Description:
Asheran Armorweave, as its name suggest is a derivative and advancement on the classic Armorweave that has circulated around the galaxy for centuries.

Asheran Armorweave is a light armor that takes on many properties of heavier armors in regards to its defensive capabilities. It does so however while maintaining its ability to be flexible and lightweight, with an emphasis on the latter. The armor maintains the same weight as armorweave, however it is slightly bulkier due to the way it is woven.

Unlike regular armorweave, Asheran Amorweave is not just fibers, instead it is fibers interwoven with a unique mineral compound found by Titan Industries and Arceneau Trade Company. This mineral contains odd strengthening properties*. When interwoven with the normal properties of armorweave this mineral, when properly refined, strengthens the fibers while still giving them their unique flexibility.

The Strengths of Asheran Armorweave are clear. With the unique bonded mineral Asheran Armorweave has practically tripled the strength of armorweave. This means it can take more blaster shots, heavy laser fire, and probably even a single light turbolaser shot before failing, it is all but invulnerable to most bladed weapons, and can even stand up to lightsaber strikes, though the last is capable of slicing through with repeated hits.

The only issue that has been found with this new armor is that electrical charges strike Asheran Armorweave with and extra oomph, since the entire suit is essentially just a massive conductor. Despite this massive weakness, the strengths of the armor were more than enough to put it into full production.

After Kiran's departure from Titan Industries he took the recipe for Asheran Armorweave with him as well as a large supply of the armor itself. This lead to its widespread use by Saeva Incorporated. After the return of Alric Kuhn the manufacturing of Asheran Armorweave fell to Vanir Technologies whom was able to better produce it.

*This is science fiction, I'm not going into detail with how it accomplishes this because I have neither the metallurgical knowledge nor the inclination to learn.

Both threads justify the material and the strengths of the armor. Just a couple of things really:

  • Can you clarify what makes the weight of this armor varying? Is this simply because it has individual pieces that total up to 2.7kg when assembled and fitted?
  • If there are multiple pieces, I would suspect there to be weaknesses in the pivotal joints where if exploited, namely by a lightsaber, would compromise its' integrity.
  • Is this full body armor excluding a helmet, or only upper-body? If this is both upper and lower body armor I would ask that you raise the weight slightly to reflect its' bulk.
  • Is this armor concealable? (IE: Can be worn under common clothing?)

  1. It is weighted differently because I'm not creating an armor, so much as an armor substance. The armor is a spun and woven material, strands of armorweave bonded with the Mineral found on Ashera in order to strengthen them. The weight that is listed is only what the piece in the picture weighs. A full body suit would likely weigh around 6kg.

  2. It is a single spun piece much like Armorweave, however i've included that at the joints of the armor(Shoulders, armpits, Elbows) the layering is slightly weaker and thus only lightsaber resistant.

  3. The weight has been mentioned above. This is meant to be a replacement for armorweave and thus comes in varying sizes and weight depending on the person using it.

  4. Yes. It is meant to go under clothing and armors, though under normal closing it might make you look a bit bulkier.
