First Reply Where the Sky Kisses Kyber

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Matsu stood alone atop A jagged snow-dusted peak, her eyes looking at the vast expanse of a world shrouded in ethereal white silence and mists. Her long obsidian black hair dancing wildly but not in the crisp mountain wind. The air moving her hair was elsewhere, her body floating just off the surface of the stone and snow. Her body gliding through the molecules and atoms as mentally she moved the strands of her hair as they were whipping like silken threads and she gazes outward. Her back to the construction as it was being worked on and built. A flowing, translucent gown of pale silver clings to her petite form, trailing behind her like a cascade of mist, merging seamlessly with the sea of clouds that rolls endlessly below. The force radiating off of her form as she breathed in and then outwards mechanically.

The sun hangs high in the clear skies casting a radiant glow that bathes the distant snow-capped mountains in golden light, while she stands perfectly still. Lost in quiet contemplation of the infinite strands and threads she can see from the horizon, her posture one of serene vigilance as if listening to the whispers of the universe itself. She allowed the force to show her the timestreams and flows of the force itself. Below Matsu, seated cross-legged in the deep untouched snow just a few paces from her Grandmaster, the young padawan meditates in serene defiance of the biting cold. Her rich honey brown skin glows warmly against the frozen landscape, long dark hair braided loosely and dusted with frost as swirling clouds drift around her bare shoulders and arms. The small thin line of her lips pressed together as the mist washes over her for a moment.

Clad only in a simple, flowing white-silver training robe with gold and orange trimming that clings delicately to her form with its intricate black borders shimmering faintly in the high-altitude sunlight she sits motionless, palms resting upward on her knees in a gesture of profound focus. Fingers touching as the index and thumb pressed together. Her eyes remain gently closed, breath steady and visible in faint plumes as she channels the ancient Jedi force techniques but also she was following the training of her grandmaster. Transcending the piercing wind and numbing chill allowing her mind to wander the vast currents of the force while her body endures the elements unyielding. Matsu, ever vigilant, stands as silent guardian and teacher, her own presence a quiet guardian for the trial unfolding in the white silence.

The force thrummed like a crystal chamber. The room of a thousand fountains was similar with every vibration but from up here she could feel it from the force. Her hands remained clasped behind herr while she stayed there watching but her summons was felt. Kanja Offee approaching as the mirilian stood in her robes with a nod of head. "Master we have reports." She said it and bowed as Matsu came over and looked for a moment. "I see." Her attention was going to the padawan as she spoke. "I will head out see that she finishes and is able to be taken care of inside." She received a nod of the jedis head as she looked out on the temple that was being constructed. her hand closing for a moment while she allowed the force energies to wrap around her body. Matsu didn't vanish in a flash of light; instead, the world simply began to lose its density. To those watching, she might have seemed to shimmer like a mirage before her presence grew faint, as if she were becoming a memory.

For Matsu, the sensation was like stepping into a shallow stream that ran just beneath the floor of the temple. The physical world remained visible, but it was now the unbeing a gray, overlapping reality ribbon where the physical and the force bled together. The construction droids became slow-moving shadows, and the half-built spires of the temple stretched upward like skeletal fingers into a sky that was no longer blue, but a swirling vortex of silver and obsidian. This was the perimeter of reality. Matsu found the specific ribbon, the specific current of the force that acted as a cosmic shortcut. She stepped onto it, her boots making no sound on the shimmering path. Her body was focused, expanding and contracting... over and over and more. A thousand lifetimes as she could see it and it was like she was once again in the sea of origins. The force giving her much more to be able to see.... the membrane of the force thinning as she moved into and around with it.

She moved with a rhythmic, practiced gait, her mind focused on the crystalline resonance of the world of Shimmersand. Around her, the unbeing pressed in. It was a realm of echoes; she could see the ghostly outlines of stars passing by like distant embers under ice. Because this layer intermingled so closely with the physical, she could feel the gravity of the planets she bypassed, a gentle tugging at her along the path. Time began to dilate. A million light-years felt like a hundred paces. The gray haze of the unbeing began to ripple, the silver ribbon beneath her feet vibrating as it aligned with the rugged, mountainous terrain of the Outer Rim. The unbeing started to regain its being the shadows of the void coalescing into the purple-hued atmosphere and high-altitude winds of her destination. She could see aa thousand worlds of the jedi drift by... worlds that she knew, ones that she knew about... places others hand't seen in a lifetime and ones lost to myth for many jedi.

