To witness how quickly Archae Teuthis evolved must have been jarring for its citizenry. Only decades ago, the far-flung world had existed on the fringes of everything. As it was not along a major Hyperlane, commerce and outside interaction was minimal at best. Therefore, the native peoples relied predominantly upon themselves for every aspect of life. However. As their Confederate neighbor to the South expanded across the stars, new waves of traffic began to fly in their direction. New merchants, tradesmen, and migrants began to settle upon the ocean world and left a lasting mark upon their society.

At first, the foreigners were given a small chain of coral-based islands to call home. Yet, the sheer might of industry uplifted these landmasses into an interconnected paradise. This was not the sole contribution that the settlers made to the distant world, for they also brought them a melting pot of ideas. Traditions from all across the stars blurred together into a succulent gumbo, giving rise to broad Holiday seasons on the islands. And, during this time of year, just as the tropical breeze began to lower in temperature, both foreigner and native alike began to cheer.

Autumn had arrived, and with it a reason to celebrate.

The festivities were set to begin on one of the more cozy islands, at a locale known as Otok Bay. As the sun dipped just beyond the horizon, painting the heavens with a marvellous splash of magenta and gold, firepits rose to cast light upon the luau. Music filled the air - as did the sweet aroma of warm cider and pumpkin spice everything. The locals began to arrive in droves, all dressed in the most Dazzling or Terrifying they could muster. There were laughs, dancing, singing, and games!

And who else would be invited to join than the Confederacy that now offered them a place?

Many people thought that Alwine was not a woman who laughed very much, and therefore, must not have a great sense of humor. Many people were and still are, of course, very wrong. Alwine had a great sense of humor. Why else would a Lupine choose to come to a Halloween party dressed as… Well, a wolf.

While the fact that she was a Lupine and could shape shift, choosing either wolf or human, was no longer a secret. After years of needing to keep it hushed in fear of their lives, all three Lechner siblings were free to be who they truly were. Or well, find the path to see who they truly were without the secrecy involved.

And yet, despite that and despite the many hours the petite blonde spent in her wolf shape, only two or three Confederates had actually seen her in it. Therefore, very few people had seen her as a wolf. Which meant that now they all could, since they all were at this party.

And that was funny.

Alwine definitely had a sense of humor. And she was willing to claw out the faces of anyone who dared claim otherwise on a night like this.

It had taken so long to get her costume just right. The moment the idea had popped into her head, Madalena spent hours trying to gather up the correct material to get her costume done just right. It took days before she finally managed to get the bottom piece together; a pair of shorts made of material that blended seamlessly with her skin, making her look like she had no rump crack from the back, covered in the front by a single giant leaf.

The hair… Was trickier. She had glued it to her chest with special hair gel combined with solvable glue, needing to tease it madly beforehand so it’d look wild. It was the only way she could find a spot to make sure her privates were hidden but that she could still move her head.

And for the feet… What else would Madalena put on them other than her trust combat boots, especially since her costume left her literally no place to hide knives in? Just because this was a party did not mean she could show up naked of weapons. Clothes were one thing, but she never went anywhere without at least two knives. Her boots currently held four.

Her lips, naturally, were covered in red.

Madalena was so ready for a Halloween party! She grinned from ear to ear as she strutted confidently into the party hall, ready to enjoy all this celebration had to offer.

Kasca was excited. Arkania never had had anything like a costume party that she had ever been to. The idea of being able to dress up in a costume and wander around a party with people sounded like great fun. Having only recently joined the Confederacy, she was also blessed with no one yet knowing who she was and thus no real recognition could happen by accident. Total anonymity was a fun concept and the slightly mischievous Arcanian was ready to play.

Like many of her kind, she was scientifically minded. How best could she play a prank on the unsuspecting partygoers? She didn't have anything malicious in mind, but rather a little boost to the party. The week before, she had mixed several powders that were so finely milled, they dissolved instantly on whatever food or drink they touched. Each person would have a different reaction based on their personality and perhaps even what their soul desperately needed. One affect was increased energy, empathy, and pleasure. It brought walls down so that interaction was more desirable and intense. (interpret that however you like... think ecstasy). One affect was a higher energy, mild psychedelic inducing. What one sees with ones eyes becomes more bright and colorful while the body wants to dance and move. One was a mild aphrodisiac. And the last was one that induced the desire to talk and connect with others on a mental level. All were mild in that the person would never do something against their will on the drug, but they all enhanced something in the person was already present.

