HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Xiaolong Palace dates back to the Old Republic, having been the seat of power for the Xiaolang King during the era of Twelve Warring Kingdoms in Atrisia's distant past. Some of the artwork still present in the castle comes from Xiaolang's conquest of neighboring Quan'Lo, a fact that remains open to protest and dispute to the modern era. When the Kitel Phard Dynasty united the Nine Kingdoms, the Xiaolang Palace became home to the government offices for the vassal or feudal lord who oversaw the administration of what was dubbed the Xiaolang Autonomous Administrative Region. It was at this point that a descendant of Sawa Ike rose to prominence, creating the line of descendants that would come to be known as the House of Atrisia with the Ike dynasty.

The current physical structure was erected during the first Galactic Empire, though not completed until 9 ABY. It was heavily damaged during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, with reconstruction taking place through the Swarm War and not completed until 127 ABY. Throughout the Gulag Plague and Clockwork Rebellion, the palace continued to serve as government offices supporting the Imperial Remnant splinter faction that came to prominence as the Atrisian Empire of Emperor Akio Kahoshi.

During Atrisia's occupation by the Empire of the One Sith, the Xiaolang Palace was used as a summer palace by Emperor Mythos.

As Xiaolang is on the opposite side of the planet from the Imperial City of Jar'Kai, the palace and surrounding city of Xam'Chi was relatively unscathed by the Battle of Atrisia that waged between the One Sith and the Galactic Alliance in 849 ABY. By 851 ABY, reconstruction efforts by the Galactic Alliance and several corporate donors had resulted in normal governmental activities resuming on the planet Atrisia out of the Xiaolang Palace, making it the temporary world headquarters while reconstruction of Jar'Kai continued.

Following the reconstruction of Jar'Kai, government function was returned to the Atrisian Parliament there and the planetary capital returned to its historic home. Afterward, Xiaolang Palace resumed its previous role as a summer palace for the royal family, while also becoming home to the Royal Navy owing to its integral role in the planetary defense grid. When the Atrisian Parliament voted to enact an exploration mandate, the Royal Exploration Corps became an addition to the palace, with Prince Shoma as their royal sponsor.

The years have seen many advancements to the cities and their military facilities after the Imperial attack focused at the single city of Jar'kai the Commonwealths improvements have worked to overhaul many of the defenses. Junko visiting it and the palace the military base oversees and defends while she moves across Atrisia. It allowed her to work with the Sansin to incorporate newer technologies throughout the city which allowed the palace to have its foundation and systems reinforced. New turrets and infrastructure with their adaptive fortifications. The citizens of Atrisia settling it as the population would continue to rrise and bolster much of the growth.