She could see the veil and the blackwall as they pierced and obscured the hyperspace dimensions... Her attention was there With a final, deliberate breath, Matsu stepped off the ribbon and allowed the physical world to solidify around her once more. The cold silence of the Netherworld snapped away, replaced instantly by the thin, sharp air and the distant of the jedi who were coming. She stood upon the kyber rocks of Shimmersand, the journey complete before the dust on her shimmering robes had even settled. She had known many of the aspects that had gone into the discovery after the Planeshift. A dangerous place on the far edges of the companion galaxies aas it had been found once before... by the pius dea. Theirr ancient cathedral ship was there ancient and frozen over. The jedi who had sabotaged it long gone but they had found their logs as Matsu had revied every aspect of it. Including the spcies that had found the world before and called it home.

The world was unknown.. the jedi master had tracked across the worlds several things but she felt it in the force... and she saw it. THe swirling winds on the world at parts of it were deformed from space... the remains of an ardana were there... visible from space on the planet. Other parts of it were obscured... possibly broken apart as the jedi master moved. There was a beacon for those who wanted to come and explore or provide aid... she had the ship deploying the beacon as she moved towards the hanger bay and had her robes. THe survival pack was there and other equipment. SHe stood there in the hand for a moment as the force wrapped around her body... a shimmer for a moment and the jedi master was sustaining herself as the hanger doors opened. The air rushing out as she flew forward and towards the planet with her robes remaining close.

The shimmer of heat against the force shield she was projecting around herself... the rush and feeling of her stomach as she accelerated towards the world and allowed the force to guide her pathway going down and towards the large Ardana. She felt someone latch onto her shoulder as the bunny cat like creature purred with its large ears for the moment. They entered the atmosphere and she remained up there for a moment.. letting the sunlight gleam against the shimmering silver robes.. her black hair for a moment floating weightless... she allowed the force to stretch out across the world... the star system itself as she drew in with a breath... her mind feeling and following it... there in the distance. A small sliver... a flicker of energy. Sor-Jan was experienced and said tracking a single flake of snow in a blizzard on hoth.

She didn't spend to long there... narrowing her focus as she allowed the force to guide her down towards the mountains... the ebony stone jutting from the surface like a massive fist as another was carved in the look of a face. Her eyes searching for a moment as the first signs of something else was there... carved structures.... thick walls and streets of stone that weaved through as she touched down. Her hand coming out as she traced the energies around... guiding her sight along the buildings and further into it all... more structures built in and more streets that wound around into an area that looked like a marketplace. The central area where she was searching as she wrapped the force around herself and began to shape the earth itself... wrapping it around so she could move through it down into the lower chambers.

The lowest chambers glowed as she came into them... her eyes roaming around but she could feel it as the scents of life and water was down there. The romm opening to show a tree that was larger than the room. Its branches stretched and twined around the whole of the hall, some of gold, some of silver; with leaves of kyber, and fruit of other precious gems. She could see them and slid one of the smaller artisan field kits from her belt. The bunny cat by her side roaming around and playing with some of the crystals that were growing on the vines. Her attention going to it as the kit was testing the gemstones for their purity and viability to be used in a lightsaber or with anything else. THey might be able to use it like a tobel crystal lens. Her hand motioning for the creature to handle things and rejoin her as it was moving along the vines and sending down some of the gem fruits.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Matsu observed the bunny-cat as it moved along the glowing vines, its large ears twitching while it batted at the hanging clusters of kyber-fruit. The small creature's movements caused the fruit to sway and chime softly against one another. Her scanner kit displayed clear readings: the crystals showed high purity levels, with lattice structures that aligned well with the planet's Force signature. Some appeared suitable for use as focusing lenses in lightsabers, while others had the potential for emitter matrices or other components. She selected several of the smaller crystals and placed them carefully into a reinforced pouch on her belt, noting how their inner light reflected off the surrounding stone walls.

Once finished with the subterranean grove, Matsu stood and continued deeper into the lower levels. The air in the passages felt warmer and carried a mineral scent from geothermal sources. The tunnels gradually opened into a large natural cavern with a partially collapsed ceiling. Sunlight came through the opening in slanted beams, revealing a wide frozen sea beyond. The surface consisted of large, fractured ice sheets floating on darker water below. Just beneath the ice, Matsu could see the outline of a massive creature gliding through the depths. Its body was long and armored, easily exceeding the length of a standard star cruiser.

