Cake by the Ocean (The Coalition Dominion of Arkas)

Satisfied, Mullarus deactivated the lightsaber and clipped it onto his belt, standing up and placing his mask on, pulling his hood up as well before beginning to trek down the beach toward the disturbance he felt in the Force.

Slavers. I remember hearing some of the other Jedi mentionkng the reason the Coalition came here. Time to put this new lightsaber to use...if need be, of course.

However, as he trekked the loose Arkas sand, he saw a familiar figure in the distance. Her presence felt familiar, and after training with her so much, he had a feeling he immediately knew who she was. She was a bit unrecognizable with her chocolate-colored hair up in a bun, and as Krux drew closer, he realized she wasn't wearing any robes. In fact, she looked amazing. Too bad he had stuff to do, or he would have loved to join her.

Can't hurt to say hi, right?

Krux drew closer to her and waved at [member="Valae Kitra"], starting to feel overdressed. Maybe sometime, he'd feel comfortable enough to go maskless around her.

"Valae!"

She must have not heard. She began going out into the water. He was about to join her when he noticed the tide seemed to pick her up off of her feet and whisk her away. He chuckled, drawing nearer and figuring she was just having fun.

Until she didnt come back up.

"Oh hell, Valae!?"

Still no answer.

Feth me

Against his best judgement, Krux tore off his mask and shed a few layers of his robes until his scarred torso was exposed, leaping into the tides and starting to swim out to her. Sure, Krux hadn't done a lot of swimming himself. He was no fish, but he took lessons as a child on Anaxes and went for fun every now and then.

He had trouble opening his indigo eyes underwater, but he saw the familiar figure under the water and struggled to fight the tide and get to her. He started trying to Force Push his way through the water, which didn't work, so he grit his teeth and grabbed her arm with a Force Grip, a large, imaginary hand grabbing her and starting to pull her toward him.

Webbed hands deftly paddled in the water, iced blue eyes taking in the surrounding ocean paradise. Makai had been to many ocean worlds in his life and his home was right on the beach. He found every one to be different and unique, a new feature to explore. Sometimes it was massive coral reefs, like on Mon Calamari. Sometimes it was an endless kelp forest, like in the oceans of Ceto back home.

Arkas was excellent for surfing. His mother had taught him how at an extremely early age. Being a half-Galan water was his life. He was naturally equipped with gills and webbed hands and toes that appeared in the water. Blue-ish scales were scattered all over his skin, glimmering lightly in the early morning sunlight.

Glancing behind him, Makai noticed the swell growing. His paddling quickened, pushing himself ahead of the wave as it grew. Soon, he was standing up in a slightly crouched position, accelerating quickly towards the shore. Knees bent, Makai tried to cut parallel towards the shore, but quickly wiped out.

It was a tumble of waves and sand, the surfboard attached to his leg acting like a small buoy. The curly-haired boy soon surfaced, shaking water from his hair like a shaggy dog. Sliding belly-first on the board, he paddled towards the shore, not seeing anyone around.

The sand was white and smooth. Water ran in rivers off his neon-plaid swimshorts, the same ones his father had. Feet were leaving wet prints all over. Surfboard under one skinny scale-speckled arm, Makai set forth exploring the shoreline.

Matsu continued to look upon the beach while she was listening to the sounds from the ocean as she continued to work on the metal focusing the force into it. Slowly sifting through it to insert small crystals for the metal just like they had with the channeling gauntlet. She knew there were a number of others in the jungle, hell she could hear the indications from the wrist pad the probes were sending her information wise as she looked over some of the things rubbing her hands across the metal to spread some more of the crystal and implant it within the aurodium. She had some of her researchers working to coordinates and lay ut areas they could construct facilities to help the locals.

She could see the shore from her vantage point in the middle of the waves, it didn’t look so far away, yet she couldn’t seem to get any closer. For a brief moment she thought she could see the figure of a person standing there in the distance. Valae wanted desperately to call out for help, but her voice was trapped behind her rasping breaths. She only hoped that if there was someone on the shore, that perhaps they had seen her. Valae's legs kicked and her arms swung about wildly, managing to break above the surface to take a last gasp.

