be - the love for Eshan ran deeper than the depths of the sea.

By now many were knelt into the ground as the Force shield, a dome-like barrier flickered and threatened to buckle from the sheer force of the aftermath. Waves of destruction hurtled toward them, as death clawed along the shield. Scratching the surface over, and over like a Nexu who wanted their prey only to find the prey behind the glass. Tellu kept focus on the chant, and still in her mind, in her heart - her heart searched for her sister, searched for Srina. Her mind all but screamed her sister's name blood trickled down from her nose, spilled from the cracks that had now formed on her lips.

Goddess help them all.

Looked towards the obvious sith who commanded him to clear a path for him and his companions "Uhh, of course, but are you sure you want to go up there its really dange-" then OOM-330 gripped the edges of his tank as he felt the ground shift below them with such force that many B1s fell to their knees or into one another, MTTs shifted, and buildings swayed slightly at the force of what was a Star Destroyer crashing into the city limits "Oh my bolts! Where did that come from?" he exclaimed, motioning towards the looming structure of the crashed ship. Never in all his months had OOM-330 seen such an event. The command droid looked back to his unit and then said over their internal communications channel "Come on, get up, its not over yet!" slowly the B1s began to get back into formation, and the AATs & MTTs opened fire on their previous targets. The overwhelmed command droid was completely unaware of the additional forces brought over to his front. It was then that a debris the shattering ship hulls began to rain down on the B1 droids, a gigantic armor panel with shattered tresses came barreling into the mouth of the bridge. The panel ripped sideways through the duracret structure, in an instant wiping away all trace of Droid Battalion 330's infantry in a explosion of water. OOM-330 recoiled from the blast of air and then looked back to see that nothing remained of his forces. He put both hands on his head and shouted "Noooo! I just got promoted!"

The several tens of yards of bridge had disappeared into the lake, no bridge bound B1s were to be seen, and the MTTs were dripping wet from the wall of water. Only the Fourth Platoon of B1s remained which had fallen to the ground from the impact once more.

The ship shook, as the powerful blasts from the battleship hit the shields. Anton stared at the Heresiarch, in awe and wonder. It was such a beautiful ship, so elegantly designed, and streamlined. It's weapons held a delicious punch to them. How he would have liked to meet the designer of such under better circumstances, and talked shop. He took a deep breath. The sudden appearance of the destroyers changed nothing. He had his target, and he and all his men would die to take the Sith Lord down. It's what it meant to be Eternal. Back was held straight, as the final maneuver was carried out. The Angelic Fury took a pounding, but hid behind another ship, one of the carriers, to avoid the direct fire of the larger battle cruiser, as it could withstand the much more beating from the smaller ships. The ships took a small beating from the brief time the destroyers

Fighters/bombers/interceptors were in position right on top of the ship. All his ships were positioned to maximize the destructive ability of their weapons, regardless of the added danger to themselves. The Boom was above the Heresiarch, gun pointing down at the top of the ship, near its bow, completely perpendicular. The Eternal Glory was at an angle above the ship, pointed down, ready to aim it's massive composite laser at the bow of the ship. All around it was the ships. They were not afraid to die, due to the damage of the Star Destroyers. When each ship began they would ram into the larger Battleship. This was simply reality. Why change reality?

He thought about how things should go. First, they prepared everything, warmed up all the weapons and got them to their minimum charge. Then, they jumped, and raised the weapon charge to maximum. Especially for the giant compound laser at the front of the ship, this was important. Or else you got a weak shot like the Heresiarch gave to the ship it had been chasing. The weapon at the front of the Eternal Glory was a scaled down version of the laser used on the death star. True it wasn't powerful enough to get through a planet, but, it would overload the shields at the point of impact. Maybe not take down all the shields, but shields were a system of generators trying to keep up. It should overload at least one of them, lowering the shield at the point of impact, for at least a second. And so, a fraction of a second after the compound laser fired, the Boom would unleash its weapon at that exact spot.

The Boom was a Spearhead class cruiser. It was literally a 900 meter long rail gun, designed to throw a massive object at insane speed. It had a single hit, but that was because of the power behind the first shot was far more than engineers had been able handle effectively. It launched a 3000 metric ton depleted baradium slug. Inside was a low explosive core. The slug would be traveling at five percent the speed of light. That is nearly 15,000 kilometers every second. Or Once it hit the shielding compromised area, it should smash through the shielding, and literally punch a hole straight through the hull, and as it did, it would explode with the powerful warhead inside, sending the fast moving particles through the entire ship. At least, this should rip the entire nose of the ship off, destroying it, and the giant gun at the tip.

During this, all the ships would be firing endlessly at it, trying to force the shields to give way, or to keep the generators constantly running, so there was no strain left to spare. The carriers would fire their ion torpedos as fast as they could, disrupting shields, and trying to break what ever they could ionize technology wise, the destroyers and heavy cruiser would fire turbolasers, hypervelocity cannons, ion cannons, heavy torpedos, unleashing everything they had on the ships hangers. The escort cruisers would fire ions and turbolasers, coordinating with the Star Destroyer and Heavy Cruisers. Frankly, with that much fire power, the hangers should be reduced to rubble, as the shielding around them was always lesser so as to allow ships in and out.

