POST ULTIMATUM AFTERMATH...

div-goldiguess.png
War has become an inevitability. Following a ferocious invasion of the Twi’lek homeland, Ryloth lays in ruins for all across the galaxy to witness, with refugees flocking towards neighboring planets in the chaos. As the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order scramble to keep their hand on the pulse of the developing crisis, their people hold their breath in anticipation for the assured declaration of hostility…

Order of Refuge, Sellia II | NJO/Volunteers

MOSHED-2023-5-22-10-42-14.jpg

Twi’lek refugees flee to the Expansion Region. As waves of civilians from Ryloth swarm Galactic Alliance space, aboard relief transports and civilian uglies alike, the major players of the alliance resolve to mitigate the effects of the booming refugee crisis before it has major ramifications. Ord Providence has volunteered space on one of their two moons, Sellia II, for the construction of temporary housing for displaced families. With the development period of these facilities only just beginning, the New Jedi Order has opened up the Jedi Praxeum on the moon for the service of civilians caught in the aftermath of the conflict.

Objective 2: Order of Reaction, Ryloth | SIA
MOSHED-2022-8-29-22-16-59.jpg

SIA scouts have been deployed into the ruined capital of Lessu to assess the aftermath and collect any valuable information on the new Mandalorian threat. Warriors of the Enclave still remain on Ryloth. Agents are expected to breach whatever temporary defenses they’ve established to gain what intel they can in the hopes of finding something that may bring a swift end to the inevitable war. While not a priority, higher ups have put pressure on their agents to capture any remaining Mandalorian they can manage for interrogation.

Objective 3: Order of Retribution, Coruscant | Senate
MOSHED-2023-10-2-16-29-45.jpg

The assault on Ryloth is now on full display, and the response of the Galactic Alliance to their assault now has them in the crosshairs of the impending crusade of the Enclave. The senatorial delegates of the alliance now gather to lay out a clear course of action for how they are to proceed, with the ultimate decision looming over their heads… Declaration of War.

The Sellian Jedi Praxeum was alive with chaos. Crying children, panicking elders, and higher up Jedi officials running around with the hope of maintaining an air of reassurance. The Praxeum wasn't usually this full, and it was easy to tell that until the new refugee housing was constructed, general crowding and pandemonium.

And Loomi was also there. Padawans were called in to assist, and the Godoan had offered herself up to help with making sure that rations got given out to the now starving refugees. It was very stressful, especially with how susceptible Loomi was to the emotions of others. Her latent empathic abilities threatened to overwhelm her senses, but at the very least she had company. Her friend Braze was there, which was nice. It was at least one connection to keep her grounded.

"Oh, Golly," Loomi muttered. "W-we're out of soup again."

They were going through food quick. Little ones especially needed the energy if they were going to fight off illness and fatigue, and adults were anxious to feed their kids. Loomi would turn to Braze with an anxious look on her face. She hadn't been at the battle, so she really didn't know what had happened. The displacement was bad enough at the very least.

"A-are you okay?" she asked Braze. "Cause I think I'm a little overwhelmed."

It was a lot.

The Skakoan glanced at the holographic map projecting on his wrist as the Trade Federation Delegation made their way towards the senate chambers; the market was in a haze as various companies stocks went up and down depending on their preparations for a renewed war after such a long period of peace following the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War. Senator Laborr had been looking forward to this senate session ever since news broke about the conflict over Ryloth with the Mandalorian Enclave even trying to secure himself some extra support from other senators by hosting a gathering within his private apartment. Some points were in agreement but others would have to be discussed in a formal session such as this.

The Delegation arrived swiftly into the quickly filled senate chamber, talking amongst themselves for the time being until the session formally began.
"Senator Laborr, we must be certain that the war is going to happen. The Trade Federation will make a fortune on production alone to the alliance." one of the senior aides said next to him. "We must also be cautious in our manner of speaking today. We can't appear to be too excited about the possibility of war coming." another senior aide explained. The Skakoan wanted nothing more than to profit off of a declaration of war by promising to finance the endeavor but also had to make certain that they were not read like an open book regarding their intentions. Everything had to go smoothly in order to insure that the megacorporation's got the most benefit out of it.

Pressing a button on his pod to move forward once the session formally started.

