Dominion Bloodlines | CIS Dominion of Eiattu 6 Hex

Startorn remembered the woman, at least he thought he did, she reminded him of the Dathomirain woman at the ball, he glanced at [member="Tess Valnora"] when she spoke on the woman's behalf, he scoffed when she said don't worry. "I don't worry, I'm carful" he said following her as they went towards the Palace.

As they went through the Market Startorn wispered "two at six, three at two" to Tess, following behind them were two shifty men and to there right were three people eyeing them not so nicely. "I'll take care of the three, keep your eye on the two" he said as he broke off and went to a side Ally, if someone was paying attention they'd see one of them suddenly fall and get yanked into the alley behind the three, the other two turned and charged down the alley but didn't come back out, instead came Startorn.

Vytal's gaze shifted back to Tess -- Thea -- when the woman vouched for her. Had she recognized Vytal when the 'hints' she'd given had been targeted toward Startorn? Curious. Though, there was something about 'Thea' that seemed familiar to the Dathomiri as well. A huntress of some kind. Unfortunately their time of meeting had a great many 'voices' possessing the Witch at the time that had distracted from the pivotal moment when the woman tried to kill Nim'Harra.

"Thea. Pleasure to meet you." The Eiattuan woman bowed slightly in Tess' direction. "Startorn." The Mandalorian received a nod of acknowledgement in turn; not because he was a male, but because the man didn't seem taken by formalities.

As they got underway, Vytal drifted closer to the other woman. She kept her voice low to avoid carrying as they moved, "I intend to aid in restoring order to this order. What brings you to Eiattu, Thea?"

Unfortunately Startorn's observation forestalled the Dathomiri from expressing great deal of her own intentions. They were being pursued? That was most unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected. Their number was too few to be of significant alarm, however. Thea should be quite capable of handling those left to her by the Mandalorian. What happened on Kinyen had not diminished Vytal's expectations of the Crow in her presence. There had been mitigating circumstances that had made dropping the target unreasonably difficult after all.

As they walked Lady Noctura voiced her intentions at the palace, which as fate would have it aligned with their mission. But before Tess could respond to her, Startorn informed them of a couple tails that they needed to deal with. She nodded and in a low voice instructed Vytal to keep walking to the palace. Then deftly and quietly Tess grabbed the backside of a passing hover-cart going in the opposite direction, toward the two stalking figures. They were so intent on their target that they didn’t even notice her ride by them, nor see or hear her jump off the cart behind them. Only a few steps behind them the Crow had a few moments to engage the powercells of her ‘Shadow’s Sting’ gauntlets, charging two cells each to provide a lethal dose of shock therapy.

What she didn’t account for was the rock that she accidentally kicked in their direction, bringing them to full alert to the danger behind them. They both spun in unison, masks covered their faces and they both brandished vibroknives. Instinct and years of training took over as she fired the grappling hook form her right bracer, hitting the figure on the right in the chest. She then converted the power stored in the gauntlet to the durasteel cable sending the man, woman or alien into a quick and painful afterlife. She retracted the cable as the second figure rushed Tess. He swung his blade wildly at her midsection, which took every effort to recover from her attack and to dodge. The knife tore into her coat but left her unharmed as he swung his blade from her left to right, but on the back-swing Tess placed her palm in the pommel’s path, knocking it from his hand instantaneously. Without a second though she pulled back her left hand and delivered the final electric blow; the figure shuddered and crumpled at her feet.

Tess quickly and expertly checked the body for information but only found a pendant with the Crucible’s crest on it, “Just like the last one.” She said to herself, refering to the first agent she killed, as she hurried to rejoin Vytal and Startorn, who had probably gotten a bit further down the street by now. Once she caught up to the two, she let out a short sigh, “Done and done. They were Crucible agents, key word: were.” Implying that she had ended their pathetic lives. “Good eye Startorn.” Tess said as they continued. She let Vytal lead, as she had previously indicated she knew the fastest way to the palace.