Then the waves of fighters and bombers would also attack. They had been unchallenged, or targeted. Surprising. The eighty-four heavy bombers would head for the bridge. On the way to it, they would unleash their plasma missiles to overwhelm the shields of the bridge, before dropping their proton bombs on it, to utterly destroy the then weakened shields and armor. There would simply be to much fire power heading at it, in to much numbers to stop.

The Lancer Fighters would be using their torpedos to target the heavy U-beam turrets. Since they were large, and weaker parts of the ship, they would unleash as many torpedos as they could, to the what should be compromised ship. One by one the 216 Lancer fighters should target and destroy each of the U-beams. When the missile runs were done, they would go join up with the bombers, while making laser cannon straffing runs along the hull of the ship, targetting any defenses, or comm systems and the like that they could.

The 216 interceptors would be targeting anything that tried to escape, as well as actively attacking and trying to destroy escape pods before they could be launched, hugging the massive ship's hull, using their incredible maneuverability and decent speed to stay out of harms way.

Finally, the Angelic Fury, would launch boarding pods full of droids at two of the destroyers, unleashing a mechanical horde inside the two ships, in an attempt to sabotage and disrupt their ability to fight. Finally, it was time to make his plan happen.

“You may fire when ready.” Finally the ships opened fire in earnest. Mass Driver Cannons, Torpedos, Ion weapons, powerful turbo lasers that fired quicker than the Ubeams all began targetting the ship. The Eternal Glory pushed all available power into the Composite Laser, after charging it this long, and didn't fire any other weapons. The two beams coalesced together at the front of the ship, and fired instantly at the bow of the large Heresiarch, it would impact with the shields, at full power. A split second later, faster than could be seen, the Boom unleashed its massive 3000 ton shell, it flew at the ship's bow, straight and true, ready to rip the front of the ship off of it. Bombers opened fire with their weapons, first with their plasma missiles, to destroy the shielding as they approached. Once over the bridge, they began to unload their proton bombs right onto it. Hundreds of bombs fell at the ship's bridge.

The Lancer's unleashed wave after wave of torpedos at the Ubeams, most at the heavy, but plenty at the light ones as well, trying to disarm this beast. All the while, the Cruisers, carriers, escort ships, Star Destroyer, aimed a massive stream of fire power at the hangers. Once the Eternal Glory had fired its cannon it began to open fire with its large number of turbo-lasers and ion cannons. Its hypervelocity cannons began firing smaller shells as well, whipping them up to fast speeds to slam into the battlesip. Over and over, the Heresiarch would be the sole target of all the fire power. The Ties skimmed the surface firing at every escape pod they could find, and making sure nothing could escape from the ship.

From the ships of the Eternal Empire, all remaining shuttles, and transports were launched. Most flew towards the planet's surface, using evasive maneuvers to make it much harder for the ship based weapons to hit them. From the Angelic Fury, boarding pods, filled with Clanker Droids, were launched at extreme speeds, towards two of the 1000 meter craft, to bury in and attempt to cause havoc.

The Intredictor stayed in the shadows of the larger ships, it's gravity wells keeping both fleets firmly rooted to this battle, for as long as it could. The hell unleashed on the single battleship, was intense. The fire power of hundreds of ships was focused on it alone. As the massive Heresiarch maneuvered, all the ships would too, so that, no matter what happened, the largest gun was never pointed at any of them.

On Ground:

The five assault Drop ships unloaded their troops, and vehicles outside of the city, ready to pounce on it as needed. However, as they rose back up to orbit, to get more troops, the pilots spotted the massive star destroyer heading straight for the planet. Without thinking, two of them moved close, and hooked the grabbing arms on the ship and began to pull up. However, the ship was already picking up speed, and it was simply no use. The other three began to fire at the back, trying to break up more of the ship, so less mass, or to create more drag. As the ship boomed down towards the planet, one of the arms broke, and the ship spiralled almost out of control, but away from the ship. The last Dropship did not give up, the arm holding tight. As the vibrations threatened to tear it apart, the ship never gave up. Over the comm units, all was heard was. “For the Glory of the Eternal Emperor!” The pilot never gave up trying to pull the star destroyer up, even as it broke apart, even as it crashed into the planet, dying on impact, hoping to have pulled up the ship, just a bit, in a desperate attempt to make at least one of the sections not hit as much of the city.

Following a circuitous route around the city gave Jerek ample opportunity to observe the battle waging at the foot of a bridge leading to the palace that formed the centerpiece of the city. Droid forces of the Confederacy engaged the organic troops of the Mandalorians in a storm of different-colored lasers, explosions blooming as the heavier weapons traded shots. Though small, the battle was vicious, adding a new level of consternation to the Jedi youth's mind. He had few qualms about jumping into a dogfight between starfighters, there he felt at ease, but here on the ground the danger of the battlefield loomed greater in his mind.

His attention turned to Allya, looking to see how she would react to it. Behind her purple suit of armor, it was hard to measure her responses, causing Jerek to reach out to her in the Force. She felt calm, unperturbed by the scene ahead, as if she had seen it every day of her life. The thought twisted inside him, making the boy wonder if she truly had. A lifetime of war wrought harrowing changes even upon adults, and Allya was slightly younger than his mere sixteen years. When his own traumas became too much to handle, Jerek found comfort in the teachings of the Jedi, something that she didn't have to fall back upon.