"AWWWEEEERERRR00000....Esteemed & Honorable Delegates of the Senate, a tragedy has occurred as we are all aware over the Neutral System of Ryloth. The dishonorable and cowardly Mandalorian enclave have used our complacency during the peace period after the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War to build a formidable army with which to launch another galactic crusade." The Skakoan started to explain after adjusting his suits controls, making it seem like the Alliance was responsible for this invasion by not having a strong military force mobilized to handle the mandalorians swiftly.

"The solution should be clear, a full mobilization of the defense forces and the lifting of restrictions on all armament procurements and production which are needed for the defense of the realm." The Trade Federation Senator continued.

Ryana didn't have a chance to find someone to watch pip so the little racyon followed her. She was giving out rations surprised pip was actually helping for once instead of being a pain. She regretted not being in the battle of ryloth but she knew she wouldn't have been much help but she heard ko was there and got badly hurt. Making her guilt much worse as he was one of her better friends still she handed out food rations as pip played with kids boosting their moral.

And giving them a few minutes of peace and to momentarily forget their woes and have fun she saw the momentary smiles on their parents faces. Seeing their kids not crying as much from losing their homes and planet she hates seeing her people forced to leave ryloth even though she had no real memories of the place. The galactic alliance had her full backing against the mandalorian enclave first kashyyk now ryloth. Did they have no shame she felt a tug on her Jedi robes as she looked down and saw a child lethan twi'lek same as her "your gonna beat the bad people right" the young lethan ask ryana as pip walked up. "I'm gonna try" she said as pip began playing with the young twi'lek girl.

Braze had been moving through the chaotic environment like a ghost, oddly disengaged from the emotional turmoil around him. Whether it was the shock from the shipwreck or the enormity of the crisis at hand, he felt uncharacteristically numb. Like he was just going through the motions, detached from the weight of the situation.

However, as Loomi's emotional stress washed over him, it served as a splash of cold water, snapping him back to the reality around him. His eyes, usually vibrant with empathy and curiosity, met Loomi's and he felt the gravity of the situation anew.

"Hmnn? Oh... Yeah... I suppose so," he answered softly, as he finally allowed himself to really look around. The sea of desperate faces, the harried Jedi officials, and most of all, the innocent children suffering from this calamity.

"Hey, Loomi,"
he began softly, stepping forward to stand directly in front of her. His eyes found her single good one, as if attempting to tether her back to a sense of stability. He gently cupped her cheeks in his hands, a warm and grounding touch amid the chaos.

"Let me tell you something my dad told me when I was little," he started, his voice carrying a note of nostalgia as well as a deep-rooted wisdom beyond his years. He inhaled deeply, letting his lungs fill with air as if drawing strength from the very atmosphere around them, and exhaled slowly. As he did, he consciously released any residual tension, fear, and worry he'd been harboring.

"This... too shall pass," he whispered, locking eyes with Loomi as if sharing a sacred secret. Presently he wasn't just reminding her; he was also reminding himself. Amid the impermanence of life's trials and tribulations, they had each other. And in that connection, they could find the strength to face whatever came next. Braze was here for her.

Sycorax leaned against the edge of her pod, surveying the Assembly. Conflict with the Mandalorians was inevitable, on that everyone could agree. But in order to avoid looking like warmongers, they all had to act like they were signing the Declaration of War with great reluctance. She was half dreading, half looking forward to all the heartfelt speeches about peace and justice and prosperity, lamenting the invasion of Ryloth and the plight of the refugees - a plight so far removed from the vast majority of these privileged politicians so as to practically be in another universe. At least she could get some twisted enjoyment out of the absurdity of it all.

Senator Laborr was the first to speak, mercifully brief for the sake of her ears. She had never gotten used to the Skakoan's shrieking translator. He paid a little lip service to the tragedy of it all, before hurrying them along toward the declaration, no doubt trying not to appear too gleeful at all the profits he would soon be making from the war.

Straightening, Sycorax's response was short and succinct: "Necropolis is in favor of declaring war on the Mandalorians."

It was a joke that Laborr had found his way back to a seat after the embarrassment that was the Trade Federation's attempts to overstep the boundaries of the senate. After all that headache, Yumia very much wanted to tear into the man, but there were far bigger fish to fry. The Galactic Alliance needed the illusion of unity in their senate, and she would give the people what it was that they needed. Even if it ate at her stomach.