“To answer your question, Lady Noctura: I was sent here to find the long-lost heir or heiress to the Eiattu throne and help reinstate their rule. The CIS hopes this will help bring peace and stability to this planet. It will also remove a foothold the Crucible has against us.” She spoke plainly, keeping the Ministry’s intentions out of the light of day. Nobody else needed that information, not yet. “How do you intend to fix what is broken here? If I may ask.” She continued with a question, hoping to glean a possible path to follow, with her current being somewhat hazy.

Three..

Two..

One..

“Breach.”

The door charge ripped through the metal door of the warehouse with ease, and although it did make quite a bit of noise, Luna wasn’t exactly concerned in making this the most silent operation ever. She wanted to get in and get out of this place quickly, so when the door blew open, showing metal bits over the two unsuspecting gang members on the inside, she was quick to burst through the hole that had been made and blast them both.

Those inside of the warehouse were quickly made aware what happening, and shouts of panic could be heard from all over the loading floor. The members that had been making those noises, however, were being quickly silenced. Having followed Luna through the hole as fast as the hole would allow, the squad of expertly trained and deadly commando’s were plowing their way through the loading floor with ease. Within thirty seconds, the floor was cleaned out, leaving only the upstirs offices to still breach and clear.

“Alright people, last push. Lets clean these rooms out and get the intel. Exfil will be here in t-minus five minutes. We need to be done and dusted by then.” The rest of the commandos nodded in agreement as the group made their way toward the offices, half of the squad hugging each side of the hallway. A light chuckle came over Luna’s comms as Q’ara behind her spoke, teasing, “not the worst breach we’ve done.” The general couldn’t help the smirk that peaked at the edge of her lips, as well as a light chuckle of her own. Otherwise, she just gave a look over her shoulder and a nod to the master sergeant, then back forward to focus on the last bit of this mission.

Alden smiled warmly as his eyes glanced in Faye’s direction. “It’s an amazing thing,” Alden exclaimed in response to Faye’s question as to whether this new revelation was good or not. “I had every reason to believe I was the only one of my family left, but now . . .” He paused a moment, taking the time to try and line his thoughts into a coherent form. “Now I know I’m not. I can’t explain what it is I’m feeling now, but the elation that has accompanied it is greatly welcomed.” The roller coaster of emotions that swirled in his mind would no doubt be a lot for an empath, such as Faye, to really grasp, but he did little to hide them away. He wouldn’t any reply to her praise of the palace’s divine beauty outside of a nod and another warm and welcoming smile. However, as her other question, the more serious one, followed, Alden’s expression would shift. In all honesty, he’d not given much in the way of thought as to what he would actually do now that he knew Cameron was alive. And he’d not exactly had the time to truly delve that deeply on the subject either. Not in the manner to formulate any plans at least.

But finally, after a moment of somewhat awkward silence as he took time to ponder the situation, he spoke up, taking Faye’s hands into his own. “We’ll stick to the plan we had when we first started our way here,” he said, “I’m sure we’ll run into my brother soon enough. In fact, he very well might be on his way to welcome us as we speak.” He offered the latter as the most likely of any outcome. “But for now, let us explore the place of my birth. Perhaps it will once more become a home to me again?”

Vytal continued down the robe as she gently lifted a hood to mask her face. The concealment would work both ways if attacked from behind or the sides as the Crucible agents sought to do. She would be an easy target if Startorn and Thea were taken out; but then she was merely a humble woman of Eiattu seeking to be on her way. Unfortunate for their would be stalkers, however, that the Confederacy was not so weak as they claimed. As a whole perhaps they were a colossal beast that might be slow to turn, but individually they were far from hesitant to act. It was easy to verbally smear your opponent. Talk, as some offworlders put it, was cheap.