Valae held in her last breath for all that she could, her arm stretched up towards the sky as she went under. Her eyes were still on the sky as she was pushed further down by the next crashing of a wave. A few bubbles escaped her lips, and she watched them float to the surface. It seemed like an easy thing, to float on the water, but it was a task made more difficult when trapped in the choppy surf.

In the space of a moment, a flurry of thoughts bombarded her panicking mind. From beneath the waves, the light of the sun looked even more beautiful. The embrace of the ocean really wasn’t all that bad; there were far worse ways to die. And if she was to die, she would be happy to reunite with her father. The frantic thoughts were starting to fade into a peaceful calm, and she stopped struggling, letting the ocean carry her.

Slowly the darkness was closing all around her, and she couldn’t help but start to give in…

Well Théo was going to show off his own shorts too! How cool are they!

In the distance, Théo could see a dot on the horizon. It was something in the water which appeared to be .. riding a wave!

Immediately he jumped up excited, but failed to remember where he was and hit the top of his head on the shack. "Awwhha", he grabbed for the back of his head bending over and crouching with the pain. He would have a lump. He stood up rubbing the spot but found the dot again, now walking along the beach and so Théo started off toward the person.

As he approached, he was surprised to see it was a kid, hard to tell how old and so he looked around for a adult. "Hey ther*crack*e", he yelled out on coming nearer. Ugh, silly voice breaking. "You looked good *crack* out here", he hoped the kid would not notice his strange voice, but nodded his head toward the waves.

He pointed to the board, "Where did you get that?". It was now Théo noticed the kids skin and webbing. He did not look like his friend [member="Zak Dymo"], no dangley bits on the head but it was clear the kid was aquatic. "Your parents *crack* about?", now wandering what a kid this young was doing out here by himself. Same could be said of Théo of course but he is a little older and with a strong mind of his own.

Mullarus frantically pulled Valae closer to him as he himself began to drift outward away from the shore. The Force Grip he held on her arm held tight enough that he hoped it didn't hurt, but he figured it was more important that she just survived. Finally, he managed to pull her in close enough to grab her hand with his real hand and pull her into his arms, turning around and swimming up quickly, his eyes aching from the long exposure to the water. He closed them, gritting his teeth and letting out a painful groan as he began to surface.

He breathed in a giant gasp of air when he reached the surface, making sure to keep Valae's head above water as well. Was she even conscious? He couldn't tell, and he didn't really have time. Fething hell, Force guide me! he thought as he quickly paddled his feet behind him and started to make his way back to shore. Fighting the retreating tides was exhausting, however, so he again needed aid from the Force he controlled to swiftly push his way ashore.

Finally, once there, he dropped tiredly to his knees and set Valae down on her back, watching for a moment to see if she would breathe. He grew impatient, and started to push down on her lungs like an amatuer. Truth be told, Mullarus had no idea how to perform CPR, but hopefully this was working. "C'mon, dammit, breathe...!"

Ice-blue eyes were scanning the shore line, looking for sea glass. Makai had a special spot for the odd bits of 'trash' as he found them to be interesting. Arkas seemed to be fairly underpopulated at the moment but it didn't mean glass couldn't show up. Battles, crashes, pieces of old relics could still be around just washing up on the beach with no one to pick it up.

Beyond the gentle roar of the waves there was a voice. Someone was yelling at him. Maybe his father? The voice didn't sound deep enough, so Makai turned around. An older boy was approaching him, wearing some awesome shorts of his own. He seemed to have trouble speaking, his voice cracking on certain words. Makai was looking him over, perhaps he wasn't human but humanoid(a bit like himself) and Basic wasn't his first language.

Either way, it was rude to ask.

"Thanks. " Hand went to shake the older boys in greeting and he quickly stopped. Looking his hand over, the webbing had all but faded way. Folks didn't like weird things. Sometimes his scales were one of those weird things. Makai put his hand out again in greeting. "The board? I got it from home."

"My Dad is around the island here, there's a cove..... Where are your parents?"

Makai nearly forgot his manners and reached down, unhooking the leg strap attached to his ankle. The board made a slight movement in the direction of the older boy.