"Ord Providence is also in favor of declaring war," she stated bluntly, agreeing with the senator of Dahrtag, "What has happened to the neutral Twi'lek homeworld is unacceptable, and it is clear as day to us all that the Enclave has their sights on our borders. The people of Ord Providence do not see fit to sit by while a bloody swathe is drawn across the galaxy so soon after the Maw."

Of course, she could still upstage rivals. The Trade Federation wanted to profiteer, ramp up the production of arms and bolster the war effort for their own business. Now was the time to put the prosperity of Ord Providence on display, and to show that individual worlds could stand on their own without corporations.

"We have already arranged for a portion of our harvested Clouzon-36 to be redirected to our Navy," Yumia added, "And in the wake of the ensuing refugee crisis Ord Providence will continue to offer space on our underpopulated moons for temporary housing infrastructure for those misplaced. For some worlds, this is not sustainable, but I would hope to encourage our more prosperous delegates to offer the same. It is more important than ever to keep our neighbors afloat, lest we repeat what the Maw left in it's wake."

What it upstaging? Sure, but it was that very act of bluster that encouraged movement in the senate. Wealthy worlds would want to put a good image out for the public, and the only way to force their hand was to upstage them. That was how she'd keep the cogs of the galaxy turning.

"Big ol' pot of soup coming up!" The Nautolan announced, showing up from the supply room with a pan that was nearly bigger than herself.

Ilo tried to think that the pot would last long enough to give the cooks a breather, but a long line of refugees still waiting for a hot meal meant that it would be another all-nighter for everyone. Regardless, with a tired smile on her face, the Padawan put down the soup in the distribution counter, and started serving it alongside the other volunteers.

"You two are alright?" She asked Loomi Loomi and Braze Braze . She could feel their tiredness with her tendrils, and it wasn't only a physical one, but also a psychological distress. Obviously, the situation was highly demanding on both sides of the coin. "You can go take a breather if you want. I can cover you up."

Actually, Aduni didn't know if she really could. All that inevitable negativity was draining her, and the only weapon she had was an unconditional silly smile, as nothing ever happened. The refugees had enough and she was determined to deal with it.

"Here you are, sir. Here you are, darling. Have a wonderful meal!" Ilo said to a father and his daughter, keeping the smile on.

Erick Pryde

P A I N K I L L E R

Senator Erick Pryde sat in his office within the heart of the Senate building, his gaze fixed on the Holonet screen displaying headlines about his recent upset victory. "Erick Pryde Shatters Expectations in Alsakan Election," read the prominent headline. The media had certainly underestimated his campaign, dismissing the true sentiment of the Alsakan populace.

"Seems the media failed to grasp the fervor of the people's will," Erick remarked to his aide as he prepared to make his way to the Senate chamber. "I suppose that's what happens when you're hopelessly out of touch."

Erick Pryde was keenly aware of the gravity of the situation as he entered the Senate pod, his thoughts squarely focused on the brewing conflict. He had fought in the Second Great Hyperspace War, witnessing the horrors of war firsthand. Now, facing the assault on Ryloth and the looming menace of the Mandalorian Enclave, he believed a resolute and unyielding response was imperative.

The Skakoan Senator had presented his case, emphasizing the necessity of a potent defense and the economic opportunities that war against the Mandalorians could bring. Sycorax from Necropolis had voiced her support for war, her pragmatic perspective aligning with his own. Yumia of Ord Providence had outlined a practical plan, underlining the importance of unity and aid to the displaced.

Erick nodded, aligning with the call for war. He firmly believed that the Mandalorians posed a severe threat to the Galactic Alliance and that a hardline stance was crucial to protect their citizens and maintain galactic peace. He also expressed skepticism regarding the current refugee resettlement programs, doubting their effectiveness and advocating for a more stringent approach to safeguard the Alliance's interests.

As he prepared to address the Senate chamber, his voice echoed with conviction: "The assault on Ryloth is an atrocious act that demands a firm response. Our duty as Senators is to protect our citizens and preserve our way of life. I stand in strong favor of declaring war against the Mandalorians, for it is unity and unwavering resolve that define our Galactic Alliance. Let us act decisively and protect our sovereignty."