Once Thea returned, the Nightmother drew the hook back to have a better look at the other woman. "Assuming you found an heir or heiress, how would you prove their claim to the throne? The moment you tried, the Crucible would submit their own candidate regardless of whether the bloodline were true." Was it a risk to speak of this with Thea and Startorn? Perhaps. Then again, perhaps it would be worthwhile to see their quality for when it truly mattered. "I believe a local found a symbol of this world that would solidify a genuine claim to the throne. I came here to claim it. Fortunately, the local thugs did not get it first." Though they did capture the woman that had found it. Vytal hoped their efforts would be in time to break the strangle hold of violence on the world, and muster a response to free such captives.

"Do you have any leads on their heir or heiress?" An important question given what Vytal had was meaningless without such a person.

Passing through the crowded streets towards the grand market, Credius forced his men to halt when he noticed something interesting: People he had seen at least at varying occassions and some who he had known for a bit longer had seemingly converged near the market place. It was intriguing to see the witch [member="Vytal Noctura"] who he had a rather...awkward series of interactions with and apparently that [member="Tess Valnora"] , a young agent of sorts from one of the many secretive divisions within the confederation of independent systems was there as well. This was an odd, but not entirely unexpected situation, as he had already gathered that there were many CIS operatives converging on Eiattu six.

The viceroy didn't recognize or know the name of the mando that was with the group though, clearly part of what they were conspiring. However, trying to hide himself with four of his guards escorting him wasn't going to cut it. "Men, search the market for information...anything about the crucible will do, I will contact you shortly," With that the viceroy managed to shake off his own escort, intending to calmly approach the rag tag group of unlikely allies, just to try and see if they held the information which he so desperately needed. As he came closer, the man let out a soft chuckle, gazing at all of them with his cold, silver eyes. "Do tell me, what brings such a rag tag group together in such a hostile place?"

Just to try and see if the others that had converged at the place were up to snuff, the man gently pulled upon the force around them, yet it had an ulterior motive, which he hoped the witch would understand, as he hoped for her to engage with him in a telepathic conversation, something she had been able to establish before and which he thought might be the best way of communication at this point.

The woman Vytal look no time in continuing their conversation as they continued on their way to the palace grounds. The questions she levied against Tess’s current plan of attack made her think, and hard. How would she prove they were the one if opposition arose? She had hoped that as long as they were the first to claim the throne, they could quell any other claims before they could be brought to the light of day. Real or fake. Yes, she had once taken part in business and politics once upon a time when she lived with her family and their company. But she had long since left that life behind and taken up the mantle of assassin.

“Once upon a time, I played the Great Game, but I am sorely out of practice for anything like that now.” She said choosing her words carefully to answer the first question. “My goal is to find them and ensure their safety while the CIS politicians and Eiattu law-keepers prove their legitimacy.” But what if they were unwilling? Uncooperative? How would she convince the heir or heiress to take the throne then? She couldn’t just threaten the heir to ‘take the throne or else’, a frightened or angry ruler is no use to its people.

She didn’t have much to go on, her contact that had betrayed her to the Crucible was supposed to help her get access to the palace vaults so she could hopefully sift through the documents and hopefully match the name she had been given, “’Akar’, was all I was able to uncover before I was betrayed. Whether it is a first name, a last name, part of a name. I don’t know. But I plan on getting into the Palace archives and finding out.” Tess said, then posed her own question, “Do you believe this ‘symbol’ is at the palace?” No sooner had the question passed her lips than a very tall gentleman stood in their path accosting them with yet another question to add to the list from this day.

“Who’s asking?” Tess challenged, taking a note from Startorn’s playbook on not trusting everyone, as she reached for her SGP-12 underneath her coat with her right hand. The man didn’t look familiar to Tess as she looked up at his face, but the air in which he carried himself reminded her of a red armored man she had met up with in a recent mission. But without a positive identification once couldn’t be too sure.

On a normal occasion she wouldn’t be so obvious with her weapons, but this was the third time today that the Crucible had tried something and she was curious if they would simply back down if they knew their odds of survival.