The creature moved slowly, and its presence registered clearly in the Force as ancient and powerful, though not immediately threatening. It seemed to function as a guardian tied to the planet's deeper Force currents. She stepped onto the ice shelf, testing her footing before proceeding. The bunny-cat followed closely, its paws leaving small prints that froze quickly on the surface. As they moved away from the cavern, the landscape changed. The ice gave way to a broad valley filled with active geothermal features. Tall plumes of vapor rose from fissures in the ground, shooting upward before freezing into tall columns of ice and mineral deposits.

At the base of these geysers were pools of turquoise liquid that bubbled steadily. The water appeared warmer than the surrounding area, and rings of crystalline formations grew around the edges. Matsu stopped at one pool and held her hand just above the surface. The liquid contained various compounds, but she detected signs of life beneath it small bioluminescent organisms and fronds that moved in the currents. The bunny-cat leaned forward, ears perked, as a group of tiny glowing creatures swam closer in response. Further ahead, the ground rose into steep, snow-covered mountains. Built directly into one of the larger peaks was a large citadel structure.

The building combined dark volcanic rock with sections of translucent blue ice. Tall spires extended upward, some reaching high above the surrounding ridges. The surfaces showed carved patterns and faint glowing lines that ran through the material. Large icicles hung from the edges and balconies, some as thick as support beams on a capital ship. Bridges of solid ice connected different sections and outcroppings. The central tower stood out prominently, resembling an old fortress tower fused with the mountain itself. The entire complex appeared partly natural and partly constructed, with signs of long-term exposure to the planet's harsh conditions.

Matsu felt a strong pull from the citadel through the Force. The location held multiple layers of history, including traces from the species that once lived here, the Pius Dea expedition, and older presences that suggested earlier visitors or inhabitants. She could detect residual energy signatures consistent with prolonged meditation sessions and occasional combat activity from centuries past. A faint mechanical hum came from inside the structure, indicating that some systems remained operational. She lifted the bunny-cat onto her shoulder for the climb. Using the Force, she created stable paths through the snow and across the ice bridges that spanned the deeper gaps between ridges.

As they approached the main arched entrance, the wind carried low, steady tones from within, mixed with the ongoing hum of machinery. Matsu's expression stayed focused and calm. She walked under the large ice-carved lintel and entered the citadel's outer halls. The interior walls emitted a soft cyan light from natural crystalline veins running through the stone. The space felt expansive, with high ceilings and passages leading further inward. The bunny-cat's ears turned toward the shadows ahead, listening. Matsu extended her senses, mapping the layout and noting the varying energy signatures. Deeper sections likely contained additional chambers, records, or artifacts from previous occupants.

She moved forward at a measured pace, examining the walls and floors for markings or functional elements. The citadel showed clear signs of age but remained structurally sound in most areas. Occasional drafts carried colder air from side passages, while others felt warmer due to geothermal vents integrated into the design. Matsu paused at several junctions to assess the safest routes and to check for any active security measures or remaining automated systems. The bunny-cat stayed close, occasionally sniffing at exposed crystal formations or pawing lightly at loose debris on the floor. Throughout the exploration, Matsu remained aware of the massive creature still moving beneath the distant ice fields.

Its presence continued to register as a steady, powerful note in the Force, responding subtly to changes in the surrounding energy. The Jedi Master proceeded with caution, balancing her curiosity with the need to document and secure any significant findings. The frozen world held potential resources and knowledge that could benefit the Order, provided the risks were properly assessed and managed. The inner sections of the citadel continued to open up as she advanced, revealing more of the structure's layout and history with each step. Whatever remained hidden here whether valuable crystals, historical records, functional technology, or potential hazards would require careful and thorough investigation.

Matsu continued deeper into the citadel, her steps measured and deliberate on the smooth stone floors. The cyan light from the crystalline veins in the walls provided steady illumination, casting soft shadows that shifted slightly as she moved. The passages varied in width, some narrow enough to require single-file movement while others opened into chambers large enough to hold small gatherings. She noted the construction details as she passed: thick support columns carved directly from the mountain's volcanic rock, reinforced in places with ice that had been fused seamlessly into the structure. Occasional gaps in the ceiling allowed thin streams of cold air to drift downward, mixing with warmer currents rising from vents in the floor.