Loomi would flush up whenever Braze laid his hands on her cheeks, but she'd listen very intently to what he had to say. Ultimately it didn't really matter what he said, just that he was here and giving her emotional support. He'd feel her face press ever so slightly into one of his palms as a sigh escaped from her chest.

"Okay..." she'd relent. "Thank you..."

She'd step back and recompose herself, which was good. A new friend would come along, one she had met back on Bogano. Ilo was a kindly girl with a chipper attitude, which Loomi very much appreciated. She was a good presence as well.

"You can go take a breather if you want. I can cover you up."

"N-no, we're okay," Loomi insisted, returning a smile. "I just... needed a minute. Yeah."

They needed to stick together to get through this. That meant not leaving people to pick up the slack of others on their own. Ilo surely couldn't run around handing out meals on her own, and neither could she.

That was what would keep them grounded in the war. It had to.

The Senate

Rens Ahim sat with representative Delian Gatal and two assistants. He wore a sobered expression. The hope for peace born from the Maw's defeat was now extinguished as a candle by the wind of renewed war. He had a hard time sleeping last night especially after reviewing the footage coming out of Ryloth. The Enclave had proven themselves no different than the Sith despite their hatred for them.

Of course they don't care about the opinions of outsiders but only when to spread fear. They're a bunch of murdering self righteous hypocrites.

He didn't air those words out loud but instead listened to the mounting calls for war. Finally Rens sighed, feeling exhausted already. Nonetheless he got himself up and spoke through his pod's intercom.

"Bestine votes in favor of a declaration for war and recommends full mobilization. Let us remember though our efforts is not aimed toward all Mandalorians in the galaxy but only the Mandalorian Enclave and their collaborators. Those responsible for the wave of hideous aggression that started on Rishi and now Ryloth’s people suffered as well.”

Braze felt a spark of positivity when Ilo Aduni stepped in, taking on tasks with an enthusiasm that seemed to light up the chaotic surroundings. "Thanks for keeping things going," he told her, his voice warm with genuine appreciation.

Turning his attention back to the mounting stack of dishes, Braze positioned himself for the seemingly never-ending chore of cleaning and preparing them for their next use. The sheer volume might have appeared overwhelming, but Braze found a sort of meditative calm in the repetitive action. "I hope Ko Vuto Ko Vuto is okay. He didn't feel okay earlier..." he murmured, his thoughts trailing off as hazy memories of the crash flickered through his mind like elusive shadows.

Despite the rising tide of anguish and uncertainty swirling around him, Braze remained an island of calm. "I don't really understand much of all this, to be honest," he admitted softly to Loomi, as they worked side by side. "But it often boils down to a few simple things, doesn't it? Enlightened self-interest usually seems to be at the forefront."

As he spoke, he kept his voice low, his words meant only for Loomi and the small circle of their immediate companions. But then he paused, seemingly contemplating whether to share something more. After a moment's thought, he looked up, catching the eyes of the young girls working alongside them, perhaps sensing their need for some form of comfort or encouragement.

"Hey..."
Braze began, raising his voice just a little but maintaining its soothing timbre. "I know things are really tough right now, and it's hard to see past all this chaos. But remember, we're not just providing meals or cleaning dishes. We're providing hope. Every dish we clean, every meal we serve, it's a little beacon of light in someone's life right now."

He returned to his task but continued speaking, "If we can keep even a sliver of hope alive in these hard times, then we've done something truly meaningful. So let's keep going, okay?"

As Braze resumed his work, he hoped his words could act as small pillars of strength, not just for the girls but for himself as well, reinforcing the idea that even in the darkest of times, they could be the bearers of light.

While the Padawans ladled out soup for the refugees, Kass handed out kits full of toiletries and other hygiene products a few tables down. The number of pseudopods on her body multiplied with the increase of refugees, the tentacles looking like even more of a writhing mass than usual. But at least she could work faster than her mostly two-armed peers.

Surprisingly, the children weren't all that afraid of her. It was the adults who stared, pulled their kids away and avoided her wherever possible. But since her line was moving the fastest, most overcame their revulsion and accepted her help.