As the caterer's prepared to bring in the food and drink for the party, Kasca slipped in and dosed the food. She built in a failsafe with the powder that one could not overdose. Once the blood reached a saturation point, the rest would be secreted in sweat and urine, much like a vitamin. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt someone. This was all in good fun after all.

With a smile, she left to get ready for the party, amused at her harmless but fun prank idea.

Untitled1.png

A little over an hour later, Kasca returned in full costume. What costume had the pale woman decided to grace the party? She was dressed as a Cathar! An elaborate headdress and mask covered her head and half her face. The mask was stylized and painted to look like the species including the nose. It matched her pale coloring, including significant hair extensions to give herself a massive mane of white blond to dark brown hair that fell to her waist. She bought custom made fangs and had practiced speaking in them so she wouldn't have to take them out during the party in order to speak to others.

Her body was covered in a thin bodysuit that had fine fur all over it with varying shades of white blond with a dark brown area along her spine. She wore minimal dark brown cloth over the more sensitive areas of her body, choosing to look more primal than most Cathar display outside their home planet. Boots made to look like Cathar feet adorned hers and gloves with claws covered her hands. She grinned, showing her fangs and walked in with confidence.

The journey to CIS space had been an easy one. A steady excitement had been building up in her stomach the moment she'd set off. Surprises weren't usually her brothers style but as long as he didn't know there was a surprise to be had Faye couldn't see a problem. The journey was pleasant enough, Faye was used to the life of luxury and the ship she'd arrived in was nothing short of the word.

The party hall was only a short walk from where she landed. Yellow silk billowed around her matching shoes as she walked gracefully up the path and through the large double doors. The costume was from a favorite holofilm of hers. Faye had bunched her midnight black hair into a stylish bun on the top of her head and coupled it with a corn-silk blue bow that sat neatly at the base of her neck. On the top of her head she'd placed a glistening tiara that caught every ray of light and bounced it back a million times.

The second she stepped into the room she was met with a chorus of a hundred conversations. A sickly sweet smell filled the air, presumably from the hundreds of desserts and candy bowls decorating long tables. Costumes, drinking and dancing. It was almost like being back home.

Faye hung back for now, wrapping a gloved hand around the delicate structure of her wine glass. She knew nobody here and she would make no attempt to socialize with anyone, at least for now. If her sources were correct Adron would arrive shortly, she couldn't wait to see the look on his face.

Dianah was beyond excited. Halloween was her favorite time of year and when her Father had mentioned a Halloween party Dianah had practically screamed Sinner's Well down. There was no shortage of involvement on her part when it came to the eccentric decoration and the hoards of food and candy in the party hall. To that effect she was practically running toward the hall the moment Jaron had landed his ship. Her costume was a stroke of genius. For the longest of times Dianah was completely torn on what to wear, till her other half suggested something truly wild. Dianah was practically a costume in herself.

Her shape shifting abilities allowed her to turn into anything she wanted, which was perfect for a party of this type. The shift itself had taken forever. She'd spent a good hour and a half walking around Sinner's Well one half of her skin caramel colored and the other half a cold, dead blue. The stitches had taken the longest though. There were hundreds of them holding all kinds of body parts together from her ankles to her wrist and they were as real as they came. Dianah wasn't sure if the body parts would come away if the stitches fell out but it would be an amazing party trick if they did.

Deep red hair flowed across her shoulders and down the length of her back and she'd grown at least an inch or two in height. Her face had hallowed out and most of the muscle and fat surrounding her body had melted away into nothing. The idea was to look like half-dead. Like someone had sewn her together and brought her back to life. Dianah was very impressed with herself. She'd even managed to convince Jaron to wear a costume to match.

'Keep up Jaron, Maddy is waiting for us inside!'