"Wanna try?"

" 'Get up, scum.' " The hulking form of the lizard once more filled Krest's view, this time with a sinister smile plastered on those reptilian lips. " 'You're gonna be going into the pit. Ready to get to work? I hope not, cause then I can watch that smugness get beaten right out of you again.' " Krest declined an answer. A light cackle rose in the Trandoshans throat as he lifted the Zabrak up and dragged him to what was known as the 'pit'. Which it was, just an open pit with a bunch of walls around it. Almost like an arena, huh. Wait. Blue eyes darted around this ring to see other unlucky souls being gathered up. This -was- an arena.

Shit.

So this is how it was going to play out, huh? Welp. Time to improvise. Plan was to start up a slave rebellion the long, meaningful way, but if they were gonna make him kill some poor souls that was gonna have to go. His robotic arm raised up just enough, and with a quick twist he slammed the metalic elbow right into his guards chest. A crack sounded off as bone broke against durasteel, followed by a sharp gasp of pain as the Trandoshan doubled over. Krest finished the lizard with a swift uppercut of his fist, cracking open yet another bone. The lizard dropped dead just in time for the others to notice what had happened.

" 'Kill him! The slave killed Krantok!' "

So that was his name. Blaster fire from the couple of nearby guards, but Krest was already on the offensive. From his robotic thigh came the saber he had hidden, and the green blade snapped to life just in time to knock one of the deadly bolts from slamming into his chest. "I'm not one for speeches, but you slaves who don't wanna be slaves anymore, fight!" Not that it really worked, or at least at first. The guards firing at him had their own 'gladiators' who quickly turned on them. A larger human with a scarred up face took down his with a quick snap of the lizards neck and took up his blaster. The others followed in suit, and soon there were four armed slaves nodding to the Zabrak, and dead lizards.

"Well, that worked. You know where the rest of the people are? Gotta free them all, right?" They nodded, and they were off. Time to get started.

She could feel a lot of things here now and moving quickly the jedi knight focused the force. Stopping one of the slavers coming at her as he was clutching his stomach and then was on his knees. She was focused on him, on his body and constricting the blood vessels while he was going to sleep. "Sleep now." She said it casually and could feel her padawan while he seemed off and she wasn't one to pry or force him. He had plenty of freedom to do as needed just not go crazy otherwise she would send him into a hibernation trace for a couple years to cool down. Well that was if he needed it really while she was going and moved to the side extracting her lightwhip the mechanical whips came out ready to strike somethings with healing cracks. She could hear something as she looked and her padawan was there, coming to join her cause quantum before her movement stilled a moment. THings seemed to slow down while blood pumped in her ears and then something blasted his mask and she felt a flicker of something but suppressed it lashing out with her whip as the tails swatted down a slaver. "Ryn."

The lightsaber hilt was an electronic device, but it was also more than that. Exact descriptions varied from person to person, and reasons why too. However, when it came right down to it, the electronics could be fairly basic even for someone like Audren, who had next to no knowledge on the matter. Many of the same pieces were present from hilt to hilt and most of the hilts and blades followed the same general design. Sure there were outliers such as the lightwhip or darksaber, but otherwise the shapes and size differences were minor. Most of the pieces could be found at any electronics store, and he was sure the Coalition stockrooms would serve up most of them.

The unique point of each lightsaber seemed to be the focus crystal, which was also made it more than just an electronic device. The Force played a hefty part in the crystal and throughout the hilt. Most people used unique crystals as mass-produced or synthetic ones rarely worked well enough. The common one was a kyber crystal, though almost any kind could be used. Adding additional crystals seemed to enhance the blade in various ways, and different gems created differently-colored blades.

While the lightsaber was a powerful tool - or weapon, depending on who was asked - there were weaknesses. The most common was cortosis, the pure form of which could short out a lightsaber's blade for a brief period of time. Other materials showed resistance to the energy weapon, some of them markedly so. Yuuzhan Vong weapons and armor, for example. A lightsaber not designed for use underwater would short out in short order. There were ways around the issues of course, but they ranged from the simple to fiendishly complex.