They were at the finish line now. Just had to bust through a door or two and grab the info. Once that was done, they could all be back on one of the hellspears, sipping corellian whiskey and finally getting a rest leave. Been quite a while since they had had one of those. These thoughts ran through her head as one of the newer members of the squad moved forward to plant the breaching charge. He was a demolitions expert they had picked up after the engagements on Ryloth had left them shorthanded. And for the most part, he had done his job pretty well.

And he probably would have continued to do his job extremely well…had it not been for the heavy blaster bolts ripping through the doorway, and into his body, sending him crashing to the ground. “Back up, back up!” She called out, not wanting anyone else to get hit by the seemingly laser stream of bolts pouring through the now open doorway. Her eyes glanced over to the unmoving body of the younger commando with a grimace across her face for just a moment before turning her attention back to the much more pressing matter.

“Flash them Tien.” The largest of the squad gave a silent nod while crouch walking to the front of the group, right beside the doorframe. A clink soon followed as the pin was pulled on a flash grenade, then tossed into the room. The rain of laser bolts didn’t stop with the flash that followed, though they were significantly less accurate. Enough so that Tien, soon followed by Q’ara and Luna poured into the room, swiftly ending the threat behind the E-Web and the two men guarding it. The room fell silent, except for the sound of Tien firing a final round into the head of the gunner for good measure.

The rest of the commandos slowly made their way into the room, with the last one coming in soon after checking on the man on the hallway floor. “He’s gone, ma’am.” Luna solemnly nodded, jerking her chin toward him. “Alright. Take someone else with you and get him back to the front of the warehouse. We’re not leaving his body here.” He saluted, popped another commando on the shoulder, and the pair returned to the hallway to retrieve their fallen comrade. The general, for her sake turned back to the room they had cleared, finding a final door in the corner, opening to what looked like a server room.

“Let’s get this information and leave this godforsaken place.”

Their sole clue was ''Akar?' That was most vexing. Surely there were be many people with those four letters in their name. They would need more if this were to be a successful endeavor.

Before she could consider whether or how to respond to Thea's question regarding her mistaken belief the symbol was not already in her possession, a familiar male drew close. Under normal conditions Vytal might have announced Credius' identity and saved them all some time. However, masquerading as a humble woman of the world, she would know none of these things. Perhaps there might be a way...

"Perhaps, my Lord would wish to accompany us to the palace?" The woman of Eiattu bowed slightly toward the Viceroy whose noble bearing was unmistakable. It might alleviate some concern the others held toward the man knowing Vytal knew him without saying as much aloud.

Despite her polite question, the hodded figure took visual stock of the area. Her eyes closed for a moment as Vytal called upon her magicks to seek what it was the man desired of this encounter. Viceroy Nargath, as impressed as I am you saw through my disguise, I hope there is a matter of some import? Her eyes opened once more as the green glow had faded from establishing the connection. All outsiders would see was an intense stare at the new arrival.

Startorn looked at the man curiously as he walked up then said "i see you don't care about being descrete anymore" when he saw [member="Tess Valnora"] reach for her gun, Startorn simply rested his hand on his gun.

"Sure come and join us, oh and make sure you invite the leader of the Crucible while we're at it" he said sarcastically, honestly he was quickly getting tired of this lady [member="Vytal Noctura"], one thing to invite herself to the party without divulging anything about herself and now she was inviting a stranger who could possibly want to kill them along for the ride? At least with the underworld people were carful, these people didn't seem to know carful even if it smacked them on the butt.

It seemed that his very arrival, unannounced and probably just as unexpected as it was, conjured up some mixed feelings amongst the members of te small gathering. Among them, only the identity of the person of seemingly Mandalorian heritage was unknown to the Viceroy. The others though were so much easier, one had aided him a while back, but probably lacked the force sensitivity to realize that the man standing before her and the one she helped were one and the same. The other was much easier, the nightmother had already been in Credius' presence a few times and her magicks were rather unmistakable for the man, even if her face was different, her clothing shaggy and ragged, just as he wore a mask constantly, so to was he more capable than most to peer beyond the disguises created through the force.