It was another chink in the armor his mind had built up around the image of his girlfriend. The boy wished he could stop evaluating her and just like Allya for who she was! The Jedi inside him was at odds with that, and even with itself. Too many Jedi teachings spoke of the corruption of the dark side, of the evils it led to, of the addictive draw of its power. Yet so many Jedi teachings spoke of kindness and forgiveness, of understanding for the ways of others. Jerek liked the girl in Allya, but he struggled to accept the Sith in her.

Jerek blinked. The change in Allya was fast, the shift almost imperceptible. In one moment, she was a capable commander and warrior, sharp and in control. In the next, she was vulnerable, somehow hindered by a conflict that Jerek hadn't felt brewing inside her. She was in turmoil now, he could feel the emotions emanating strongly from the girl. From his position further back in the army, the boy quickly made his way up to her position.

Whatever had Allya embroiled in such a storm seemed to come from elsewhere, though Jerek could not tell from where. He stepped closer to her while she battled it, feeling the war within her rage. A dark power seemed to threaten her, seemed to be trying to consume her, and Jerek reached inside himself, searching for some way in which he could help. The techniques he knew through the Force were useless here, something like Force Valor might help, but he was unfamiliar with its usage. The boy could only stand by powerless as he felt the struggle beneath Allya's armored visage.

"I'm here, Allya. Whatever or whoever is hurting you, I'm here." Jerek took her hand in his, clasping it in his gloved fingers. He wished he could touch her directly, but the boy felt that would only assuage his pain, not hers. Moving his other hand up while he turned in front of her —only the two of them mattered in this moment— he placed it against her helmet above her cheek. "You can fight this. You can beat it." Jerek said, willing it to be true as if it were only that simple. Yet at the same time, he tensed, hoping against hope that he would not have to raise a weapon against his girlfriend.

He could feel the turmoil still raging inside her, but in the midst of it, a new power. A fire that burned against the storm, ripping through its currents before parting to reveal the Allya he knew once more. He could feel her, shaken and battered, but still standing tall beside him. He gave her a smile, his eyes crinkling with concern. He could not see hers behind the helmet's T-visor, but she might at least see his and whatever that could mean for her. He hoped it was enough.

"Jerek..."

His name came breathless upon her lips, and a haunting fear momentarily clutched his heart, but it was Allya once more. The boy's smile deepened as his expression smoothed, joy bursting inside as relief crashed over him. He marveled at her resilience, another layer growing upon the armor around her image in his mind. Jerek leaned his head against hers until their helmets touched, the closest the boy could get to the girl he liked, the desire to express his attraction in a more tangible manner was overwhelming. He had put aside those kinds of emotions once already today, but it took until Allya spoke again for him to bring his racing heart to heel and let his mind reassert control.

Nodding inside his helmet, Jerek stepped back to let Allya resume her command. Troops moved under her direction and arranged in a formation that confused the boy for a moment. Then he understood, nodding to himself even as she sought to explain it. "March them underwater?" he suggested, grinning cheekily as he did. The battle at the bridge was too focused on land movement, she was right. Sometimes the shortest distance between two points was not a straight line, but a curve instead. "Bring them up behind the bridge defenders and box them in."

It was a move he had seen used, and had helped execute in his starfighter. Now he was witnessing the equivalent on land. Watching from the sidelines was not as interesting as being in the battle itself, it was hard to tell how the action was transpiring from way out here. The tradeoff was worth it, though, staying safer out here. Even though he and Allya could handle themselves, Jerek wasn't confident about Micah's chances, and he would rather not see the Cathar boy caught up in the crossfire.

Micah was caught up with something, however. The boy shifted on Jerek's back, scrambling in a manner that made him think the Sith kitten was trying to stand up somehow. "What's the problem, Micah? What do you want?" The Jedi youth put his hands on Micah's feet, bracing them from the bottom to give them support and to keep the boy from falling backwards. Jerek glanced up as well as he could, the top of his helmet blocking his view of the boy out of the corner of his eye, but it put his face directly in view of a new sight on the horizon. He let out an even-toned, "Ohhhh chit."

Because hurtling down through the sky was the flaming wreckage of a star destroyer.

His jaw dropped in shock, working silently as Jerek watched the scorched vessel split in half, and the halves fall spiraling apart. One crashed towards the fringes of the city, smashing into some outer buildings, but the other continued on course for the city and the lake at its center. As it plunged into the earth and water, Jerek drew up close to Allya once more and braced himself as he heard screaming in his own voice, "Micah! Put up a protection bubble around us!"

Being treated as a porcelain doll was never something Spencer took well to. She knew her importance, she knew exactly how Srina, the masked man who spoke an odd language, and the elder Talon felt. Those feelings still felt fresh when she was with her Empress on the battle field against the Republic so many years ago. Debris fell and settled around her for just a moment, vague memories of a battlefield hung heavy in her mind, but she remained silent. Remnants of the Force still coursed through her body as the energy searched for an outlet. She held the reserved power after throwing the invisible energy constructs toward the fighter.