A distant sense of panic through the Force attracted his attention. Further down the beach - barely within view - he saw someone splashing in the water and someone else rushing into the surf. Clearly not the playful kind of splashing. For a bare instant, the Sephi contemplated returning to his studies; he wasn't that great a swimmer after all. That idea was ultimately disregarded: he was a Jedi and Jedi helped those in need. He was on his feet quickly, datapad going into one pocket and lightsaber into another. Couldn't leave that lying around for just anyone to grab.

Even at full sprint, the Knight didn't arrive in time to help in the water. As he slowed to a stop, the male he'd seen rushing into the water was pulling a female out. She was instantly recognizable as [member="Valae Kitra"]. A subtle change in angle showed the man to be the same Sith that Audren had tangled with on Thyferra and almost attacked on Voss. [member="Krux Mullarus"]. This was his chance to eliminate an enemy, a Sith who had no doubt been the one to cause Valae's distress in the waves...the lightsaber in his pocket found a hand. But no, he was a Jedi, and attacking without warning was wrong. His hesitation was proven beneficial when the man spoke and began basic chest compressions.

"C'mon, dammit, breathe...!"

Trying to save her? Maybe it was a nefarious purpose, but Audren couldn't let Valae die just to thwart plans. She, at least, was a Jedi. Crouching a safe distance away from the Sith, the Knight's gaze found the prone girl, then defocused somewhat. There, fluid in the lungs. Some was being forced out by chest compressions, but he could speed the process up with the Force. At the same time, what little healing energy he could muster was focused on the girl. Lack of oxygen had already started to damage her cells. The healing energy wasn't enough to restore them, barely enough to stave off more damage. For better or worse, he and Mullarus would have to work together.

Objective: Kill pirates/slavers, claim territory for Eldorai.

Explosions, gunfire, chaos, Kaida felt right at home. Despite the danger, this was what she loved most. Well, that and obviously [member="Coryth Elaris"]. But outside of the sweet redhead, the deadliness of the bolter, the havoc and chaos of battle was the most exciting thing in her life. Especially since the slavers were in retreat. The beach had fallen to the Eldorai, their enemies were trying to perform a fighting retreat into the caves and jungle. Unfortunately for them, there were the aforementioned Mag'ladroth walkers.

They were bipedal, controlled by a single pilot, heavily armed and armoured. Conveniently, the lighter variant could be propelled via jet wings. As slavers took to the hills they swept down from the sky, crushing slavers beneath their feet and unloading their firepower upon them. One arm of a walker ended in a flamethrower, the other in a heavy bolter. The other was outfitted with a massive electro-cestus and a shattercannon. The result of this onslaught was predictable carnage.

Fleeing slavers were stomped, cut to pieces or simply blown apart. The air was filled with their cries of pain and lamentations, along with the sound of explosions echoing across the beach area. Now that a beachhead had been established, further reinforcements in form of regular Eldorai soldiers poured in as their hovercraft made for the shores.

"Seraph, enemy forces are fleeing to the forest. Orders?"

Her lightsabre stabbed right through the helmet of a Trandoshan, burning through his face. "Don't pursue. Call command and request a bombing run. We're taking the caves."

"Would be easier if we just dropped the caves on the scum," Host Leader Ynnead commented practically as she moved down for cover alongside Kaida and, drawing upon her Sciia, raised a couple tiny rocks to send them flying towards slavers at railgun speed. Ouch. Then a bolter salvoe did the rest.

"They have slaves," Kaida pointed out. Tone was stern, cold, unyielding. In other words, typical Angelii officer, minus the religious zeal.

"Eh, point, ma'am. Ashira is with us." Unlike her superior, the Host Leader still believed.

"Yes, let's go." Talking was not a free action after all! They surmounted the pathway over the bodies of dead slavers and mercenaries that littered it. However, those were not the only dead, for they came across the ghastly sights that here and there what seemed to be rebellious slaves had been crucifed or hung from palm trees as they made their way through the fields. Some of the dead slaves were Eldorai.