The bunny-cat remained on her shoulder, its head turning to inspect each new opening, ears flicking at faint sounds echoing from side corridors. At the first major junction, Matsu stopped and extended her senses through the Force. She mapped the immediate layout: three main paths branched ahead. The left passage sloped downward and carried a stronger mineral scent, suggesting connection to the geothermal systems below. The center path continued straight on a level grade, with faint mechanical hums growing slightly louder. The right passage ascended toward what felt like upper levels near the central tower.

She chose the center route first, wanting to investigate the source of the active machinery before venturing into potentially more unstable areas. The bunny-cat shifted its weight, paws gripping her robe lightly as they proceeded. The corridor widened after several hundred meters, opening into a rectangular hall lined with recessed alcoves. Inside each alcove stood weathered pedestals, many still holding fragmented artifacts. Matsu approached the nearest one and examined the remnants: pieces of metallic plating etched with symbols from the ancient species that had inhabited the planet, alongside scattered data crystals that appeared cracked but possibly recoverable.

She activated her scanner kit again, recording the symbols and noting their alignment with patterns seen in the Pius Dea logs she had reviewed earlier. One larger fragment showed signs of energy conduit channels, hinting that these items may have been part of a communication or monitoring system. She collected two intact data crystals and secured them in a separate compartment of her pack, marking their location for future retrieval by a larger team. Further into the hall, the floor transitioned from carved stone to a grated metal surface that rang softly under her boots. Below the grating, she could see conduits and piping running parallel to the corridor, some still showing faint traces of power flow.

The mechanical hum grew more distinct here, steady and rhythmic, like a generator maintaining minimal operations after centuries of dormancy. Matsu knelt briefly to inspect an access panel, using the Force to gently shift a layer of frost and reveal control interfaces. The symbols matched known Outer Rim dialects mixed with older trade languages. She did not attempt to activate anything yet, preferring to observe and document rather than risk triggering defensive protocols. The hall ended at a wide set of double doors constructed from reinforced ice and metal framing. The doors stood slightly ajar, allowing a narrow beam of brighter cyan light to spill into the corridor.

Matsu pushed one door open with a steady hand, the material moving with surprising smoothness despite its age. Beyond lay a circular chamber dominated by a central platform raised two meters above the floor. On the platform rested a large, cylindrical device approximately four meters tall, its surface covered in a network of transparent tubes and glowing nodes. Several nodes still emitted a soft pulse of light in slow, regular intervals. The bunny-cat jumped down from her shoulder and circled the base of the platform, sniffing at the lower sections where condensation had formed. Matsu circled the device slowly, noting its design features.

The outer casing combined crystalline elements similar to those in the subterranean grove with metallic alloys that resisted the extreme cold. Control surfaces on one side displayed inactive readouts, but a small section near the base remained operational, showing basic power levels and temperature readings for different sectors of the citadel. She recognized the configuration from historical records: this appeared to be an ancient environmental stabilization unit, likely responsible for maintaining habitable pockets within the larger structure. A secondary panel nearby held slots for data crystals, some still occupied.

She removed one empty slot's cover and inserted one of the recovered crystals from the alcoves, initiating a slow data transfer. The device accepted the crystal without resistance, and new symbols began to scroll across a small display. While the transfer progressed, Matsu moved to the chamber's outer walls and examined a series of narrow viewports. Through the thick, ice-layered transparisteel, she could see the exterior landscape: the geyser valley stretched out below, with several plumes still erupting at regular intervals, their frozen columns catching the available sunlight. In the far distance, the frozen sea remained visible, its surface mostly still except for subtle shifts where the leviathan's passage created faint pressure ridges in the ice.

The creature's presence registered as a low, steady vibration in the Force, neither approaching nor retreating, simply existing as part of the planetary ecosystem. The data transfer completed with a soft chime. Matsu retrieved the crystal and stored it with the others. She noted the stabilization unit's power reserves appeared sufficient to continue operating for several more decades at current levels. This finding suggested the citadel could serve as a viable forward base if properly secured and supplied. She recalled the beacon her ship had deployed earlier and considered how this location might integrate with future Jedi operations in the region, especially given the unusual kyber deposits and the planet's remote position near the edges of known space.

Satisfied with the initial assessment of the central chamber, Matsu signaled for the bunny-cat to return to her shoulder. The creature bounded up and settled again, its fur still carrying a faint warmth from the lower levels. She turned back toward the main corridor, planning to explore the descending path next to investigate the geothermal connections and any additional lower chambers. The citadel held more layers than she had anticipated, with functional technology, historical artifacts, and natural integrations that warranted a full survey team. For now, she continued methodically, documenting each section and remaining alert for any changes in the Force that might indicate hidden dangers or additional discoveries. The frozen world's secrets were gradually revealing themselves, one chamber and one reading at a time.