Her mouth was invaded by the respirator as she looked at the Echani exarch. Spencer didn’t question it, there was obvious a good reason and she trusted Srina for the most part. The woman was probably the only person in this galaxy she still trusted besides another. Inhaling fresh air, she looked towards the woman and the general who began to push back some sort of red smoke that was making its way towards them. Within the force, the smoke left a void and Spencer took a step back, retreating behind the Exarch and the others. The Matriarch did her best to hide her concern over the smoke and the void it left in its path – Spencer wondered if this was what the Mandalorians were about – shady tactics such as this. It was handled for the most part and Spencer pushed it from her mind since there were other things to deal with.

It seemed the butcher [member="Kaine Australis"] had more for them to deal with. Spencer rolled her eyes as she became bored with his primitive ways of attacking them. He would rather stay back and shoot them from a distance. He was a pest that she wanted to deal with quickly. There were others she had to deal with, like the traitorous scum that sat upon her throne. Her attention was on him and the shots he had fired, instantly a wall of the Force came up, but instead of just protecting the group – the bullets were pushed back, telekinetically being fired back towards the Mandalorian dog. Another shouted towards them, specifically the Exarch. Spencer looked towards the man who stood stating he was to be in their way.

Spencer pinched the bridge of her nose as she looked at Srina and raised an eyebrow. “Are you going to take out the trash or will I have to get my hands dirty?” Her tone dry as she didn’t look towards the man who stood and just stated his intentions. At least there was one with them that seemed to be interested in doing something. The large man beside them [member="Darth Tacitus"] began his work, despite the ill intent she felt from it. Seeing that his opponent was going to try and take advantage of his attention being split, Spencer took it upon herself to defend him.

He was here to defend her, (what she assumed) – so she was going to do her job to do so as well. Mentally, she channeled a small force valor for the small group, boasting their confidence and other mental assists. As the mental state of the group was protected, she also surrounded them with a force barrier protecting them from the sonic boom of the Banshee Queen ([member="Darth Banshee"]) along with the smoke that she focused upon Tacitus.

Also, there’s an SD, but there was so much going on Spencer didn’t give two karks for the time being.

From feeling all weird and strange due to the lack of opposition they had come across so far, they had reached a point of mayhem in a handful of moments. Madalena was still unsure of how it happened; their rears were safe up until a few breaths ago, and suddenly they were in danger of SLaM droids. There was no time to take more of the sight of the beautiful palace in, no time to fear of the water that was around and beneath it. [member="Cardinal Vi'dreya"] had mentioned the shield that they had to get to, but somehow the entire group now found themselves effectively sammiched between the palace and the city, with fighting happening on both ends.

The Sithling could feel the attempt at a bond, the wishes of [member="Adron Malvern"]. She frowned, pushing him away. She had no intention of doing that with him; she could hold her own without the help of one of the biggest douchebags she'd had the displeasure of coming across in the Confederacy.

Weapons were out. Madalena's dozen knives were in the air, swirling and moving with her as she controlled them through telekinesis, Copero's Wail joining them for that extra oomph. In her hands were her twin lightsabers, Fire and Smoke, the gift she had received from the current Master of the Silver Jedi Order, [member="Josh DragonsFlame"], and she slew the SLaM droids with them that dared come closer than she wanted them to. While the fight was brief, it was brutal. Within moments, droid parts that had wedged themselves into her flesh were sticking out from her arms and legs, major veins and arteries missed only by the mercy of the Force.

But she did realize. She did not notice, or know, about the parts of the SD that were coming towards them, falling from the sky. It was small parts first; little bits of debris clanked against them and the bridge. And then the shadows over them began to spread and she looked up. A big portion was coming towards the water. Another portion, not as big, but still big enough to take the bridge down, was coming right at them.

A sling of curse words in various language that would easily make many a-sailor blush exited her mouth.

Without asking, she grabbed both [member="Cay-Yo"] and his Gizka, calling up a Force Barrier just as @Cardinal @Vi'dreya had taught her, and she ducked, barely missing the weapon of another one of the droids that would've otherwise neatly cut her head off from her body.

And then the water came.

There was no time to scream or do anything. The bridge was falling and the wave from the tsunami caused by the wreckage of the SD that had fallen into it had smacked everything in Madalena's sight over the falling bits of the bridge itself, and Madalena was thrown backwards, water covering her from every possible side, including above and below. She didn't know whether or not she still had [member="Cay-Yo"] in her arms or not. She did not know if her head was facing up or down. All she knew was that she was entirely submerged.

And that was when Madalena began screaming in panic.

The first thing to come in war was calamity. Cardinal watched the droids began to thin out so that he and his group could move through the mass of automatons. Cardin's hand gripped the hilt of his sword as he charged, following behind Madalena's own attack. He watched as his friend and apprentice cut through the droids with a practiced skill. As his blade rose, attempting to carve into one of the SLAM droids, he could sense destruction on a massive scale. He pushed himself back, halting his attack, his eyes scanning the area as he tried to make sense of what was going on. In the next minute he heard what reminded him of an incoming muissile, rocketing towards him. That was when it began. The first of the debris he saw slammed in front of him, the size of a large speeder the man yelled out in surprise as he leaped back.

The Dominus Prime called out to those around him. "Take co-" His yell was broken apart as a piece of debris, no larger than a child's ball slammed into the side of his forearm. He let out a cry of pain as he gripped his arm. There was no more time to react, no more time to yell out in pain. As the bridge below him was shifting and faltering. Cardinal felt his feet come from under him as he slid down a mass of metal and concrete, drawing him into the water below. The bridge had fallen.