"No prisoners. Captain Enyala, you move up, I move down. Be prepared for ambushes and mines. Infantry covers the walkers," the Seraph called out to her fellow officer. The troops needed to be kept focused amidst the grisly sight, but fortunately they were professionals. And so into the caves they went, with the walkers forming the spearhead of the charge, while bombs dropped upon the forest and bathed it in fire.

The caves inside were long and narrow, but the attack was brutal and resistance had been significantly reduced. To flush out resistance the Angelii unleashed their elemental powers, bringing forth blasts of scalding, telekinetic fire, lightning and the power of the earth.

Shock and awe worked wonders upon the slaving hordes. While Ynnead crushed opponents with rocks or disarmed them by mucking with their weapons via magnetism, Kaida protected her with Taegis shield and lightsabre, reflecting some shots back at the shooters to take them out. Coming across a heavy weapons emplacement that was spewing death in form of red kill-bolts towards the Eldorai soldiers, the two ducked for cover. The blaster bolts were coming at too high a firing rate for Kaida to deflect efficiently, so she put the lightsabre aside and took up her boltgun, loading a flash round, while her battle sister covered her.

BAAM A bright light enveloped the area ahead of them, briefly disorientating their attackers for a few moments. Exerting her power upon the turret, Ynnead drew upon the power of magnetism to plain and simply blow it up. The gunner and two companions were killed in the blast. Moving from cover, Kaida went on the assault, blaster bolts and slugs bouncing off her armour. A burly Trandoshan, filled with a great rage, charged at them swinging a massive hammer. A telekinetic blast rippling from his hand swept towards Kaida but she stood her ground as she anchored herself. Then she enveloped his throat in her willpower with an ice-cold hand and froze his arteries. He gasped as the agony seized him and crumpled to the ground.

Explosions ensued as part of the cave walls was torn apart and...a rancor charged the Eldorai. Most bizarrely, a slaver was sitting on the creature and trying to direct it. For a moment Kaida wondered whether they'd been teleported to Dathomir, then she gave the order to fire. The large rancor just happened to ram a Mag'ladroth walker. Its battering ramming pushed the walker back, but when the rancor tried to wrestle with it its arm was gripped by the electro-cestus. A blood-curdling, animalistic scream was heard when a powerful electrical shock coursed through the beast. The shattercannon roared as it spat a truly absurd amount of rounds. 6, 600 rounds per minute, designed to penetrate medium vehicle armour. The droning whine of thousands of rounds smashing into metal and flesh filled the air as the beast had its insides literally drilled away and pierced as if by lances of fire. Ouch.

Meanwhile, Kaida and her friend had been dealing with a different threat because at the same time an imposing figure emerged through the smoke. Wearing a heavy suit of power armour and equipped with gauntlet mounted flamethrowers and a heavy repeating blaster, it immediately launched an assault upon them. Kaida rolled to the side and threw up debris to block the salvoes. Flames engulfed her and licked at her phrik armour, but its elemental protection and her own power nullified most of the heat. However, bolter rounds seemed to have little effect on the hulking suit of doom. Against the heavy blaster, Ynnead manifested her stoneskin, giving herself good protection, though it also immobilised her. Rocks and bolter fire peppered him, though it did little except piss him off.

Trying to get a better angle to fire upon them the mercenary activated his jetpack and leapt into the air, guns blazing. However, Ynnead wrapped her power around the jetpack and exploded it, then a whirlwind by Kaida flung him around the cave before he crashed into hard rock. Down here there was no sand to cushion his fall and while the armoured suit was not broken, righting himself and getting up again would be difficult. Blunt trauma due to being dropped from on high would be a thing. Suddenly he would get the horrible feeling that liquid filled his lungs, making him struggle to get oxygen as the cryomancer focused her might upon him. Lungs being filled with fluid meant that they could not perform their function and provide the body with oxygen. He would feel as if he were literally drowning, as he ran out of oxygen, before a powerful magnetic field crushed his helmet and put him out of his misery. "Always thought power armour was overrated. Typical manlings," Ynnead said disdainfully.

Getting up from the ground, with her armour covered in dust, Kaida gripped her lightsabre. "Agreed. To the slave pens." More carnage and slaughter awaited them. Valora, Goddess of Battles, would be well-pleased by the offerings of her worshippers.