The ship didn’t land so much as decide it was done falling. Repulsors sighed against stone as the ramp lowered, steam curling off metal like the world itself wasn’t sure whether to welcome them or test them.

Connel didn’t move right away.

He stood there for a second longer than necessary, watching the horizon, feeling it. Not the chaos.
Not the storm. Just… the weight of it. Behind him, boots hit the deck.

“Alright,” Lira said, brushing past him like she owned both the ship and the mountain it sat on. “You can do the brooding hero thing later. I didn’t fly all this way just to watch you stare dramatically into the distance.”

There was a pause. Then, quieter, but sharper: “…you feel it too, don’t you?”

Connel exhaled through his nose. Yeah.

That was all he gave her. It was all she needed.

Buster bounded past them both like the galaxy wasn’t hanging by threads, paws kicking up frost, tail wagging with reckless optimism. He skidded, recovered, and immediately decided this was the greatest place in existence.

Lira watched him go, then glanced back at Connel. “Good,” she said. “At least one of you is enjoying this.”

She stepped closer, close enough that the moment shifted… just a little. Not soft. Not fragile. But real. Her hand caught his wrist briefly, firm. “Listen to me,” she said. No drama. No theatrics. Just conviction. “You don’t get to go full martyr on me out here.” She let the words hang for a second.

“If you die,” she added, eyes narrowing just enough to make the threat feel completely sincere,
“I’m dragging you back just so I can kill you myself.”

There it was.

Not a joke. Not entirely. Connel huffed a quiet laugh. Not much. Just enough. Copy that.

She let go. “Good.”

Then, like flipping a switch: “Also,” she added, already turning toward the ramp, “I’m meeting this ‘Matsu’ person you keep not explaining properly.”

He blinked. If he had just taken a drink of something he would have spat it out. …that’s probably fair.

Buster barked once in the distance like he had discovered snow for the first time in galactic history. Lira pointed after him. “You better come back, he’ll miss you like crazy.”

Connel finally stepped forward. Yeah, don’t want him missing me too much. Before he knows it, I’ll be back and we’ll go on a trip. Not loud, or dramatic.

Just… true.

And then he moved.

She looked up as it was felt in the force. "Hmm Connel."

She had gotten used to the one, the only, the walking emotional pressure cooker himself: Connel Aric Vanagor, son of the late great Caltin Vanagor (last Warden of Tython and professional galaxy-saver) and the redeemed Sith Lady Chrysothemis (because nothing says 'healthy family dynamic' like one parent being a literal former Dark Side enthusiast), Keeper of the Shadow Enclave, Guardian of the Temple of Kashyyyk (yes, the one with all the trees and very judgmental Wookiees), First Among These Warrior Jedi (or at least the tallest one who broods in the corner), Spiritual Anchor, Combat Specialist, and Quietly Terrifying Pillar of Omega Squad (most likely to show up, say three words total, and still somehow become the team's emotional support murder machine), Husband of the incomparable Lira Voss [Vanagor] (who somehow married the galaxy's most emotionally constipated laser-wielding Jedi and deserves a medal for it), The Man Reforged by Pain, The Silent Sentinel, Judgment in the Dark, Quiet in the Storm, Sentinel of Reckoning, Codename Ariel (because nothing screams 'stealthy shadow operative' like naming yourself after a Disney mermaid who just really wants legs), Jedi Knight, Jedi Shadow, Warden of the Temple Guard, Half-Sorrusian/Half-Human Walking Cybernetic Cautionary Tale, Proud Owner of More Implants Than Most Droids (Repli limbs, Bonemer, Hawkeye vision, Zenkai Package Mk-X basically a walking medical experiment who still refuses to see a therapist), Master of Shieldsmanship (which is just fancy talk for 'I will outlast you, redirect your nonsense, and then make you regret every life choice that led to this moment'), Bearer of the Dual Shortsaber Duo 'Night and Day' (indigo and golden, because even his weapons have better fashion sense than most Jedi), Wielder of Percipience (the golden lightsaber with the fancy permafrost edge because regular plasma wasn't dramatic enough), Thrower of Kyber-Tipped Lightknives (because sometimes you just need to yeet justice at people from across the room), Owner of the Gallinorese Mountain Aak Dog named Buster (certified emotional support murder puppy and the only creature alive who can make this man emote without it being a war crime), Pilot of the Enterprise Station Ship, the Jedi Defender Light Corvette, a custom X-wing, and the aggressively named 'Carcharodon' Landspeeder (because even his vehicles sound like they bite), Most Likely To stare silently at you until you confess your sins, channel repressed rage into perfect tactical precision, take a hit meant for literally anyone else and then act like it's Tuesday, forget where the mask ends and the man begins, impose consequence so hard that tyranny files for emotional damages, marry a wonderful woman and still somehow remain emotionally constipated, dive headfirst into danger like the galaxy personally owes him one more second chance, and say five words in an entire battle and still be voted 'Most Mythic Presence' by his squad, the guy who fights because honor, duty, and loyalty aren't just ideals they're oxygen, the guy who doesn't hurl starships but will absolutely make you feel every single one of your poor decisions through sheer brooding willpower, the towering 6'5" cybernetic tower of 'I have seen some shit and I'm not done yet,' your friendly neighborhood emotionally constipated laser samurai, part-time shadow operative, full-time reluctant dad of a squad that probably keeps adopting more chaos goblins, and the only man alive who can make a mask look like a job requirement instead of a cry for help in short, may the Force be with you, because Connel definitely is, and he's already calculating the most efficient way to ruin your entire day if you deserve it.