A girl in her early teens stood just outside the lines, her eyes darting. Kass noticed her a few minutes ago, but hadn't made an attempt to reach out yet. Discomfort and embarrassment rolled off the young Twi'lek in waves. Her shoulders were hiked up and her face was a pale shade of green. Kass reached the end of her line (for now) and turned her eyes upon the girl. Everyone else was busy, crowded with refugees, carrying items or pushing carts, talking to someone...

"Hey, you there," Kass called out. "Do you need something?"

Very reluctantly, the girl approached her table. "Um," she mumbled. "Do you have any pads?..."

Now, Kass may have been an alien with very different biology, but she had grown up in Jedi dorms with humanoid females. She had some understanding of the significance of the situation, and that it wasn't something humans talked about in casual conversation. Why a normal bodily function was treated with such secrecy, she didn't really know, but hey—Kass was all about respecting the customs and taboos of other species. "Is this your first time?" she asked in a whisper.

The girl nodded once.

"Is your mother or sister or some other woman you know here with you?"

The girl shook her head no.

Kass felt pity for her. This poor child probably needed more than just a pad, and the Pylantian wasn't really equipped to advise her. "Do you know where the medical tent is?" she asked, grabbing a piece of flimsiplast and a pen and scribbling a quick note. "There's a Dr. Amani Serys Amani Serys -Organa there. Ask for her, and give her this note. She'll help you." She handed the flimsiplast over. Meanwhile, two more of Kass' pseudopods covertly appeared from underneath the table, a tampon and a pad clutched in each like she was doing an illegal drug exchange. "Here's the... stuff."

The girl's eyes widened in surprise before she quickly snatched up the items, mumbling a thanks as she hurried away. Kass breathed a sigh. I think I handled that pretty well, she thought. After patting herself on the back a bit, she returned to her work, handing out supplies.

Tapping on her helmet to inform Mirage, their overwatch, that they were moving, Lareina led the 4 other SPECTERs towards their objective. The Enclave had apparently left some of their mandalorians on the planet - whether or not they were left behind to rot or they served some strategic purpose was yet to be known, and quite frankly the Chief couldn't care less, she only cared to make sure that one of them would be leaving the planet aboard the Shroud.

The operators were silent as they quickly moved through the dark alleyway, their motions flowing as smoothly as a calm stream as they bounded from cover to cover - knowing the Mandos could ambush them from almost any angle and expecting a kill zone every time they came up to a clearer area. Motioning Umbra to take point, Lareina fell back into formation as she checked her chronometer - we're right on time. Unholstering her sidearm, she opened up the holo-map and - one last time - made sure that everything and everyone was in place, before the storm began.

"Shroud, this is Wraith. Nightfall gives its nod."

It wasn't long before dozens of fresh volunteers wearing blue Alliance military fatigues arrived. Many of them each carried rations crates and in one case a Klantooian lieutenant held one box with each arm. They delivered the welcomed supplies to the Jedi and started to help tje hand out newly arrived food. Among them was the Mandalorian, Minerva Fhirdiad.

Yet unlike most occasions she was wearing military fatigues with army captain insignia and not her armor. While she will never give up being who she is, tonight though Minerva just wanted to help without provoking a negative reaction.

They all had suffered needlessly because of my former bethern. I will not add to the misery.

Directing her comrades from one direction to the another Minerva then got on her comlink.

"Patch are you set up?"

"We're on it captain, me and the other medics got our equipment and supplies and are ready to go."

Nodding the captain remarked.

"Good. I know you prefer to be in charge when it comes to the medical work but play nice with the Jedi and let them lead. We're in their house after all."

Grumbling enused on the other end of the line.

"Alright, alright I get it. We already talked about that. You don't need to remind me a third time now let me do my work!"

A smirk escaped the warrior. Patch wasn't the most polite Chargian to meet but he is an experienced medical professional and he and his team will be a great assistance to the Jedi healers.

Done Minerva looked around and saw Loomi with that boy again. She remembered him from the training session on New Cov though they didn't really meet in person. If it wasn't for the present situation she would go over there to Loomi to say hello and jest. Instead her smirk fell and she grabbed a box and was handling rations to the refugees.

OOC: My character is not wearing her armor as emphasized in the early part of my post. Rather she’s wearing an Alliance military uniform.

Normally Auteme would spend hours preparing for each session, carefully combing through proposals, drafting arguments, reviewing profiles. It often meant she was arriving late, if only by a few moments. It let her show off the rising function of the Chancellor's podium and added a little drama to the beginning of each session.