Part of the reason Theo is out here is because of his parents. And although the kid did not mean to, it reminded him of that fact his mother and father are off fighting in a war for the Galactic Alliance. He knew one day it would be him, and that scared him, it would be very odd if it didn't. He just hoped they could come back safe.

"My parents are .. away but they will be back soon. They know I *crack* I am here though. Them and the Rangers so I will not be in trouble". Between each crack in his voice, a low baritone timbre issued from his mouth. Ah! one day you will go through this kid. Some consolation? not really no.

He was pleased when the conversation turned back to surfing. "I would love *crack* love to have a go!". He looked to the rolling waves, "but first I want to build my own board, you wan*crack*na help me?". Maybe the kid new something about boards or at least he knew how to ride on.

"but what's your name? I am Theo". he said smiling. "Hey you h*crack*ungry?".

" 'An army's come up on our door step! They're blasting through, man stations, all of that. They're not taking this island!' " A voice of the presumed Trandoshan leader spoke up over the speakers as the Eldorai army tore through the entrance. Krest couldn't help but laugh at it. So an army was on its way, why didn't he just join that instead of dressing as a slave and subjecting himself to his earlier beating? Figures, right? Blue eyes flicked over to the handful of slaves he's already freed. Wasn't many, given he was only one man.

"Any of you know where that com room is?" He asked aloud. The army could save the slaves for sure, so he may as well do something more useful. Namely, cut off the head. Trandoshans were honor bound creatures, and if the Zabrak could take out their leader, well, they may become that much easier to wipe out. One of the slaves, a smaller Twi'lek male, spoke up. "I know where the room is. They use it as a command center of sorts way in the back. It won't take long to get there, especially with the focus on the front lines."

"Good, show me. The rest of you, keep freeing who ever you can find and get a place to defend yourself until the army gets here. Do not go to the front line, alright?" They all nodded, and the group continued on their mission. Krest nodded once to his new guide. Zuccofa was his name. A brave soul for sure. With the army distraction the pair were uninterrupted as they went down the winding tunnels. Zuccofa had a blaster in his hand, and while not the best shot he was certainly not as bad as Krest. At least the Zabrak had his lightsaber.

The two stopped just outside the objective. There were two guards just outside, both seeming fidgety. They didn't want to be here, they wanted to be out fighting. Earning points for their Scorekeeper. But they were the unfortunate ones, stuck without a hunt. Well, they were going to meet their Scorekeeper sooner than expected. Krest nodded once to the Twi'lek, and received a nod. They both knew what had to happen. Krest was the first around the corner, his lightsaber burning to life. With a quick throw, the green blade ripped through the air and through the chest of it's intended target. The Trandoshan fell down in two, while the other let out a scream of anger. His blaster was brought around to fire, but Zuccofa was already there. Three quick shots came from the blaster pistol, punching holes into the chest of the last lizard. He fell right beside his brother, lifeless.

"The big one should be inside. Shall we g-" A blaster shot cut off the Twi'lek's question. The 'big one' stepped out with a disruptor rifle in hand, it's barrel smoking. Beside Krest Zuccofa dissolved, eyes wide with confusion and fear. It took only a second, but he was gone, reduced to nothing. Under other circumstances the Zabrak would have looked the way of his now dead friend, but he couldn't afford such a thing now. He had no weapon, and he was facing a disruptor wielding Trandoshan.

" 'You came pretty far red skin. Shoulda ran when you had the chance. Now I'm gonna have to skin ya, if I leave anything le-' " Both hands of the Templar shot up, and with probably more energy than needed crushed the barrel of the rifle. Good, one less weapon to have to worry about. " 'Aahh, so I will be taking your skin then. Very well.' " The gun was discarded, and with a toothy grin the beast pulled out a wicked looking knife. " 'I'll be sure to take my time with you.' "

Objectives: Kill pirates/slavers, claim land.