That was a lot of titles she made for him but it was fun in a way to announce it at a meeting and see how some of the others reacted. She mentally had checked out but announcing Connels titles to everything that could be done... more so as it had diostracted her when she floated back up to the surface and the bunny cat came to her shoulder again. A kyber fruit there in its mouth when the heckles on its body rose and it was looking. She scented it over the kyber surface when she got closer. "Oh." The bunny cat jumped off going towards buster with a more curious look on its face when she was coming behind it while looking at the ones who had arrived. She had only heard of Lira somewhat so this was going to be nice as she hovered there with her hands in front of herself. "Connel it is nice to see you out here."

Connel did not react. Not to the greeting. Not to the look she had given when looking up… as if an inventory list of his entire existence that had just casually been recited like a grocery order from the Force itself. He stood there in his robes settling against the cold air, presence steady… controlled… contained.

He wasn’t wearing his “Ariel”, he was just acting like it as always. Silent. Measured. The kind of stillness that made people either feel safe…or start rethinking every decision they’d made in the last twenty years.

A heartbeat passed. Then another. When suddenly behind him… ”Wow.” Lira stepped down the ramp like she’d just witnessed the galaxy’s most overqualified résumé. She didn’t hear anything, but she was very intuitive. She glanced at Matsu, then at Connel… then back again. “…am I missing something?”

Connel’s eyes closed for half a second. Of course she did this now. Lira folded her arms, tilting her head as if genuinely evaluating everything. ”Terrible at introductions,” she added. “Uses silence like it’s a personality trait.”

A pause. Then, casually with a smirk she quipped: “...Also refuses to use more than three words unless legally required. I promise, I’m making you a resume with all of this on it.” She slipped an arm around his neck and shoulder.

Buster, who had been busy committing crimes against snow, suddenly decided this was the moment. He charged. Full speed and with zero hesitation. Aak-dog enthusiasm with the tactical awareness of a thrown brick.

Connel turned just in time to brace WHUMP.

Two massive paws planted squarely on his chest. The “Silent Sentinel” staggered half a step back. The “Judgment in the Dark” got licked across the face. The “Towering 6’5” Cybernetic Cautionary Tale” was now being aggressively loved. Lira pointed. “There it is,” she said, completely satisfied grin to prove it. “That’s the real one.”

Buster huffed happily, tail wagging like he’d just solved the galaxy. Connel exhaled through his nose, one hand coming up to steady the dog. …good to see you too.

His tone was low and calm, and somehow that counted as a full speech. Lira just smirked and gave him a squeeze. “Oh, look at that. Five words. We’re making progress.” She stepped forward then, closing the distance between herself and Matsu with the kind of confidence that didn’t ask permission.

Not subordinate. Not deferential. Just… present.

“Lira Voss,” she said, offering nothing more than her name and a look that said the rest wasn’t necessary. Then, with a slight tilt of her head toward Connel: “I keep him functional.”

A pause went by.

“…mostly.”