Dianah called back to Jaron as she pushed the double doors open and walked through them confidently. In the middle of the hall she spotted her friend Madalena and gave her an excited wave. Tonight was going to be fun.

A'Runda was still new to gatherings like this and was certainly not used to the added prospect of dressing up in costumes. But he liked the idea. He was just worried if he could act the part. The Tusken found it easy for him to find a quick and easy costume for himself, being just a pretty simple morphsuit that covered his entire body. Since he was sure that a Tusken going to a party dressed as a Tusken would be kind of lame. But then again his costume wasn't very fancy at all.
Entering the party in his simple suit the fully covered individual looked around at the other guests. Then he got part of the idea of dressing up was to be kind of revealing. Maybe the poor Tusken wouldn't feel so great here, he thought people would were more full, body covering costumes like himself. But sometimes you kind just need to go with the flow of things, such was the case when being brought into the Confederacy, such bizarre events weren't good to overthink too much he thought.

Feeling like a bit of an outsider A'Runda made his way through the party, seeing all the neat costumes both revealing and not, certainly preferring one over the other. That was until he saw a certain someone who he thought was just straight up naked for a good second. Allowing the Tusken to experience a full body cringe. Not only from the sight of his owner but that she was also almost naked. This being the second time he'd experience such horror. Perhaps that was the scariest trick he'd need to come across the whole night.

Adron had attended hundreds of functions that required a certain attire or another. He had even been to a number of costume balls during his childhood on Serenno. He never enjoyed them, at least not the part where he had to find some ridiculous outfit. The people of Archae Teuthis had invited The Confederacy to a rather eccentric Luau on the beach of one of their more prestigious islands, Otok Bay. The saving grace to the evening was that [member="Alessandra Creed"] would be by his side, something that had become a comfortable constant in the past months.

The evening was coming to a peak as the horizon shone of a fiery gold that marked the sun's final moments of light for the day. Adron stood on a balcony overlooking the party below, his eyes locked on the sunset while he waited for his date for the evening. He wore a set of faux armor that had a deep grey coloration to it. Falling over his shoulders was a crimson cloak with a regal design flowing over it’s base. His waist had been accented with an ornamental sword that was imbedded with a red Ruby at the peak of the pommel. The final piece of his costume was the bright crown that was placed just above his ears. With dark gems gracefully covering the base of the crown it was very apparent what his costume was, he was a King.

For a man who already held himself in such esteem this was not exactly a foreign visage for him. Though the gems were a bit much. It had been Alessandra’s idea that they go to the Luau as King and Queen. While Adron was still not particularly excited about it there was some bit of amusement from their getups.

Adron glanced down to the crowd below with an arched eyebrow. He could pick out The members of The Confederacy, even his own apprentice who seemed to shift her form for the evening. Their people were always an excitable bunch, he was more than sure they would find the party exciting. As he took a sip from the glass of whiskey he had been hosting he felt The Force wash over him. It was familiar and…. Warm? His eyes scanned the room closely yet he could not place the source of that feeling. It was so familiar yet he could not place it to a single event or even a time. His hand went under his cloak searching for the lightsaber that hung on the back of his belt. Once his fingers ran over the cool metal of the hilt there was a slight relaxation that fell over his tensed body.

Another sip of whiskey would complete the action, but his eyes never left the crowd below him.

Faye moved slowly along the back wall of party hall, sipping the amber colored liquid in her wine glass every so often. People watching had been her favorite pass time for as long as she could remember, with new crowd to watch and some time to kill Faye couldn't help herself. First off was a rather curvaceous woman in practically nothing, she couldn't come up with a decent reason as to why she would want to be half naked but Faye admired her bravery and confidence.

There was a strange looking rag-doll woman who had clearly spent a lot of time and effort on her costume, it looked as real as the tiara on her head was. Faye mused that she must have a very powerful charm over her to make it seem so real. There was another woman in a wolf costume. If the fur was real Faye was very impressed. She hadn't expected the members of the CIS to be so suave.