"I know what you are doing, dear nightmother... though I assure you I'm not here to cause you any trouble," For a moment Credius managed to lock his eyes upon the disguised Nightmother, wondering if she was capable of looking beyond the mask he wore at all times as well, though shrugging it off, he concentrated his mind to attune it to her usage of magicks again. "I had an interesting conversation with a former employee of the Royal family...in regards to this 'heir' you and this organization seem to be looking for. Given the fact that I am not keen on dealing with lowlife thugs, I thought perhaps I could lend a hand in this endeavour of yours."

Credius' calm and cold gaze fell upon [member="Tess Valnora"] , followed by a slightly annoyed clack of his tongue. "You should really learn to be a bit less jumpy...," The viceroy grinned as he pointed with his thumb to the side, where at least one of Credius' guards had trained his blaster rifle upon the woman. "They are rather efficient and I can assure you their aim is much more precise than that of the thugs that think they own this planet. So holster your weapon and calm down. As for you..."

Walking up to the Mandalorian, the viceroy stood still right in front of the man smirking slightly. Leaning in closely, soft, yet harsh words escaped the viceroy's lips: "I suggest you reign in that talk... the onlyone openly showing their disdain of those Crucible thugs is you... so be silent or be silenced, your choice."

The idea of playing politician bored him to tears. They had Obsidian Knights who worked as aides to the Viceroyalty and had their place among the ranks for the sole purpose of emulating the Jedi Diplomats of the Old Republic: advise and ensure smoothness and a just direction for those in power. Balance was ever the creedo of the Knighthood, even if the Knights themselves were allowed personal preferences. After his run in with the Lord Commander, and a change of heart from the other man, Alkor had been left to his own devices.

Now he held a position that took preeminence on the battlefield, as it should have always been. The paperwork, the boring hours spent among politicians, all of it finally ceded and left him to a task that he felt suited for.

The sulfuric smell of ordnance and ozone from urban warfare burned his nostrils, but none of that seemed to bother Alkor Centaris. He watched as endless ranks of insurgents threw themselves against the city guard, and blood splashed across the debased streets. Where there was once fragile peace upheld by a monarchy, now there was chaos afflicted by those who tore the status quo down.

It seemed a shame to ruin their fun.

Those with power dictated the lifestyle for those who did not. Alkor had watched the knife's blade turn time and again, one rebellion put down an Empire, and those who raged against that Empire in turn railed against it. The wheel turned, slowly, and it always broke the backs of those who found themselves caught beneath it unwittingly.

He took a step toward the front line and disregarded the protests that flanked him. "Sir, we don't know what they might have waiting for you behind their lines!" a local guardsman warned. "We've held them off, but we haven't pressed-"

"You won't quash a rebellion if you fear the strike that will sever their ranks, Captain," Alkor spoke over his shoulder. "I'll need a handful of volunteers," he said. "Two men with me, three to the left and to the right. We'll punch holes down each main promenade and rendezvous at the opposite end of the city."

He looked back to the Captain of the Guard. "Meanwhile, you push behind us and clean up anything we happen to leave behind. If they get an opportunity to rally, they will take it and we'll end up split away from the main unit. Don't forget how important it is that you see this through to the end, Captain."

"Sir!" the man snapped to attention and gave a stiff salute.

"be silent or be silenced? By who? You? Sounds like something someone who supports the Crucible would say, i suggest You quit talking less you say something that would be....unwise" he replied coldly.

Without moving his head he quickly glanced around, four men, maybe. He'd be lying if he said he didn't want to stab this guy in front of him and shoot up his guard, but that might attract more attention then they wanted, he also pretty sure command wouldn't be to happy if he just started going guns a blazing. He also wasn't happy about this guy making a seen, usually when someone pulls up a blaster rifle people don't just keep going like nothing happened, these people were no exception, they scrambled to get out of the way leaving a circle around the troops, Startorn, Credius Credius , Vytal Noctura Vytal Noctura and Tess Valnora Tess Valnora .