Dead bodies littered the ground. Deep in the caverns of the volcanic island, it was predictably quite hot. This was a cause of annoyance for a cryomancer, but Kaida had tapas to make her body temperature less oppressively hot. Perhaps the slavers remembered the first time the Eldorai had visited the planet. Or they simply knew that the elves were not in the mood to take them captive. Either way, few gave quarter or surrendered. It availed them little regardless.

Amidst the explosions, gunfire and flares that lit up the dark cavern, Kaida made for a door. It was dramatically festooned with spikes. A slaver stood sentinel before it, and as he moved to engage her he wielded an impressive looking slugthrower. Squeezing the trigger of the antique rifle, he fired on full auto straight at the Seraph. When the salvoe was over, Kaida's phrik armour had tiny divots from the impact, and that was it!

Having expended his magazine, the slaver frantically tossed his gun aside and plucked a grenade free from his belt. Before he could pull the pin, he cried out in pain when she shot him in the knee with her bolt pistol. Ouch. "That's a real gun." Grabbing him by the throat with her gauntleted hand as she called upon her Sciia, she slammed him into the spiked door and impaled him.

Giving Ynnead a nod, she stepped aside and covered her comrade while the terramancer summoned a powerful magnetic field to warp the metal and knock the door down, sending it flying. An Angelii pyromancer with them summoned her power to unleash a blaze of light, distracting the slavers for a brief moment, and so the elves attacked. The first of the defenders was knocked down by the door, a second ignited by a jet of fire from the pyromancer. Her Taegis shield was rammed into the face of a slaver charging her, then Kaida hewed him down and used the Force to snap another one's neck.

However, the slaver who had been knocked down by the door earlier, managed to rally himself and pull a blaster on her. Before he could fire, Ynnead stabbed him with her sarix. "That's the second time, Seraph," she said a bit snarkily.

"Don't let it get to your head," Kaida retorted. Walking further into the cavern, they beheld a grisly scene, for these were some of the slave pens. It was dark and the smell was most rank. On the one side there were steel cages, on the other a collection of vile instruments of pain and torture. A Twi'lek jailer dressed in a stereotypical outfit you'd expect from a torture technician, had ducked under the body when the Eldorai charged in.

Seeing them she tried to run, but Kaida tossed her lightsabre at her and sliced across her leg. Fear could be seen inside the jailer's eyes when Kaida walked over to her and pulled off her hood. Deeply in pain, the jailer tried to pull a blaster but Kaida simply rammed her boot into her hand. Ouch. "Time for some poetic justice." Her eyes turned towards the cages. The cells were full of slaves of various races. Humans, Twi'leks, Zabrak, even a few Eldorai.

They were dirty, bloody, emaciated and fearful. Quickly the Angelii broke open the locks of their cells. "I'm with the Eldorai military. You're safe," Kaida spoke in what she thought was a reassuring tone. Roughly she grabbed the jailer by her lekku and twisted hard. This was a very sensitive and, in this case, painful spot for her Twi'lek and Kaida was being the exact opposite of gentle. Soon the prisoners were limping out, surrounding the torturer with vengeful expressions on their face. "She's all yours," the Seraph said and then dropped the Twi'lek to the floor. Soon the jailer was surrounded and for once the screams that could soon be heard did not come from the slaves!

Picking up her comm she contacted the flotilla. "Taldir, we've broken through enemy defences. Mop-up operation is proceeding. We've found slaves who require evac and medical treatment. Tell the healers to be ready." The healers in question were Priestesses of Ashira.

Iced azure eyes narrowed slightly. Rangers? What were Rangers? It sounded something military like. Perhaps the older boys parents were in the military, just like his own parents used to be before his was born. It was a good explanation as to why he was out alone and why these 'Rangers' would know where he was located.

Cracking of the other boys voice continued, this time deepening into a baritone like his fathers. Makai at this point decided he was some type of humanoid having trouble with his vocal cords and Basic. It didn't bother the young half-Galan in the slightest, especially since the other hadn't asked about his patches of faint blue scales.

Good thing I don't have to go through this voice croaking thing....

"I don't know how to build one..." Makai thought back to when he and his father sat in the garage and built stuff. Often times there were templates or blueprints.... "We can use my board as a guide."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Makai..." Hungry? When was a skinny boy in a middle of a growth spurt not hungry? "I can always eat. You gotta a ship nearby?"