Half way through her inspection of the man dressed up as a mummy a familiar force presence took over her sense. A wry smile breached the corners of her lips. The signature was as familiar to her as the rolling plains of Serenno. Her brother Adron had finally made an appearance. Faye scanned the crowds quickly, trying to pick out his tanned face from the hundreds that already stood in the hall. There was no use in trying though. There were too many people and the crowd was too thick. Faye let her eyes flutter to a close after taking a deep drink from her glass. The signature was stronger now there wasn't anything to be distracted by.

Oh, Addy... Where are you hiding?

Faye pressed her lilting, singsong thoughts into her elder brother's mind. If he wasn't aware of her presence before he definitely would be now.

At least it was black and highly encouraged to be this time. Jaron stood and looked at himself in the mirror as he was contemplating the look Dianah had picked out for him. While she took pride in the fact that she had won him over to the idea, Jaron knew well enough by now that she was not to be told no. He grinned as she called out to him, bouncing down the corridor having finally completed her transformation. It was one one moment where Jaron was highly jealous of her abilities as a shi'ido. If Jaron could do that alone, he would be a one thousand percent better as a scout than he already was. It was a huge advantage. His role was different now though. Rather than scout for Metus, Jaron was the commander of the personal guard for the Viceroy of Krant. That so happened to be the woman he lived with and whose bed he occupied.

Their journey to the party was uneventful as far as those trips can be. Naturally Dianah was as bouncy and as giddy as her usual self, and Jaron was as miserable as ever. The face was worn more for Dianah's entertainment more than that was who was anymore. Dianah had successfully pulled him from the miserable hovel that had been his own thoughts and pain from years of rejection. All of it had been channeled into the dark knight that he was now, and the passionate feelings he held for the woman that he called lover.

"I am coming..."

Jaron was glad they were meeting with friends, or one of Dianah's friends. Jaron did not know Maddie that well, but Dianah loved the woman, and what made Dianah happy made Jaron happy most days.

When the doors opened, Dianah went looking for Maddie and Jaron found them drinks. He managed grab three fluted glasses of whatever it was being served, and hoped it was going to be good. Waking up to the two women as they exchanged their greetings, Jaron tipped his head to Maddie and offered her a drink first. She was alone tonight it seemed, and Jaron wanted to ensure she was treated like the fine woman she was. THe second glass was handed to Dianah.

"Well shall we toast to drinking booze on the bankroll of the Confederacy," he said with a smirk, "Or perhaps the two hottest women in the room?"

'Twas the night of festivities, when all children heard
O' the lies and deceits of the jolly fat bird
With eyes of black beads and a beak of pure gold
A bird of misdeeds from days long and old...

A seven-foot-tall porg waddled its way through town, to the bewilderment and amusement of many. The laughter brought a genuine smile on Kip's face. Such holidays were a reminder of the importance of cutting lose and laughing at oneself. For a man often in a position of political view, it was often a habit to take oneself too seriously and, in turn, wear the mask that society prefers that you wear. But as Kip hobbled along encased in the fittings of a rotund, inflated bird of legend, he found himself freer and less disguised than on any other day. It was a good feeling.

Another great feeling was the crisp breeze that made its way into his porg-like trappings. It gave him a slight, welcoming chill despite the growing body warmth. It also carried on its back the scent of spiced food and catchy music, both of which captured his interest greatly. With great effort and speed, along with the occasional friendly wave to the natives and foreigners alike, the Black Porg shambled toward the food and music.

Bonfires crackled across the beach, the flames dancing in the gentle breeze as spicy, fragrant smoke rose through the air. The ocean was quiet, a burning liquid gold as the last tendrils of light from the setting sun lit the surface. As darkness fell, the sky above the luau came to life. Hundreds of softly glowing orbs of viridian and azure floated and bobbed above the heads of the guests, and wrapped around each torch in the sand were tiny sparkling lights of orange and scarlet, casting the scene in a soft light that was simultaneously beautiful and a little spooky. Music thrummed through the crowd, spinning everything from the familiar tunes of nostalgia to the slightly less-heard-of beats. Down by the water, a gathering of local musicians kept the more traditional rhythm of the locals alive, accompanied by a handful of dancers in ancient tribal clothing bearing colored flames in the palms of their hands.

