{+} "My Resolve Will Not Falter"- Cardinal was born and bred as a warrior of his clan. The warrior's of his homeworld held to a strict code of loyalty and honor. To break this code is to be damned to a place of suffering and solitude where one's warrior being will be stripped from his soul and leave only a desolate husk for the soul to inhabit for all eternity. Nothing will compromise Cardinal's beliefs, for he it would mean the end of him and everything he holds dear to him.
{+} "The Warrior Draws His Power From His Heart"- Although he can have a cold, distant personality the man is extremely empathetic and compassionate. His childhood was based within a structured clan that believed in protecting those who could not defend themselves. Even in his later years Cardinal holds close to those beliefs.
{+} "A Sharpened Mind is Greater Than A Dull Sword"- When referring to Cardinal it is not out of the realm of possibility to use the term prodigy. Over the years he has revealed an advanced capacity to improve his skills and seek enlightenment in the ways of The Force.
{+/-} "We Are All Subject To The Whims Of The Force"- Like the Jedi. Cardinal believes The Force is a greater power to be respected and honored. While he does not necearily view it as a form of deity or god he does believe it is the power that binds and controls the flow of the galaxy.
{+/-} "No One Is Above Justice"- Cardinal believes in The Rule of Law above all things. In this regard Cardinal is cold and disconnected, believing the law to be incorruptible and infallible he will stop at nothing to see it's will fulfilled.
{-} "The Blood of Evil Flows Through My Veins"- The blood of the Sith is present in Cardinal and is the cause of his sunburnt eyes. His Sith blood gives him an innate disposition to the Dark Side of The Force. Through years of discipline Cardinal has remained mostly uncorrupted however there is a noticeable darkness within him that he worries about.
{-} "My Trust Is Reserved For Those Who Have Earned It"- Rough years have led Cardinal to be wary of those he meets. Even those he has known for years are not above his suspicion. He often believes the galaxy is filled with the corrupted and dishonest who would sooner betray him than lead him to salvation. Because of that he can come off as cold and disinterested to many people, save those few souls he has given his trust to within the Knight's Obsidian and the upper workings of The Confederacy.
{-} "The Pain Only Ends When I Become One With The Force"- Ever since he was a young man Cardinal has lived with an endless pain due to Sith experimentation on him. Although it is not a pain that is purely physical it is seemingly never ending, a piercing coldness that often centers itself deep in Cardinal's chest and spine.
Cardinal is an apparently healthy middle-aged near-human that is slightly tall for his species. He has thick black hair and usually maintains a neat, yet healthy beard. One of his most noticeable features are his eyes which are a bright mixture of orange and yellow. The bronze skin man can usually be seen sporting a head full of well-maintained locks that fall down to his chest and upper back.
Hosting a muscular build that is built with more stamina than outright strength, he has a series of scars that cover his body from near head to toe. Most of the scars are faded and unnoticeable, from small wounds in his past days. However there is a long diagonal scar that runs from his left shoulder to the right side of his abdomen, that scar is large and glaring where the others are minor scrapes in comparison.
Cardinal was born on a small, simple, planet embedded deep in the outer rim. On the edge of Confederate space the planet was a savage world covered in hot wet jungles and large, seemingly endless, oceans. The entire planet seemed built to destroy those few sentient beings that inhabited it. Born into an unforgiving world, he was the son of Torak and Crane, two warrior's of note among the Skor Clan.
The Skor Clan was one of the smaller villages that inhabited their world and as such was targeted by many of their rivals in the jungle. This brought on a near endless state of war that forced the clan to train their warriors at increasingly young ages. When Cardinal was born, the Skor clan had roughly one hundred members, of them eighty were battle proven warriors, the rest made up the children yet too young to fight. For obvious reasons, few people made it to elder years and instead became one with The Force early in their lives. By the time Cardinal had reached the age of thirteen and named a warrior of the Skor Clan, only thirty-three members of the clan remained. Along with his parents most of their warriors had been killed by raids from rival clans. With only twelve men and women capable of defending their people, the Skor were facing extinction. However, as what often happened when a group was facing extinction, they were forced to evolve and become something more.
For the Skor, this evolution had occurred years before in their blood. Several of their youngest warrior's were born with an exceptional midi-chlorian count, making them innately skilled with The Force. Although they knew nothing of the mystical powers of The Force, when they had matured into warrior's they found tapping into it's powers to be second nature to them. Using these powers, the Skor Clan's warriors were able to defend their brothers and sister's from the enemy clans. Known as the Guardians of the Skor Clan, Cardinal and his brethren took on the task of keeping their clan safe until it could rebuild.
With their abilities, Cardinal believed they would be able to keep their clan safe until it had healed from a lifetime of war. They were easily defended their lands for years, until their enemy changed into something far vicious from their rival clans.
When their new enemy fell upon them the Skor Guardians were nearly defenseless during the onslaught. Swords and arrows were not match for the hardened blasters and metallic war machines their enemies had brought and not one of the swords that the Guardians wielded was capable of withstanding the power of a lightsaber.
Sith rogues, who broke off from the original One Sith Empire had been searching the Outer Rim for a safe haven where they could lick their wounds and rebuild in peace after their defeat to the Galactic Alliance and Fel Empire. They had stumbled upon the Guardians and the Skor clan by accident, but what they found was perfect for their plans. Most of the Guardians had fallen during the first battle, with only Cardinal and two of his brothers surviving, the rest of the Skor were slaughtered mercilessly.
The Sith subjugated Cardinal and the final two Skor to all manner of torture and pain. Where Cardinal believed it was a sick game, it was preparation for an experiment, one that would make the Skor into mindless beasts of war. A tool to be used against their enemies.
When it came time for the experimentation, the other Skor died almost immediately. They had been infused with The Dark Side of the Force in a raw manner that was well beyond the capacity any human could withstand. Cardinal survived, though his spirit had been broken in the trials. While the experiment had ultimately been a failure it did help the Sith realize something about Cardinal that even he did not know. The blood of the Sith flowed through him. It was that blood that saved his life from the wicked Sith experimentation and this blood that caused the terrible backlash. The experimentation done on Cardinal had effectively halted his aging process to a crawl. The Sith believed he was ageless, he believed he was immortal, regardless the outcome was Cardinal's presence in The Force was forever scarred and his life would be a longer for it.
Cardinal spent years with the Sith. They forced him to reveal all he knew about his homeworld including the location of the other clans that dotted the world. Broken and shattered, his mind was practically lost and he was deemed useless to the Sith for years, kept only as a reference for future experiments. This cycle continued for hundreds of years, yet it would come to an end. Eventually the Sith lost their own lives to an even greater being. [member="Darth Metus"] , the would-be Vicelord of The Confederacy had been hunting the Sith in the Outer Rim and tracked them to Cardinal's homeworld. Mercilessly he ended their lives and stumbled upon a shattered Cardinal. Taking pity on the man, or perhaps seeing a use in him, Metus saved Cardinal from his hell and even helped rekindle his shattered mind. From then on Cardinal vowed to serve Darth Metus until the end of his days. He vowed to never again let the weak fall under his watch, and he vowed to always grow stronger until he finally became one with the Force.
When it came time for the Vicelord to choose who would lead the Knight's Obsidian, there was no question.