Today the Senators found her waiting for them, sitting in silence at the heart of the Senate Chamber as they filed into their pods.

What was there to be said? War was inevitable. And if their analytics were anything to go by, it might even be popular.

So soon after the Maw. What a joke. It'd been many years now, and already the Alliance had forgotten. In the afterglow of Ryloth, that flaring rage and violence had been brought to a simmer once more.

But it was necessary.

She rose from her dispassionate slump, raising a hand to quiet the murmurs in the hall after the latest speaker. "Well, since we're all dancing around it-

"I motion for a declaration of war against the Mandalorian Enclave, with all that accompanies it. The GADF's mobilization level will once more be raised, and the Defense Committee will meet once more for a budget request.

"If anyone still wishes to speak or make amendments, say your piece now. Then we will vote."

"Shroud, this is Wraith. Nightfall gives its nod."
"Vixen nods as well." A male-esque voice whispered through the comms.

The roofs of the now crumbling city made for easy climbing spaces for a trio of silhouettes that leapt to their positions. Red tails waved through the air as they prepped for what came next. A calm before the storm. Mandos would be in heavy armor, and so the lead of the trio prepped their blaster, setting it to ion mode.

"Ready with eggs to fry on the bucket."

Another of the trio prepped what looked to be small eggs. Something that couldn't be tracked and what couldn't be designed against. Mandos were prone to overpreparing, and yet they never plan for simplicity. No one does, because no one expects you to resort to something so primitive by galactic standards.

So, it was to be war after all. Not that she minded terribly, she had made her stance clear during the last debate about the Mandalorians in this chamber and then events of Ryloth had kicked off. The path of the Alliance and their once allies against the Maw had been clear then, and when the Chancellor would put the matter to an official vote, Arkania's stance would be clear in its support for the coming conflict. The only good Mandalorian, in her opinion, was one that had gone on to their precious Manda.

Even then, as speeches and statements were made, she merely reclined back in her pod and listened.

This conflict was far from Alliance borders at the moment, but that could rapidly change as systems decided they needed to join the galactic superpower to gain protection from the armored warriors. Petitions from other planets and sectors would start coming in soon, no doubt, and agreements would need to be reached for the deployed forces to have bases in the neutral zone. The economics would bring great wealth to anyone that might profit off a war, as she was sure that was the underlying reason for the Senator from the Trade Federation's ardor. They could smell a profit in the offing.

It was going to be some interesting news she would be sending back, news that would only embolden and allow the rebuilding to continue relatively unimpeded.

Of all the times that Jax came back to the Alliance it was when they declared war. This time it was against Mandalorians, the second greatest of the Jedi. Though Jax had his entanglements with the Mandalorians in the past namely a Fett who attempted to kill the Chancellor, he respected them. They were committed to self-improvement and they actually had the common sense to actually use flamethrowers, jet packs, carbon sprays and what not. Something not even the Sith bothered to use with their soldiers. Still, the Mandalorians despite not being as numerous as they used to be are deadly and a single Mandalorian warrior was worth 10 on the battlefield.

Jax wasn't present at Ryloth but he heard the aftermath was bloody. Many refugees ran to the NJO and this time Jax decided to take action. "Myvette," Jax said as he motioned to a medical dropship. "Come on we're going to help."

"No need to thank me. Everybody is working hard, putting their elbows out. That's the beauty of the order." She answered.

Braze's words worked as motivation for Ilo, and she got to hand out soup with even more passion. She nodded as he was speaking, and ironically, she felt like she was in the middle of a difficult training task. The ladle was her lightsaber. The pot, her enemy.

"Aye, sir! Also, what happened to Ko?" Aduni asked in a naive way, not knowing that maybe it was just a private thought. She could hear it as normal, with the enhanced senses.

In the middle of that streak, Ilo accidentally dropped half a ladle of soup on her apron, making it dirty. She didn't make a case about it, instead running her finger through the stain and trying the soup. It wasn't really good. Not good at all. And it was all those people had.
However, her belly roared in hunger. She just remembered that she hadn't eaten since she started her work.

"Oh dear, do they even know what salt is?" Ilo whispered to her colleagues. "That's just rude. To serve this."
