“Hey! Your mother says that.” She nudged Connel and took his arm in hers as Buster was trotting happily alongside them. They walked together along the serene path, the warm sunlight casting a golden glow on their trail. Connel smiled at her playful gesture, feeling a sense of comfort in their companionship. Buster wagged his tail, as if sharing in the lighthearted moment, creating a scene of simple joy.

Grunt Grunt… Grr argh… This was a rare moment that shows really how private Connel was, never did he show this side of him. It was either a showing of how much he trusted Ike, or how he easily he was himself around Lira. Or both.

Me? I don’t know. I was born on Corellia, Gold Beaches. I love to cook, I can fix anything. This little guy… She gave Buster a quick scritch. ... he taught he I love animals… She wasn't hiding anything, just clearly had never been asked this question. Or at least not in a long time.

She gave a nod listening to Lira as Connel made a joke... and that was progress and that was good. She moved around while watching though but spoke. "Corellia, always some of the best people... next to Hapes. Leggy blondes are the forces gift but a Corellian with a hydrospanner I have noticed is one of the most powerful forces in the galaxy. Mostly cause they cheat at cards." She had experience with Sor-Jan and he had done much but also taught her even more about dealing with the planet... Helped the green jedi at least some of them were friends. "The few interactions I have had with him does convince me buster has a force power to make everyone like him." She looked at Connel for a moment. "Your father would be proud... Or at least challenge her to am arm wrestling match."

“Yeah, it’s ingrained in our blood.” She chuckled. Her father taught her how to play Dejarik, but it was her mother that taught her how to win and never get caught… if she was cheating that is. wink

He saved my life in a lot of ways. Now it was Connel’s turn to give Buster a proud scritch. The pup could sense his emotions and rubbed up against him with his trademark enormous smile. The bond between them was evident, a mix of gratitude and affection. Connel’s scritches grew softer as Buster nuzzled closer, their connection a silent testament to loyalty. In that moment, the weight of past struggles eased, replaced by the simple joy of companionship and shared memories.

When Matsu mentioned how Caltin would be proud, there was another rare moment of open vulnerability. Connel shut UP. Not shut down, but shut up. Pursing his lips, a huge lip trembling smile. Lira saw this and recognized it right away, putting an arm around his neck. Don’t mind him, he’s okay… just finally doing things for himself, without help… his words… it just hits him when he hears that now. She gave him a peck on the cheek and a look. You alright?

Connel looked at her, smiled and nodded, mouthing the words “yeah, thanks for being here.”

She looked at him and spoke while moving. "Connel as someone who can remember much. The force gave many in my family the gift of memorry and once we have enough thought we can remember things. So take it from someone whose mother literally conceived her to avenge a family she would never know, to fight and go after people who didn't even remember her name." She said it while moving. "So in terms of parents believe me we all have things. The best we can hope to do is try and make things different for our children. Which I might have done a little too much but all of them are good and enjoy themselves within the jedi. Even if Orihime won't tell me who insulted her in the one conclave. She seems to think I will send them to a place they can't get out of for making my baby girl cry."

It took him the better part of a minute and a half to figure out exactly what she was saying, when he finally understood, Connel nodded. I understand that. He was a great man, and I want to make him proud. My problem was, he knighted me. I started down the path of a Shadow on a holo-call from him, he set up training for me. I was very much a nepo baby. There was absolutely no bitterness in his voice.

I’m sorry that your daughter went through such an experience. That entire enclave was a respectable idea, but …

Then Lira interrupted. That’s the thing you walked out of, right? The one your flighty Schutta of an ex tried to manipulate you in? Yeah, that was a fustercluck!

SHe gave him a nod to that and then Lira spoke and she gave a larger one. "That is what I have heard, the last one I attended was no better. Mostly them saying they need new stuff and rejecting anything offered." She didn't comment about his ex mostly cause she didn't know who it was but she had seen many things at the conclaves. "The well there just was one, it was interesting. No clear direction aside from jedi gathering and teach but that is what all of them do." She shrugged as moving along the surface she came to the entrance she had exited from. The ear of the large ardana covered in ice. "This leads into where I saw... the golden tree of kyber fruits was interesting. I am going to theorize that the kyberite in the ice and water has altered the fruit to be like edible crystals. If there is a solari variant that forms on lightside worlds."