Objective: Take a Walk about on the Beach

Letting her hair flow freely around her very slender figure. They had been called to do a mission to free the slave upon this planet. It was only after looking towards her new padawn did she give her a smile. "Come let us see where our aid can come in." as she smile at her. Even so looking at what she brought with her. Even now she was dressed not in her normal clothing but with a different wear what one would for a day at the beach.

"How do you feel about the water." as she let out a smile upon her lips. Even so this should be a fun time to see where this would take this one so young as Thelma. Even then after which time she let herself dip her now bear toes in the water.

Thelma was a new padawan to the sanctum, and she had been assigned to her new master. Her master was a master of healing, and she was to learn her craft. She then smiled at her, and asked her how did she feel about the water. She wonder if it was a trick question, then decided she would just answer, Yes all life comes from it. She hoped this was the right answer to her new master question, or was just simply do you like water, and nothing cryptic at all. She smiled back at her, hoping she answer the correctly. She also wonder what she find on this planet, and who they would aid, and what she was capable of.

Valae had been on the edge of consciousness when she had felt a slight pull on her arm, but by the time she reached the shore with Krux, she had slipped into darkness. The padawan’s skin was starting to take on a blueish hue. Somewhere beyond the shadows, she felt a strange warmth within her and it drew her back to the real world. Suddenly Valae’s eyes shot open and she struggled to take a few gasps of air, as the sea water started to come back up forcefully. The next few breaths she could finally take in were followed closely by a torrent of coughing.

Slowly the blurred figures near here came into focus, and she immediately recognized Audren, but didn’t recognize the other man’s face. Judging by the way the second man was shirtless and soaking wet, she guessed that he had been the one that had rescued her from the waves. Though, the presence was very familiar to her and it soon became clear that it was Krux. It was the first time she had seen him without his mask. Valae’s eyes shifted back and forth between the two, her mouth moved slightly, but there was no sound.

Valae’s breaths were still a bit labored, but they began to even out after she coughed up some more water. Despite the warmth of the sun against her skin, she was shivering on the wet sand.

“T-Thank….you.” She managed to say, her voice quiet and raspy.

Krux could feel the presence of another Jedi nearby, turning his head to see the white-haired Jedi he had battled on Thyferra nearby, watching. Probably judging, too, since now he could see Krux's face, scarred and tainted with dark side corruption, he looked like a man who had spent years as a puppet of the Dark Side. A bit embarassed, he turned his attention back to Valae, who didnt seem to comment on it, only muttered a quiet thank you when she started to breathe again. He spoke softly, "Just try to catch your breath."

Krux stood up, but didn't walk away. He reached out his hand and pulled the gear he had stripped off to dive into the water closer to him, turning his attention to Audren. He was a ways away, so he had to raise his voice a bit so he could hear. "Got any towels?!" he asked, ignoring the fact that the man probably still didn't even trust him. Maybe the fact that he just saved another Jedi's life from drowning was enough to convince him, because from how he looked standing half-nude in the sun with his scarred, tainted body showing, he sure didn't look like a righteous guardian of peace and justice.

It had seemed a millennia ago that Rasu had earned a break from the seemingly endless conflict. One would not believe that Arkas existed as a pirate haven, with it's picturesque oceans and beaches. It seemed to be the perfect vacation spot. While the Coalition did their best to liberate the planet from the scoundrel presence, the Jedi Master would do her best to enjoy a much-deserved rest.

The Shi'ido found herself lounging in a beach chair, positioned far away from the fighting. Rasu sat admiring the pure white sand and sparkling oceans, feeling sense of relaxation that she hadn't felt in a long while. The sun warmed the woman's skin contrasting nicely with the cool ocean breeze that left her longing for a deep slumber. As her eyes began to droop down and her mind became hazy, she smiled. Here, she existed without the pains and memories that had tormented her for so long. She could forget all of this for the time-being. Here, she wasn't Rasu Gan.

Smiling and enjoying her time as no one, the Shi'ido was enveloped into the realm of slumber, the sun raining down golden rays upon her emerald skin.