Behind her, Connel gently lowered Buster back to the ground, the mask of Ariel settling back into place like it had never slipped but Matsu, of all people, would’ve felt it. That brief fracture. That human moment. He stepped forward at last. Still. Grounded. Eyes on Matsu.

Master Ike. After a short pause. With respect, but not distance; he showed recognition, not ceremony. It’s good to see you.

She looked at him for a moment and then he was on the ground as she looked up at Lira... then down at him and then at Buster with a nod. "It is wonderful you are all here." She turned towards Lira again. "And good, I'll give you some of the specs for his implants, if he acts up well hard for him to argue if you control the legs." She said it as a joke with a small look on her face before she was moving and looked at the planet. "Welcome to Shimmersand." She said it and looked at the world. "Something that got closer with the planeshift but it is of the lightside." She said it and held a haand up as she touched the snow. "Even the snow is infused with kyberrite."

Getting up slowly. He smirked as Buster was still hovering around him in between keeping an eye on the curious bunny-cat not out of concern or fear but to play!

Lira was the one who responded to her first when Matsu extolled how nice it was for everyone to be there. Someone had to get him to be social.” With the big man up by her side, she just looked at him with a smirk.

You know, I do know how to converse… he was not letting her get away with her joke, he had his own.

“Threatening Sith doesn’t count.” Patting him on the shoulder with a grin, she just looked back to the Grandmaster. ”So, do you live here? Wait, ‘Kyberrite’? What’s that?”

A pause went by as she was looking at Connel as if asking him.

I… really don’t know. Was it Kyber crystals or something else? Man, he really needed to get out there. So, why did the Force pull me here? This another epic adventure that seems like a literary strain on the eyes to get some big dufus to sigh when he reads it?

”Whoahoahoah! That’s the most I’ve heard you say this month!”

She gave him a look. Only adjusting as she floated to be eye level. "Maybe but kyberrite is what makes kyber crystals for jedi lightsabers and caves of it are good but locations like this where it grows naturally and might be the entire planet means its natural attunement to the lightside will also be important." She said it. "This iss also a place of more mystery, I found an ardana remnant as well as a pius dea cathedral ship which means." She paused as the bunny cat was looking at buster and made a face but had the kyber fruit it dropped for him. "That this could become a new source of kyber or given its remote location be a secured world the jedi can use for training. We are far from the sith and even beyond some of the largest things in the unknown regions."

As Buster was suddenly chowing down after one sniff of the Kyberfruit, Connel looked concerned for a moment. Not all fruits are healthy for Aak-Dogs. He seemed to be okay, so Vanagor just let it go. Then he looked back to Matsu, who really didn’t answer his question. So, are we exploring? You trying to suggest honeymoon locations?

“I LIKE THIS!” He was joking, and she knew it, but Lira could throw it back at him. ”This is a great idea!”

Connel slammed his eyes upon her reaction, but this was their dynamic. She knew, He knew.

It’s “Lightside” so should be safe enough for them to stay, right?

”Look at you, all noble and gentlemanly.”

"I mean a honeymoon location might be fun here. Definitely away from the other people in the galaxy and you can be alone. There is a five kilometer long beast swimming under the ice to the north and I don't know if it eats meat or crystal but yes you should be safe." She said it with a shrug though as the bunny-cat was looking at Buster with a nod.. they had shared food... they were likely friends now... This was easier with animals. She looked at Lira. "Though exploring does mean plenty of chances to show off your skills. Haas he told you about the shape charrge he made when we wandered around in the underworld he added to it for like seven hourrs and that thing was huge and ready to blow up a dimension of the force."

As Buster was a little confused by the Bunnycat’s sudden change, that brought out his uber-playful side and thus zoomies, Connel smirked. Then was mortified as she mentioned his actions in that portal. You make it sound like I was making it bigger, I was just tightening it.

“Size matters…” She chuckled hard and patted him on the back before crouching down and waving over Buster for a second. ”So, does this mean we can stay?”

It’s up to Master Ike, but I hope so. Connel was no good with casual conversation(he still gets embarrassed easily) but he was capable of saying the right thing every now and then.

"I see no issues and problems, Connel might need someone around able to make a sixth or seventh word in the sentence." She said it with a small look at him though while in humor. "Plus there is a benefit, if he was going to date or be with anyone. I doubt he would get someone incapable." She said it while turning in the air for a moment as she spoke looking down at Buster. "As for you, there is a big bone in it for you." She gave a nod of her head to that for him while the bunny-cat was looking at her. "Yes you can have somethings as well. Hanae would be upset if I didn't feed you twelve times a day." She looked at it as it seemed to be getting more and more happy. Hanae loved her pet but she fed that thing all the time and now it knew it could have treats.