His sword fell from his hands, as his armor's HUD flashed with over a dozen warning indicators. The last thing he saw before his HUD flashed off was the sight of water, slamming into his vizor. Blind and unable to see, he could feel the weight of the water swarming around him, threatening to overtake him. His HUD had faltered and was desperately trying to reboot, but he did not have the time. Closing his eyes, he tapped a switch on the side of his neck which manually opened his helmet. The hard, cold, slap of water against him caused him to jerk back in the water. He could see nothing, but luckily with the connection established by the Exarch, his senses were heightened.

He could feel them around him, his friends had been taken by the water as well and when his hands reached out he could damn near claim them. The Dominus felt panic and fear as if it was his own. When he finally reached out far enough he could feel Madalena's hand. He swam closer to her, swimming until her arm had draped over his shoulder and he was able to support her. Together they would rise to the top of the waters while Cardinal continued to feel with the Force. He had to be fast, he could not save them all if he was not. Even now he could feel Cay-Yo, but he was not sure where the small being had gone....where was the tiny warrior?

First was the pain. A welcomed old friend, a reminded you were still alive. His limbs were strewn about, his body lumped up in the middle of the Bridge. His eyes opened wide, mouth gaping as a whispered anguish passed through his jaw, wheezing as he drew breath. A long groan escaped his lumbering form as the Chieftain set himself half upright against the Command console. His head reclined, closing the gap between his torso and the command console to rest his fragile cranium.

His small venture from sprawled mess to reclining giant had left a large black trial of blood from the centre of the ships extended observation bridge to the Command console. Observing his surroundings, he saw his Mace had fallen from its magnetic holster on his back, handily resting beside. He was fortunate it had not flown from sight. He winced, his crown felt splintered as Tathra suddenly became quite away of the shards of glass imbedded in his torso and face.

"Draggghhhhh..." The giant growled to himself, half amused and half tormented as he raised his hand - extreme pain shooting through his skull as he even attempted to move the shard lodged beneath his eye, half torn through his cheek. His eyes ventured away, attempting to distract himself from the pain as the destroyed parts of the Hermes head revealed his location. He was amidst the height of the conflict. All of it was happening here.

The elements had lent her the powers willingly today, Veronika thought to herself when her body continued to be charged up, her scalp feeling the strange sensation of her hair being tugged by the static electricity that seemed to only grow stronger. The spell she had summoned, the whimsy lightning storm had managed to strike two brutes on the ground, wounding them but they would live. If only the elements would grant her greater control, allowing her to increase the electrical charges, but no one could ever really bargain with the elements. Besides, the side effect of an EMP effect accompanying the lightning would be useful to disable some of the electronic components wielded by the enemies.

While the two brutes were down and crawled up to full height, others had followed their leader's instructions to continue firing their grenade launchers. The next attack was sufficient to break the barrier that Kasca had summoned to protect the Coven, but her fellow sister had already done her job to secure enough time for Veronika to conjure additional help. The blonde pointed her arm towards the remaining brutes to guide the storm towards their enemies. Sure enough, another bolt of lightning struck the ground towards the giant hulks, their sizes making them easy targets but the previous interaction had indicated their resilience against the lightning. At the same time, Fawn had used her own powers to push away the incoming grenades to mitigate the damage and dashed forward, her mount more than eager to chomp down the nearest brute.

"Grosck Bah'azet! Be gone or the elements will smite you!"

Veronika had no idea who the enemy leader was, but her voice was not hers, instead sounding like a roar of thunder. The blonde witch felt her mind touching the thoughts of another, an invisible body that seemed to crackle with never ending energy. The storm element was present, using her body as a medium to interact with the plane which the witches were on. She was still present, her body was still hers, but Veronika was more than just Veronika. Her vision was magnified by the power of the sky, expanding her view across the rest of the city. She pointed her hands towards Grosck himself, just in time to fire off a direct bolt of lightning at him before her mind screamed in horror.

She felt something looming towards her. No, it was looming towards the clouds. Something gigantic from space. She could sense the clouds parting ways, the metallic giant picking up speed to head towards the city. The star destroyer was bulldozing everything apart with its path of destruction, bringing down buildings and creating an aftershock that was heading out in all directions.

The witch willed herself up for a fight against the incoming shockwave, picking up the wind speed and turning it into a spinning whirlwind around the Coven. A piece of debris flew towards them was easily tossed away harmlessly into the ruins, while bigger pieces were broken up into bits of earth that rained down the sky. That was the best she could do with the storm while the ground battle raged on. She would leave the ground fight for her fellow sisters. It also helped that the Asher Mossa was among them. The presence of the shaman was a definite morale booster.

Her attention was stolen by the sound of a rumbling tsunami from a distance away. The bridge that stood in front of them was no more, replacing by a rising wave of water that had swallowed up a large number of Confederate troops. The blonde had no love for most people, but the Confederacy had treated her pretty well ever since she joined their ranks. She knew at least one woman who was at the bridge, a certain Madalena Antares who used to be known as Scherezade deWinter. Veronika had only interacted once with Madelena, but she was a bubbly woman who could polish a dozen of spicy chicken wings without batting an eyelid during a random meet up in a random cafe with [member="Srina Talon"] and [member="Darth Tacitus"]. Out of the three, Madelena was the most emotionally intelligent, though Veronika certainly hoped the brunette could slow down her eating.