Savory meats roasted over a grand bed of shimmering, burning coals. Tables piled sky high with drinks, foods and delicacies from every corner of their world stretched out from either side, and the scent was heavenly. The barrels of Almakian apples and Jogan fruit bobbing in water remained ignored for now, but it certainly wouldn’t stay that way for long. Brilliantly costumed guests, local and foreign, milled about as they tucked into their snacks and sipped their poisons. Laughter was everywhere. Conversation flowed, animated and wild. From wolves and catlike creatures to prominent figures from holofilms, the costume scene had gone above and beyond, filling the luau with a horde of remarkable characters the likes of which Archae Teuthis had surely never seen.

And in the middle of it stood an eight foot tall inflatable dinosaur desperately trying to jam a straw through the see-through mesh plating of its neck.

“Oh come on!” Lyla Quinn whined as she fumbled the can and dropped drink and straw altogether in her fifth attempt to take a sip through the costume. The cider landed on its side, bleeding its contents across the sand at her feet. “God kriffin’—” She huffed, her lekku twitching in irritation under the hot plastic confines of the dinosaur’s shape. “Let’s go inflatable, he said,” she muttered as she waddled determinedly back to the table of pastries and cider, her ‘head’ nodding back and forth in the breeze. “It’ll be FUN, he said.”
Speaking of, where WAS Kip Ridel? Fashionably late? She turned around a little, craning her neck, but she could barely see what was in front of her, let alone find her friend in a crowd of costumed people. Quinn stuck her hands in the T-rex’s tiny inflatable hands and made a swipe for another cider, but the minute she attempted to bring the drink to her face, it fell from her ‘claws’. “Aaaarrggh!!” The smuggler flailed her small arms at the nearest individual. “I JUST WANT SOME CIDER,” she cried out, her dinosaur head flung dramatically back as she ‘roared’ at the sky. “BUT MY ARMS ARE TOO SMALL.”

Slender fingers reached to adjust the bejeweled brassiere that she had donned that evening on the Ferocity. She looked down at it, a little perturbed, and wished that she was wearing anything else. The lack of clothing didn’t bother her as much as the excessive baubles that decorated almost every inch of her person. The sunlight reflected in such a way that it made shine like a beacon. The droid attendants had patterned layers of feminine face paint and glitter all over her skin to make their costume more “realistic”. They wanted to draw attention, as if sensing her hesitance, to force her to stand out. As if that didn’t happen enough already. The nearly albino Echani seemed to draw focus wherever she went. By the Goddess, she could probably be seen from orbit. Perhaps, that was why she remained down on the beach alone. Wasn’t that where Melodies were supposed to be anyway? Near water?

Srina Talon had a lot on her mind.

She could hear the music and the laughter coming from the summery structures at her back. Her eyes remained forward. The scent of ocean air and sound of the waves crashing against the shore was distracting enough to keep her from wondering about the mayhem that might have been going on with the rest of her people. As an Exarch she was required to show support. Much like [member="Adron Malvern"], who currently looked like old world royalty, it wasn’t a choice. It wasn’t enough just to arrive when the chips were down.

Social, combative, or otherwise—they had to be everywhere.

The white-haired woman twisted a seashell between her fingers while her legs remained restrained by the mermaid tail that made her half-piscine. There was a silk string on the side that could be pulled so that the tail pulled away and she could walk. Otherwise, she’d be doing the worm, in a most undignified manner to get from here to the festivities. At some point, she was supposed to make an appearance.

The night was still young. Someone [[member="Aryn Teth"]] was supposed to be meeting her but she wasn’t certain he’d make it. Often, his duties drew him in the opposite direction. She never complained. Never made a word of displeasure. It would have been hypocritical when the CIS drew her away just as often. The only difference was, he hid his ventures, where most of her tasks were a matter of public record. The details of where he went, what he did, or who he spoke to were a complete mystery.

Srina didn’t like being in the dark.