Faye was more than relieved to see the elation on her lover’s face, doubly so to feel it radiating off him like heat from a furnace. The Minister stepped closer to him, if it were possible, to lean her head against his arm as they walked in tandem. ‘It pleases me more than I can say to hear that.’ Part of her feared he would react much the same way she suspected Adron would. A surprise sibling, a potential threat to his claim for power and glory… but she should have known. The man she walked beside had distanced himself from all of that, he was far from the greed of men that ordinarily surrounded her. His simple happiness at discovering he was not alone was more than enough to plaster a smile onto Faye’s face, even if the swirling storm of other emotions inside him was somewhat confusing to unpick. ‘Our presence here will be good for both of us. I can feel it.’

Since they had shared the details of their attachment with her brother, things had been going somewhat awry for the couple. Her elder sibling’s reaction was one neither could have seen coming. In a fit of rage, he had cast his apprentice aside and deemed Faye’s judgement unworthy. Of course, he had changed his mind later, but the tension was still there. Hidden under the surface, waiting for one wrong move to snap it and injure everyone who stood by too closely. Though it hadn’t shaken the foundation of their relationship, Faye could tell it was some source of contention for Alden. She knew how much Adron’s apprenticeship meant to him, and she hated the fact that she had been the reason he lost it. Perhaps, in time, being here and exploring his past and potential future would heal that wound.

Once again Alden’s voice drew her from her reverie, to answer her final question. In response she simply nodded, allowing raven curls to tumble down her shoulders. ‘That’s perfectly agreeable to me. I'm looking forward to having a glimpse into your past, and meeting your brother, should he show up. You’ve met more than enough of my family by now. It’s about time I met some of yours.’ Before the revelation that Cameron was still alive, neither of them knew Alden had any family left at all, but now? In a way, despite the short amount of time Alden spent here, Faye was utterly grateful for the chance to get to know where he came from. More often than not, you could gain an accurate measure of a man from his place of birth alone. Faye already knew the measure of this man and she was certain their time spent on Eiattu VI would cement her ideologies.

‘What shall we do first? I’m sure someone inside is waiting for you.’

The Mandalorian seemed discontent with how Lady Noctura conducted business. Shame, but the Dathomiri woman was unrepentant about her conduct. You would be hard pressed to find a gentle woman concerned with the criticisms leveled by outsiders. Nevertheless, Vytal heard Startorn's lamentation all the same and understood it well. The man hardly knew her, or why she was inclined to invite Credius to join them. So she would not hold his tone against him.

Curious, the Nightmother responded to Credius' thoughts carried by the spiritual energies between them, I was not aware we had made public any search for an 'heir.' The corner of her lips turned upward. However, were we engaged in such a search, your knowledge of the political world and your connections might prove quite valuable. Please excuse the Mandalorian; I failed to introduce myself in public as being anything other than a humble woman of this world -- Lady Noctura.

Unfortunately, the conversation aired out in the open for all to hear was not so polite. Vytal's eyes narrowed a hair as the men mouthed off at one another. "As fascinating as it is to watch two alpha males go at it, we need to get to the palace." Noctura paused as she began to turn forward, only to look back at Credius. "Please don't goad my escort. There are more than enough savages in this city to crush." Startorn and Tess probably wouldn't 'get' Credius right off the bat -- where he came from, why he came off as a pompous ass. Vytal understood. Then again, people thought her an unholy terror so perhaps it was just easier for two 'monsters' to come to terms after a few choice encounters. "Let's make haste."

"Unwise, hmm?" With a single motion of his hand, the approaching guards lowered their rifles, as the Viceroy calmly let out a chuckle, tilting his head slightly while looking at the armored man. This man was obviously not aware of what kind of person he was dealing with, so Credius decided to at the very least forgive the man's reckless, if not pretty suicidal behavior on the count of the ignorance which seemed to plague him.