Edible Kyber? That is crazy to think about. He was not as traveled as Master Ike, who was? The thought of Kyber having multiple uses was intriguing. He wondered if Kyber could be harnessed for purposes beyond lightsabers, such as energy sources or even sustenance. The idea of edible Kyber challenged conventional understanding, sparking curiosity about its potential in fields like medicine, technology, or even survival in extreme environments.

Then Lira interrupted. Master Ike, Are you like, a God? She was not trying to be childish. However there were Jedi, and there was… her… she was floating and not entirely into the conversation. It was interesting to watch.

"Yes edible, it is infused in the water that feeds into the roots and fruit. It is kind of like a sugar on the outside." She said it with a look on her face with a smile. Then she heard Lira and looked at her for a moment as she tapped her chin. "Well when my wife usually sees me nude she says I look divine so... maybe?" She said it like a question and thought about what Hanna Ike Hanna Ike would say in that situation... okay the leggy and tall Hapan would laugh but it would be worth it. She was moving down the hall as the bunny-cat gave a small look and she motioned for him. "It is alright, go on ahead. Just be safe." It seeme dot be looking at her and gaave a nod of its head before it was moving forward.

Connel did not need to ask the question to know that they were both going to regret hearing the answer. In fact she looked at him grimace after she asked it and recognized the look… and when the answer came… sure enough.

Connel just looked at her and smirked. Welcome to my world. Sure, there was more to it, but yeah, that was his life. It was a mixture of constant learning, threat analysis and cringe worthy stories.

Then Lira noticed Buster watching the Bunnycat intently. You wanna go with your new friend? Connel nodded, and of course Buster was “politely” asking with his little dance. Lira just gave him a scritch. Go ahead then, just stay where we can see each other, okay? A few happy spins later and Buster was off.

He was a GREAT dog, very well behaved and they could trust him but this was a new world to the both of them, have to be safe, right?

She looked at the two of them and nodded. "What, a jedi is supposed to be honest when asked and Connel and his father are one of the few people who actually has met Hanna. She brings snacks to the temple at times." She said it but looked at the bunny-cat and buster as they had become friends by sharing food... and now he was moving through the halls down deeper and rolling. "But there is always more and I am no more immortal then any other jedi. Older, skilled at healing and molecular manipulation which allows for greater control in things" She said it as the pathway down opened into the chamber, gold and silver treees with branches around the ceiling and room. Fruits that looked like laarge crystals and the jedi master moved back as she went to her field kit. Picking it up with the smaall tools so that she was able to work. "I was collecting samples."

Lira just laughed, both at Buster taking off and at Matsu’s explanation. Point made…

... and taken.

When the pathway reached the chamber, Connel began to honestly marvel at the trees, the look of the chamber and trees around it. Caltin was an eager student and lover of history, Connel was that way about ecosystems. No, he wasn’t “some environmental nut” but just something like this, you don’t see everyday.

Inspired, he walked over and reached to pick one or two of the fruits, but waited until the go ahead from Master Ike.

She looked at them as they did the thing. "You two already finish each others sentences." SHe was pointing back and forth with a finger and holding in a laugh at the two of them with a small giggle. "That is adorable." She said it and had her small tools while she hovered up and motioned he could begin. "See what you can find, we have plenty and I have not experimented for potential lightsaber crystals. As food well they have been tasted and so far no ill results. The trees themselves if there is a chance to get and preserve a sample that is able to use." She slipped a tool out while she was going with it and was scrapping slivers of the tree and crystals.

Lira just looked on pridefully as the two of them had a bit of a moment. That to go with the compliment made even Connel smile genuinely. He was about to say something but he was interrupted, not that he was expecting her to say “no” to him wanting to pick a couple of fruits, he just didn’t expect her to be so forward about it.

Grabbing a couple of fruits of different sizes, he walked over to Lira and offered them. Ladies first.

She grinned devilishly and picked the first fruit that was offered to her, the bigger one. As she bit into it, her eyes widened in surprise. Connel’s eyes widened as well, but not in surprise, in shock. The fruit was supposed to be sweet, but this? Yeah… sweet.

Lira kept eating. Her tastebuds aligned more with this, where Connel was more “sour”. She looked at him, and he looked back.

Matsu laughed as she was watching them and thought about Hanna Ike Hanna Ike for a moment as she could pop in and see what her wife was doing.. the hapan blonde was likely with their granddaughter now. She was thinking about it as something on the edge of her senses came. The molecules vibrating mentally but she didn't make a large motion. Herr hand shifting for Connel to see. Something small and non verbal to get a pause when she was listening. She moved back and the bunny-cat had stopped while it looked around. SHe didn't make more sounds before she was moving back and moved to the ceiling of the room itself. Motioning with a hand as she listened more.