Gray eyes, a paler shade of winter, flickered from the open water and made her way up the shoreline. Still empty. A soft breeze stole her carefully braided and plaited hair that had been colored with pastel chalks to give it a holographic texture. A twisted metal and quartz headpiece added a little less light to the ensemble, but, it was rather pointy. It hurt if she messed with it too much but she couldn’t quite get it off without yanking out a ton of hair. It was maddening. How was this realistic? Melodies, from what she understood, were not nearly this extravagant but they did find themselves enamored with fanciful things in the watery world of which they lived. Starfish, pearls, the oil slick inside of a shell…

At least she’d done a little research on her attire. Her droid attendants had been insistent. It was either this or something they’d referred to as a rebellious teenager. A Melodie seemed far more harmless.

No matter how much Adron drank he could not shake this eerie feeling from the back of his mind. The hairs on the back of his neck stood as they did when The Force was warning him of something but this time he didn't feel danger….. He felt anticipation? His body was eager as it reacted to the waves of emotions and feelings that flowed through him.

What the hell is going on? He mused silently as his eyes continued to scan the crowd below.

Then like a pinpoint pressed in the center of his palm, he could feel it. His eyes widened as he pushed himself from the balcony in front of him. “No…” He muttered, not believing this all too familiar feeling that came over him. It was followed by an ocean of anger as he finally realizes what was happening. Someone must have been trying to tap into his emotions or his memories, invoking these old feelings.

They were crossing lines and they were going to die for it. Setting his glass down Adron turned to the staircase behind him with a very certain stride. It had been awhile since someone had done something this stupid to piss him off but he was not any less eager to deal out the punishment. As his left hand took the banister leading him down to the main level his free hand gave off a subtle twitch. The hilt of his lightsaber flew into his hand and he had to resist rolling his thumb over the activation pad. He was not paused until he set foot on the main floor and then he heard her voice, echoing through the back of his mind.

The voice was like a song he had forgotten he knew. Every experience flooded his mind to the point where the expression on his face betrayed his generally Stoic appearance.

Faye…” He muttered the name as it felt foreign on his lips. When he looked up next he saw her. Faye Malvern, his younger sister, stood only a few meters away from him and he was dumbfounded. Still keeping his lightsaber in hand he walked towards the woman, it was impossible for him to hide his surprise. He simply stated at her until he was finally able to speak. “You're….you're alive?

Now, Lirka was a brutally and bloody lunatic but she knew how to actually partake in the thing some people called fun, an absolutely terrifying prospect to anyone who actually knew the Sephi. She had even gotten most of her Honor Guard to buzz off and just let her have fun: and for once fun wasn’t just drinking more booze than any one person ever should!

Lirka had taken the small joke of dressing like a Stormtrooper, anyone who knew what to look off could tell where the actual joke was: it wasn’t a costume, it was a literal suit of Stormtrooper armor she had snagged from their fights against remnants of the Empire. No sight of the poor sod who used to wear it, wasn’t horribly shocking to consider it belonged to someone else beforehand: she barely fit in the thing, not a whole lot of people with the exact body type of Lirka, so instead of being some walking suit of armor with suffering alcoholism she was a Stormtrooper who showed a bit more skin than what is effective in combat: and had suffering alcoholism.

Lirka had gone off to drink, shocker, but once the drugs had taken hold within her she had taken a scary transformation she was an actually nice person, not a single broken jaw yet, with booze in hand she engaged in the jolly little festivities with (likely less than willing) patrons of the bar she was despoiling: making as much as a scene as ever, singing away with a drinking song in her usual fluent Huttese.

“Dia!” Madalena gave a high pitched scream as she caught Dianah’s Force Presence from across the room. Half-bouncing and half-running, the near naked Sithling made her way towards the woman who was quickly becoming a dear friend. It was one of those nights in which Madalena was glad for her abilities with the Force; she’d had never recognized the shape Dia had shifted into otherwise, as she looked so different from her usual self. But Dia was a Shi’ido, and once Madalena picked her scent up through the Force for the first time, she would hold it forever, except for times in which her access to the Force was severed.

Dia’s boyfriend, Jaron, was another matter. Madalena didn’t know him very well at all as he was most often inclined to keep to himself. Really, he and Dia were like daylight and moonlight compared to each other, and Madalena wondered if that was one of the things that glued them together. Anyone taking the simplest glance would be a fool not to realize how well the two completed each other, even if it often seemed their outer layers were too different to match.