"Madame, forgive me for such uncourteous and uncouth behavior," Credius turned towards Vytal with a grin on his face, making a graceous bow towards the woman in disguise. "Allow me to accompany you and ensure your safety among the rabble."

With a smirk on his face, the Viceroy glanced towards Tess Valnora and Startorn. "Shall we move?"

“I wouldn’t count on that,” Alden spoke to Faye as he took one last gaze upon the enormity of the structure that stood before them. It was a Royal Palace and everything about its architecture screamed as much. Such power and elegance draped in a prismatic display of color from the floral arrangements that blanketed the landscape around them, as well as the vines of green that crawled and clawed their way up the duracrete walls that seeming fortified the place. Archaic in certain senses, sure, but modern technology and engineering twisted and twined with the older semblance of heritage that boasted and poured out from the place. Nevertheless, they were here. And there was nothing anyone could do to deny that fact. Nor could Alden deny what was no doubt to come of his visit here. “But perhaps we will be lucky enough to receive such a welcome. Perhaps even Cam, himself, will be here to welcome us.”

At this point he began to step forward, his path guiding him in the direction of the main entrance to the Palace grounds. A massive archway cast a bitter shadow over the fractured cobblestone that speckled the entryway; a design brought about for a particular aesthetic more so than it had been for functionality. The path would likely be a bit more difficult for someone in heels to traverse than one in a more common set of footwear, such as the polished shoes that adorned his own feet. “Well,” he said, his voice warm and soft, “This is home, I guess. It seems so different than what little I remember of it.” His gaze cast over to his left coming to rest upon a small, yet exquisite fountain display. Immediately his mind flashed to an early memory; one of the very few he still had in regards to this place.

. . . Water splashed about in hues of blue, threatening to escape their very sanctuary. The sun glistened overhead, its warm rays heating the water that danced wildly to a comfortable degree. It was hot, but that didn’t matter to a pair of small children as they ran wildly through the courtyard, chasing after one another with utter joy and revelry. Even royal guards couldn’t hide their joyful grins over the elation the emulated from the two young princes. The laughter and cheerfulness that would accompany them tenderly warmed the heart of any passerby that thought to observe them . . .

Alden shook his head, snapping himself back to reality. So much had happened since his early youth. Since his family’s forced desertion from the planet amid an ever expanding threat which imposed itself upon them. One that simply could no longer be stood up to nor defied, and instead had to be avoided for the inherent safety and the family and its heirs. And thus, they’d been forced to leave. Forced to abandon everything they had known and loved, finding themselves bound for a system far, far from home. And the new life that would follow. Never in a million years would one have been able to foretell the life of a young boy in upheaval as he grew into a man and found himself on quite the roller coaster of a ride through his adult years. First with the Alliance, then shifting to the New Republic, later to be followed by some time as a freelance in the deplorable space of the Hutts, and then finally nestled in to the Confederacy’s embrace. But here he was, and he was home, if he could even truly call it that.

“Shall we?” he asked as he and Faye would come upon the massive doors that served as the main entrance of the Royal Palace.

Eiattu IV. It had been a planet held in the clutches of the Crucible for some time, but now the daring and brash Confederacy encroached upon a sovereign territory. One the Crucible had felt they’d claimed rightfully, even if its citizens still sought to defy their rule. And Nasosûtoi had been assigned here by Crucible leadership as an enforcer of the faction’s interests. He was a warlord and a menacing presence that instilled fear among the peons whose eyes might glimpse the behemoth. More than eight feet and height with a weight greater than 500 pounds without the plates that covered his fur, this four armed vulpine-esque monstrosity was the thing of nightmares. The foul embodiment which mothers warned their children against in the dead of night. An imposing presence that demanded a certain fear and respect wherever it went. And if that were not enough, the beast was of the Irrukiine race, a foul tempered collection a demonic wolf-like beings whose tempers and fits of rage would put even a Gundark to shame. Needless to say, he was not someone, or rather something, a man of sanity would seek to cross paths with.