Her fingers came up as she indicated two and the first sounds came. More melodic in their voices, something interesting but she stopped as they entered and paused. "The tracks came in here." Matsu looked down at the pale skinned women as she slipped in the air behind and the bunny-cat was coming down as it jumped in front of them and the one spoke as she turned and Matsu was there. "Venerable guests we are the Khaevor, ourr orracle of the The Janni-Sultanas saw you coming." They seemed to bow as their forms went to the ground and Matsu looked forr Connel and Lirra as she might have to relook at that whole god thing. "We have not seen people since the jedi arrived."

Buster, come. Buster was on his way back as they were making their way into the first room. There was something about this that was setting off his instincts and he was uneasy about the situation. His senses were heightened as he detected an unusual scent or sound that didn't belong. The three paused, wary of potential danger lurking nearby, and prepared to investigate further. Buster's behavior suggested they needed to stay alert and cautious in this unfamiliar environment.

Yes, Master Ike was here and had skills he could not fathom, but he was not going to let his guard down. Lira could take care of herself, but it was the “Vanagor” in him that made him want to protect her, the both of them, even Master Ike.

When the people came running out, they were met with the sight of a massive wave of confusion from Connel, and he was immediately on his guard. Not so much because he did not understand, but because Buster had come running and slipped in between him and Lira. She was comforting the startled pup as her hand was instinctively hovering near where her blaster was. Connel himself just stood between them. There was no need for escalation if they could help it.

Matsu was looking at Connel and he was prepared as she gave a nod but not to fight. Waiting there when the women were looking up at her before she spoke. "Rise but what do you mean since the jedi visited?" SHe asked it while looking at them and the two remained there for a moment. One of them speaking as the other turned to bow and show they were not armed. "Long ago, a ship came from far away. it crashed and in it was a terrible army, powerful and they tried to conquer the planet but they didn't understand the elements here or the creatures." She spoke and Matsu looked up at Connel... they might have an answer about the leviathan.

"These ships, where we are from they belonged to the Pius Dea." There was a spark of acknowledgement. "Yes that is what they were called and there were soldiers and a jedi with them who help rally our people to survive. They were unable to return to their galaxy. Even if we had given them our ship we had to information or navigational logs that could be used. THe jedi aided us, organized our people and created the Janni to teach us the force and the lightside of the force. on this world we have been able to do much and were told one day the jedi would find us because of the lightside of the force on the world."

She didn’t have to worry about him fighting, this was just instinct, after all they were on a planet apparently aligned. If anything it was more for intent. Hey… The word was simple… but it was the intent in Lira’s voice. So he reached back and let her take his hand, fingers interlacing.

She wasn’t afraid, but she was… uncertain, that’s okay, so was he. There was comfort though now. She could somehow feel his strength. This was clearly his world, outside of her, Buster, and the others (like his mother for one).

Forgive me for interrupting, but you sound troubled. Is something wrong?

"The two of them looked and bowed. "Sorry, we do not mean offense. We just... we do not know how to respond to you." Matsu raised an eyebrow.. Connel was large and intimidating sure but. "A jedi or a big man? Both?" SHe said it and the two seemed to think about it. "A man... we don't know what this is." Matsu looked between them and then at Connel and Lira with a look. "Aah man is a male of the species." She moved over and was looking at them. They seemed to be there and looking. "We are Khaevor, we are a species." Matsu looked at Connel and she spoke. "Mono-gendered? Maybe, possibly or like zeltrrons their version of males could easily look slender and like them as opposed to muscular."

Monogendered? What a crazy thought, though they are out there. How do you procreate? Though it had the tact of a sledgehammer, it was a question that had been genuine coming out of her mouth. Lira was curious, and obviously never had experienced anything like this. She was used to the binary of male and female.

The two looked for a moment as Matsu both was curious and wanted to facepalm... but she also wanted to learn as the woman spoke and was taking them up the ramp. "We go to the matrons, they create eggs that are then set within chambers and mature. When the time comes we raise the children." Matsu was listening and mentally making notes as she thought about it and was trying to map the species itself.. if they had different purposes or parts of the race then maybe they would be able to really come and understand them.. or the world. A lightside world that knew the jedi were known could prove invaluable with its remoteness and isolation here.