Madalena released Dia from a lung crushing hug and bounced around her, eying the delicate skin work with wide eyes. “This is amazing!” she did not bother to hide the excitement in the voice, “did you shift skin into all these stitches too or was that manually done afterwards?” She could come up with at least five different ways of how to do it, but she wanted to know how Dia had. The work was superb and if Maddy hadn’t known any better, she would have thought she was seeing a real flesh and blood rag doll. Well, she was, but that was not the point.

Jaron then returned, holding glasses. Madalena laughed as she took her glass from him and offered a very careful kiss on the cheek as to not disturb the art-level make up work that had been done to his face. Was that his own work, she wondered, or Dia’s? “I love your make up!” she told him in earnest, the wide grin never moving off her face.

“Booze?” she asked as Jaron offered the toast, and glanced at her glass. She’d promised herself she wouldn’t drink since that time she woke up with memory loss. But… It had been over a month. Maybe she could… But she probably shouldn’t… Ugh hard decisions were hard. “How about to stupid cults that are forever dead, and new friendships?” she offered, looking at both of them.

It was a game to Faye now, she could feel her elder brother's concern and anger bubbling over like stew in a pot. She could help but tease him, poking and prodding in places she didn't quite belong. It was a dangerous game. She knew the extent of her brother's power but she was nearly certain once he knew it was her the uneasy feeling would melt away like butter in the sun. Still, Faye couldn't resist. She pushed further into his mind, tickling the corners of it with her own eccentric powers. Faye moved slowly around the edges of the party, sticking close to the wall and keeping her fiery amber eyes on shuffling crowd.

You were always so quick to anger...

The signature shifted, quickly and without warning, growing rapidly as the Exarch of the Confederacy raced to find the source of the pressing force that invaded his mind. She was a hairs breadth away from calling out his name when she caught the first glimpse of her brother. It had been eight years. Eight long years since she'd seen his chiseled features and looked into his deep captivating eyes. A smile broached her expression that was filled to the brim with relief and unbridled joy.

'Adron...'

A quick flash of silver drew her gaze away from his familiar ocean blue eyes to the lightsaber clutched in his grasp. Faye struggled to maintain her composure as a laugh bubbled up from the depths of her throat. It was just like him to be on guard, ready and prepared for danger no matter the situation. Given their past she couldn't blame him, not for a minute. She had been very young when they had fled their home world and for eight years the two had been separated, growing and developing in different corners of the Galaxy. Pure chance had brought Faye to the Confederacy in search of him and luck had led her the rest of the way.

'Yes, I am alive...'

The shock on his face wasn't entirely what she expected. Seeing him again brought up such emotion that Faye was almost overwhelmed with it. In one graceful step she closed the distance between them and slipped her arms around his waist. It was hard to maintain the regal expression that she'd practiced for twelve years before abandoning Serenno so to save face she buried her head into the faux armor decorating his chest. Tears threatened to escape her eyes and she was forced to swallow the lump in her throat to regain some control over her emotions.

'I'm so happy to see you.'

Her voice wobbled dangerously, though it didn't really matter now. The rest of the party had faded into the background. Faye had almost forgotten what it was like to have someone you loved and someone who loved you back in close proximity. It was one luxury she had been sorely missing for the past eight years.

Would his life ever be simple?

The answer to that question was painfully obvious and even irrelevant at this point. When Adron and his House had been exiled from Serenno he was forced to distance himself from his younger sister. His transition into the Galactic Empire tripled his enemies and he could not risk her safety. He had employed spies to keep him updated of her movements for the first year, however it was not long after that Faye disappeared from their eyes. He assumed she had perished or been captured by one of his enemies. To see her here, as if she had never parted his side, was staggering.

Faye quickly closed the distance between them and as her arms were wrapped around his waist Adron felt a sensation flow over him that was almost foreign. Family. When he had discovered his older brother’s identity it had been a humbling experience, but Adron had not grown up with Kainan or held any love for him. Faye, his little sister, was a piece of him that he was sure had been gone.