"Are you thinking of saving her?" The familiar voice of Jart rang out in her mind suddenly, making Veronika surprised for a moment. She had no idea her patron spirit was still lingering around, even though she could only feel the presence of the raging storm within her. The witch expanded her vision at the bridge, seeing the rising waters swallowing up everybody in the vicinity. There was no Madelena in sight.

"Water. I need water."

She mouthed her words under her breath, her consciousness nudging the storm element aside to allow space for another. Her mind was soon occupied by a second body that sounded like a trickling stream of water. She set her sights at the tsunami that was eating everything up at the bridge which no longer existed, willing her powers to calm the waters. She found herself struggling to breathe, as if the waves were more than keen to suffocate her.

"Water... heel my command..."

Her voice was bubbly, as if someone had dunked her head into a pool of water. Veronika reached out for the raging waves in the far distance, searching for the missing troops who were taken by the waves. She managed to spot Cardinal Vi'dreya fishing out the submerged Madalena, but he seemed to be looking for more survivors. Veronika willed her mind towards the waves, willing them to obey her. Her body plunged into the chills when she did so, but she just needed a little more effort. The waters would listen to her plead as she began to push whatever Confederate survivors she could spot among the waters towards dry ground, leaving the enemies to drown in their deaths.

"Move... move... move...!"

Veronika finally could hold no more as she cut her assistance after another few moments, coughing aloud and kneeling down on the floor. She released the water element from her thought, her mind only focusing on maintaining the storm that she had originally channeled. It was too risky to command two elements at once and she was feeling the price she had paid.

"Must control... the storm..."

Danger. The sense overwhelmed him, crashing through his veins. Voph was in danger. He turned, gaze turning towards the sky. The crumbling corpse of a star destroyer looked back. A tug at the back of Voph's mind reminded him of Dromund all those years ago. But that ship had been considerably smaller. Debris began to rain around them, and Voph's lightsaber deactivated. He still kept his grip on it, lest it become lost in the chaos. The ground shuddered underneath him, and he heard Cardinal call out. Take Cover. Where? He turned to see Cardinal get thrown as the bridge collapsed underneath him. Voph lurched forward, trying to catch him. His hand grasped shut on empty air.

He cursed under his breath. "Delta one, bridge approach. Fly low." The rest of the structure began to buckle underneath him. He pushed himself to his feet, and began running back towards the mainland, calling on the force to keep himself stable. A large chunk of rubble was bearing down on him, and Voph summoned forth all of his energy to leap up, and over. He heard the familiar whine of the Octarch, and he brought his left arm up to point towards the fighter. A thin line snaked from his arm towards the fighter, wrapping around an exposed piece of tubing. The grapple line grew taut, and Voph was pulled away, now dangling from the bottom of the Octarch.

"Delta Squadron, Gamma Squadron, on my position. Reinforce the palace." His gaze turned towards the crashed ship as he continued, "Delta One, put me down on the palace roof." It was risky, and he'd be in the heart of Mando territory, but he couldn't shake the feeling things were about to get more complicated. Voph's brow furrowed. There was...something still down there. "Voph to all forces...There's something alive in the ship down there. It's...something I've never seen before."

As the fighter passed over the palace, Voph disconnected the grapple, and dropped to the roof, landing heavily. He stood, turning to look at the wreckage. What was that thing? A Mandalorian? It certainly wasn't Confederate. At least, Voph hoped it wasn't, considering the carnage in its wake. Still, Voph couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get worse. Much worse. "Voph to Scion. Retask any remaining shuttles to the Palace. We need to help the Mandalorians get Civilians out of here..."

Allya smiled, as the fight inside her came to an end, especially as the hand came to grab her' hand, and her helmet was touched. The girl turned to Jerek, and gave him all her attention. “I'm not in danger. It's just overwhelming. This was an act of love from my Uncle Adron. He is strong, and powerful, and thoughtful. It's just, his power is overwhelming for me. It's not exactly compatible, with the way I do things. So I had to shrug it off. He probably won't understand, but I didn't want to lose myself. I have to much I need to focus on, and I want to prove myself with my own power, if I can. Sith things, cyar'ika.” The girl took a deep breath to refocus herself. It was still there, that power ready to be grabbed. It sung like a sweet siren song, ready to take her over, promising so much power, that she could protect this boy who had come to mean so much to her.

As Jerek leaned on her, her cheeks went bright red. The soldiers and the clones she had become so close with chuckled at the moment, as the two love birds acted cute. To see a Mandalorian Sith act so flustered within her own armor, was a sight to behold. Even on the field of battle, she couldn't resist him. Armored hands rested on the sides of his armor. For a split second, head rested against armored head, her eyes closed, and she just rested like this. “Yes, the frontal assault is wasting to many resources. I should have brought amphibious vessels with me. If need be, I can use my scout fighters to provide minor air support, but I would rather not lose my eyes in the sky. Over all, if we can box them in, and force them to fight on two fronts, we win in this scenario.”