When Matsu made a “funny”, Connel showed he was capable as well. I talk good for big boy..

“You’re learning…” Lira chuckled hard and pointed. Then watched as Matsu pointed to the pup.

He doesn’t recognize “bone”... you might as well say “treat” … and I can’t believe I just said that. Slamming his eyes shut as Buster perked up looking around and turning into overdrive. Lira was just giggling at the Aak-Dog zooming around and then turned his face for a quick kiss.

Go do your “Voodoo”, I’ll watch after him here.

She laughed with that and gave Connel a small nod. "Well we'll just have to make sure such a treat is extra large and juicy." She said it while moving ut letting him come with her. "One arm getting the bunny-cat. "Hanae loves him, her first attempt at keeping a pet and she chose one of the biot models we grew for command and system control." She said it more casually and their biot vessels were some of the more developed technologies as the biot went to her shoulder. "Though this world has proven interesting so far. the Ardana points to pre-celestial colonization, the pius dea cathedral shows that it was a stopping point for when their hyperdrives were sabotaged to end the crusades."

She tapped her chin though while she was moving. "Though the leviathan does point to this having some sort of greater eco system. Unless it is like an exogorth and able to live for long periods with minimal to no food there has to be some creatures here it is eating. Maybe closer to hoth with geothermal cave systems deep beneath the ice." She was going for an overrload of information but Connel had proven insightful tactically and in some other things. If there was a threat or something possibly there he would need to know. "The ardana though is one of the bigger things, those were made to defend planets and something the size of a mountain to defend a world does point to potentially massive predators."

“Is this that thing you were talking about?” Lira nudged Connel in the ribs as Matsu was pondering about the history of the world they were on. Ssh.

He knew Matsu could hear them both easily, with or without the Force. Connel glanced at Lira with a warning look, hoping she would stop drawing attention. Lira fell silent, a faint smirk creeping up her cheeks. You’re going to have lots of fun. Wait, predators?

If you want to go, you can. No shame either way. He would protect her, but she could also take care of herself.

She looked at him while moving. "There is more fun with more people so I am all for it. Just imagine what we might find while exploring. Remnants of something ancient or maybe something to be excited over... or a clay pot. Clay pots are a thing, not as exciting as lost civilization, secret extragalactic jedi order of lightside force users or knowledge of what happened to a pre-celestial civilization... but it can hold water." She said it while looking at them while she went into the air. "Plus, gives me a chance to probe her for all of the hidden knowledge of Connel that he doesn't like to talk about. With that knowledge it will make when he asks me to develop him new stuff so much easier."

She turned her head for a moment with a raised eyebrow. "Oh he talks about me? Weird." She said it with a smile though while she was moving. Letting the area around them gleam when she went up into the air though to sit on a small outcropping or crystal. Her eyes looking towards the distance and not listening to the conversation for the moment while a finger came out tracing different snowflakes that came down. The molecules hardening and suspended in the air while she made doodles to let Connel and Lira decide their goal. She welcomed them all being here and coming along.. more chances to get to talk and discuss important things or they can snicker with Connel.

“I’m coming.” Connel only slightly smirked as her mouth dropped and she punched him in the arm. ”What about you, Buster? Wanna go for a walk?”

Buster of course knew that buzzword and was hopping around like he had won the doggo lotto. Lira was of course watching Ike hover and fly, Connel had gotten used to it at this point.

Well there we go.. He was not used to this sort of thing, but he found the experience intriguing. The way Lira observed Ike's movements with curiosity and Buster's uncontainable excitement reminded him of how unique their group dynamic was. Despite the unfamiliarity, he felt a sense of belonging and comfort in their shared moments.

She clapped for a moment with a nod of her head. "Good." THe grin remained, exploration was fun enough, calming and the pursuit of knowledge a noble effort... also it usually allowed her to learn new ways to aid the jedi who sought the help. She took a moment and looked at Lira while coming down but offered a small grin. "So while we go, tell me about yourself Lira?" She was curious while moving but moved in a glide over the icy surface with guidance that showed force awareness. She could feel where to glide through the air and avoid the bigger things while others she passed over. Her interest was there. "His dad would be proud... or brooding... likely brooding and they would communicate in grunts."