Her voice threatened to tremble and an all too familiar smile came to Adron’s face as her warmth washed over him. “It's good to see you, little sister.” He said, wrapping his arms around her and leaning down to place a soft kiss on the crown of her head.

"Are you ready?!"

A voice could be heard across the room as Ar'ekk eventually started to finish putting together his rather eccentric outfit for today's Halloween themed party, invited thanks to the courtesy of some really great friends. Their aim was to put together a very ancient-esque looking costume together, him and Athena, that not only looked good but was pretty obvious at first sight and that wasn't too difficult to identify at first glance.

There was no doubt in his mind that Athena would look stunning regardless of what she wore or how she looked, that's how beautiful she was in his eyes and when he first laid eyes upon her beautiful outfit his heartbeat began to race rapidly. The approval was instant and the dorky smile on his face just spoke by itself, if they were going to get there in time then they had to leave right away.

For their luck, the trip from Lithios to their destination wasn't going to take too long so they would definitely not miss anything from the party. They would arrive right on time to mingle with new and old faces, have a few drinks and dance. Perfect day indeed.

"You look absolutely beautiful."

Next stop? The party!

Alessandra moved through the masses without a care. Otok Bay was a little more upper-class than many in the Confederacy were used to, but, at the end of the day, it was still nothing compared to Brentaal IV. She had grown up among the social elite and never shied away from wealth or the potential for power. It was in her blood. Both as a Creed and a Brentioch. Her parents were titled. It was only fitting that she attend this little gathering with something befitting both her station and the disposition of her date.

[member="Adron Malvern"] was among one of the few that her unbreakable will would bend for. He had asked for a costume, something simple, and royalty had been the first thing that sprang to mind. She’d sent for a seamstress and metalworker the same afternoon and it had been settled easily enough. No matter how many bodies filled this hall, laughing, dancing and generally enjoying the merriment she would always be able to find him.

After their excursion to space unknown and a starship crash that had nearly killed them?

His presence in the Force stood out to her like a beacon.

“Red. Dry.”, she spoke to the bartender that seemed to be making drinks at a rapid-fire pace. The glass of wine that had been placed in her hand was among the food that had been tainted by the [TRICK] portion of the evening. She didn’t drink too often but in situations like this? She saw nothing wrong with making the evening more bearable. She sampled it as she made obligatory rounds. Speaking to other Ministers, Viceroyals, and thanking their hosts for the gracious gathering.

Once her required duties were complete she moved to find the Serenno man that had somehow managed to endear himself to her. Crimson lips were set in a partially wicked smile, imagining him in armor, swathed in red, and every bit the King she required. Leisurely footsteps made steady clicks on the floor as her dangerously high heels led toward the balcony. She was clad in wholly in onyx, the Black Queen, to Adron’s Red King. Svelte, gorgeous, and tempting. What should have resulted in a light teasing and activities that smudged her carefully applied makeup was not to be.

No, instead, she watched while Adron Malvern not only embraced another woman—but kissed the top of her head.

She couldn’t hear the words being spoken. Alessandra, did not care. Her anger came sudden, born of betrayal, and lashed out like a whip that the amethyst jewel around her neck could not hope to contain. The drugs that had tainted her wine amplified normal responses to the point of leading it directly to fury. The crash of glass hitting the floor would alert the secretive couple, but, more than anything the sight of a steadily growing fireball in her hand should cause reason for alarm.

Chestnut eyes, flecked with cinnamon, remained dark. So dark that the color could not be seen. It wouldn’t be until closer inspection that anyone would know that her pupils were blown. The color had been eaten away by darkness. “You…”, Alessandra breathed, gaze fixated on the harlot-woman, while flame leapt around slender digits. “Should be running.”

Adron. She hoped he held his ground. Tried to explain. She could feel something between them. A fondness, a connection, and it caused her endlessly beautiful features to take on the guise of something new. Jealousy was not an unfamiliar emotion to her.

This was just the first time, perhaps the last time, that Adron would have the pleasure of it.

“I warned you.”

Don’t betray me. Don’t lie to me. Don’t deceive me. The fireball left her hand without warning and launched itself at the Exarch of the Confederacy. Treason, definitely, but worth it.