However, this joyous feeling of victory, and warmth from Jerek was short lived. As Jerek shouted, her eyes sprung open, and she checked her sensors. Two massive objects were coming at them. There was no time to plan, only to act. Comm systems made the droids in the water stop moving, and hunker down at the bottom of it all. They were on their own. Her vulture droids went up high, to avoid the coming shockwave. The other droids quickly pulled in closer to the soldiers. She shouted out an order to her organic soldiers. “CENTER! Brace for Impact!” Quickly they obeyed. The soldiers moved close to her and the droids, little distance between them. The soldiers kneeled down, and braced themselves.

Without a word, she pushed away from Jerek, and stood at the front of the group, just a few feet from him. He didn't let her get far away and she was puzzled, but just accepted it. She didn't want him to watch her die, but if it's what he needed, so be it. I'm sorry Jerek. Grasping hold of the power of Adron, she let it flow through her. Her eyes glowed purple, the dark side corrupted, and twisted inside her. It threatened to consume her, but she forced her will upon it, and wrangled it into submission. “You....will....obey....” Hands went out in front of her, and she concentrated. The group was simply to big, she had to focus. She couldn't protect herself too, but if she focused all of her abilities on them, hopefully her body would last long enough to see them through most of the damage. Please, be safe. Give me the power to make this happen. In her mind, she tried to connect to Adron. "Uncle Adron, hide! Star Destroyer is crashing into the city, brace!" The message was quick and hurried.

As the Destroyer crashed, she formed a protective bubble out of the force, surrounding above and below her troops, her droids, and of course, her most precious of people, Jerek. Oh and Micah was in there too, he was an adorable kitten, he needed to live too. They were a mere step away, but the bubble now separated Allya from Jerek, as she held it, from the outside. She grit her teeth, and prepared for it. Small, fast moving pieces of debris hit her, but mostly bounced off the beskar. But the shock wave was incoming, and it wouldn't be long before her resolve was truly put to the test. No matter what happened next, so long as she had breath in her, she would hold this barrier, and not let anything inside. Not the rising water, not the massive concussive shock wave, the large flying debris. The power it took strained her, it took every ounce of power she had to keep it up, and all the focus she could muster. But it didn't matter. Everyone would go home. It was okay. She was here to protect them. No matter the cost.

“Down!! Find cov-!“, Iapo heard her commander’s voice through the comms. A second later a blaster bolt was hitting her shoulder piece, only an inch away from her head.
Reflexively she pivoted on herself and ducked. Another blaster bolt singed her boot. Her eyes landed on the grim expression of an Eshanti a dozen meters from her with his blaster directed towards her. She lifted her blaster and her blaster bolt found its mark.
She turned around just in time to see the commando closest to her stumble back from the impact of a blaster impact.
Iapo got her left arm around his chest before he crashed to the ground. With the right, she shot on the direction of his aggressor. With a yank she got her fellow soldiers arm around her shoulders and dragged him back between to tents, keeping a lookout for a medic.

For a few seconds, it gave her the time to take in the situation. The Eshanti in the camp seemed to have turned on them and now the attacks were coming from everywhere. The medical camp had turned into a death trap in less than a minute. Iapo looked back down at the commander she’d gotten out of the fray and blinked. The man wasn’t moving or emitting any kind of noise. She carefully got his helmet off to check his pulse but instead, the moment the helmet was off, she got blood seeping through her finger and staining her armor. The man had got a killing blow to the back of the head and she hadn’t noticed.

The young woman forced herself to a calm stillness she wasn’t feeling. She did not know this man, personally, but dammit, she was one of them now and that extended her loyalty to all the men and women of the Dauntless commando implicitly. She wasn’t left any time to accommodate the body or sort her feelings when two Eshanti erupted between the two tents in which she’d found refuge.
She was kneeling and weighed down by the body. Luckily the two Eshanti had stopped in surprise for a second and the first fell before he’d really noticed her. She wasn’t so lucky with the second. She jumped back to her feet but felt the force of a blast making her stumble back a step and an acute pain in her thigh informed her that the blast had pierced her armor. The other man did not get another shot in, however, because he was shot down by another commando on the other side the narrow space between the tents.

Iapo nodded at the other commando and went for her second pistol. She stepped out from behind the tents and quietly shot two Eshanti who were targeting the bulk of the commando forces still located in the center of the open space.
The scene before her wasn’t reassuring. What the Eshanti lacked and skill they made up in numbers and several Mandalorian guards and the droids that had been posted around the camp had joined the fight. Iapo was situated slightly behind a few of them and she was about to take advantage of her situation. Mercy had never been her strongest attribute and she had no time for it now.

She got a few successful shots in before she had to duck away from blaster shots again. Here, trying to navigate the fray of battle she was noticing her inexpierience more than she usually did, everything felt as if it was moving to fast for her to follow and the light shaking in her left hand, from fear or overexertion, she did not know was affecting her aim.
Iapo managed to hide behind a larger provision tent and spared a moment to recharge her blaster before moving again, away from a droid who had located her. It took her more times and shots than she would have liked before she got to hit the droids and then again only in the leg part. By the time she had disarmed it her thigh was bleeding more than sluggishly. Iapo selected to take a few seconds hidden behind the crates of provisions especially because the droid had given her an idea. She activated her com and somewhat breathlessly relayed her idea.