Surrounding the senseless perversion of nature that was this defiling beast, was what appeared to be a legion of Crucible soldiers and sympathizers alike. Each knew their mission and many had come to terms with the mere fact that they may never return, yet the havoc they sought to instill today amid this Confederate invasion yet what they would do today was said to etch their names into pages history forever. A heinous and unimaginable sleight as viewed by some, their actions would seek to further the illustrious mission of their superiors and of the Crucible - the only body of government or faction that possessed the poised and guts to stand against the Confederacy. To try and steer the empirical body from its unquenchable thirst for power and influence as it spread its tendrils further from its heart, threatening to infect all with the vile nature of its pestilence. This plague would face the consequences of its vile nature and its insatiable hunger for more.

An arm of Nasosûtoi’s rose high into the sky, clenched in a fist, his large axe hanging idly on the opposite side. In yet another of the beast’s four arms, a gauntleted fist clenched to the grip on a heavy blaster pistol, forefinger hooked and looped preemptively around the weapon’s trigger. The hand raised high was brandished in a plated gauntlet crafted in a manner far different from the other plates that clad the rest of his enormous frame. And with that, came a unique set of features of a relic forged by the masterful hands of the Sith Lord he’d once served.

The arm lanced forward and immediate the detachment of roughly fifty men, soldiers and sympathizers alike, sprang into action. The sky lit up as if a vibrant celebration had just gotten under way. Just as fireworks crackled and filled the night sky in prismatic color, so too did the bolts which leapt from the muzzles of the various firearms touted by the Crucible men. And the cover of night was not even needed for this display as though an artist allowed his brush to fling wildly, paint of various hues across a previously blank canvas. Several red bolts found themselves hurtling through the and into various bodies from the Irrukiine’s very own blaster where heaps and flesh and bone would fall limp. The unexpected assault a success, with its very own story to tell. Mangled bodies lay here and there, and yet to everyone’s surprise, not one crucible member had fallen in this attack, yet each and every rebellious and defiant figure lay lifeless. Blood dripped for the blade of the large axe Nasosûtoi carried, the tale of the various bodies he’d disfigured in the brief assault. However this was not the entirety of the mission carried out. No. The pinnacle of this monumental occasion was still to come and the behemoth could taste it.

His lips curled upward into a cruel smile, revealing a row and razor sharp teeth to match terrifying claws. And then the contingent set forth once more. Deeper into the city they would go. Deeper and deeper on a path that seemed to cater toward the Royal Palace itself.

As Startorn challenged the tall man, Tess eyed the blasters trained on her. In a situation as tense as this one was escalating, to drawing her slugthrower would not end well for either her group or the stranger’s group. And the way Startorn and this man seemed to be trying to measure blaster lengths wasn’t what they needed in the open streets of Eiattu’s capitol. Slowly Tess drew her hand from beneath her coat revealing it to be empty. This appeared to be enough and the guards lowered their weapons as well, to her relief as their confrontation had created a ring of space around them. The number of eyes that were trained on them all made her more uncomfortable than she showed as she reached for lady Noctura’s elbow.

“We need to move now. Too many eyes. Not enough cover.” She said in a low voice, hoping Vytal would follow as she started to move. The threat she felt was no longer the men in front of them, but all around. If Credius wanted to follow and provide extra security, that was okay with her, but they needed off the streets and somewhere prying eyes were fewer.

“Mando, watch our backs, my gut is telling me we are in trouble. And it isn’t these five.” Tess said to Startorn, she didn’t use his name on sole account she saw he didn’t trust the newcomer yet. As she passed by the tall man she said, “Come with us if you want, but we need to hurry.”

The Crucible was trying exceptionally hard to keep them from the palace, and whatever they might find there. Her brow had furrowed slightly as she looked ahead, keeping an eye out for more trouble. Why did she go on these missions? Every time she accepts them, something always goes wrong and she is left making decisions by the seat of her pants. For once she would like a kill mission that ran smoothly.