“Iapo Sim on the comms. I retreated behind one of the larger provision tents and I may be able to hack the droid's programming, depending on the code they used. If you see a droid attacking enemy forces, spare him for now.”

Then she began to prie away the backplate of the droid to see what his programming looked like.

There was too much happening all at once. She had managed to get the young injured man taken to one of the hastily erected shelters in their small encampment, and she trusted those with medical training to ensure he was well taken care of - and she'd been turning back to Helly to try and get her focused on the task at hand, but as she did she felt more than saw something far above them. It was in the blanket of silence and stillness that had begun around her, the number of upturned faces that all became blank with a horror that spoke to a great danger... When she turned herself on her heels and glances skyward she knew exactly why it was that they all held so still, why all faces that could, had drained of colour... She distantly heard over coms that there was a retinue of fleeing Echani that required assistance outside of the city being extracted...

The ship that was plummeting from the sky was wreathed in flames and larger than was avoidable for any in its path. Everything seemed to fall into stillness, the terrible silence that encompassed them all was deafening. She realized just a moment before the tip of the Hermes crashed into the capitol that she'd been holding her breathing - and it came from her in a rushing cry as the ship made landfall.

The shudder seemed to take an eternity to reach them, everything in her perspective slowing and becoming stark in the reality of what this would cost in lives. When it finally reached their camp it came with it a blast of air that sent anything smaller than their medical droids flying. Valencia was staggered on her feet as she was buffeted with the impact, her arms flying upwards to protect her face as debris and dust were kicked up all around the encampment. As it started to die down, she carefully lowered her arms and looked around her - everything was a mess. The frown that painted her lips was fierce, and she immediately set to work. Her barked orders were sharp and carried easily over the horrified silence that had settled across all those still left standing in the camp.

"That's it! Get everyone back into the transports! We can't be this close to the city! Anyone who can be transported needs to be moved to the ships immediately - all medical staff needs to assist with their transport!" She hurried into the now dangerously leaning shelter that Subject 5 had been moved to and made sure that he, along with all others inside, were being moved hastily onto the evacuating pods. With all that set into motion, she turned her attention back to her coms, her face falling as she heard the chatter. The bridge was destroyed, there were a number of CIS forces who were not responding... Her fingers flexed at her sides with an itch to do something.

She glanced around what was left of the camp and knew that she was going to be absolutely no help at all. There was nothing that she'd be assisting with going forward - and as such, she needed to make better use of herself. Valencia turned on her heels and rushed to one of the shuttles that had been moving medical supplies around the city where they were required. She halted their unloading processes and demanded to be taken to the location of the last com message received from the evacuating Echani people.

As the shuttle began to take off, she opened her coms and announced that she was unroute to the Echani people with medical supplies to assist with their evacuation. With that done, she strapped herself into one of the empty seats in the cargo hold and pulled the datapad from the satchel at her waist. She settled it in her lap, turned the volume on her communicater to maximum, and began to rapidly sift through all the reports that were coming in piece meal from the battle in the city - hoping that all those whom she'd come to care for were accounted for and safe.

Mig nodded to Sanya, looking over at his clan mates, waiting for her to finish to respond, but soon heard something. He looked up to see the queen use the Force to send a blast of energy toward what looked like ion bolts. He quickly flipped on his comms while Sanya screamed to her troops, calling on his own. "All droids, Mando'ade, and armor, get moving, now!" He ignited the lightsaber edges of his Tracy'kad, looking to his current partner as she gave him the option to follow her. He then turned to his vod and droids. "Ok, vod! Some of us will push now, others will fortify this location! Artillery be ready!" As Mig began to run forward, followed by a quarter of his force, and all but one Mando'ad'jetii, he heard an explosion. He turned back to see one of the Arachnids had had its leg damaged. The walker wouldn't be as mobile as the others now, plus some SLaMs got caught in the explosion, cutting 10 of them offline.

As he turned back, opening his comms again. "Vipers, search from the air, and avoid civi...." The alor was interrupted by the sounds of multiple explosions raining down. A Gred fell to blasts of... sand? A couple of others were injured, and some SLaMs were caught. Ilik quickly ran up to the injured, doing the best he could with the sand blasting, or concussive blast they took. The armor caught in the blast soon realized their targeting systems and radars were being scrambled by something, plus the sand was blocking visuals. The Claymores used their booster to lift ten foot off, trying to get above the cloud the had just been fired at them, while the other vehicle drivers just had to push through it. The Mando'ad'jetii thought quickly, only taking enough time to push away some of the cloud around the charging Mandalorians.

As Mig ran forward though, a familiar darkness hit him. He turned to see something terrible. A Star Destroyer, falling from the sky. "Osik," he muttered, his comms still being scrambled by the dust. He couldn't get to the Vipers to send them to do... something. Anything! He didn't have time to watch it, he continued forward, felling those who died as the massive ship's parts slammed into the ground. This wasn't what he wanted. This wasn't what anyone here wanted. Ok, maybe some Mando'ade and Dar'manda wouldn't care, but not most. To be honest, this didn't help the situation for anyone. A self-anger came to Mig's mind, but he tried to shake it. That ship wasn't his fault, but still.... What was he going to do?
